Is the World Cup 2026 a moment of glory for African teams?

This life is full of diverse experience because in Africa some are celebrating their moving better with their world cup performance, while some in Europe are complaining and saying that they are not well to do in this world cup because of their number of participation, but what I see of it all is that we can't predict until the last stage and only behold those that will make it to the final before anything can be draw as a conclusion on those who made it and those who were not able to reach the final stage in this FIFA world cup.

I don't think we have to wait until the final before we can give credit to the countries that deserve credit, the African nations in this world cup have shown their best performance so far. Out of 10 nations that qualify, 9 made it to the round of 32 and although most of them have lost their matches but still they played very well and we can say some did not deserve to go home. Morocco and Egypt have qualified and this two nations have good experience to advance to the further stages of the world cup. My support is on Morocco from Africa as they are the best team in Africa and currently the only team that has the players to challenge the South Americans and Europeans in this world cup and if they play very well I believe they can win it.

Most of the African teams that lost did so honorably. Apart from Algeria, which lost by a slightly high margin, all of them lost by one goal. They played so well that their opponents had to work hard to defeat them. Who would have thought that a small African side like Cape Verde would hold the defending champions till extra time?

Many sports pundits talked down to African countries like DR Congo and Cape Verde, but today I am sure they have a different view of football on the African continent. Hoping that Egypt and Morocco will keep the flag of Africa flying in this World Cup.

I don't know how Egypt will play against Argentina. But I am confident that Morocco will defeat Canada.

Let us be honest with ourselves the performance is very poor..Fifa recently just made the decision to increase our slot, but out of 10 only two were able to make it to the Round of 16.. And considering the teams that are facing this remaining two African Nations, I honestly think that it may even be very difficult for them to scale through.But then, let me dont make assumptions since football itself is highly uncertain... And so hopefully this 2 African makes it further coz if they don't honestly I think that FIFA may review their decision and probably reduce our World Cup slot... If that decision is made, then it wouldn't b good at all..

We really can't say that it's glory time for teams from Africa right now. With the World Cup format having more teams, it indirectly gives more chances to teams that we could say are underdogs. So far, maybe Morocco has performed really well. But some teams might actually be making their own history for their national teams in this World Cup.

Since this thread was created, more and more African teams have been eliminated. I really had hopes on Senegal judging from their performances in African Cup of Nations (AFCON), but no, my expectations were cut short. We shouldn't be happy just yet until the finals  then we can proudly make this bold statement about Africa. I love Africa and strongly wish for this glory to come to Africa through  any of the teams still in the game.

In the round of 16, the African teams left are only Morocco and Egypt. Morocco will face Canada, which also performed well beyond expectations. But I think Morocco has a chance to reach the quarterfinals. 
Meanwhile, Egypt will face a strong team, Argentina. This obviously won’t be an easy match for Mo Salah and his team. We all know Argentina is definitely favored and clearly stronger in terms of gameplay. But anything can happen in the knockout stage.

Soccer commentators in my country have been quick to praise the rapid improvement of African teams in this World Cup. cause having nine teams advance to the Round of 32 is already a source of immense pride for these African teams. And they truly deserve this appreciation and praise, even though seven teams have now been eliminated, leaving only two remaining. But I also believe that Morocco is a team that can be expected to go even further.

Today or in just a few hours, Morocco’s match against Canada will begin, and I’m quite confident that Morocco will win this game; in fact, I’m certain they won’t even need extra time to defeat Canada.

This is outside of my power of imagination. I couldn't trust me own eyes. Cape Verde was close to beating Argentina and this is not just a defeat, this is the beginning of a new age of time.

Do you know how many children from Africa will now intensify their efforts to become great players? This is what I love about the World Cup. It moves people and I genuinely hope that African's see this opportunity and become a challenge for us Europeans. They are a challenge in marathon, in 100m Usain Bolt, but now it is time they become a challenge in football and many more sports. I enjoy this a lot!

Has it gotten to the point where African teams are happy to qualify for the RO32, even after getting eliminated in that round? So far, only Morocco and Eyguypt has qualified for the RO16 out of the 9 teams. This is how poor African football has been for years. In fact, the North Africans are the ones making Africa proud because every other team will be out. Cape Verde is losing alrady, im sure they will be out.

Teams such as Germany, Netherlands, Croatia and Austria are out. The real powerhouses are CONMEBOL teams. Out of the 6 teams, 5 qualified for the Round of 32, and 4 qualified for the PQF stage. Two-third of the teams qualified for the PQF. None of the other confederations even comes close. UEFA's performance is similar to that of CAF. 16 teams entered from UEFA this time. Only 7 remains, which is less than half. And imagine how many would have remained, if players of African descent decided to represent the CAF nations.

As for the massive participation in the round of 32, it's just ridiculous - as soon as it got to the round of 16 (let me remind you that previously there was no round of 32 at the World Cup), the African teams practically disappeared lol.
Otherwise, everything is as usual - the Europeans are the main favorites, South America is second and offers some resistance, and the rest are just extras.

People who once considered African teams as easy opponents in the World Cup have now realized that they can also put up a strong resistance against big teams. Cape Verde has shown that they are also quite strong by playing against the best team in the world like Argentina. The Argentine players probably could not have imagined that they would have to play against them until extra time and win with difficulty. Now, it is quite difficult to assume a winner in the World Cup just by looking at the team or because of its name. Many gamblers were in panic during the Argentina vs Cape Verde game. Especially many people here who had bet on Argentina almost choked.

You are right with your observation because it happened to three African teams which are: DR Congo, Senegal and Egypt but the most annoying one is that of Senegal. How can Senegal explain that they were leading by 2:0 till 86th minute only for Belgium to get an equalizer within 3 minutes. Senegal really need to work on their defense, they have good strikers who can score but their defenders is full of mistakes. Egypt almost loose guard to Australia but they were lucky that they sail through after a penalty shootout. As for DR Congo, i won't blame them because they met a tougher opponent which is England.

Unfortunately, many African teams have been a great disappointment in this edition of World Cup, whilst some have pulled off miracles, such as Cape Verde, and others are very strong, like Morocco. Cape Verde pulled off a real miracle, something that Curaçao, for example, failed to do, showing resilience and a real ability to play good football, whilst Morocco are a technically very strong side and could well surprise us again this edition.

Till now I don't know why Senegal decided to loss that game because my hope on that day very high and only for me to loss hope after Senegal loss all the two goals and still receive another goal to lose our from the tournament. Senegal has played a kind core African game that day. But social media platforms discussions shows that, the problem was from the Coach who made some major changes after.the second half and that was the downfall of the team. And critically looking at it, things might came from there too and their defense became porous for their opponent to penetrate.

African teams at recent times have performed better than in past. Morocco reaching the semi finals in last world cup was the best ever performance by African team and this time Morocco as well as Egypt has reached the round of 16. Morocco has a better chance of reaching the quaterfinals again as they are facing the relatively weak team Canada while Egypt would face defending champion Argentina which would be a tough competitor.
