Is the World Cup 2026 a moment of glory for African teams?

We cannot call it a moment of glory for African teams just yet until the world cup is over but from we can all see that African teams are doing very well in this world cup and honestly a lot of us that are Africans didn't even expect this from them. From the way I see it I doubt if Any African team can win this world cup.

You are right, we can't really called it moment of of glory when isn't over, until it is, that is when one can be able to decide if one will called it moment of glory or not, although they are really trying their best, as they are putting so much effort to make sure they win they win the World Cup, but just like I said, until its over, one won't be able to predict accurately, as things may turn around and as we also know, football is full of surprises and what one might not expect that is what will happen. So, one should not conclude yet when the tournament is not yet over.

At stages like this the world cup is always tougher because teams that are not strong enough gets eliminated and for the fact that the African countries that are still playing is trying and putting up a good performances they really deserve some accolades from us though it shouldn't get into their head, they should keep it up because it's not easy. One of the formidable team that will actually go far in this world cup is Morocco and they have really performed well even though we know that no African country will win the world cup but at least the performances they have shown means we have improved in our soccer.

One thing I have come to understand is that no team should be underrated in football because they can do the unthinkable and can surprise the big teams with stars, Cape Verde performed wonders against Argentina in round 32 and was narrowly eliminated by the Argentines but they played so well and made everyone proud.

I agree with you. At a crucial stage like this, no team can be underestimated because every team that has made it this far truly deserves to be here. Anything can happen, Argentina is certainly the favorite, but that doesn’t mean they can’t lose. We’ve seen clearly that in this World Cup, many of the top seeded teams have lost and been eliminated. Africa have very strong people physically, it's like their genes. They have many good players but lack of proper tactics and discipline to succeed in World Cup. With time, it has changed and national teams from Africa actually stronger and more competitive than 10 or 20 years ago. It's because they have more players going to Europe, playing there a long time which actually are helpful when the play for national teams.

The world cup has been full of different drama, if you have have been observing things, you would have seen that some African teams that were eliminated in the round of 32 was as a result of their inability to maintain what they started in the first half, away from that, many, vapey Verde has also gave other teams the mind that Argentina is not an invisible team, they can be take on by any team in this world cup, it is left for Egypt coach to prepare his team and instruct  them on how to play, despite that Argentina is seen as  the favourite team to win that match, I still think that everything is possible.

There is new thing I trending for African teams. They will score first in the first half and equalized in the second half or extra time and loss to the European teams again. I think when things happen like this there are two people to be blamed. The coach and the players. They would have defended their goal from the opposition team. Take for example, yesterday’s match Argentina - Cabo Verde, Argentina scored the opening goal in the first half courtesy of Lionel Messi but Cabo Verde were able to score an equaliser to keep both teams on their toes. The match I am expecting to watch is Canada vs Morocco which is another African country that will be playing with a North American country. I don't know where the match will be played whether in the US or Canada but I have already placed a bet for Morroco to qualify for the next round of the 2026 world cup. I think it doesn't matter, every country team will perform different at every world cup, you can call it a moment of glory but that's why we call this a game, for entertainment purposes only I don't see anything wrong here at all.

We really can't say that it's glory time for teams from Africa right now. With the World Cup format having more teams, it indirectly gives more chances to teams that we could say are underdogs. I really had hopes on Senegal judging from their performances in African Cup of Nations (AFCON), but no, my expectations were cut short. We shouldn't be happy just yet until the finals  then we can proudly make this bold statement about Africa. I love Africa and strongly wish for this glory to come to Africa through  any of the teams still in the game.

I cannot say much about this game for now, but my fingers is very much crossed. I really thought that Senegal would go far in this world cup, but I guess I was wrong. In the previous world cup Morocco reached the semi-finals, losing to France by 2 x 0. Now it's possible Morocco is going to face the same rival once again, but on quarter-finals this time. Cape Verde is the perfect example of a debutant team, just as they should be. For me, they were the revelation of the tournament. It's a shame they didn't advance. Unfortunately, Argentina scored a goal and won, but I have serious doubts about an Argentine goal that was offside. I don't think it was. Anyway, it's over now, but every match leaves me wondering about the blatant favoritism shown to the big teams. It makes football look bad.

The Egypt and Australia match yesterday was a very disappointing moment for the African team against the next round as expected we hope so much in Egypt to be one of the driving team for Africa this next round, although the match was a draw 1:1 which to some extent we can still mark is as good for Africa even though no point was added, Ghana lost 1 zero to Colombia today another Africa team just got knocked out of the world cup.

Morocco truly achieved an incredible victory, but the scoreline is very deceptive. In fact, in the first half, I'd say Canada dominated. Apparently, Morocco couldn't recover from the long game against the Netherlands. But the Canadians were unlucky and couldn't convert their advantage into goals, and then, when both teams were already tired, the quality of Morocco's players, which was superior, began to tell.

To me the only pride of Africa is Cape Verde, Morocco and Egypt, they're representing well, especially Cape Verde, they didn't lose any game in this tournament in 90mins, they outplayed Argentina yesterday night, Cape Verde shocked the world, and they left with a good record. Morocco are really trying very much and I won't dispute that fact, which will keep saying it, the enery people puts now to watch and keep themselves entertain, its what I have not witnessed for while now, and in my own knowledge, this is what I called moment of glory, as they keep surprises one on a daily and if any African team bring the World Cup home, it will really call for celebration, but for now, its important for fans to keep motivating them to go higher.
