Using only BTC is like using only Windows. BTC has become corporate money these days. Who wants a monopoly in crypto ?
I don't quite understand this point. In what sense has Bitcoin become corporate money? Are there actually corporations that use it as money? I'd be more inclined to agree with
pawanjain:
It's all about the trust. Big money is flowing into crypto and when that happens, they choose the one which is guaranteed to profit them.
Altcoins cannot be trusted that easily which is why instiutional investors are investing their money into bitcoin.
Corporations use Bitcoin as a kind of "investment" that they intend to eventually convert back into what they actually consider money.
Anyway more cool altcoins = less BTC dominance (it's like more cool Linux distros = less M$ dominance).
And what's wrong with Bitcoin's dominance? Dominance isn't the same as a monopoly. Twenty years ago, when the vast majority of people in my country used Windows, that didn't stop me from using Linux.
I use what I want, others use what they want, and I don't particularly care what percentage of people use a cryptocurrency that I don't use.
I actually use Bitcoin as money in my everyday life, but from what I've seen, there's hardly anyone left around me who still uses it. Everyone has gradually switched to USDT and USDC. But that doesn't bother me at all. If I need to pay these people or receive a payment from them, I can simply use one of the many exchange services available.
