We played fantastic football in the first half. We found the net through Cerny in the 40th minute and went into the break leading 1-0.
I was particularly impressed with Olaitan and Orkun.
Olaitan is a player we signed from Göztepe last year, but I can say he has really stepped up his game this season under Italiano.
If he keeps up this level of performance, he will be a huge asset to us. The team is doing well right now.
I see Trossard is in the squad; he will likely come on after the 75th minute.

Besiktas is currently really well dominating the game but currently its still 1-0,i expected at least few more goals from Besiktas. The match is really one sided and Besiktas has 16+ shots currently but still cannot find the second goal to finish this match. Hradec is trying to attack and to score at least one goal to try and make things intresting but Besiktas aint letting them. Trossard is still on the bench and currently Besiktas hasnt made any subs so its expected that they make really soon.

I expected a goal rush in this game from Besiktas, looking at the quality that Besiktas has. But unfortunately the game ended in a 1:0 victory and Besiktas moved to the next round as the first leg also ended in a 1:0 victory in favor of Besiktas.

The game was a very tough one and could have end up in a draw, because Hradec Kralove had 42% of the ball possession and had ten shots in total but on two were on target. Hradec Kralove wasted too much opportunities on goal , after losing the first leg at home I expected that they should have gotten a nice result in this game.

But nice one to Besiktas as they showed character by holding on to their lead right from the first half of this game. Let see how they will perform in the next round of qualifer.

M Tel-Aviv did their absolute best to do a come back but it wasn't enough. During the first leg where CSKA Sofia won by 3 goals away, I thought that Tel-Aviv would give up before the second leg. I initially expected today's game to end with Sofia winning again, until Tel Aviv scored  at the 12th minutes. I still believed that Sofia would score in the second half , until they were 2-0 up , that's when I realised that Tel Aviv might actually do a comeback at the away ground. But that comeback hope died when Sofia score at 66th minutes. It was a great game though.

Besiktas is currently really well dominating the game but currently its still 1-0,i expected at least few more goals from Besiktas. The match is really one sided and Besiktas has 16+ shots currently but still cannot find the second goal to finish this match. Besiktas won both legs by a narrow margin. The first leg ended with one goal, and I was not disappointed because they were reduced to 10 men. But in the second leg, they had the home advantage to score as many goals as they could. Besiktas will face FK Kauno Zalgiris in the next round. I’m not familiar with their opponent, but I think it would be an easy game for them to win.

To be honest, I didn’t expect Maccabi Tel-Aviv to win the second leg after losing the first leg at home. Everyone knew that it would be a difficult game for them to make the comeback. They lost the first leg at home by three goals, so what do you expect to happen in the second leg away game? Before the start of the game, I considered Maccabi Tel-Aviv as the favorite teams to make it to the next round, but their performance was not enough to make it to the next round.

Well its really wierd that with so many shots by Besiktas they scored only one goal. Besiktas should have won this by a much bigger difference and a lot easier but for them what is important is another win and they are heading into the next round. Besiktas currently only winning by really small results and that is still a little worrying,but with new transfers should be easier for them in the future.

The third qualifying phase is almost concluded, except for one last outstanding game between KI Klaksvik (Faroe Islands) and Polish Lech Poznań.
The game had to be postponed due to the difficulties with flights that prevented Lech from arriving on time. I read that, due to the fog, their original flight(s) got postponed and they had to look for alternative arrangements.
The last game will be played today. Lech only have a one goal advantage from the 1st leg, so nothing is decided yet. Klaksvik's home advantage coupled with Lech's travel problems could shift the edge in the home team's favour.

This round was great and the second time in competitions history an Albanian team will be as a minimum playing in Conference League group stages. Egnatia the Albanian Champions will be facing in Europa League play off the Lillestrom team from Norway. Honestly after seeing their first game against Shamrock where they lost 3-1 I did not expect such a turn back by winning 5-1 yesterday night. Let's see how it will go this play off as I think they are more than capable of putting a good fight against Lillestrom.

The Pafos-Salzburg match was a thrilling one. When Pafos FC went into halftime leading 2-0, I had started to think Salzburg would be eliminated, but between the 54th and 70th minutes, Haris Tabakovic scored three goals, and Salzburg managed to take a 3-2 lead. Although they had a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, they really ramped up the pressure after falling behind 2-0, and once the score reached 3-2, they were able to breathe a little easier. Although the match ended 3-3 with a goal by Murat Memmedov, Salzburg advanced to the next round. It was a thrilling and impressive match.

Another poor European night for Scottish football. Rangers were eliminated by Jagiellonia, despite being big favorite. But I already said in this thread before that such result for me wouldn't be surprising. Hearts - only positive thing about them that they didn't lost their game at home with Benfica. But it doesn't matter when aggregate score is 2:7

Besiktas will face FK Kauno Zalgiris in the next round. I’m not familiar with their opponent, but I think it would be an easy game for them to win.

As someone who knows Kauno Zalgiris very well. I don't think they're capable to make any problems for Besiktas. They were destroyed by Dinamo Zagreb, and probably Dinamo is similar level team like Besiktas. So, it will be easy if they will look at opponent seriously

Egnetia made one of their best comebacks in recent years in the second match. They suffered a huge defeat in the first match, and the fans had lost hope, but they played a magnificent game in the second. Now they only have one match left to qualify for the Europa League. If they can't qualify for the Europa League, they will at least play in the Conference League. I think this is a great achievement for a team from a developing country. I hope we see more teams like this succeeding in such tournaments.

Yeah, I watched only the 1st half, Lech was dominant but both teams were a bit clumsy at times. I'm not sure what happened in the 2nd half (will watch the highlights later) but looks like Klaksvik got outclassed.
Losing 5-0 at home looks quite surprising given they only suffered a minimal loss in Poland, but it kind of makes sense. They started the 2nd half being down 2-0 on aggregate so they had to take risks and go very aggressive, and I think Lech must've punished them with cunter attacks. It's either that, or Klaksvik accepted their fate and mentally resigned in the 2nd half.
Either way, it's good to see Lech making it to the play-offs, where they will face Swiss champions, Thun. I think Lech will have a decent chance as so far Thun have been underperforming in the league (lost 2 out of the 3 league games).

That is probably one of the strangest results I have seen in a long time. Considering how the first match went, how close it was, there is hardly any good explanation for this. It's weird to say the least, but at the end of the day I think a team losing 0-5 at home shouldn't be playing in the Europa League, anyway. It's probably good to have them kicked out as they did definitely not raise the quality of that competition.

Difficult to tell though whether Lech was very good or whether Klaksvik was far too bad.

I didn't watch Shamrock Rovers match against Egnatia but am I the only one feeling that the Irish club was planning to demote to the Conference League? How to explain their disastrous first half. They took 3 goals in just 20 minutes. Their Albanian opponent got a red card and Shamrock Rovers failed to score more than a goal, after taking another goal by Egnatia while playing with one man down!
