When you say Portugal can turn the game around? You don't seem to know there won't be a second leg. The new format is something almost everyone knows by now. After the league stage, when you move on to the knockout rounds, two-legged matches are played. Right now, they've only played one match against Milan, and they lost. They needed to make good use of their home advantage, but Milan couldn't. I'm very surprised by this result. Benfica is certainly a quality team, but I actually thought Milan wouldn't lose this match.

i really liked Beşiktaş. they don't have many highly talented players except Trossard, Orkun and Vlahovic but their manager has significantly sped up the team's style of play. and team is going through a solid restructuring this year. Önder built the most logical setup imaginable in such a short time for a team aiming for a league championship.

Benfica took the lead and their winning streak might continue after this match,it is still early to tell but Benfica looks really good and they already have a lead over probobly the hardest opponent so far in the europe league. I think we will see both teams to score and over 2.5 goals because Benfica already opened the match pretty well.

Benfica started the game well and they grab 3 solid points from AC Milan. Benfica wa underrated but at the end of the day, winning was observed and important. This is kind of excellent performance for Benfica, they are one of the best teams in Europe and I see them as serious contenders for the Europa League this season. Although it's still early phase of the Europa League.

What happen to Ruben Amorim men against Benfica? They did press but was unlucky with the ball and wasted big chances of goal scoring. I guess this is not the end of AC Milan as I'm pretty sure they will bounce back and do more better than the previous performance.

Probably biggest upset is Torrense away win against Lillestrom. I just remind that Torrense is now just 14th team in 2nd (!!!) Portuguese division. Very poor performance from Marseille as they got destroyed by Besiktas

In terms of good value and underdog picks, I'd say Ferencvaros are looking decent. While Celtic are doing great in the Scottish Premier League, their most recent European tournament performance was very far from perfect. They lost to LASK 5-1 (5-4 on aggregate) and dropped out of the Champions League. They also lost their last game in the Scottish League Cup 3-0 to Rangers.
Ferencváros are a bit of the opposite. They have been a little bit of a disappointment when it comes to the Hungarian League games, but they have been exceeding expectations in the European cup qualifiers so far.

It was a pretty even game overall, but I liked how Ferencvaros kept moving forward and didn't "park the bus" after taking the lead. It looked like their offensive tactic might have backfired when Celtic equalised, but it didn't take long for the Hungarian team to score again just before the break.

The biggest win was Juventus defeating Dutch NEC 5-0. I said it before, NEC are not in their best shape currently. They are underperforming in the Dutch Eredivisie, so I don't think it wil be much different in their European cup adventure.

I watched Celta - Juventus were Juve took very late win. It was painful hit for Celta, camera were showing Celta fans after the game and their eyes were full of tears.
Torrense from 2nd Portuguese division relegation zone were so close from making huge upset, but they also conceded very late goal and Sunderland won it 1:2.
With all respect to Lyon, not sure that they still cn be called as top club. With mediacore results in recent years they're only shadows of their glorious past. But this win was impressive for sure.
Celtic got destroyed as I expected. I saw enough their games and I'm not sure that they have potential to do better. If they will end outside Top 24, I wouldn't be surprised.

For me strangest result in this round is NEC away win against Dinamo Zagreb. At one point Dinamo were leading 2:1, but then NEC scored 3 goals without response and game ended 2:4. And Dinamo before the game were significant favorites.

Milan conceded early goal, but it wasn't end of the world. Maignan's stupid actions was situation where whole their game was ruined. Stupid red card + penalty - complete disaster. And then playing more than hour with 10 men against solid EPL team.

I think we can write AC Milan off as one of the favourites to win the tournament. Their performance today proved they either not take the Europa League seriously or are simply not quite there when it comes to the skill level.
I previously named Ferencvaros as my dark horse and they did not disappoint. It was their biggest win so far this year. Home advantage for Milan meant nothing, and the Hungarian team kept pressing from start to finish, despite being down to 10 men from the 77th minute.
Pressing paid off and Milan's defence crumbled. It was almost embarrassing to watch a club of that calibre to make so many mistakes. 2-0 win for Ferencvaros was fully deserved; it could've been even higher. They allowed Milan to dominate in possession, only to demolish them with dynamic, well-executed counters.

After 4 rounds, we are down to only 3 teams that have won all of their games: Ferencvaros, Benfica and Bournemouth.

Expectations are one thing, but statistics shouldn’t be ignored either. Milan doesn’t have a strong track record in the Europa League. Ahead of the Milan vs. Ferencváros match, statistics for both teams were already available here. Ferencváros is performing better than Milan, even though it doesn’t come from a renowned league like Milan with its rich history. The result of the match, which forced Milan to leave the field with their heads down, confirms that Ferencváros traveled to Milan with strong statistics and returned home having solidified their position in the Europa League.
