I think the final could only be considered sensational if England gets there, if England can beat Argentina. As for the semifinal match between Spain and France, it's an evenly matched team, and whoever wins won't be a surprise or a sensation. I like France better right now, but looking at their previous matches, it seems to me that Spain has beaten France more often. So it's not at all clear who will get to the final, If Spain does, it won't be a surprise.

I would really love to see England at the finals, and not just there, for them to lift the trophy. It's been a long time, and they have lost some finals, and it will be fine if they win this world cup. They have to beat Argentina, and that's not an easy task for them, to beat the Defending champions, they have to put up an extra ordinary performance to do so.

As for France and Argentina playing the finals, just like the topic, I don't even want that, because they have been there previously, and I would really want to see a new winner like I have always mentioned at the post. Against all odds, I have finally decided to follow my guts and my I'm betting for a World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina.

Actually, it doesn't seem so unlikely to me, and if I guess the winners of both semi-finals I will multiply the bet by ten times, which was too tempting to pass up, in addition to being the final that I would really like to see this year (being, as I am, Spanish).

As for the winner of the final, I still do not venture to pronounce, I will leave that for the next few days, depending on how events develop.

I do agree that it is not a simple decision and we should realize that this is going to be something that will take some time. I would say this was quite unexpected, and even I personally was rooting for France. It also seems to be confirmed with the pre match odds, which were strongly in favor of France unless I am looking at this the wrong way right now. I sure hope that Argentina is eliminated and that we can have a peaceful finale and not a situation where Spain is playing Argentina because that is not deserved, Argentina got too many decisions done in their favor to be where they are. Anyone can play excellently when the referees help you in almost every game.  They team is not as great as you make them out to be, and they would have been kicked out at several stages if the decisions were not so strongly in their favor. You kind of contradict yourself by saying they play excellently, and then question their level of play in the following sentences. Writing like that does not make a lot of sense because the statement does not logically follow.

I was also expecting that France win that match to play the final against Argentina, I was caught by surprise.... France played so far below expectation if compared to what they had been doing up until then in this edition of tournament, I am very disappointed with them.

Can't believe what just happened. France getting sent out of the World Cup without even putting up much of a fight against Spain which was tactical football all game long.
They were the favorites with a top goal scorer in Mbappe and Dembele who had a match inwhich he scored several goals of his own. Everytime I looked at the odds to see who were the most favored to win this season it would always be France right at the top of the table.
I wasn't sure what happened to France during this match all the sudden but Spain out played them. They kept the ball in their possession for most of the first half even after having that penalty awarded allowing them to take the lead after the half was done.
So now all we have to speculate on is if Argentina can make it past England on this thread.
