First of all, I’m very sorry if this is not the correct section for this topic.
Judging by the fact that this topic hasn't been moved to another section for two days, you've hit the nail on the
head.

I wish I had at least a little technical background because I feel like I’m learning everything from zero. You cannot learn functions in mathematics without first understanding equations, and before that, you need to know how to multiply and divide numbers. That is exactly how I feel at the moment.

If you want to gain knowledge, then nothing will stop you.

Just start learning gradually: from simple to complex.
Sometimes I read something about Bitcoin, and it suddenly starts talking about nodes, but I have no idea what a node is. Then I need to stop and learn that first before I can understand the original topic. This takes a lot of time, and sometimes it makes me feel frustrated. I often think that if I had some technical background, I would understand these things much more easily.
Gaining knowledge has never been a quick process. But I see you're doing everything right, because when you encounter something new and unfamiliar, you pause and try to find out more about it. It's also commendable that you're doing this yourself (as some newbies do), rather than waiting for a "guru" to teach you everything.
Wasting time shouldn't upset you, because you're using it productively (gaining knowledge).
For example, I only learned about cold wallets a few months ago. It is a very basic and important concept, but I did not know anything about it. After buying one, it still took me some time to move my sats to the cold wallet because mentally, I was not ready to try it. After I finally did it, I felt very good, by the way.
There's a first time for everything. As you can see, cryptocurrencies isn't just about "fear and risk", it's also about the spirit of discovery (learning something new and taking new steps).
I’m just wondering whether this is a normal part of the learning process. I’m the kind of person who likes to dig deeper and understand something properly when I become interested in it. However, sometimes Bitcoin becomes too technical for me.
That's normal. Don't think about it, just do it.

Everything new and incomprehensible always seems difficult, but over time, looking back, you'll see that everything is simpler.
I’m still DCAing every month, by the way. The way I feel does not change my behaviour. I can also see the progress I’m making. It just seems to take me more time compared with other people. I know I’m still new to this, but I often get annoyed with myself.
Don't compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to your "past self" and become better.
