I may not agree with you on few links that you posted, but I totally agree with you on most of them or nearly all of them, although there were trash on Meta before, but it is getting worse.
I thought about that while I was making the list. Not everybody will agree on all.
Good point. I also thought about that, if this thread might be a little trashy in itself, but compared to other threads, it's definitely not as bad. It's a meta-reflection on the other BS threads.
An AI spammer publishing an AI generated complaint thread and people replying to it seriously without reading the posts that show it's a text generated by AI?
Oh, so you suddenly don't like AI anymore?
Today is a bad day for the AI Luddites on the forum, and I would like to take this opportunity to express my condolences.
That's normal, theymos is a reasonable guy who allows a certain amount of legitimate AI use on the forum, but he won't allow AI to turn this into a forum of bots interacting with each other.
I don't like people with low comprehension skills bullshitting. Those who have a certain level of understanding know that it’s one thing for theymos to allow certain uses of AI on the forum, and quite another—as you yourself quote:
... but he won't allow AI to turn this into a forum of bots interacting with each other.
That thread was reported by me and locked due to the OP copy-pasting AI.
OP seems to be somewhat annoyed,
Not really, haven't you paid attention to this?
Let's have a friendly discussion.
I've created more for entertainment purposes. Part of the reason is that, over time I’ve seen people apply to become merit sources, and in general—though perhaps in the past some didn’t seem very solid to me—most were reputable people who created a well-crafted OP, who had earned and distributed merits in a reasonable way, and so on. But in a short time, I’ve seen three applications: one was to grant merits to shitposters; another came from a Legendary who borders on being a troll, asking, “I want to be a merit source—what do I have to do?”—meaning he hadn’t even taken two minutes to research the topic—and then he edited it, receiving a large majority of downvotes. The other had a questionable track record when it came to distributing merits.
There is a very simple solution that would clean up Meta from some very pointless topics, and all it would take is for our signature managers to put the Meta board on the list of boards where posts will not be counted as paid. I will not open a new topic with this proposal, but I will only tag those members who could help make it happen.
I don't think so—there isn't an excessive amount of shitposting in this section. There's a lot more in others. But I started this thread because I'd gotten the impression that there had been a few pointless threads lately; the good thing is that they don't last long on their own or they get locked.
That would maybe make sense if Meta is overrun with spam and shitposts, but despite the occasional troll topic and unreasonable request, it's one of the cleaner boards. At least among those that I regularly visit.
I agree.
OP, no offence, but you just opened similar kind of topic.
Yeah, as I said before, probably this is a bit of BS thread as well. I won't let it run for too long, though.
