Many things have changed because anyone can now decide to be a merit source and post about it on Meta, unlike before that exceptional people were the one posting about it. As of that time, these kind of members are receiving enough merits on the merit source application thread, but now such is not happening because everyone just want to be a merit source but they are not having the qualities to be a merit source.

I may not agree with you on few links that you posted, but I totally agree with you on most of them or nearly all of them, although there were trash on Meta before, but it is getting worse.

I don't see any particular evidence that there's any malware there, and I don't consider merely naming it "Ethereum1" to be confusing enough to be classified as phishing. So the account is unbanned.

Meta used to be a board for concerning discussions about the forum, but as time goes on we get to see more ridiculous requests, threads and discussions from members we don't expect. Can we predict what's next?   not really.

What is the next BS thread that is going to be published on Meta??

1. The umpteenth thread complaining about the merit system: It will always come. Newbies will always complain, by now maybe everyone shouldn't be surprised to see to such thread.

2. A BS merit source application: they will not stop applying. I think that instead of members applying whenever they feel they're qualified, it can be left for only board moderators to forward an application requesting tha a particular user be made a merit source to support the board he is moderating instead of anyone waking up to apply for his personal interest.

3. A guy who begged for red tags and achieved 13 complaining about how wrong the DT system is: Ehn, this too.

4. The umpteenth thread complaining about how bad the forum or one of its sections is: Individual view and fanatics who always want it their own way.

I was going to post something regarding a solution I started to think about related to signature campaign spam - I guess I can put it here, and you tell me if it's a decent idea/thought or not.^{[or if it's been proposed before]}

Basically, merit sources can seek employment from campaign managers to be...uhh..."posting enforcers?". The thought is that since (most) merit sources already are trained to look for quality in a post, then they could spend a bit of their time (paid for) during the day monitoring posts made by campaign participants, and handing a merit out to a post that "deserves to count" towards that sweet sweet bitcoin payment at the end of the week or whenever they get paid. So let's say a campaign has 20 participants. A merit source (or two) could approach the manager to that campaign, and apply to become a quality-enforcer of that specific campaign - That way it's sort-of "official", ie. sanctioned form of money-transaction involving merit, as otherwise is looked down upon/grounds for negative ratings.

Their application could even be in the form of 5-10 posts that would be seen as quality, and not LLM generated garbage or repeated nonsense, etc. Now, they can earn income from being a merit source, since it has an alternative use outside of just meriting for general-quality forum wide. The campaign manager then can look through his 20 participants, and respectively, their posts, and see how many of them got merited by the quality enforcer of that campaign. Manager can then see if adjustments need to be made in the participant roster at his discretion. This idea has several ways it could go sideways, and several semantics/logistics that would need to be worked out, but...yeah. I guess it's a gateway for people, who are disgruntled that their post didn't get merited by a quality enforcer, to make complaint threads in Reputation.
