My Question
What is that one lesson or belief about Bitcoin that have change since you joined the BItcointalk ?

Bitcointalk have not just changed my thoughts about bitcoin but it has taught me so much about patience and to be frank, it has really helped me develop my level of patience not just towards bitcoin and the market but to life in general and frankly o have gained a lot of knowledge from the forum and before my joining the forum, I saw and treated bitcoin as a ponzi because I got to know about bitcoin during the era when ponzi was very popular in the country and the few who were talking about bitcoin were running some sort of scam through it but the forum gave me a better understanding of the coin.

Liberty; i mean freedom.

Bitcoin has taught me that decision made by everyone is better than a decision made by an individual or group of individuals.
I now apply this principle in my organization. I explain facts to everyone, tell them the possible cons and pros. Allow them to bring their individual decisions, then we go by consensus. If we fail, we failed and if we succeed, we succeeded.

Well, I learned about Bitcoin in Bitcointalk, I didn't know it before I make an account. I didn't even know how it works, so there are a bunch of lessons.

If I had to pick one important lesson about Bitcoin that I learned in here, is to hold custody of your funds and how to do it properly. I remember vividly before I create an account, my understanding of Bitcoin is that you create an account on Coinbase and just move it inside there.

Though on my end, I have known bitcoin because of these free faucets like freebitco and then came with bitcointalk. But in this forum, my knowledge expanded a lot. From these alts, mining and the whole nine yards. I cam say, I'm very grateful to be part of this forum.

I have been following Bitcointalk for many years now, it was really useful to me until around 2013, when you could still mine with Erupter. You could always find some gems there, and someone who was having the same problem as you. Then, once home mining was no longer viable, I’d sort of drifted away from the forum. I picked it up again a few years later to find it had changed completely, it had become less technical, of course, but more inclusive, in an effort to reach as many people as possible. Then in 2023, following the disastrous bear market of 2022, FTX and so on, I opened this profile in memory of a dear friend who is no longer with us and who introduced me to this fantastic world. In the end, I regretted not having opened it sooner, but that’s how it went, being as obsessed with anonymity and privacy as I am, I thought I could do without it.
Bitcointalk has taught me that by changing one’s perspective and way of looking at things, adoption can only grow, for a while, I thought decentralisation was a thing of the past, but in fact it’s stronger and more fundamental than ever.

Thank you guy, thank you admistrator and moderators, thak you bitcointalk, thank you satoshi you change my life.

My Question
What is that one lesson or belief about Bitcoin that have change since you joined the BItcointalk ?

There is no end to learning about Bitcoin, if you can use Bitcoin properly, this will be the best. Many people are transacting with this Bitcoin and holding this Bitcoin to eliminate their financial needs in the future. Everyone is using Bitcoin in the way they can, so the way you use Bitcoin will be right for you. I use Bitcoin as a holding and have gained a little knowledge about Bitcoin and am looking forward to gaining more in-depth knowledge and this forum has taught me a lot of in-depth knowledge.
Which I could never have learned from outside this forum, I am holding Bitcoin as a holding and this is what I will continue to do in the future and I will continue to hold Bitcoin holding and continue to move forward into the future by maintaining the continuity of purchases.

Bitcoin is more about how to react as a human not just understanding the core idea and concepts of Bitcoin. FOMO, greed, discipline. All these are still needed not to make rash decisions in Bitcoin investment. Another thing is that Bitcoin is about your freedom and how you control your wealth without any middle man. Most of us here verify things before we accept it. That's another thing this forum has highlighted most of the time. Security is one important thing that has been talked on here multiple times. How to stay clear from scammers. And protect your Bitcoin as all times. We also have a role to play in other not to get scammed. Fully aware of the tactics of how scammers operate and scam their victims is a plus. Make sure you are well informed. This forum is an eye opener. Readers will always benefit before they contribute into making newbies learn.

This forum has taught me almost everything I know about Bitcoin and being a Bitcoiner.

If anyone is willing to take the time they can find the answer to any question about Bitcoin.
It has it all and these are some of the things I have learned here:

Bitcoin ownership and wallet selection, trading, buying, selling, exchanging and what to use
and what not to use. Why its best to ditch alt coins and focus on Bitcoin itself. Mastering the
psychology of Bitcoin ownership and how to avoid FOMO, FUD and to learn patience. This
forum has also given me more financial education than I had before joining.

What is that one lesson or belief about Bitcoin that have change since you joined the BItcointalk ?
I would say that almost everything that I know today is mostly because of this forum, because when I first joined this forum, I didn't know anything other than Bitcoin itself, I didn't know who created it, I didn't know how it works, I didn't know anything about self-custody or non-custodial wallets, because when I first started using Bitcoin, used to use online wallets such as blockchain.info which wasn't a non-custodial wallet because you wouldn't get your private keys in it or a seed phrase, you would only get a phrase that you could use to login into your wallet and that's it, things might have changed since then but I don't know because I haven't used the wallet after that.

After joining this forum and reading through the sections and threads in different boards, I started gaining knowledge, I learned everything about Bitcoin, and came to know that other cryptocurrencies exist as well, and I also came to know that this forum was actually created by the creator of Bitcoin himself because I stumbled upon this forum through a google search when I was looking for micro-earning platforms and websites back in the day and this forum had a section for that which was pretty active at that time.

So, I wouldn't say that any belief had changed, but all the beliefs that I have today are all learned from here, mostly.

Mainly about investing and giving importance to holding bitcoin. Many of us did a lot of bad decisions in the past that we've exchanged bitcoin for these FOMO and hypes of ICOs, etc.

While there were investors who made a lot of money from doing that. But, one realization is that we don't have to stress ourselves out when we're already holding bitcoin.

And it includes about panicking won't do good to us so why worry with it that you have an idea that it shall do fine in the long run?

The more I read, the smaller I feel. It turns out that Bitcoin has a very wide scope. It even always has connections, so it always has an effect if something isn't done. One thing that really impresses me in this forum is the open discussions and the very good validation. This forum makes me trust Bitcoin and its future more. Because in this forum, problems are written about and discussed in a way that really makes sense logically.

I'm not sure if I ever will be this confidence on how Bitcoin is and it's potential, I always consider altcoins as better investment over Bitcoin, it was what I learn from people and form what I have seen, the money they make as profit from those tokens change their life until I learnt that altcoins are one time opportunity, if you are there before it went high, you will make the money once you sell but if you bought at the top, you may holding debt forever.

The difference between Bitcoin and altcoin is cleared, it's the reverse of what Bitcoin does is what altcoins does. Everything about altcoins are luck, you can be lucky and you can lose everything but I'm not sure if anyone has ever lost investment with Bitcoin, that is if you didn't panic and sell. You can always rely on Bitcoin but I don't think at this point you can rely on altcoins, I'm not sure if we are going to ever have alt season again.

Before I joined the forum there are lots of things that I didn't know about Bitcoin and one thing that I always had in mind was that investing in Bitcoin is impossible without having a huge capital but when I got active on the forum I learnt about using DCA system of investment.

I learnt a few things from some people before I started getting involved in the forum but after reading the ideas been posted here it have me a broad understanding of what Bitcoin and the crypto market is all about.

Just like the name implies "Bitcointalk" I honestly don't know if there's any other space that can teach you Bitcoin like the way the forum does, you must just be willing to take out your time to read, that's the only way you would be able to grow in knowledge.

Bitcointalk was the main reason why I became interested in cryptocurrency. Before then, I was avoiding anything about crypto because there was a high rate of online scams in my country at that time. People were being scammed as they were offered Bitcoin but given some shitcoins after they had made payments. So I had this ignorant view that all cryptos were scams.

My connection with the forum changed my views about the crypto industry. This forum taught me everything I know about Bitcoin and much more. I have benefited greatly from this forum in all ramifications.

... not your key not your coin,
...
My Question
What is that one lesson or belief about Bitcoin that have change since you joined the BItcointalk ?

Good to see now you really understand the importance of "not your key, not your coin". By the way, when did you buy your first Bitcoin? I want to have an idea of how long you have been in the crypto space because I have seen many people who still don't understand the importance of "not your key, not your coin". Anyways, answer to your question, nothing changed haha, but yes, I have learned a lot from many members here on this forum.

I learnt about privacy, I learnt about investment strategy, I learnt about risk management and the role of diversification in the crypto space and many, a lot of things. So, long story short, with the passage of time you learn that shapes your way of thinking about anything. And in any case, if you are wrong at any point, that information and knowledge you learnt correct you at that point.

My Question
What is that one lesson or belief about Bitcoin that have change since you joined the BItcointalk ?

Most of the things I know about crypto as a whole I learnt it from here. During my time here,  I have come to understand so many things by reading from the many great minds that is filled in this wonderful community. One of my crazy thoughts I had about Bitcoin was that transaction can not be lost, I always taught that there is a way to fix any transactions that is sent to the wrong address because I believe that is a mistake that would be done by many persons so they must be a way around it, but I learnt here that Bitcoin can be easily lost if you are careless enough to send to the wrong address of which I actually learned my lesson the hard way (lost 35$). I came to read of so many stories of many persons that actually made same error and also Bitcointalk made me understand that every Bitcoin that is lost on wallet without access actually makes everyone else possession of Bitcoin more valuable due to the limited supply of 21million Bitcoin that's currently in circulation.

To be honest let me mention the biggest changes that BitcoinTalk forum has brought in my perception about Bitcoin, firstly I have learned the difference between paper money and Bitcoin and also gained knowledge about how this digital currency can provide financial freedom.

There are also many other things to learn like Bitcoin is not a Ponzi scheme so if one wants to be a successful investor then one should always think of it as a long term plan, not a short term one and should invest through discretionary income. I was even able to learn about the types of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency wallets and wallet security, such as using two-factor authentication for transactions, through this forum.

You guys may laugh at me; at the beginning I wasn't much interested in Bitcoin, although a few people told me about it. I had invested in Ponzi schemes that time, and the interesting thing is I wasn't aware these were Ponzi scams. When I lost, then I realized they were scammers, but after joining the forum, I realized what a Ponzi scheme actually is.

When I introduced with Bitcoin and also invested in Ponzi through Bitcoin, I only knew the Coinbase wallet was the only wallet for Bitcoin, lol. After joining this forum, I learned about Bitcoin wallets and what Bitcoin is. From the forum I learned how Bitcoin and wallets work and also learned about trading. The forum and Bitcoin together changed my life; that's how the forum helped me to know Bitcoin.

What was probably the number 1 biggest belief that changed is realizing I shouldnt just see Bitcoin as a speculated asset to flip for a profit.  Its so easy when you first enter into this space with all the social media hype to look at price charts, quick pump and dumps and just cycle through chasing alts and shitcoins, but it took a real couple of months here on Bitcointalk to make me realize I need to take my time, understand the tech from the self-sovereign perspective, the security implications, and the patience of old-time OGs.

I mean that whole system forces some deep and honest reassessment about what the heck we are actually doing here.

My Question
What is that one lesson or belief about Bitcoin that have change since you joined the BItcointalk ?

For a decentralized community, the level of composure from bitcoiners is quite surprising. In the beginning, I doubted the knowledge I'd gain from fellow community members, not until my full member days that I started understanding the conversation and giving my input into discussions. That's when I knew there was much to grasp from here. Before joining the forum, my view on Bitcoin was different. I had in mind that mining was the only means to get Bitcoin back then. It took me weeks after joining the forum to actually buy Bitcoin and store it in a wallet without hassle.
