This season is very interesting as it is characterised by serious competition between FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon. But I'm particularly amazed by the performance of FC Porto who have won all their four match played so far and have not conceded a single goal. Could it be that they have fortified their defence so much that it has become impenetrable? I want to see them play any of the big team like Benfica or Sporting Lisbon, then we can see how prepared they are this season.

and Benfica continues to follow in the wake of the last matches he has played, theoretically he should score at least 2 goals, but they are still different teams and different situations, in football we all know that it is always a surprise every single match.

FC Porto is the most balanced and formidable team in the Portuguese league at present, and I believe that they are the favourite for the league title this season. Yes they have fixed their defense this season and another thing that has really helped them is that the players have fully understood what is required of them on how they should act when on the ball and off the ball, so I believe that they are more balanced than they were last season.

I expect them to face a stronger test when they are up against these top teams, but if they can be good and very solid at the back like they have been in their past four games, they can beat sporting Lisbon or benfica that is their major rival for the league title.

If Benfica wins their outstanding two matches which they will do, they will have the same point with Sporting CB and even probably occupy the second position in the Portuguese table which Sporting CB currently occupied, so I think Benfica should also be seen as a serious competitor this season. FC Porto has a team with good chemistry last season which made it possible for them to win the Portuguese title, it's expected of them to perform well this season, and for them not conceding a single goal yet, it's not something we should worry ourselves with because as they play more matches their performance will decline at some point and they will definitely concede goals against big and small teams.

That game was funny. Sporting scored the first goal in the 5th minute of the first half. I was happy and at the same time wondering if there would be some unpleasant surprise, something like Sporting relaxing to focus on defense. But to my delight, 11 minutes later Sporting scored their second goal, which reassured me, and then came two more goals. Sporting scored 4 goals in the first half and I even thought there would be more, but in the second half they didn't score anything. It was strange.

Académico 0 - 3 FC Porto

While Sporting scored in the 5th minute of the first half, Porto overcame that and scored in the 4th minute of the first half, and 15 minutes later Porto scored again, this time their second goal, making it their third goal in the first half. However, they didn't score anything in the second half. The same thing happened with Sporting; it seems that, seeing victory as guaranteed, they decided to conserve their energy and manage the result in the second half. This is a good strategy when playing against weaker opponents.

If I were to place a bet on a team in this league, I wouldn't choose any team other than Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, or Porto.
These three teams dominate the league. As time goes on, the gap between them and the rest of the field will only widen.
I watched the highlights of the Sporting Lisbon match; they looked as though they were playing a practice match.
Galatasaray is set to face Lisbon in the Champions League on September 9th. I follow both teams closely. Sporting Lisbon is the favorite for that match. The goals they scored against Rio Ave were truly spectacular. If they display the same level of play against Galatasaray, they could easily score 4 or 5 goals.
Porto maintains its lead, having won all four of its matches without conceding a single goal.
I do not expect them to drop any points before the match against Benfica on September 20th.

I confess that when Benfica plays, I get a little scared. I put them on my parlay because they've scored a lot of goals so far and they'll be playing at home, where they've done well. But I'm still traumatized by past experiences where I put them on my parlay several times against very weak opponents, with odds of @1.09 in favor of Benfica, but Benfica would equalize and I'd lose my bet. The saddest part is that twice the equalizing goal Benfica conceded was scored with only a few minutes left in the game, which irritated me.

I don't know if I'll have the courage to watch Benfica's game tomorrow. Normally I like to watch the games I bet on, but in the case of Benfica's game, I confess I'm afraid to watch and even follow the result. I'd rather watch Arsenal's game against Aston Villa, which will be at the same time as Benfica's game, and I also bet on Arsenal to win.

If I were to place a bet on a team in this league, I wouldn't choose any team other than Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, or Porto.

Predicting matches between two smaller teams in the Portuguese league when they play against each other is a very difficult task. I, at least, can't predict them, and that's why I don't bet on them. Even when it's Braga's game, I can't predict it, so it's better to focus on betting on Porto, Benfica, and Sporting, as it's easier to know the entire squad, coaches, head-to-head history, and even watching their games is much better.

I think the safest bets right now are Porto and Sporting, at least until the 12th round when they face each other, then the table will change. But until then, I'd bet on both. In fact, I'm betting on Porto for Friday's game against Moreirense, despite the low odds.

In the previous season..Porto were six points ahead of sporting CP at the top table so if they can beat sporting CP in this season then there is a chances that they might win the Liga this season.

It is natural to keep clean sheets when you haven't faced the majors in the tournament, still though the fact that you have kept clean sheets shows you are committed to having great goal average without forgetting to net home the 3 points which are vital in this first part of the season. The real test will be against Sporting and Benfica as that makes the top three of this league, personally I doubt Porto will keep clean sheets with either of these teams yet it is to early to make assumptions.

Yes, some players are showing some of the bad habits from last season. Instead of playing forward and trying to score more goals, they've started slowing the game down and playing sideways/backwards.

I believe the coach will start making some changes to the starting lineup if they continue to insist on this old habit.

It was a frustrating for gamblers, we all thought we were getting a goal Galore in this game but it ended in a 2-1 win to Benfica. Though for me after seeing the odds I decided to go for the corner option and it played well for me, I played Benfica to win first half corner and they did. One needs to be careful in options we pick when these big teams play.

The big boys in the league are still yet to drop points, I think we are going to have a very interesting and competitive season, i know it’s still very early to say but it really good when season kicks off Like this.

Aside from that, bigger teams have been having better edge in this start of the season and Porto is the prime example of that, even Sporting are playing excellently this period and coupled with that this array of games, not in the Liga Portugese but in other bigger European leagues, just hope the season will continue like this

So for the next round, I won't put them in my parlay.

It does appears so with the scoreline, haven’t being able to keep a clean sheet after playing 4 games and have being able to score over 1.5 goals in each of their fixtures.
However, it took them 2 penalties to be able to win the game against Alverca.

Benfica 2 - 1 Estoril

Looking at Benfica, they only won one game without difficulty. In two other games, they conceded goals and could even have lost if they were unlucky. In their last game against Estoril, I bet on them, I put them in my parlay, and I confess it was terrible.

The one difficult game they’ve had is the game between Academico where we saw each goal being met with a response from the opposing side. The game against Casa Pia was a goal rush while, the game against Estoril was more about getting that first goal that came at the 40th minute, Estroli were a little lucky for Benfica to have scored only 2 goals out of 8 on target shots, multiple play within the goalkeeper’s box and Estroli’s goal came off a defensive clearance error that set the stage to destroy their clean sheet very close to the 90.

For the next round I'm going to bet on what's safe: Benfica winning, Porto winning, and Sporting winning. From what I've seen, the odds are 0.83, which I think is worthwhile and makes sense. All the teams are doing well and the trend is for them to win, so I believe it's a safe bet. What do you think?
