This season is very interesting as it is characterised by serious competition between FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon. But I'm particularly amazed by the performance of FC Porto who have won all their four match played so far and have not conceded a single goal. Could it be that they have fortified their defence so much that it has become impenetrable? I want to see them play any of the big team like Benfica or Sporting Lisbon, then we can see how prepared they are this season.

Four consecutive wins without conceding a single goal is quite commendable but it's doesn't mean they are heading for an unbeaten run this season, they still have the likes of sporting Lisbon, Braga, Guimaraes etc to face and it usually gets pretty rough whenever they face these teams, besides we are yet to get into the champions league this season so I still don't consider FC Porto invincible yet, not until the campaign gets past a considerable number of games where we could comfortably predict if Porto might be considered to either forfeit or retain the championship once again.

Sure, that is why working on proper analysis before placing a bet is very important. Most times, we feel that analysis is just a waste of time when we see a big team at very small odds, which convince us that the favorite team will win the match without thinking twice. But if we seriously take our analysis seriously, it’s possible that we will always choose the best option.it is the lack of analysis that makes us rely on one particular option, which is always straight winning when the team is small. Like the last time that I did my analysis, I was able to pick the right options. Some teams I wanted to pick as straight wins, but after some checking, I just decided to change some options by giving some teams two chances and some to score a goal. Luckily, it was the way I predicted it; it happened.

If I had rushed to pick those games because I believed they were straight wins, I would have given them all straight wins, and I would definitely have lost the ticket.Yes, anything can happen. There are some teams that do start well but find it challenging in the middle and toward the end of the season. Some teams, when their season is coming to an end, always drop in form. Others, after they pick up form, continue maintaining their strong form until the end.

Porto conceded their first league goal in the fifth round in a home game against Moreirense. the score was tied 1-1 after halftime and Porto had to fight back. Porto will likely beat Moreirense in the second half. bookmakers are confident of Porto victory and offer odds of 1.3 for the home team to win after the first half. I think the players and coaches of Benfica and Sporting will be rooting for Moreirense to hold on at least to a draw.

I've never felt comfortable betting on any other teams in this league aside from top ones like Porto, Sporting, sometimes Benfica and very rarely, Braga. My problem is that most of the other teams are not consistent with their results and the few times I have indulged, they didn't even meet up with bare minimum over 1.5 goals bet I place on them. That means, I'm going to wait until the next weekend before I place any more bet on this league.

There are three teams in the Portuguese League that stand out for their reputation and quality. These teams mostly drop points when playing against each other; aside from that, there are only occasional surprise results against other sides.
Porto conceded the opening goal in their recent match but still managed to win 2-1.
Arouca has also started the season well; their only defeat came at the hands of Porto.
I cannot recall a surprise champion emerging here in the last 20 years other than Porto, Benfica, or Lisbon.
Back in my childhood—in the early 90s—Boavista took the league by storm, but they were hit by a doping scandal, and the team subsequently went into decline.
They were relegated to a lower division after that and eventually returned, but they never regained their former strength.

Porto 2 - 1 Moreirense

I bet on this game and watched it. When Moreirense scored first, I confess I wasn't worried and continued watching until Porto scored the equalizer. Then I stopped watching for a few minutes, and when I returned, I saw that Porto was already winning. This confidence in betting on Porto is something I don't yet have when it comes to Benfica games. But I intend to bet on Benfica's game against Moreirense.

Sporting 2 - 0 Nacional

A very important victory for Sporting. Although I bet on them, I didn't watch the game because I was watching another game I had bet on. However, I was able to see the highlights of this game. From what I saw, Sporting put a lot of pressure on Nacional's defense, but their attackers weren't very skillful to score many goals and only managed to score 2. I think Sporting's good defense and the fact that they were playing against a weak opponent gave them a comfortable victory, even though they only scored 2 goals.

Maritimo 0 - 3 Benfica

I confess I'm very surprised by how easily Benfica won this away game. They scored 3 goals and didn't concede any. It was a very important victory because it keeps them in the title race and gives me more strength to bet on them in their next game. I don't know the odds yet, but I'm still going to bet on their victory. I'll do a parlay with Porto, Sporting, and Benfica.

I think this is already my fourth season betting on Portuguese league, and my strategy remains the same: betting on the top four teams and trying to make parlays with them
Braga is my fourth team, but I don’t include them every time, only when I see that the round is more favorable

Now, the other three are very consistent in their wins
Last season, the top three lost only four games combined, that’s a huge advantage and shows great consistency

Why is there so much emphasis on Porto not conceding a goal, I know Clean sheets are good for defenders and goalkeepers, but when you keep a clean sheet without scoring a goal, then what is the point of keeping a clean sheets, there are games you play goalless, then you have lost all three points, because you’re more interested in clean sheet a manager would require you to win a game 2:1 than keeping that clean sheet, Benfica are playing a good football under Marco Silva than they were playing under Jose Mourinho, I expected Benfica to score more goals in that particular game, but they were missing chances.

Champions League qualification is going to be a priority for Benfica, Porto, Sporting CP, so it’s going to be a massive fight for that two Champions League qualification spot.

It was a good analysis indeed, but Santa Clara had the home advantage and Rio Ave conceded 1.75 goals per game. For the bet, I considered precisely that, not to mention that Santa is in a much better phase. Rio Ave did manage to play well, but they weren't that dangerous. Santa managed to score 4 times, making it a very comfortable victory. Any predictions for the next round?

You're right about this. When a team is more focused on not conceding a goal, they end up packing up draws in e every game and I'm sure that draw is not the best games. It's even better to win 3 games and lose the 4th one than to draw 4 games and then claim unbeaten. We have many teams that has played sucha game and the results were never what they wished for. Last season, Morinho's Benfica finished the season unbeaten and still finished third on the table, the Al Hilal team also did same, finishing unbeaten and not winning the league. A defence will have to work hard to avoid conceding a goal but the attackers must not be forced to go defensive too just because you don't want to concede goal and you play draws. Porto played the best game they should play and they got their points and that's all. If the keeper and the defenders need more accolades, they should work on themselves and fight for themselves but don't expect the manager to play the game defensively because he doesn't want to concede a goal, you may end up conceding without scoring and that will be more brutal.

Winning is the most important thing in football, but when you play without conceding any goal, it boost the team confidence and winning is much easier when a team concede less chances like the fc Porto team. The way football has become more technical, it's more difficult for teams to keep clean sheet than in the past, so if fc Porto has been managing to do that consistently, since the season started, they should be appluaded for that because it's not easy to keep a clean sheet against a quality oppositions as they have been doing recently, so if it has been grabbing the spotlight, I think that it's well deserving.

If you told someone that, they’d surely say it was a perfect season and that the team won the championship

But that’s not what happened
Porto lost two games but earned more points in the end

On the other hand, Porto conceded the fewest goals, with only 18
