However, to be an experience Bitcoin investor doesn't really mean you should be only concentrating on how you can be accumulating Bitcoin but also your ability to keep your assets safe from thieves (hacker's) to penetrate them.  And how can you make sure of that is by choosing a self custodial wallet that can ensure you of the safety you desire.

That said. In Bitcoin investment, being ignorant of what should be done or any form of negligent isn't spared. A little mistakes can cost us a whole lot we will live to regret all our life. So we should try and do what is expected so we wouldn't learn some tough lessons.
In my opinion,  I would advise we also discuss about our Bitcoin security in the same way we discuss Bitcoin accumulation and accumulating strategies,  because it will help those who are just getting started with their Bitcoin accusations journey to learn how they can properly secure their bitcoin investment for the long term.

And there is no point accumulating Bitcoin if you don't know how to properly secure it from hackers and scammers who could drain your Bitcoin investment,  In conclusion,  let's not be ignorant of what need to be done,  when It should be done,  so that we won't spend years accumulating bitcoin only for scammers or hackers to come steal it from us.
I completely support you on this because of an experience my friend had few days back, he mistakenly wrote his seed phrase on a paper unknowingly to him a scammer got it and somehow cleared his bitcoin wallet, the amount of bitcoin wasn’t so huge but my friend till today is very skeptical once i tell him anything regarding bitcoin investment, he just feels it is not safe and he can be easily scammed, the annoying part is he is destroying the mindset of his friends concerning bitcoin, i have tried to educate him that it was just because of his mistake in terms of not securing his seed phrase in a safe space but up till now he hasn’t accepted. I feel a lot more should be done on bitcoin security because many investors still have a major issue of securing their bitcoin assets, some lose it completely once they die without having any opportunity to pass it on to their immediate families and huge bitcoin are lost that way, of what need will it be to invest in bitcoin and gain huge assets in bitcoin if one isn’t sure that it is secure.

I'm wondering how the scammer got his seed phrase since he didn't store it online, maybe he fell for an online dating scam whereby the scammer decieved him to snap and send the written seeds, that should be the case. He should learn from his mistake instead of trying to discourage others about Bitcoin whereas his lose was fault.

Many people don't really value the security of their coin, in the sense that they don't know that the seed phrase should be hidden safely away from the eyes of a third-party because if expose to the wrong person, everything would definitely be drained. You friend don't want to accept his fault and move on, mistake is bound to happen but he should've learnt from it instead of seeing Bitcoin as unsafe.

A Bitcoin investor don't have to over look the importants of having an emergency funds and also back up funds, emergency funds serves as a protector to our bitcoin investment. As an investor you are prepared to buy bitcoin and hold for long also plan on having your emergency funds also don't wait until an emergency happen before looking for were you can get money to sort it out, emergencies don't  give warning before they happen so it is better to prepare for it before it happens.
You have a very good point, I can see that your point emphasizes on having a backup funds whenever the investors embark on bitcoin journey, which is very brilliant advice. Because bitcoin investment make more sense if investor enter with long term mindset, and that can’t no be achieved if backup funds is ignored (emergency funds). Because backup serves as protection for investment and helps investors to avoid touching their bitcoin accumulation whenever something goes wrong. The point of investing into bitcoin for long term, that’s to gives your bitcoin investment enough time to grow, and escape from victim of being forced to sell your bitcoin just because of little emergency. building a bitcoin position together with backup funds should work together in bitcoin journey, there’s no need to choose one over another, both can work together to make the investment move forward.

You friend don't want to accept his fault and move on, mistake is bound to happen but he should've learnt from it instead of seeing Bitcoin as unsafe.

You are assuming without evidence that the person may have sent a picture of the seed phrase to an online dating scam. If we don't know how the seed phrase  was leaked, then it would not be right to make up a specific story and put the entire blame on him. However, the person to whom such an incident happened should not think negatively about bitcoin, but rather know whether the loss was due to any mistake or carelessness on his part. That person should find out. So that such a mistake does not happen again. Now if seed phrase are  written down offline on some papers, then it may have somehow gone to another person who has access to where that person lives. So it becomes important to identify what the mistake actually is. It can be due to various problems including human error, phishing, bad custody setup. In the above incident, I think it is human error. Where it happened due to the person's own mistake. I do not see any need to blame bitcoin. It is like saying that the house is unsafe after the key to the door of the house has passed into the hands of someone else. But that person first needs to know how the key went to another person. After this, holding bitcoin with caution will reduce the chances of facing any problems.

Don't get too greedy, 2X profit is good enough tbh, if you are lucky 3X, that's more than most asset will offer so why not take it?
We identify ourselves as long-term investors. The main problem with long-term savings is to set a target of 2x or 3x return. Because a long-term investor's plan does not depend on such random multiples. Some questions are completely unnecessary in the concept of long-term investment, such as why 2x is enough, why not 1.7x, or why do you have to sell when you reach 3x?

To put it simply, if you set a specific profit figure in advance and wait to sell, then I think you are moving away from Bitcoin accumulation and towards price. The question investors should ask is how much of their cash flow can be regularly invested in Bitcoin and how many years can that accumulation be maintained.

I have been thinking lately about how investing in bitcoin is actually a great idea but also it can be really hard to make profit off bitcoin if you're a small Investor
Imagine this:
If bitcoin is at $64k and me as a small investor bought with $1k, for me to make 100% profit bitcoin will have to hit $128k, that is still feasible
But if I'm hoping to make a 200% profit on my investment bitcoin price will have to get to $256k, how achievable is that ? And if it's achievable how long is it going to take

Which brings me back to my question
Can small investors actually make good profit with bitcoin?

Or are there other ways to make money with bitcoin as a small investor rather than just buy and hold?
Anyone can make profit from bitcoin wether large or small investors the difference is in the ratio of profit, if both parties are to hold their coins for a stipulated period the large deposit investor will make more profit, the thing is to make profit out of bitcoin currently requires a lot of patience, one must be ready to hold his coin for long meaning that the money invested into bitcoin shouldn’t be the investors primary income, it should be what the investor is ready to let go over a long period of time.

It would be better to separate priced based target from goal based targets.

If a person decides that they want to sell some of their bitcoin because it has grown enough to accomplish a specific financial objective, then it’s their choice and i can probably say it’s more of a reasonable choice than selling simply because bitcoin went 3X; that’s an arbitrary choice to make.

At the end of the day, the whole point of accumulating bitcoin is to improve our financial position and give ourselves more options to choose from. So i think it would be best to focus less on worrying about what multiple to sell at and focus more on knowing what i’m trying to achieve with the wealth i’m building; accumulating bitcoin shouldn’t be the only goal in itself.

This is true, but accumulation can help you achieve your Bitcoin goals much faster.

If you are serious about making profits then make a plan, don't stop at 1k put in the effort. We have the dollar cost averaging method, which can help you get your goals faster.

Small investors who take the opportunity now can make some progress in the market before the bull returns then hold for a very long period of time.

Is their any point making exaggeration?
Bitcoin and Gold are two valuable asset to invest in, the main reason it's more better to invest in Bitcoin now than gold is that Bitcoin is no where near it peak price, unlike gold that is almost there, since it has been in existence from the beginning of mankind, so I may agree with you that Bitcoin is a better asset to invest in currently, due to it huge potential ahead of him, but saying that it's a thousand times better than gold is what I refuses to accept, because that's misleading.

I don't think gold is near its peak, though you are right that it is currently in a correction phase and will likely continue to fall. But Bitcoin is most likely near its bottom and very close to reversing course and starting a bull market.
You are not sure whether Bitcoin is close to a price drop or if the upward market will start from here.
Do you know that the problem of a long-term investor is that he almost decides at the bottom. In this way, he does not save but starts timing the market. Because if the price drops further, he will not hesitate to change his plan. And if the price goes up, he will think that the opportunity is over and stop buying.

So for me, a stronger position is to buy with your discretionary income in an amount that you can keep for years and not make price fluctuations part of the plan.
I agree with you that the real goal in long term investing should not be to buy at the lowest price but to accumulate good assets on a regular basis. If the price falls, you should not panic and buy according to plan, and if the price rises, you should not stop buying thinking that the opportunity is over.
DCA and longterm HODL are much more realistic, especially with money that you will not have any problems using for a few years. Predicting the market and the future and controlling your savings and plans.

But it is necessary to notice the psychological aspect of accumulation without a specific numerical goal, and it lies in the fact that we are all different based on willpower, and someone can accumulate bitcoins and not succumb to the desire to spend it at the first success, and someone can immediately think about buying luxury and benefits. In general, sometimes an absolutely specific goal forces an investor not to test his inner strength, but ...just follow the goal. With some reasonable outcome, of course. And believe me, this approach is sometimes exactly what beginners in investing need, who sometimes do not see their goals in a daze and take impulsive actions.

If we can still do it why not? We take the example of bitcoin holders in their early period and even have profited hundreds or even thousands of times from the adoption they have done but they still survive until now it indicates that they still believe in the increase that will continue to occur in the future.

This is not about greed but about how our belief for the long term whether in the end we will just give up with a few percent profit and release the bitcoin we have or just continue to survive in the hope that the long term or the future of bitcoin will continue to develop in a better direction.  I personally feel if Im still able to continue to hold bitcoin until a certain period of time or price as long as I do not have a problem with it then it does not matter, regardless of others may say that I am greedy or whatever it is we should not care because the focus is our belief in bitcoin so that the views of others speak whatever it does not matter.

Well, I kind of agree with the main point. A specific accumulation target can be useful psychologically, most especially for those who are just starting their bitcoin journey.

The way bitcoin price fluctuates can definitely create emotion. And if someone do not have a clear plan, a small profit can quickly become a reason to sell and live a luxurious life even buying things that are unnecessary. That is why having a target give the person something objective to follow instead of making decisions based on the current market behaviour.

However, I’m not saying that the target must be treated as an absolute rule. Financial circumstances change, and with that in mind plans too can actually be reviewed when necessary. That was why I was again the statement “never sell your bitcoin”

What we need to understand is that the decision to accumulate or sell should have been made earlier before emotions take over, and not during a sudden price swing.

Securing and keeping emergency funds is easy for some and not that easy for many. It all depends on how well the person is earning and the access they have to money. Sometimes one can have money saved for an emergency and when that so-called unplanned expense hit the table, an emergency fund might not be enough to settle it, and you will still just have to touch your investment to solve that problem.

Earning more money doesn't mean that you can easily make provisions for emergency funds, so I disagree with your idea that you need to be earning more money before you can have a strong emergency funds.

What is more important is financial discipline, because I have seen people that earns a lot of money but can't figure out their discretionary income because of poor money management skills, so I think that all investors needs to be good at managing money, in other to be able to figure out their discretionary income and also putting down emergency funds in place from there, if they want their investment to have a strong foundation.

A small investor can make a profit from his Bitcoin investment, but his plan must be consistent with time and long-term. Now if an investor hopes to withdraw profits quickly by investing, then he may fail, because the hope of making money quickly by investing in Bitcoin does not guarantee much profit. To ensure profit, you have to invest in the long term. In answer to your second question, I will say that there are many ways to make money. If you are a Bitcoin investor and know about Bitcoin, then of course you will also know other ways to make money. Still, I will say that if you understand trading well, then you can also make money from trading.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

As a brand new investor, you can be accumulating your bitcoin in an exchange toll it has piled up to $500 and above before sending it to your noncustodial wallet for proper UTXO management. By then, the brand new investor must have figured out which of the open source noncustodial wallet is best for him to use.
I would suggest using time as a criterion rather than quantity as a criterion for transfers. I think we can buy Bitcoin for a whole month, deposit it on an exchange and transfer it to a self-custody wallet at the end of the month. A maximum of $1-$2 UTXO per month might not make a big difference.

If we leave an amount on the exchange until we have deposited the equivalent of $500 Bitcoin as you mentioned, then the risk may increase slightly. Our income level may be lower or higher depending on the country and location, and our discretionary money may also be lower or higher. For some people, it may take 2-3 months to deposit $500. I don't think it would be safe to store Bitcoin on an exchange for that long. Even 1 month might be enough for a beginner to learn about wallets.

If a person is buying $10 to $50 per week, then after 3 months, he might ONLY accumulate $130 to $650 in bitcoin, and there is nothing wrong with allowing UTXOs to grow into the $500 territory before transferring them to self-custody.

Of course, when a person is more poor  and more of a beginner, there is more worry about any amount of money that might be lost, so each person has to figure out their balances in terms of how much value they want to put in various places, and whether they might be engaging in too much risk to keep coins with 3rd parties or how they might have costs associated with various transaction fees in the present or in the future in regards to how they are managing their UTXOs (unspent transaction outputs).

/snip......For sure, I am not suggesting that bitcoin is guaranteed to go up from here, and there are chances that bitcoin can continue to spiral down from here and forever into the future, so guys have to make choices, even the ones who might have started investing in bitcoin anytime after the 2024 "Trump pump", so they might have had started out buying bitcoin at quite a few price points in the supra $100k price territories, including all the way up to $120k before the BTC price returned back below $100k and then we got caught in mostly below $80k prices since February of this year.

So guys have to make choices, and yeah, maybe some guys were trying to front-load their investment into bitcoin through late 2024 and even through most of 2025, so then after 2025, they were starting to feel that they did not have a lot of money remaining in their budget to continue to put more value in bitcoin.

So then in the end, they still need to decide what are they going to do?  continue to buy bitcoin? or just wait it out and not buy more?  or worse to sell some or all of their bitcoin at lower prices?

and guys have to choose what they are going to do while realizing that there are no guarantees in regards to the outcome, and they might not even realize the extent to which they made good choices or bad choices for several years down the road.  In 2015, there were all kinds of folks in real life and even in online forums who were laughing at me and at guys like me, and they were proclaiming that bitcoin was dead. I recall even having some arguments in person with some folks who would proclaim that it would be better to take some value out, and I would say, that they are giving me "advice" about bitcoin while they have hardly any clue about what bitcoin actually is.  All they see is that bitcoin had gone up to $1,163 and then in these recent times, bitcoin is mostly bouncing around between $220 and $240 for months and months and months.

Another thing is that if guys have enough money to cover their expenses. I had a business  in which my business partner had abandoned the business in that time, and I had to negotiate with some vendors to spread out the payments and even the landlord regarding not paying rent for two months, and so otherwise the bills were still being covered and there was a path forward in which the income was still coming in, even though at a rate that involved less income and more expenses... but at the same time, the worst of it was only a few months...and yeah, an easy way out could have had been to slice some value off of the bitcoin, yet I did not do that.  I just had to set bitcoin aside for a while in terms of not being able to buy any bitcoin for several months (during months that the BTC prices were the lowest, or at least in a trench).   So sometimes we might have to juggle things around to make sure that the income and the expenses line up.. to maybe figure out ways to try to increase income and to decrease expenses, even though certain kinds of expenses might not be able to cut back on since if there are some troubles with the business, then there might be some additional expenses that might also come from the transition of the business.
Do you think it is easy to make those decisions? You've been involved in all of this for a long time, and i don't think it was easy to make any move when it came to investing and everything else that comes with it. I know there are all kinds of people, from skeptics to those who don't believe in anything, but when they see that you have some BTC, they start asking questions and then want to do the same, of course without any prior knowledge.

I would not claim these balances are easy for anyone in terms of trying to figure out how much (if any) to put into bitcoin as compared with other places that guys could put their time, energy and value.  So, guys have to make choices to decide based on their own circumstances how much to put into bitcoin as compared with other places and if they want to invest into bitcoin as aggressively as they can without over doing it.  They also have to figure out how to manage their cashflows too, which is also not easy.

Actually let me take it back.  All of the skills necessary to manage finances and psychology related to bitcoin are within basic skills, yet there still can be delemmas regarding what to do and what and how to prioritize matters.

So, of course, guys have to consider their own 9 individual factors and such 9 individual factors are likely ongoingly changing throughout the life of any bitcoin investor, so from time to time, the bitcoin investor might need to tweak what he is doing based on changes in his 9 individual factors.

As for that difficult period, you were lucky that it only lasted a few months. And even if you had sold your BTC, you wouldn't have made a mistake because you needed that money at the time, and that's it. I think about what i would do if i were going through such a difficult period. I would try to forget that I even had any BTC, and at the same time i would look for other ways to make money.

Guys can make mistakes and not even realize that they made a mistake until several years later when they might end up having way fewer coins than they could have had and that they should have had absent the mistakes that they had made.

Many times guys end up selling too much bitcoin too soon and they might argue that they are 3x or 5x or more in profits, yet I doubt that guys who sold most or all of their bitcoin in late 2016 or early 2017 for anywhere between $600 and $2,000 were feeling very good in late 2017 or any time later since BTC prices never ever again returned below $3,124 and they even spent ONLY very short periods of time at any place below $4,500, and sure many guys coming into bitcoin late 2017 or later would have really been thrilled to have had been able to make very many bitcoin purchases in the lower $6ks or below $6k.

And, even so, it may have had taken many years, maybe even by the time late 2020 came before guys realized that any prices below $6k were never going to be seen again.  So, you should be able to realize that there are all kinds of price points between the $250 prices in 2015 and the various price points in various times between 2016 and 2020, so there were a lot of guys with regrets of selling way too many bitcoin too soon during those times, even though it may have taken several years before they finally realized that they had sold too many coins too soon and that they would never be able to buy coins back for the prices that they had sold some or all of their bitcoin at.

And what do you think, in the times we are living in now, with so much inflation and various situations that have a very negative impact on the economy, how possible is it to balance things out and keep our income and expenses aligned? I know quite a few people whose expenses are higher than their income, but they are still fighting to get by, especially small business owners who are at the beginning of their careers. They are currently working and still hoping that things will get better.

All times have challenges, and frequently perceptions of injustices, yet each person still has to figure out how to allocate his time, energy and value, and many times we talk about needs for discretionary funds to be able to invest - otherwise if you need funds and you are trading to try to increase your short term income from bitcoin or any other asset, then you are likely gambling rather than investing.

Another challenge might be geographical, since there are some parts of the worlds that are more challenging than others in terms of trying to be able to find ways to increase your income so that you have discretionary funds available to invest, and so guys have to figure out what is available to them and what kinds of skills, knowledge and experiences might help them in terms of getting better paying jobs and/or even more secure jobs.

Frequently younger people might have more potential for opportunities as compared with guys who might have gone down certain job/career paths that end up locking them in and causing a lot of difficulties to change or to be able to find work outside of their job experiences or even their abilities to learn new skills that might result in ways to increase their income.  Life choices will sometimes have consequences, and there surely may have been guys who did not have very many choices in terms of what they might be able to do, so they  still have to work within where they are at and what might be realistically available to them.

Yep.  I had friends who had 21 bitcoin and 17 bitcoin in 2016-ish time frame, and then one of them was down to 10 bitcoin a few years later and the other down to 4 bitcoin, and they could have kept building their bitcoin stash little by little or at least not depleting their bitcoin holdings.  It becomes impossible to build back up, even though they think that they are geniuses when they sell for various levels of profits along the way.. .but then they end up as no coiners or low coiners.. and even if their bitcoin might go up in value, they do not have much of  at various later dates down the road.
That is a very sad story, i don't want to be hearing story like this because it get me frustrated for someone to make this kind of mistake, I don't see it an achievement if the value continue to increase without the quantity, but honestly I will say that they have make a very big mistake, because I can confidently say that even when they sold it the price will not be as much as it is in the last three years back. A lot of people usually have this kind of thinking because they always believe that they are genius and they can be able to play smartly thinking that if it drop they can get more, but in the case of Bitcoin it actually very difficult only few survive it.
This is not actually a mistake but they are negligent, they forgot that they need backup for Thier Bitcoin investment or should I say they purposely did it feeling that emergency may not happen until they achieve Thier target? considering the amount of Bitcoin they accumulated I'm sure that building an emergency funds won't be an issue but they feel that it's not relevant since there's no emergency need at the moment that it will continue to be like that  until they reach Thier investment target just as many investors believe. I frequently suggest that every Bitcoin investors need to make sure that they have a backup funds such as emergency funds because there might be an impending emergencies and they wouldn't know.

The people I describing did not need back up funds, since they already had back up funds, and they ended up needing to understand the power of bitcoin rather than selling too much too soon.  They were thinking about the profits that they had and the things that they could buy, and they were lacking long term perspective or even a vision of where they were wanting to go.

Its not really easy to make financial decisions on that situation. Because even those well experience people struggles, during in though situations in life. This is why I thing sometimes selling their BTC make sense if they used it on important matters just to survive.

With current situation we are facing now like economy is unstable then inflation rate is so high, many people struggles to balance their expenses and also their income. If that situation occur much better for people to pay attention on stabilizing their income first, then cut those unnecessary spending's and find good ways to have extra income. With this they can bounce back and continue their smooth investment flow on Bitcoin. I know @JayJuanGee don't like waiting, but this is really a realistic approach if they face such scenario.

Its really possible for people to balance these things, but this will take patience as well as discipline then also those realistic decision base on their current situation.

Guys have to have discretionary funds to invest, and if they do not have discretionary funds they cannot invest.  I would not call that waiting, since if they do not have discretionary funds, they do not have a choice.

If they have discretionary funds, then they can choose to invest whenever they have enough funds, whether that is weekly or monthly or whatever other timeline.   If they have discretionary funds and they are waiting for the dip, then I doubt that would be a good approach to bitcoin investing.

there is nothing wrong with starting to buy bitcoin even though you don't have a secured wallet yet, you can always get your hands on one later but the fact that you don't have yet shouldn't be what prevents you from buying bitcoin, there are alot of people who started buying and holding their bitcoin from exchanges, it's not the safest but they did not let access to a good wallet stop them from buying bitcoin and frankly you shouldn't either, your bitcoin can always be moved to a secure wallet on a later date.
Everything is wrong with starting your bitcoin accumulation journey when you don't have a well secured wallet.  Come on,  what's the  point in accumulating Bitcoin without having a secured wallet?  or do you plan to accumulate Bitcoin for hackers to come and steal it?

However,  before you start your bitcoin accumulation journey,  you need to get yourself a well secured self custodial wallet for storing your Bitcoin,  otherwise you could end up losing  years of sacrifice and effort spent stacking those bitcoins.

It was never advisable to start your bitcoin investment journey without having a secured self custodial wallet.   Also,  keeping your bitcoin on a centralized exchange is very risky,  because it is not your key,  not your coin.  Get a self custodial wallet instead.

Bitcoin newbies do not need to get a self-custody wallet to start, even though their goal should be to self-custody their coins.

All bitcoiners should also tailor their security to their bitcoin holdings, so the larger the holdings the greater the security.

And, yeah, guys have to figure out how much security they need and even how much to prioritize self-custody.

Bitcoin would have little to no power or value if self-custody were not practiced, but self custody does not need to be learned or secured prior to getting started buying bitcoin.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Over some months am still thinking amount of money i will use to invest in Bitcoin to become a successful investor  in the future, because to achieve amount of money that will reach me to buy Bitcoin that will turn to double profit or income,I have to hold the Bitcoin for long years before my plan will come to reality. Both small and big investors can make profit or income from Bitcoin investment when he or she have the skills to arrange amount of money that will help them to buy Bitcoin that will multiply their profit or income in the future.
Start with whatever money you can, no matter how small. What matters is being active and disciplined because it's a long-term strategy. Don't rush to invest big amounts right away; if you're using the DCA method, you just need to stick to the plan and remain consistent. The long-term results are worth it.

As your financial capacity grows, you can naturally increase your allocation. The important thing is just to start. Many people don't have the funds to make large upfront investments, but you can always take advantage of buying dips or pullbacks alongside your regular BTC DCA strategy.

You should understand that I said starting without s secured wallet and not continuously accumulating and holding without it, you can always move your holdings to a secured wallet once you have one but it is not a must have for someone who's starting out, it's an advantage but there is no mandate to have it first.

I agree with your sentiment here bro. For a start, it's not necessary to start with a secured wallet or even get to know much of it, because it's not the most important thing when starting, because you can later gain more knowledge on Bitcoin and how to secure your holdings, by moving it from the exchange you bought it, to a self custodian wallet later on, because if you focus more on the best way to hold your bitcoin without starting, it may waste your time or you may even start procrastinating your Bitcoin accumulation, so starting first is very much important, the rest of other things are secondary.

I am agreeing with your point. in your friend case, bitcoin it self was not compromised but rather it was the seed phrase that got exposed, which gave the scammer control of the wallet. this typically shows that self custody remove the need to trust third party, but it also make one fully responsible for protecting their private keys.
Bitcoins education has to go beyond just buying and holding bitcoin, user needs to understand seed phrase security, phishing, fake wallet, backups, and inheritance planning. someone can actually secure their bitcoin during their life time but create problem for their family if there is no safe way to recover it after death. the big lesson here should be that bitcoin requires proper security practice, not that bitcoin it self is unsafe. that really wrong narrative.
