That's very true.I've always said it that by saying we gamble for fun, doesn't mean we actually don't like the profits. I absolutely understand your point, but I don't like when someone compares gambling with other things, because gambling has more losses than wins. So it's not advisable to view gambling as a source of income, because that's the main reason why many gamblers get addicted to gambling. There's a huge guarantee of returns when you have a job or business, but a gambler's "guarantee" still remains under probability at the end of the day. So it makes no sense to use gambling as a source of income.

I quite understand your view about being your own manager of your money but when you look at it from the other from the other way,  they are couples and maybe the woman has not suspected the husband to be that careless to use money in his custody for gambling.
