To be honest, I've never been someone who believes in superstition, especially when it comes to gambling. Whenever people around me talked about winning the lottery because of a dream or some "lucky numbers" they received while sleeping, I always dismissed it as pure coincidence. Because of that, last month was actually the first time in my life that I bought lottery numbers through a local betting site. What made me do it? A very strange dream. In the dream, my wife was kidnapped and I was running after the kidnappers. While I was chasing them, I heard someone on the side of the road shouting "Hey, there are 48 kidnappers!" Then the dream suddenly changed. I was already back at home with my wife. Out of nowhere, she said "Six people." A moment later, my parents appeared and one of them said: "Three." That was it. When I woke up, I couldn't stop thinking about those numbers 48, 6, and 3. I know it sounds ridiculous, but something about the dream felt unusually clear. For some reason, I decided to use those numbers and buy a lottery ticket. And then something happened that I still find hard to explain. The numbers actually came out. Unfortunately, I had rearranged the numbers incorrectly because I wasn't fully convinced and only played a few combinations. So instead of winning, I ended up watching the result and realizing that I had been very close. As if that wasn't strange enough, the same numbers appeared again five days later. That part honestly bothered me more than the first result. I kept thinking that if I had trusted my instincts a little more, I might have been much luckier. At the same time, I still couldn't convince myself that dreams have any real connection to lottery results. Even now, a month later, I still don't know what to think about it. Was it simply an incredible coincidence? Or do you think there are times when superstition seems to work, even if we don't really believe in it? I'm curious to hear whether anyone else has ever experienced something similar. Most of us claim not to believe our dreams but I can assure you that dreams are powerful and most of what we see in the dreams comes to reality because the spiritual controls the physical and I have seen gamblers who said they dreamt about numbers and they wrote it down and play same numbers in the morning and won big money from it, whether we like it or not there are still superstitious beliefs that still exist. While some persons don't believe that dreams exist is because if you begin to think of a thing regularly there are chances that you might likely dream about it because your thoughts are on it so that's why people don't believe in dreams but dreams are true many at times that we dream it usually comes to pass, in as much as I don't believe in some superstitious beliefs I do know that dreams are true and numbers can be won from it if written down.

I think you over-thought about that lottery prize most of the day, that's why you had this kind of dream. There is a study called the "day-residue effect" which says that recent events or thoughts come up in dreams that night. Sometimes it can even come up in dreams 5-7 days later. So I'm pretty sure that this happened because you over-thought about that lottery. However, I would say that the numbers you mentioned are nothing more than a coincidence. There is no way to guarantee that you will actually win from the numbers you get in your dreams.

An interesting case. In a dream, the soul can travel through subtle worlds. There is no time there. That is, all events already exist in one "stopped" moment. Similarly, information immediately exists about everything. And the soul can learn a piece of such information in a dream (as the OP found out about the winning numbers).
Why is there no time? Because there is no gravity there either. Gravity creates time. Therefore, when traveling through the subtle worlds, the soul can instantly move to any place or fly (dreams of flying). So such prophetic dreams should be trusted. However, there is a problem with correct interpretation. That's why there are dream books or any kind of psychics that can help with this. Of course, all of the above is just a hypothesis.

Because people often don’t know which numbers to pick, we feel the need to rely on someone or something to help us choose them. Some people rely on online or mechanical number generators, some rely on their dreams, and some play the same numbers for who knows how many years. I don’t see anything strange in that, the important thing is not to actually believe that dreams tell us which numbers to choose.

Well I am not at all superstitious as a person but if it happened that I had this same dream I would give a try by putting all possible combinations received from an intense dream. The OP here had a pretty intense dream and we see that our subconscience sometimes can help us achieve something. It should be a really bad feeling seeing that your numbers won while you did not achieve anything because you decided to not follow it because it was just a dream.

I want us to first know that the moment you are having a thought over something and sleep over it, you are most likely to dream about that same thing you had in mind last night. You should not deceive yourself about receiving some numbers or codes while on sleep gamble with, all these are just a superstitious belief, and most of them are not even real, than illusion from our imagination. One thing you will know to confirm this is not real is that many are not involved in doing the same thing other claimed they do. Do you know that the solution to some great inventions that paved way for future technologies came to the inventors out of nowhere. The solution just came without them having any clue on what it meant or where it is coming from, an example is the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan who claimed to receive his formulas in a dream from the deity he serves. Dreams are powerful and although there is a scientific explanation for how the brain works better during sleep, but there's more to this world than just the physical things we can see (metaphysics).

If I'm not mistaken, there's also a book as a guide for you to pick the numbers. For example, if a bird enters your house, then you find the number for a bird. When you get the number, for example AB, you also need to bet on the alternative number, which is BA. In your case, you keep thinking about 48, 6, and 3. Now imagine the combinations you should make I once played the lottery back in the old days. I was in elementary school when my uncle invited me to go to a place where he bought lottery tickets. Out of curiosity, I also bought one based on my hobby, football. So I picked the number for football My life was surrounded by this kind of thinking. When something happened, we connected it with numbers, even though in the end we didn't really take it seriously by buying a lottery ticket related to the things that happened to us. The funny thing about this kind of number matching is when the results have been published. We then try to decrypt the numbers. What does this number represent? For example, number XY represents a mango. We then try to find something that happened to us related to a mango. Even when there isn't, it could be somebody else's life event. For example, another person witnessed a random person on the street eating a mango. That's how it goes. There will always be some kind of forced connections for every winning number.

Atleast this will let people know that there is more to what we can see when we wake up from sleep everyday, there is more to this world that we can't even explain as a human, I heard that some you died things will become even more clearer but unfortunately no one died and ever return to tell the tale.
I believe in spirits, spirituality, supernatural and so on, why grand father was different, he sees a lot of things and he told me many things too, you can be called upon, you can get healed through your sleeps, this is why we need to be awoken, give that listening ear everything, dreams are not just always dreams, they carry messages at times, we all have dead people and no dead people can come alive to help you, your ancestors can use dreams or unbelievable ways to try and help you.

If someone dream about numbers, they might related to gambling especially if he often buys lottery. In your case, I think your dream gives a sign but because you are not lottery player, you don't know how to arrange the numbers. Those who often buys lottery know how to set the numbers with many variations based on many things.
Sometime superstition seems to work but we can't always really believe in it because sometime that is just your voice in your heard to place on it. Superstition can surprises you and I guess many people experienced that, not just in gambling but in others. If you have the other dreams about numbers, you can discuss with those who more familiar with lottery so they can set it for you.

I would probably think that it symbolizes a different thing like incoming danger or reminding the person to be aware of what's happening around them. So, I think this is just a coincidence because the twist in the dream is not even pointing towards gambling but danger and confusion.
You aren't far from the fact, because If I can recalled very well, in the dream a voice from nowhere just started shouting they are 48 kidnappers and secondly his wife also said they were 6 in numbers and them his parent saying 3. So if you can view it very critical, you will notices they are all creating some security awareness of the danger ahead, therefore I will agree with you that the dream has nothing to do with gamble numbers or whatever, perhaps it could probably be a mere superstitious belief and shouldn't have seen it from that gambling angle.

This doesn’t happen all the time. Sometimes dreams are completely random, and I think we tend to remember the ones we have in the early morning. I also don’t believe in superstitions, but OP, I’d say those lottery numbers were nothing more than a pure coincidence. I do have one question, though. If we often don’t remember our dreams, how did you remember those exact numbers so accurately? Whether it was someone shouting the numbers loudly or your wife pointing them out, it still seems unusual. This feels more like deja vu to me, as if those numbers had already appeared in your mind, and your brain later connected them to that dream. It’s very strange, and this is the first time I have heard of something like this involving lottery numbers or gambling.

It is all his imaginations based on his strong desire to win from lottery tickets. Ever heard that when you pass a message to your subconscious mind repeatedly, it finds a way to attempt transmuting that to physical equivalents? I'm only surprised OP took such a horrible dream in the direction of gambling and not a spiritual attack or warning like every average person in my country would. Maybe he is from a different country where security is tight and kidnapping is less obtainable than mine that it is almost the order of the day.

Dreams comes through sometimes other times it doesn't but I truly believe that there are dreams that are divinely revealed to some people which would happen exactly or almost as the person dreamt it but it doesn't mean that every dreams comes true. I'm not a superstitious person but I tend to believe that some dreams do come through so yes that OP dream could be a revelation for him to play those numbers that were said I'm his dream or it could be a coincident that the winning numbers matched with the ones he heard in his dream. Lotteries are games of luck so if you see or hear numbers in your dreams you can just try it with small amounts that you can afford to lose, the important thing is that you don't take it that it is a sure bet because it might not play according to your dream numbers.

Dreams are divine revelation that is how I see it, because my dreams always come to reality, but the issue here is if we do not know how to interpret the dream we might not really take it seriously, now whenever I have any dream and don't understand what it means I try to ask some elderly people if they could interpret the dream to me, ever since I noticed what my dreams signify, at times I kept praying my dreams should be more of good things since it always happens in reality most times I used to be scared of dreaming knowing how my dreams can be. I have heard something similar to Ops story one of my community Man who plays gambling and bet always sees numbers in his dreams and whenever he gives it to people to play on they usually win the game.

When we fall asleep, we think about what's bothering us at the moment, and this can often lead to the dream intersecting with your thoughts. Therefore you shouldn't take everything you dream seriously, it's just a mixture of imagination and fiction. And often can't even remember what I dreamed, and even more often, I forget my dream a few minutes after waking up.

Was it simply an incredible coincidence?
I'm sure it's just a coincidence. Even if you trust a shaman to ask for the winning lottery numbers and you win, I'm still convinced it's just a coincidence. Even if the winnings are repeated, it's still a coincidence. Because if a shaman could consistently provide accurate lottery numbers, everyone who enjoys the lottery would simply go to a shaman to become rich. The same goes for your dreams. I often hear people around me asking others what they dream about, trying to find the numbers that match their dreams, only to lose.

What really happened is mere coincidence, not superstition. Every number in the lottery has an equal chance to be picked.
What I believe is that the numbers you selected are somewhat established numbers in your mind. Those seem to be the numbers your brain picked while you were dreaming. At times, a dream is a reflection of our true emotions. A videograpic picture of what we want to see. Anyway, if you had believed the dream, perhaps you would have arranged the numbers accordingly to win, but it wasn't going to guarantee a win.

I suggest OP to watch movie Number 23 with Jim Carrey. After reading a book, guy got obsessed with number 23 and started to see it everywhere. Long story short there is nothing tricky with numbers 48, 6, and 3. There is no magic behind it, no superstition. It is your brain that now got stuck on those numbers and made you focus on them, see them everywhere, make you do calculations and replacements of other numbers to keep on seeing 48/6/3. Better chill before you get crazy, as now you start to get twisted on gambling Pick lottery numbers based on dream. What next? Use any number from dream for lottery until you win jackpot?

Do you know where people are most susceptible to superstition? That's right. It concerns gambling. I've had similar dreams many times, too. But they never yielded any results. In my opinion, you shouldn't pay much attention to them. Just forget about them or leave them as a memory.
Perhaps your dream is a reflection of something you watched before. For example, a movie or video. That was the reason.
