He was just lucky to win more of his bet and he thought that it was by his own smartness which is why he is saying that he has gotten the experience. hmm, there is big difference between betting blindly and placing bet after doing proper analysis. If someone look at lineups, injuries, current team form, motivation and other factor then their decision is clearly based on more than just luck. In that sense, sport betting really is different from many casino game, where player has almost no influence on mathematical probability of outcome.

I think it’s purely a matter of his high self confidence, the OP is in a happy mood because of the profits he’s managed to make, which is why he thinks he’ll get the same results in Premier League matches and has made Arsenal his main focus when placing bets. Nobody is interested in watching a team that won't be profitable for them and especially this new season that's about to take off so many people will bet a lot because more gamblers won from the last world cup and there was a lot of profits compared to looses and with that spirit gamblers will be very open to more stakes during the new premier League season. World Cup games are different from league games, but it's obvious that he couldn't realise that because he's happy with his win. But truth be told, there is no guarantee of any win in gamble mostly on sports games, because no matter how good a team is or how good your strategy is, there will definitely be a time/day when your strategy and your best team will not perform well during a game.
However, even in the English Premier League, if OP use the exact same strategy he used during the World Cup on the Arsenal team, he will not always win because we already know that Arsenal will not get a constant win.

A team can be very good and fall out of luck during a game because it just happens, the players don’t know what will be the outcome of their performance since anything can happen during the game. Meanwhile most times, a good team with great players will surely turn out winning.
