Yes, for me there is no problem if FiFA wants to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup in 1930 which was held in Uruguay, this country is indeed worthy of being the place to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the World Cup, Moreover, the football tournament will be held in six countries as OP mentioned.

I can only hope, even though Uruguay is a special country for the 100th anniversary of the history of the World Cup, I can also hope that Uruguay can also win the 2030 FIFA world cup, if that happens it will be perfect for Uruguay, because considering that six countries are hosting the world cup, they are given the privilege of qualifying automatically by pocketing tickets to the final round without being affected by the qualifying round, This is a special and most precious moment for the host country.

I also think it is a good move to make. Some historical significance is going to help fans' excitement. World cup football quality will be also even better than ever before. We witnessed a tournament in which attendance records were broken in the stands despite exorbitant ticket prices; even the Cruzeiro v Ecuador match played in Kansas was watched by 80,000 spectators in the stands; every match was played to a full house; a total of 6.5 million tickets were sold, doubling the previous record; and an average of 70,000 spectators per match was achieved.

UEFA has made an official statement that FIFA isn't going to make a move for that. Thanks a lot to the associations which stood against this plan of course. 

The World Cup has already been dragged into corruption. Someone needed to do something about this. Boycotting is a really powerful tool for people. We've seen good results again.

It should be like that. Selling the private stakes means FIFA wants to kill their own business. Since they have announced they got 15b revenue from their current world cup. It's even doubled than what they got from Qatar world cup, which was around 7,5b.  It makes no sense if they're also selling their private equity to raise more cash.
If they are smart enough, that 15b revenue from their current world cup must be enough to develop a better competition in the futures. Selling private stakes was just showing how incompetent they're in managing this biggest organization in football.

So i don't put a respect to them by cancel their idea to sell their private equity because it should be the thing they have done without all of football organizations threatening to boycott them.

You're right, one of the things that sparked the most controversy was when they changed the ban on the US player. They couldn't do that. If they do that, then they should eliminate that type of sanction for all World Cup players, not just one, and that was at the request of a leader. It's obvious that was the reason. The World Cup has always had corruption, but this one that just happened is the one that has demonstrated such corruption the most. I didn't like this World Cup; it was all rigged. If Argentina hadn't waved the Falklands flag, they would have given the World Cup to them.

The truth is that if they had the power to change the sending off decision during the World Cup, what else do they have the power to do? This is the question we should ask ourselves. Football should be a very simple sport, and rules like that shouldn't be changed just because a person in power asks you for a favor, because that's not what it's about.

It's still in FIFA's plan, and they won't be doing it anytime soon. I don't think they force themselves to raise it to the 64 participants when they are still struggled to manage 48 teams in the competition. So many scandal and problems showed during the current world cup.

If Infantino really does it, then this thread has to be locked because all of nations and football organizations in all of continents have declared themselves to boycott, and never participate in any of FIFA tournaments anymore.

The thing is that I don’t think it’s even incompetence of not been able to manage their revenues but rather greed to earn more revenues. This didn’t started today it was actually coming right from the World Cup in Qatar when they added commercials then and got the most highest revenue from a World Cup which was around £6.5 billion and then to gain more they added more commercials in the just completed World Cup with even commercials in between halves of games and even a 30 minute show in the world, all this were for more revenue and since the money was coming I wasn’t surprised that they took this step now.

Infantino is looking at the Football like other sports most especially the NBA and that’s why aside the selling of private equity there is also increment of nations participating in the next World Cup which is also another opportunity to generate more revenues and not for competition

The competitiveness ended a long time before you even realized it. 2 WCs behind. I don't know how hosting a centenary tournament will help, but if they can't let a team perform solely with their original effort, without any form orf support, we are bound to face the same tiring, time-wasting events like the last one.

I didn't even see this before I made the first batch of my post but just as we have always accused this Gianni Infantino man, it has now been confirmed that he doesn't mean any good for the game of football.

With the technology that we have today and the assistance of VAR, we can say, that this sports has improved a lot in terms of fairness. Because let us put it this way that if we rely on human alone, there will always be bias or somehow misjudgment of the situation.

VAR has helped referees significantly in taking calculated decisions and more accurate but till when it involves human judgement it will always be criticised for being not fair etc as the losing teams needs a way to release their frustration and this is the only possible way to discredit the win of the opposing team.

Gianni Infantino had previously served as UEFA president and from what I've gathered so far about him, he's an administrator that's very good with commercialization. I read a the interview that was granted by a former FA chairman of one of the football nations where he talked about how they now receive higher funding since Infantino became the FIFA president.

From what I understood from the recent report about the FIFA selling minority stakes, it'll not have any effect on how decisions are made even if they get the approval to sell the stakes.

The only thing i feel like saying is that football was born as a sport for the poor.

It's a people's sport and it has been that way for years and years. It has always given a lot to those who had little and it is a sport that must continue to be like this, encouraging children to dream of becoming players, and not increasing prices to be able to watch it.

As I understand it, this is an exception rather than a rule, given that 2030 marks the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup in Uruguay.
Only a few opening matches (3) will be held in South America, so this should not be a big problem for fans, it is more about the symbolism and jubilee of celebrating 100 years of the history of the World Cup.
What worries me much more is the attempt to commercialize the World Cup, namely the recent proposal by FIFA President Infantino to sell the ownership rights to the World Cup to private investors.
For now, under pressure from UEFA, the Asian and American football federations, he has given up on this idea, but I fear that this will happen soon and that the World Cup in football will become just a "market commodity" and lose touch with real fans.

I don't like people who turn a beloved and widely followed sport like football into a business factor. Because it's okay to earn money, it's okay to have your own compensation or your own profit, but football is for those who really love sport and for those who have used a large part of their life to follow this passion. And it's not right for it to be used as a commodity.

That's how it is. Infantino always sees money, money, and money, ignoring the fact that the World Cup shouldn't be overly commercialized like this. That's why what we see now is that FIFA has become an organization that favors those with money and power, rather than protecting the values of football. If this organization is to be restored, Infantino must be removed. As long as he remains in that position, FIFA will remain the same, or even worse.

I totally agree, Wales does too. In fact, Wales withdrew its vote to re-elect him as FIFA president candidate for 2027, precisely because it noticed attitudes that did not favor football as a sport, but rather personal interests. During this world championship it seemed that way to everyone.

Infantino is the one that put himself in a trouble, he has been doing some illegal activities and corruption in the World Cup and this time around he failed and he is facing one of the biggest problems of his career, he want to use 2030 world club for business which is not what he supposed to do, he should be thinking of how to make the World Cup will look good and make the fans enjoy it more than this 2026 World Cup that is corrupt with many bad officiating.

Infantino position is in danger because there are many groups or people that want him resign because he did not know what he is doing and it look like he doesn’t know his job as the president, many top leaders are against him and want him to step down or they they will do anything to make sure he did not win the election, there are many rumours that Trump is ready to support Infantino to continue as the FIFA president and that shows that trump and Infantino have a good relationship and what people are saying about it Real.

This same confusion on how the sharing formula to continents is what gives me sleepless night,  at times the decisions made by fifa all in the name of improvement is what is making football lose it value.
Last concluded world cup got to a stage where many questions on the straightforwardness of fifa got out, at first it was VAS sentimental decisions when it involves Argentina then that of Trump came when fifa was asked to look into a suspension given to US player, I will say Fifa needs to work of there mode of operation if not they will destroy football.

A wonderful initiative by FIFA, and I do love the fact they're giving room for the participation of more countries in the 2030 world, giving room for more nations to equally and compete and showcase their national team talents. Really, so bored seeing regular countries all the time. As they say, variety is the spice of life. We saw how this tournament was so interesting from the start to the finish of the competition. It makes sense to give room for the introduction of rules that will keep the competition alive and continue to be the best competition ever.
