When children are mature enough to understand, they should be taught about Bitcoin because if we want to teach them about Bitcoin, they will not be able to understand it easily. You are right that before giving any responsibility to children, they should be allowed to grow up gradually and you should let them enjoy their childhood.

As far as I know, learning about the complex technologies behind Bitcoin or crypto currency such as blockchain, cryptography or mining, decentralization is complicated, so how easy it will be depends on the age and mindset of a child. However it is easy to explain Bitcoin and its transactions to minors today because they are growing up with digital games, and the internet.

Kids learn fast, that is why while they are still small is the time to teach them about bitcoin. As long as they have reach an age where they can speak and communicate back to you whether in English or in your local language, you can teach them about bitcoin. believe me you wil be surprised by how fast they will keep up with your lessons.

You don't need to teach your kids about Blockchain technology, technicals or anything that will be too complex for them to understand because the lessons will be too complicating and they might not understand what you are teaching them, instead you should start from the basics which is how to buy, sell and move their bitcoin to a non custodial wallets. I believe once they are able to learn these things, they will develop a deeper interest as they grow up into acquiring more knowledge about bitcoin like in area of  technicals and Blockchain technology.

There are pros and cons to introducing Bitcoin to children, among which I think it is better not to introduce Bitcoin until they are adults. When a minor child starts learning about Bitcoin and its financial independence, that child can fall into greed. We know that greed knows no age, people of any age get greedy, so if they start learning about Bitcoin at a young age, it can be very challenging. Especially in the case of children, their education can be greatly damaged when they learn about financial management and business, they will not be very focused on their studies. And if they start learning about business and Bitcoin slowly and can keep it in a mastery until they become adults and gain experience, they will be able to achieve well in the future. There are many people who give their children ideas about Bitcoin and business, this is a good thing, but they should not be pressured for too long.  So, it is often seen that knowing the good aspects of Bitcoin will be useful in the future, so it is better not to tell children too much about it.

This means say children fit start to gather Bitcoin and money knowledge wey fit them like digital technology, scarcity, basic money management but no be to begin worry them with trading speculation. Make focus remain for money education and technology, explain risk and prepare them for future for more learning when them become teenagers and then adults.
For me, the best way to teach these younger ones is practically. You put in Bitcoin for them periodically and let them see it for themselves so they develop the mindset that Bitcoin is bought and held, and value is transferred from one address to another. Maybe sometimes you can allow them transfer value to their different wallets under close supervision so they get acquainted to the process. This would further aid any digital information your teaching them sink in because they're seeing it's application life and direct.

The practical implementation is a good idea but before the practical aspect the need for the basic understanding need to be the frontline. They needs to understand what they are dealing with and why they are dealing with it, they should understand what digital currency is and importantly what bitcoin is before we move them to the practical aspects of moving bitcoin from addresses to addresses and how long it takes for a transaction to be processed and how the transactions travels to the other nodes. They need to understand this gradually so it can sink into their brain. The risk in sending bitcoin to a wrong wallet and how the bitcoin can’t be retrieved back again and so on.

I agree with you, in the beginning it is very important to gain knowledge about the basics of Bitcoin, then it is better to gradually apply the practical aspects, when children understand the basics of Bitcoin, it will be much easier for them to use Bitcoin. They will understand better how Bitcoin works, its advantages and disadvantages, when children take time to learn about Bitcoin, it will be much easier to understand the basics of Bitcoin, so they will have fun applying it in real life. Through this, children will never forget that they will gain knowledge about Bitcoin.

                                                               The Bad
Volatility: this one na the first thing wey dey always make people fear about Bitcoin when dem dey learn about am, so if eh go fit scare some adults eh go scare children too at first but then eh still no be big deal when dey done understand am, maybe after knowing say Bitcoin dey recover after dip.

Complexity of Bitcoin: most of us adults still never understand the technical aspect of Bitcoin talk more of children for instance things like mempool, wallets, Keys and so on fit make dem feel say to make money go too tough for future.

So are these what you consider as the bad parts of bitcoin for kid and adults? So you're literally saying violatility and bitcoin technicals is bad for people to learn and understand? I'm just asking because when someone say, this particular thing is bad, they are trying to warni you to avoid them. Violatility of bitcoin should be the first thing a kid should learn when he/she is receiving lessons about bitcoin. Violatility is an essential concept of bitcoin that they must learn because it is something that they will experience when they're mature to invest in bitcoin, you can't dodge violatility when you're invest in bitcoin, as long as you're an investor, you must experience violatility,so there is a need to be acquainted with it otherwise you might panic sell because of price swings.

What makes you think that children can't learn and understand the technical aspects of bitcoin?  Where do you think learning begins from? Learning doesn't begin from your adulthood but from your childhood. Children can learn and understand bitcoin technical very well if they are taught well.

I understand your point here, I also agree that practical experience can make young ones to understand bitcoin more better than theory, because something that they know how it really works, is different from what they are hear. every child has different level of understanding, some children fined it difficult to understand theory, but once they see practical side, the lesson becomes more easy for them and understandable. Knowing the practical aspect, can also make it easy for them and know how to develop patience especially when dealing with money, because when they received little amount of instead of rush to sell it, they can easily remember the idea of saving for the future, and they easy they understand the practical aspect the more they can get prepared to make their own decisions. And I believe the practical aspect can do more than theory for younger ones.

You are absolutely right bro. Those parts he mentioned aren't bad parts per day. We just say it's the risk factor associated to Bitcoin, and it's not just Bitcoin, every other businesses or investment has its own risk factor. So it's normal for such to exist.

I thinks it's not a reason why people would scare away from investing, even adults or children. Everyone should be able to learn and develop themselves and invest wisely. About the topic generally, I think it's good one. Children should be taught early enough to learn investment and value investing over unnecessary spending. Am all in for it.

It’s certain that practical teaching makes an individual understand a thing faster than theory. You can be educating a child about bitcoin that it’s a decentralized currency and the child would find it difficult to comprehend because they need to see what you’re saying, not until they get exposed to what bitcoin is in a practical way they might find it tiring and confusing. But before doing that, the bitcoin should be under your supervision because children are not emotionally matured to withstand scammers on the internet as they can be easily convinced,so that could be one of the reasons to consider before setting up a wallet for them and again exposing them to bitcoin at a young age would make them money minded and they might start fantasizing things they’re not supposed to.

The age of those children should also be taken into consideration. Before the age of 18 let your children understand the digital asset called Bitcoin and take some more time to learn about transactions. When the child learns the basic principles of Bitcoin, later he will understand the importance of this asset and will be able to easily differentiate it from fiat.
I will not disagree with you that you have given importance to teaching Bitcoin through practically learning as well as the economic importance of Bitcoin should be understood during the introductory period because along with the basic study the knowledge gained about Bitcoin can make him successful in his financial development later.

First of all, make i start with congratulating myself for the Full Member rank i recently reach, the journey no easy but eh worth am cause i done learn many things from this forum so far. That one na gist for another day sha. Why I bring up this topic na because of say i come across one animation for YouTube wey go help children understand Bitcoin so i carry the video go show my uncle wey be Bitcoin enthusiast to play am for em children for their YouTube kids, my uncle say "na good idea but make we allow children to know children things and em no want them to wise pass their age". My fellow Naija Bitcoiners, na bad thing for children to wise atleast for the good cause?

I dey see how children for other countries like China dey learn science related things, something wey we no dey practice for our secondary school for naija but eh reach to begin teach children how to get investment mentality then know about Bitcoin wey be the future of money from tender age my uncle say "dem go wise pass their age" I no even worry the man, i just quickly go do small research on the pros and crons of exposing children to Bitcoin and from my research the advantage pass the disadvantage, check am out.

                                                           The Good
Early investment mentality: imagine say you been know about Bitcoin investment from early age, before you go even reach adult age begin they earn you done already understand the investment and how to manage am properly and by then you no go be newbie or make too many mistake like newbies.

Responsibility: i borrow this one from "Not your keys, not your coin" normally some children like to feel say if dem lose money their parents go replace am, but Bitcoin go teach them about responsibility, whereby dem go dey responsible for the security of their finance wey be one important thing people suppose take seriously about money or investment.

Value Bitcoin over Fiat: all of us go agree say cash done lose em value for this country, so eh go make sense say children understand am den develope the mentality to use Bitcoin as inflation hedge, then mind how they spend their parents money recklessly.

Exposure: Bitcoin na digital money and since we dey for digital era, eh mean say the future of money dey or go dey digitalised and eh good to expose our children to Bitcoin so them go understand, scarcity, investment, and the role of demand of supply for Bitcoin.

Parental guidance issues: eh good to expose children to money make opportunities but them also need parental control and na wetin many parents lack, some no even get time no monitor their children, always focus on work, pikin fit carry em parents money dash scammers for exchange where em dey try buy Bitcoin.

No be say I dey try bring up my family matter here but I want una to chook mouth for the matter, na bad thing to teach children about Bitcoin, or una feel say eh go make dem overwise like my uncle talk, I wan hear una opinion.
As for me I go say exposing younger ones to bitcoin na nice and good idea serious..... Why did I say so?....... This days children they learn more faster than some adult and when you expose them to bitcoin ideas way adult no get the younger ones go get more idea pass the adult Nigeria as a whole this generation let me say them dey born pikin come with sence you go see small pikin dey press phone perfectly well while some adult no fit till they teach them so I no see crime there teaching your children it telling them about bitcoin it's not a crime for me that's the good side ......................... While the bad side I can say children now days love money more than there parents and they can do anything possible to get it so in that case a child who has more knowledge on bitcoin can go ahead or want to scam people just for his one personal interest and at times it's cause by peer pressure or bad friends

We all now live in a world where technology is changing almost everything, including how people save, invest, earn, and transfer money. Today,  Bitcoin has become a major topic in financial discussions, and many young people are becoming curious about it. The truth is that introducing children to Bitcoin has both merit and development merit side. The good side is that Children who learn about Bitcoin can develop an early understanding of money, digital payments, savings, investments, and financial responsibility. While the bad side is that When children constantly see stories of people making huge profits, they may begin to believe that financial success comes without hard work, patience, or risk.
This mindset can encourage greed, impatience, and unrealistic expectations. As parents and members of society, we must remember that children need guidance, not pressure; education.

You are right sir and your points are valid because the children we raise this days are internet inclined and can do a lot of things through the internet, it's also good to give this children good background on Bitcoin so that they won't be mislead by the testimonies circulating the internet and thinking Bitcoin is like ponzi scheme where they can just fund it and in a flash start gathering profits from it.
They needed to be educated in the TOS of Bitcoin before they learn on the hard way, which has resulted a lot of people today seeing Bitcoin as a scam or an invalid business to invest in.

For me enh, this na one very big disadvantage wey be say need even more attention,  because firstly,  if the pikin no get guidance,  dem no go fit understand wetin Bitcoin be,  and when dem come understand am, some fit go use d knowledge in a bad way, e get some children wey fit later come dey exposed to bad friends and dem go come try wan pressure am to use that knowledge wey him don get for the wrong way, so dem go na put hands together come dey involved for things like to dey scam pipo, and since Bitcoin dey anonymous,  d pipo go hardly fit find out who dey scam dem.

But if the pikin get beta parental guidance,  dem go fear make dia parents no notice wetin dem dey do come punish dem, so dat fear alone go guide dem make dem no use the knowledge for bad tinz. Bitcoin no be wetin dem go allow children to dey do alone because e get risk wey be follow am wey be say e fit make money loss forever, if possible sef, make the children reach one certain age b4 tou go carry dem involv for the Bitcoin mata sef.

Me i go talk direct say e no bad to expose children to Bitcoin early,  but make we limit how much you expose dem to know at a time for that early stage, just try make you dey show dem small small dey follow dia age till dem don reach wen e be say dem go fit handle am alone.

A child that have not gotten to the age of 18 should not be taught about bitcoin as this is the normal age a child will get before he or she will start looking into some certain things and not even all. It's just like as it is in gamble that under 18 should not gamble because they know a child within the age of 15-17 can be so naive and they can easily make mistake.
I know bitcoin investment is far from gambling but even at that we are supposed to apply that rules of under 18, because there are some certain things that kids are not meant to know not until they grow up.

Note the mentality of greed do not depend on age but on one's mentality towards situations, majority of people been mislead by greed today are adults and not children. Talking of damaging their education because of the benefits they stand to gain is wrong but the idea of bitcoin damaging their moral life, behavioural patterns and reasoning is justifiable, but  reasons for not teaching your children about bitcoin should not be nailed to greed.
To me i think exposing my children to bitcoin is a perfect idea because it will help build their thinking ability and channel their reasoning towards profit generating activities as bitcoin is all about making profitable decisions.

Bitcoin itself is not against anyone's morality or does not destroy logic. What will be good or bad for a child depends on how Bitcoin is being taught, whether someone understands the risks of investment or not and what is their attitude towards profit, which are more important. Bitcoin is a bit of a complex technology and if a child is given knowledge about the technology while keeping investment optional, then there is no problem. So I think no knowledge can be bad, it is bad when we present its use in the wrong way.

Another thing is that we cannot learn everything at once in a short time to gain knowledge. We have to learn step by step, in that case if children are also taught everything step by step, then of course learning about Bitcoin technology can be age-appropriate knowledge for children.

A child changes gradually as they grow older. Children minds are soft and will learn what you teach them, but it will take them longer to develop a sense of importance for a specific topic. Although the initial period for most children is considered to be 18 years, geographically a child mentality may need a few more years to change.

I think it is good to teach children about Bitcoin from an early stage but it would be reasonable to set a higher age for transactions. I think it is important for a child to be 22 years old to buy or sell Bitcoin.

Most children do not understand the importance of financial matters when they are children. They may not understand the importance of money since they do not earn money themselves. They are also more likely to make wrong decisions because they are young.

Even at very little ages, simulations can help build their brains in the right direction, I've come to understand that the mentality of children are conditioned right from the visuals they are exposed to earlier in life and the books they read when they're learning spelling. It is the duty of parents to guide them properly to expose them gradually to the right information. Even as they are very little, you can build a bitcoin simulation and add it to the images they view on their Ipad, Children should start developing financial consciousness from a very little age. My cousin allowed his son to be deceived by a scrap man when selling some iron scraps to him so he could learn practically not to trust random people and that is how practical learning should be.

A father who knows about Bitcoin and it's investing in Bitcoin wouldn't do him self any good if he never passed any knowledge about Bitcoin to his children, most children of these generation dey very smart and they learn and understand things very fast but there are age needed for them to start knowing about Bitcoin so that anytime they find it right to start investing in Bitcoin nothing will be new for them.
There is not bad side about Bitcoin investment if you understand it, just invest for a long time, know that Bitcoin is volatile and never invest with money you will be needing soon.
