For you, what do you prefer? will you like to be loved as a boss or feared? , and do you see see compliments as important from an employer.
For me, I would prefer to be loved by my staffs that's because when your loved, you be respected and they will really work hard to impress you. They won't hide any sensitive information from you and their will be honest with their feedbacks regarding their experiences with customers. Some managers or CEOs don't appreciate the efforts of their staffs that are performing well in their company and it's not good because it can demoralised the staff to an extent and sometimes they may even resigned from their jobs. I think every staff wish to be appreciated or receive compliments from their boss because that is what makes them feel valued. Sometimes how much you pay your staff doesn't mean that you shouldn't appreciate or compliment them when they do a fantastic job. Exactly, some people think that in being a boss, they have to be very strict and feared by their workers but being too strict isn't a good way to command respect cause they're humans and when love and kindness is given it would be reciprocated with respect but when a boss is too strict it could attract secret hatred from workers. Let me use myself as an instance, I tend to do better when I receive compliments for a job well done, it motivates me to maintain good standards and improve too, so as a boss I think it would be nice to compliments staff for a good job so they can do better instead of discouraging them with strictness whereas the job was weldone.

Should workers always look forward to being complimented or encouraged by their employers?
I listened to some people have a conversation and were complaining about the attitude of their employer being too strict and not complimenting them whenever they do a task or complete a job. This had me thinking about the importance of such compliments and encouragements even asides the salary that the employer pays them for the job. Do you see this as also important because some people will prefer as bosses to be feared than to be loved. For you, what do you prefer? will you like to be loved as a boss or feared? , and do you see see compliments as important from an employer.
Take it or leave it, compliment always have it impact on an employee, it gives them This extra motivation in doing their task. Being a complimenting boss is one of the features of a good manager, it shows your appreciate your employees, you value the work they put in every day in the company. Thought some boss feels the salary being payed should be able to do the work and motivate their employees enough. If I’m a employee today, I would prefer a complimenting boss, a boss they respect it employees, a boss that will shows he appreciates my work at the company. For me a feared boss will not have an impact on employee than a boss that is respected.

Many would say that doing a good job is simply fulfilling your obligation; after all, that is what you are paid for. However, a boss who recognizes and praises your performance certainly encourages you to do even better and makes it clear that your work meets expectations. Just don't become obsessed with it; keep doing your job.

What you say is true. As employees we shouldn't be obsessed with praise from our superiors, because being overly obsessed can actually disappoint us. But on the other hand it's not impossible that we'll leave when we have the opportunity to work elsewhere because we'll accept it. So, I want to position both sides. It's best to balance both sides, as balance is key for companies to retain their employees and for employees to feel comfortable working there. As employees, of course they must do their jobs well and responsibly, not out of obsession. But as superiors, it's also best to provide recognition and praise. This is very good for increasing employee motivation and loyalty as humans generally need to be appreciated. What I mean is, as employees, do your best without being obsessed and as superiors, give appreciation without expecting perfection the results will be mutually beneficial.

You are thinking this way because you have not had a bad experience with a rugged staffs. Some employees behaves well when you show them why they are been hired. There are some that you don't need to show them altitude and behavior, whatever you give them, they are going to do their job accurately but some don't work under normal condition until you show them you are not satisfied with you want from them especially if you are tired of talking. I will also like to address the love part, you can be choose to be friendly with your employees outside the work and be strict in your workplace, this will save your job than allow some ill behavior in your work place. If you become too friendly and comfortable with some people, they don wouldn't be able to know boundaries, they wouldn't be able to differentiate between time of work and time for break.

I get what you saying, if employed, doing a good job is an obligation, it more like you exchanging your time and skill for money, so meeting the basic requirement of your role is the least of that contract. If your fail to do that you are then not fulfilling your part of the contract or assignment. So when you Get a boss who compliments your work is not just being nice to your but he his giving you a signal that You are doing great. Compliments from your boss also provided social proof that you are on the right path. It also builds psychological safety, which enables you to offer more ideas. What you say is true. Yea, balancing both side will really have a good effect on every organization. From the employees side, you Should know that you need to do your best not everything. An employee don’t need to over work himself just because he wants to proof worthy to is employers. While on the employer side, they should always try to appreciate in currency, giving out bonus, or giving cash to best staff of the month. They shouldn’t expect perfectionism all the time, we are humans and we can make mistakes some times.

Honestly, appreciation is important but I don’t believe employees should expect constant compliments for simply doing their job. A simple good job or thank you from a manager can go a long way in boosting morale and making people feel valued. Personally, I have worked with people who were very strict but fair, the manager didn’t praise often, but when he did it meant something to me, that kind of recognition motivates people more than empty compliments given every day. If I were a boss, I would rather be respected than feared. When they fear me it might get everything done in short time and fast but respect builds trust, loyalty and a healthier working environment. So a good leader should know when to correct mistakes and when to acknowledge good work.

I once worked for a lady who was very strict, with zero tolerance, she barely complimented a job well done, but is always pointing at little errors, I was never comfortable around her and wished I could find a better place.
When I found one, I didn't even send a resignation letter before leaving. The new place I found was so much better than the first, the man had a great relationship with all his staffs no one was afraid to approach him about anything, you can freely share ideas with him and with that, the organization grew so well, no one crossed boundaries and we all knew our place and really loved our boss. And again I found another job that pays much better than what he gave, but it was so hard to leave, it took me a very long time before leaving that place because of the relationship he built with all of his staffs, he appreciates effort and when there's a complaint, I give my best to make sure it works out well, not because of his compliments but because I genuinely took the job as mine, so I wanted growth for that organization.
It really doesn't take much to be kind and build an environment where people wouldn't be scared to talk to you, especially when you're an employer, the growth of your business depends on how healthy your relationship with your staff is. Humans do more when appreciated, even if it's a little when you address an issue and you see it's being applied, the least you should do is give a compliment to show you want more of that.
I'll always chose being loved as a boss over being too strict or feared.

I don't expect that an employee would be praised for failing to meet up the demands in a workspace, every boss has the right to query their staff when they're not doing well, even though it demands being tough to an extent to straighten the worker or fire a particular worker for doing something that could ruin the company's reputation, that's understandable. But it shouldn't be for every employee except the boss employed bunch of lossers which is rare in most cases. What I'm trying to say is that compliments should be given to whom it's due, vise versa to employees that doesn't deserve it. Mind you, complimenting or encouraging your employees doesn't mean you're being to friendly.

I believe it's quite appropriate that we as employees don't need praise from our superiors. This is because, if we encounter a problem that causes our superiors to suffer a small loss, we won't receive the same praise as before. This means that as employees, we engage in activities that convince us that by working here, we can consistently improve sales and achieve maximum results. Ultimately, our superiors will also appreciate our efforts, which contribute to the continued growth and sustainability of their company. As long as our superiors treat us well, we're unlikely to look for another job, because the comfort they provide us is what makes us feel comfortable at work. So, if we receive such treatment, I don't think it's necessary to accept another job, even if the pay is sometimes higher than our current one. Many things happen, and we often hear the saying that it's good where you don't work. However, if we work in a new place, there's one thing we can't reap. So, I think once we've achieved comfort, it's better to stop looking elsewhere and simply enjoy what we have, without expecting praise from our superiors every time we do our work. In a company, of course, as you mentioned, it's important to implement and implement a balance between superiors and employees. This is to prevent things that could lead to bankruptcy. I once worked at a clothing store, and I clearly understood what it's like to work in a place without a balance. Ultimately, I chose to resign because my superior's behavior made me choose to leave. This is because I don't need to bother with other people's companies, especially every time I want to convey a problem, it is always belittled by his siblings, so I think our superiors do not provide balance so that there are solutions for the sake of the running of existing companies or businesses, so this idea is very noticeable to me during my time as an employee with unbalanced treatment from superiors, because what we need to understand is the success of each company or business, of course the balance between superiors and employees needs a concept in achieving success in the company or business.

The owners of every companies expect good work from their employees. In return for that good work, employees may get praise, but most of the employers do not praise their employees. They expect more work. The better your performance, the more responsibility they will give you. The most positive thing is that your salary will increase according to your performance and getting more responsibility means your salary will increase. Never expect praise from the owners because they will not talk much or ask questions outside of your work.

Of course, compliments from an employer is very important. it shows that you are doing your job properly, Because sometimes an employee may feel that they are working hard but they don't get compliment from their boss, that is to show that they didn't meet up the requirements.
But the moment you start getting compliments from your boss or your employer, it means that you meet up the requirements, so compliment is one of the things that shows how hard working we are and if we are doing what is expected from us.
Exactly, that's true. I think many people values this compliments more than anything else because it shows that you are doing the needful things for your boss. So I think it's necessary to always give compliments to the people that deserve it, because it's obvious that not all workers deserve to be complimented. Not everybody is hard working. There are many lazy people who always want to be complimented, which doesn't make sense at all.

Employees always see compliment as a way of saying thanks for a job well done, now it’s normal to assume or have thoughts of not doing the job perfectly fine since there’s no compliment, no doubt staying in that position and still getting a nice amount of salary shows the employer is satisfied with the service provided, some even get promoted without receiving compliments. Some boss are just locked up which is clearly understandable, not getting compliment is actually not a problem but, when a worker is being applaud for their service you observe they intend to do more like there’s a joy attach to praise.

Just because they get paid doesn’t mean you shouldn’t appreciate their efforts. I don’t know if you have managed a business or a company before, then you will know the importance of complementing your employees. Why do you think some companies pay their staffs bonus? It’s also a compliment, and it’s going to motivate your employees to perform better later in future, which is also going to help your company.
Just because you are paying them for their job doesn’t mean you shouldn’t compliment them, if your staffs are not happy with you, then they might not put much efforts in what they are suppose to do. We should know everything is not just about money, what some people need is just for you to appreciate them, and they going to put more effort in whatever they are doing.
Yes. I don't think one should be praised for merely doing some mundane task in the workplace. I perfectly understand the importance of appreciating employees efforts in the workplace. But then, the employee ought to have worked to have earned that compliment. You seem to think I'm of the opinion that an employer shouldn't motivate or compliment employees. If you entertain that thought, you're dead wrong. If an employee is deserving of compliments or praises due to great feats displayed in the completion of his tasks, then withholding such accolades is plain wrong and demotivating. I know all about the various means companies go about in motivating their employees. Do you think a company would pay their employees bonus pay if they aren't making good profit in the business?
