I dont think that premier league will win from withdrawing casino logos from shirts. Removing sponsor from shirt is like turning down cancel with sponsor. When casinos current contract with sports clubs comes to an end, they would not sign new contract with same conditions. They might even leave. What that will cause to clubs? Players will receive lower salaries and sponsor bonuses. Players that are used to receive millions per season, after receiving, for example 2/3 of they used to earn, during several seasons will either play worse, or will think about moving to other leagues.

My question is that If it is displayed anywhere apart from the front, does it change anything? I can't measure the effectiveness of such policy, but it's pretty interesting to me how the effectiveness of such policy can be measured. 1.Sociology agencies conducting surveys asking football fans about their usage of sports betting platforms and prediction markets? Does this seem like a correct approach to measure the results of such campaign? Or perhaps somebody should ask the betting platforms and prediction markets for information about the amount of new users, who signup to their platforms and is there any major change, after the brand names where removed from football jerseys?

Each place on the shirt has a greater or lesser exposure that is measured and to which a value is assigned. If it was decided to remove it from the front, I am convinced that it was because it has been shown that it is where it achieves greater visibility and, therefore, it was seen as more appropriate to reduce its impact, than not to eliminate it.

It is surely an insufficient decision for the reasons you mentioned, but given the underage audience that enjoys football, I think it is definitely positive.

I have not read this whole piece of news, about how the club with this decision whether to have a drop in revenue or not.

This decision does not seem really effective if it just shifts the logo to another part of the shirt, since it will still get shown on camera during the whole match. Also the ad boards on the side of the pitch still show gambling ads very clearly the whole game. If the real goal is to protect kids from gambling exposure, the rule should probably be made stricter not just about where the logo sits on the jersey.

About Stake, the case looks similar. They are still a sponsor for Everton, but the logo is no longer in the middle of the shirt it moved to another spot, and the main front position is now taken by a non gambling sponsor because of the new rule.

This action can surely have some effects since children all over the world watch football games and they love some of the teams and players so much that they would always follow them and do what they do or promote. However, this isn't going to be enough. Are they also going to ban gambling-related advertisements in stadiums where people come to watch the games? There are a lot of underage kids who come to watch those games live, so if they are going to ban placing names and logos on the front of their shirts, they should also ban displaying ads on ad spaces available within or outside the stadiums because we often see casinos being promoted through them.

I also remember reading a news where it said that Australia is going to ban gambling ads from displaying on TV, which I thought was a good step to keep the underaged safe from encountering these stuff at ages where they shouldn't be watching or knowing anything about these. The same thing or similar actions should be taken from all countries if they really care about their children and don't want them to see such ads on TV commercials or anywhere where they can possibly be seen by kids very often.

I personally think this doesn't change anything, provided the name are still incorporated in the jerseys it's still visible to everyone and football is not the only place children can see gambling ads, in fact there are most site with these uncontrollable ads of sport betting and online casino game made easy to decide people, if they are truly concerned about reducing gambling exposure to children, then those site too needs to have their own share of this ban.

Yes, fewer children watch live games, but Premier League highlights, YouTube clips and social media reels can impact younger audiences than ever before could stadium games. Child who has never watched full match, sees sleeve sponsor of Salah in 30second popular online clip. There is big example of Australia, where all gambling advertising on live sport broadcasts was banned completely before, during and after the games. Early evidence shows that there is clear reduction in youth exposure. That is fix in the structure. Changing logo from chest to sleeve is not.

The more ads that are being spread across the country, the lesser the impact that this change would have. Given that tons of gambling advertisements have started to plague the modern world, expect anytime soon that every corner of your street would be full of gambling ads.

Sure, this could at least lessen the curiosity of the younger generation. However, this change is just a drop in the ocean- tackle the root cause of gambling instead of implementing band-aid solutions. Everton has changed its front shirt sponsorship, but their contract with stake is still continue by changing stake logo to the sleeve of everton shirt for EPL next season. It's already announced since last month by some of everton fans page.
