House rent is a global concern, the landlords are becoming something else, they are just after money. Without consideration, some landlords will not renovate the building or any maintenance but they will increase rent every year.
As citizens we have to use our heads in every situation, we must survive it, in you're new in a city don't stay in the city central, go to a place where you can afford for the moment till you level up don't put yourself unnecessary pressure for house rent, rent within your earn. It's not getting easier, save to build your personal house, to avoid rent, that should be your dream.
Although to an extent I don't blame them for there actions in rent increment because the price of commodities now is uncontrollably high that the market can no longer be predicted. In my country today the amount needed to build any apartment is 4 times that of what it used to be years back and the only way of getting it back is by increasing the cost of rent. I know many may be tempted to ask if am in full support of this increment of rent but am of the opinion that the government needs to intervene are help in reducing the cost of commodities so it can be easy for a common man to get his own house.

Perhaps in 10 to 20 years, my neighborhood will be even more bustling. Data shows a higher birth rate, which means demand for housing will also increase. So, it's no surprise that housing prices will continue to rise year after year. In the last 10 years alone, we can see the population growth rate.
This has been an increasing issue in a lot of countries around the world. There is no population control, and this causes a lot of issues in the long-term because when there is no proper control over the population and people aren't advised to take care of this, problems such as a higher demand for accommodation and housing increase over time, but people and even governments often overlook this issue and don't give it much importance. Even in our country, the prices of houses and properties keep increasing over time, and so is the population, which means that after a decade or so, both the prices of properties and houses as well as the population will be touching the sky. Places which used to be open fields in the past are now getting turned into housing schemes, and this is all because of the rising population. Governments need to run campaigns and spread awareness among people regarding this to control it. The impacts are significant. We can see land conversion, with oxygen-producing forests being converted into housing and other forms of housing. This is a problem that requires immediate solutions. Although the government in my country has launched a "2-Child-Is-Better" program, the reality is that many people ignore it. It's no surprise, then, that natural disasters occur everywhere, many of which are caused by humans. In my country, landslides, floods, and other disasters occur almost every year, and the cause is environmental degradation. One factor contributing to this is the exploding population.

In many countries, house prices have risen far more than wages, making it increasingly difficult for ordinary people, particularly first-time buyers, to afford a home. As people continue to move to large cities in search of better opportunities, the demand for housing keeps growing. In addition, many investors buy properties not to live in, but to benefit from rising prices.
•What could be the possible solution?
Every generation has had the same complaint but there has definitely been a growing divergence between wages and house prices. It seems inevitable with the colossal population growth and immigration that we see in most countries. Poorer countries have an overpopulation problem and will often have many people living in very small accommodation which they would be lucky to have any hope of owning along with the land it sits on. Richer countries constantly have housebuilders claiming that they're building x million homes, yet we always seem to have a struggle of not enough new accommodation. I think in some of those countries people saw what happened with Covid and actually don't like going for apartments any more, but rather jumping straight to a house (albeit with minuscule gardens), which puts creates pressure to build actual houses instead of compact multi home buildings.

Why is the topic name so categorical, OP? If housing is unaffordable, then who's buying it?And I do not know what happened in your country before, but in my country housing has always been expensive, and it is disproportionate to compare the cost of housing and wages. At what time did you plan the purchase? For what period? How much should your apartment cost? There are a lot of useless questions, since everyone knows that loans exist in countries or people independently accumulate the amounts required to buy a home. I will say more: for those who do nothing, naturally buying a home becomes an impossible goal. However, there are other people who know how to work and think and have more than one apartment or house but even rent out the housing that they do not need at some point. Can this be called inaccessible? Or is the problem in the person?

Reducing the cost of building materials and other consumables goods in the country, and it will make the landlords, landlady's and consumers in the country to reduce the price of housing, land and goods and services to allow the citizens to have peace of mind in their their environments, some of the countries that is not experiencing what other citizens are experiencing today are those countries that have governments who don't care about their citizens living because they know what their citizens are going through which is their responsibility to reduce the price of every product in the country but they failed to do what is right.

I know the rate of inflation is increasing and it will definitely affect the price of renting houses, but the truth must be told. Most homeowners and agents are using inflation to their advantage to make more money.
You can't assume that most house owners are using inflation to thier advantage, you also need to consider the money they spent while building those apartments and also, how standard is the apartment, this are the things that increase the price of rent. Although you might be right about that. but I don't think if there is anyone who is using inflation to thier advantage especially in this aspect, if it's in other aspect like business, I can easily agree with you. Although I know the price of rent here might not be the same over there, but if that's how most people are doing over there then I would say that it's not fair. I'm not saying the prices are not supposed to increase; for sure, the price of building materials is very expensive, which is why the price of rent will be high as well. But if we are to be frank, these prices are very high, and many workers can't afford them. There are some prices that have gone up, but they are still fair. Where I come from is a place where the government doesn't control the price of rent, but property owners set the amounts for their rentals, and most owners increase it so much that the price is not fair. Owners have the right to increase their property prices, but they should be considerate and not take advantage.

What could be the possible solution?
I think the problem here is not just the rise in house prices, but the fact that asset prices are rising faster than people's incomes. If a new worker saves regularly and finds that after a few years he is no longer able to pay the down payment as before with his savings, then simply saving more is not a sufficient solution. The purchasing power of cash savings can also decrease due to inflation. However, I would say it is not be right to blame investors entirely here. If supply is low, there is pressure for the price of any asset to rise.

Honestly, I would point to supply and demand to blame for the rise in housing expenses... the problem is that everyone wants areas that have all the luxurious amenities such as the gyms, sports facilities, malls , clubs you name it... and what this does is that competition for good accommodation just pushes price up as demand continues to rise and the only way to afford decent housing is to avoid these luxury locations and you will be okay, otherwise if you want something that checks all your boxes be ready to pay a premium Yes, the point is, in this case, those with a lot of money are the winners, and those without will have a difficult time affording a luxury home. So, of course, we need a substantial financial and income base to afford a home in the location we desire. But sometimes I also like to imagine what the next 10 years will be like. Will competition for a good home be fiercer? What do you think? For the next 10 years. But I think the most important thing is to be grateful for what we have now and strive to continuously improve our economy, as economic competition in the future has the potential to be even fiercer.

Inflation is the cause of it and it is happening in every sector and not just in housing. I remember asking someone about a business I could do that I won’t have issues with the one been put in charge to look into the business for me and he said immediately that building a house and putting it out for rentals is one of the lucrative businesses now. I was shocked hearing that but after doing my research more on how building materials are getting more expensive, landlords also tend to increase their house rents. Even old houses are now increasing their initial cost of renting an apartment to meet up with the current price of building materials in the market now. The only solution is the prices of building materials falling down, if not falling down, we may continue to see the rise for years to come from now.
Inflation is not the only cause behind increasing cost of housing. Cost of land, construction material, transportation and labour financing are all thing that increase prices of housing way higher and rent is also increasing. At the same time, demand for the houses are increasing as people are more convenient in living alone compared to living in families. In the past, when prices of rent are increasing, landlords are increasing the rent even though the construction cost has nothing to do with it. Waiting for prices of material to fall is not solution to solve the problem. Both government and private sector need to increase supply of affordable house for everyone. You should also improve the infrastructure and create policies that make construction affordable for everyone.

What solution do you mean? Is it in the context of how people can own a home when housing prices are already out of reach? If this is true, my solution is to choose a contract or rental system, depending on each individual's circumstances. If you're still living alone, perhaps renting a room in a rental property is sufficient, but if you have a wife and children, choosing a suitable-sized house and not choosing a house in the city center is the best option, in my opinion. House and property prices increase every year. This is understandable, as price increases can be caused by rising prices of goods, such as materials. The reason for the increase is the country's inflation rate. What are you going to do if you have a job in the city. Why would anyone even rent a home in the city if they don't have a job in the city? If you look at the average house in New York, they are very expensive that I think peer pressure is just making some people want to rent those houses, I will move away to other city where I can have the same job if I'm.gking to spend half of my pay check on house rent, tiny house where you can't even spread leg but very expensive. OMG. The solution is simple, stay where you can afford. You don't have to build a home. Some people do it because of their kids and family but you realize that the kids you are building house for will not stay with you for long. When they are ready to move out, they are gong to get their place and start their life. If you have plan on retiring one day and rest, build in places where there is less demand, it does not mean you will build cheap but better than in Cities, prices of materials are incomparable. This is true, building materials have skyrocketed within just 2 years since the last time I went for prices on the materials, it's going to be near impossible for people to build a house in the future. Even if the country turned better in the future these things won't go down ever again, America is a good example, this country is better than mine but taxes are killing them over there. The major problem is housing over there, ordinary wood house cost like two kidneys, they every varies states by states, that's pretty so messed up and scary.

~ We commodified the one thing people need to feel okay. And then we wonder why no one feels okay.
Well, what can we do? Houses or flats have to be bought or rented; there’s no other possibility. I'd suggest renting a flat. If you look up prices in NY, you'll be shocked how high they are, but I personally new a girl who was not rich and not with a high salary, and yet she managed to live in Manhattan. Together with two of her friends(both females) they were renting a tiny flat for $3,000/month and they were able to live a pretty good life earning less than $3,000/month each as hairdressers.

•What could be the possible solution?
A global financial crisis due to housing bubble in 2007-2008 could work… In it’s absence, the only solution is self-control and financial planning. Like in the case of the three hairdressers mentioned above: they did their calculations, I’m sure that they have also cut their spending on unnecessary things, and they can afford to live in one of the most expensive places in the world. But many people - I see it in my country, want to but a house and still have a lot of money left for partying, making expensive trips and other luxuries. So their problem: they see how much they would have to sacrifice from their lifestyle, and they are not willing to do it. Please do not confuse with people whose personal circumstances do not allow them to access decent housing, which is a social disgrace.

What could be the possible solution?
As if there's a solution. That's a global problem, whether you live in a 1st world or 3rd world country, you'll face the same problem. Average or rich people have to deal with it. What else can we do if not work harder and practice frugality? We can't do anything to stop it or at least lessen the cost. Save, buy, and build as soon as you can coz the price will keep going up, that's a fact. Maybe that's also the reason why others choose to rent instead of owning one, but for the long term, owning one is still better for me. But I can't blame them coz the prices of lots, materials, and labor costs have really increased, so even if they want one, their budget says no.

It is extremely difficult to address this issue, as populations in every country continue to grow—driving up the demand for housing—while prices become increasingly expensive and unaffordable for lower-income groups. Certain individuals inevitably exploit this situation for profit, capitalizing on a housing demand that far outstrips average income levels.
