If it's only the Coldcard issue that's bugging the market, I don't think the price will fall below $50,000. It may be a fundamental issue that shakes a significant number of solid supporters and hodlers to the core, but I don't think that's enough to affect the price to the extremes.
If it's just part of the bear market or the 4-year cycle, the more reason I don't think Bitcoin could go as low as $43,000 as Terpin predicted.
I think the market needs a bigger reason for it to shed more than 30% further, possibly hitting the bottom in October to November, which is just 2-3 months from now.

In reality, not that many people use Coldcard or even noncustodial wallet. I agree that this is not a big enough issue to shake the market or cause a serious Bitcoin sell off. Regarding bear market, Bitcoin is currently down around 48-50% from its ATH, which is a relatively modest drop compared to previous cycle. So if history repeats itself, it could still drop below $50k. Lastly, sometime Bitcoin does not need a specific reason to go down. Just look at what happened in late 2025 and early 2026. Bitcoin reached $126k and then quickly fell to $60k, without any major event causing the drop.

Anything to make headlines, I see. Terpin spoke a lot that I question the most, but I will agree with him on one thing: "the bottom may not yet be over". However, experience has made Bitcoin Godfathers believe that Bitcoin must break up to 80% of its ATH before it feels like a true bottom. I'm not here to doubt them, but I have this conviction about Bitcoin not going below $40k. Ultimately, this is not an issue everyone is entitled to predict Bitcoin trajectory whether in the short or long term knowing full well that no prediction can be perfectly accurate. Even when forecasts clash with some predicting a drop to $40k and others anticipating a rise to $80k these individuals prepare for any scenario. Their primary focus remains buying at lower prices as they are all convinced that Bitcoin is a vital asset for the future.
It is not an issue until it becomes a challenge for everyone when some folks start spreading FUD with an unrealistic price. Being entitled to our own opinion isnt what we are against. It's the idea of setting unrealistic targets that I find wrong.

We just need to ignore speculations that we consider unrealistic. There's no need to care about what is being said, even if it comes from someone very influential. When one or two speculations eventually miss the mark and turn out to be nonsense, basically the people who followed those speculations will stop believing them too. But it's true that unrealistic price target speculations definitely spark debates. And maybe that's exactly what he's looking for.

I don't think Michael Terpin's $43,500 prediction is unrealistic. Bitcoin could drop to that amount if something negative happens. Global economic and political happenings affect the price of Bitcoin. You are right that we shouldn't allow people's predictions to make us change our investment plans. My DCA investment strategy cannot be altered by mere speculation. There are enough materials on the forum and other sources to dispel this FUD.

I think it’s obvious that anyone who decides to invest in BTC or any other asset should, first and foremost, conduct their own analysis and make their own decisions, rather than relying on someone else’s predictions. As for the possibility of the bearish trend continuing and dropping below $50k, unfortunately, that scenario is still possible. In fact, BTC is currently trading around a key level on which its future movement heavily depends. Specifically, if BTC’s movement from the beginning of summer to the present has been nothing more than consolidation, then a further decline is possible. At the same time, in my view, a positive scenario is possible only if the bulls take the initiative right now and break through the downtrend line.

This month of August, I hope we could see bitcoin go more bullish and claim the $66,000 market price and make it to $70,000 thereafter, with what I have seen from my speculation, we are going to see much of the support with the market and this is more likely to happen anytime soon if you could check the market can do on the chart, there is more indication pointing towards this pattern of move anytime soon in this month.

Honestly I do believe that going under 60k is very possible but that doesn't mean you should 100% depend on it happening, if it doesn't then you will miss the bottom, the only option left will be to FOMO when the price start going higher, this is why my own method is to keep replying capital when I can.
If the price of Bitcoin was to fall more I would not be surprised and neither will I get angry because that is an opportunity for us to continue to DCA so I do not get bothered with all this prediction of the market falling from all this top names in the crypto currency space. $60,000 is a cheap price but if the market wants to fall below $40k then I would not be angry instead I will consider it more opportunities for me to buy more bitcoin. I see the market falling more but I think we are not going to experience $40k anytime soon as the market still has alot buying power left in it, hence all hope are not lost yet.

These are mate predictions coming from different people based on their personal experiences and how they understand Bitcoin. Anyone can predict Bitcoin including me and you so I don't see anything special about this news that is worth giving too much attention to. The truth is that as of now bitcoin is under a very rough part in terms of it price, it's not advisable for anyone to make predictions that they are not sure of because, you may end up going the opposite side if the price doesn't go your way. Volatility is at its peak and Bitcoin can get to or even slide down further than this $43,500k to $50000 that is been projected by these people.
What is important in this type of situations is to be focused and not give too much attention, because when you give your attention to these types of news it has a way of robbing off on you, especially for those who may be New to Bitcoin. Focus on accumulating Bitcoin knowing, that this is a temporary decline which will reverse back on top it just a matter of time.

I also wish the same thing but what the market has shown us in recent times does not give anyone the confidence to trust such thing. Right now Bitcoin is close to your target but the question is, will it hold? The speed with which Bitcoin drops each time we think that they market is finally ready to rise, makes it hard to trust any move that have not broken through $82 which is a target that signifies a major shift in market sentiment.

The fact that Bitcoin is volatile makes it unpredictable. Anyone can come up with their own predictions based on their assumptions. Although most of the time you can be lucky to predict the actual figures that Bitcoin might reach, and most of the time you might be totally wrong, that's crypto for you. This is part of this discussion about Michael Terpin the topic.
What do you think about his prediction? I still think bitcoin is not going below $50000.
When bitcoin was at $7000 in the past, some people thought it will not fall below $5000, but after bitcoin increased to $8000, it later fall and there was a time it fall sharply below $3900. Some people can think this kind of scenario can happen again, but bitcoin is not volatile like those days.
You are right mate, Bitcoin doesn't move like the previous years. Most people expect it to drop even below $40k before they start buying it, they have forgotten that 2015 has passed and can't come back, so my point here is that it's likely impossible that Bitcoin will fall to $10,00k rate, not to mention falling back to $5,000k.

It might and might not happen, alot of these predictions have been made multiple times over the years, yet they haven't happened. Some will say it's price dip beyond $40k . With the global unrest that is still happening, and likely not end soon, it could still impact Bitcoin. And if it continues more longer investors could become more cautious and try to sell off their stash, especially if Bitcoin dips further beyond its current $60k+ range. For the past few months, Bitcoin price has been swinging between $60k-$65k. I don't even expect any huge bullish momentum from Bitcoin for the rest of this year, but it can probably pump to $70k during the last months of the year.
