When I been dey much younger, I been dey stay for Port Harcourt, and na during 2006 to 2011, and na for Abuja waterside. Those wey dey for PH grow actually know watin I dey talk about because during those years e just be like war film, everyday running up and down, most times na even during daytime not to talk about night. But right now I con dey hear say that place now dome fine finish and the previous governor done transform the place from ghetto to something good

Well, all this thing wey I dey talk above na to point out say no be today way Port Harcourt begin rough, and the truth be say people wey dey for Port Harcourt grow get one particular lifestyle. And those wey dey easily dey influence environment, na those places wey you mention dey easily affect pass.

Talking about agbero matter, no be today e start, and no be for only PH e dey. If you go most places wey dey very busy, you go confirm am say PH on sef fit dey learn. But no be that one matter, watin matter be say make government put eyes down to lessen this looting of a thing for most places because e fit even discourage most people to visit there sef.

My brother for Nigeria today agbero na one of the most recognised body way they enforce law even pass the way others do,  i don't know if i will say its the right given to them that makes them behave like that at all time.
Its time agbero needs to be stopped in this country because they at times go across there boundaries in behaviour. How can an ordinary civilian make decisions and can not be changed by any other body in the country.

This matter of agbero operating for road na something wey don dey in existence long time ago, right from the time of our former Governor of Rivers State in the person of "Nyesom Wike" and even in the time of "Amaechi". But it's just sad say since this current administration came into power and since then we all know how our local government chairmen not having regards for the governor, made him to overlook so many things in the state, most especially this issue of agbero terrorizing the state. And this issue of agbero is something I don't think would have been any challenge to the State government at all, because all the need is just pass a law prohibiting them, and the next morning they are gone for good. But one thing should be that if agberos are removed from the street, government should be able to provide jobs to keep them busy.

I agree with you. The issue of agberos operating on the roads is not something that started with this administration; it has been around for years, even during the Amaechi and Wike administrations. But the bigger concern is why it has continued for this long when the government has the authority to regulate or completely ban their activities.

If the government genuinely wants to end agbero-related harassment and intimidation, it should enforce the law and ensure that the roads are properly regulated. However, removing them from the streets without providing alternative means of livelihood could create another problem. The government should also introduce skills acquisition, employment opportunities and other programmes that can help them earn a legitimate living.

We need both enforcement and rehabilitation. Simply chasing them off the streets without addressing unemployment will not solve the problem permanently.

It is a thing of shame, seeing police working hand in hand with this so called agbero without seeing it as an offence, this has given them the privilege to act as they want. The shocking part is that you as a driver will find passengers, the rule is that any bus stop you load three passengers you must settle them, but I was surprised when I witnessed an agbero wanting to take money for just one passenger the driver load, the driver was trying to let him know that, it was one passenger he load, but he refused, insisting he must collect money from the driver, and the driver refused to give him also, that was how they started an argument, which made all the passengers left the bus. I will not blame them because, the government allowed that to happen without not taking action.

I enter keke one day na so the keke guy dey give some agbero #1000,  I dey ask say na the amount dem dey pay be that him say yes and if you know pay say dem go punch your tire be that, naim people wey follow me dey the keke dey ask say how much him dey take make one day to dey pay that kind money like this, make dem really do something about those guys, as person no even know who the  real taskforce people be. I honestly don't know where this agbero are getting their authority. Looks like they have a backing we don't know about. Operating as if they own everywhere. If they can operate like this, it shows the kind of authority through state government have over them. Even though they are laws in place to prevent this, I don't see any effect of such laws. Enforcers is what is lacking here. The government needs to look into agencies that can enforce the rules of the government to ensure it's citizens are safe.

Taskforce are also helpful at times because there are places you will go people will be selling their market on the middle of road without minding is a public road that's meant for cars and sometimes they would cause hold up that would last an hour but with the taskforce they have chased people inside the market and warned that they would destroy their property wen them see them they sell for road so actually even as e be say them sabi do bad things but e get some work way government no gree do but them done do am for everywhere to they free, however I prefer taskforce than Agbero because taskforce is working while Agbero is not doing anything.

It is sad to say but currently Rivers state doesn’t have a governor, Rivers would come back again soon to it’s days of glory after Sim Fubara leaves office, since this his fight between him and Wike the entire state has been upside down and that is the major reason why thuggery has been on rampage again in Rivers, nobody to control this Agboro boys, some of them stand side by side with police officers, as police is collecting their own bribe Abgoro boys are also collecting theirs, that is how bad things have been and neither the governor nor security agencies have intervened, this ugly incident that led to the loss of life and that is currently causing this scarcity of vehicles in certain areas is the ripple effect of a system whereby their is disunity within the tiers of government, while the politicians are busy fighting themselves this Agboro boys are going about causing havoc, now innocent Rivers residents are the once bearing the blunt.

I can imagine how stressful it is going or coming back from work if drivers are on strike, one would need to trek miles and even pay higher transport fares, apart from this ugly incident that is trending in Rivers currently if you see how dirty the entire garden city is currently you will cry, the entire state needs serious cleaning, i just hope that the new governor would revive the state.

I agree with you on this and because the governor is not focused on the government he has totally loose focus and no longer care about the well-being of the citizens because he knows he is on his way going home already and won't have the opportunity for a second tenure but my question for him is, why go for a fight he can't finish?, if he wanted to fight and win it should've been his second tenure in office not this one he did and the state is not in order, there are dustbin litterd on the streets and it seems there is no waste management to take care of it, everywhere is just so untidy.

The Agbero we are talking about gets their backups from the local government Chairman and after tasking people and seizing their properties once they pay some amount they release it for them, if the government is not in support of taskforce and Agbero they won't operate, it's high time this needs to be stopped so the drivers can have peace, if the next governor is still handpicked then I don't think he will revive the situation as he going to be taken orders from Wike like Sim Fubara.
