We all regretted selling at some point. Bitcoin was still new and the price hadn't really settled yet. There was huge potential for it to go up. There's nothing to regret anymore. What's done is done. Nobody is going to regret selling Bitcoin at $60k, unless Bitcoin somehow reaches $50 million or something one day. You might feel bad when Bitcoin goes up afterward, but it's not going to be some insane increase that would change your life.
Regret would mostly come with selling too cheaply or when the target is not met, if someone has held long enough to sell some portions i don't think there would be regret if the coin sold is used for a good or important purpose moreover the person would still continue accumulating despite selling some portions. However, if the reason for taking profit if for a purpose whereby lose is incurred then there would be reason for regrets when Bitcoin reaches a better figure than the point of sell.

To be honest OP, I wouldn't completely fault that guy during that time. Also, remember the guy who purchased two (2) pizzas for thousands of BTCs? I mean of course, we're clowning them today due to the decisions they have made but put yourself into their shoes at that time.
Remember that the very fact of a digital currency existing within the realm of the internet, free from any control, and transactions being posted are just some of the things that are beyond comprehension. The fact that you've received thousands of digital currency that can be converted to something physically (e.g. pizza and $$$) means that you won't be able to exercise this opportunity again.
At the end of the day, while we may judge these people according to the decisions they've made in the past, let's all not kid ourselves. I am very sure that if we are in the same situation as theirs, we would most likely done the same.

I think that without sufficient knowledge and long-term foresight, people lose patience after a small profit in the market and regret the missed opportunity over time. While newcomers are scared by the sharp fluctuations in the bitcoin or crypto market, those who understand the fundamentals of the technology and the long term demand do not see this decline as a reason to sell. They all know that the bitcoin market works in the long term. Having a clear understanding of its supply chain and global adoption trends reduces the tendency to take profits in a hurry or sell out of fear.

This is from the early days of Bitcoin when we were not in Bitcoin or did not know about Bitcoin. An even bigger example than this example is in December 2018 when the price of Bitcoin was below $3300, I bought Bitcoin even though I knew about Bitcoin at that time and I bought Bitcoin and sold it again for a small profit. If I had been able to hold Bitcoin at that time, I would have a great financial support at the current price of Bitcoin. Now when I think about that time, I only regret it. In fact, since Bitcoin was virtual, there was not much faith in Bitcoin at that time, so I was afraid to hold it. And when Bitcoin was first launched in the market, how could anyone gain faith in Bitcoin? Because at that time Bitcoin was unknown and the first digital currency that no one knew about before. That is why the money that was received immediately at that time was a matter of joy for that time. After facing and seeing all these things, we should not miss the opportunity to hold Bitcoin, at least now.

If you are a beginner who is going to invest in Bitcoin, wouldn’t you try to find out more to convince yourself before investing? Knowledge is out there and can be learned, but the confidence in the asset you invest in may vary for each person. For now, anyone who wants to invest in Bitcoin surely wouldn’t just put their money in recklessly. Except back when Bitcoin was traded at a very low price. Anyone could just buy Bitcoin like buying a snack.

--- The halving cycle is still a long way off. And around each halving period Bitcoin offers the potential for profit because Bitcoin is becoming increasingly scarce and even demand for it is increasing across various sectors. Just because Bitcoin’s price has dropped slightly doesn’t mean you should sell it right away. You just need to be patient so you won’t regret it later. If you manage to hold out for a long time then you’ll reap the rewards of your patience all this time. Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you? Please share your thoughts as well.
We can say things like that because we already know what happened with Bitcoin, and we know how successful it has been. Can you say the same thing if something like a new project has been launched? No you can't because the skepticism is at it's peak, and that's what Bitcoin is during those years. There are still lot of skepticism during it's early years of it saying that it's a scam or whatever negative they can say, and that's because it's a new thing. It's a new currency, and I think it's pretty common for investors to feel like that especially if it's new. Those who trusted Bitcoin throughout the years are the ones that are yielding the most profits right now. Those who choose to hold those Bitcoins that they bought when many are criticizing it are the ones that are making the most money now. I've been selling Bitcoin ever since I joined a Bitcoin-paid signature campaign, and while I'm holding a portion of it, a huge portion of it is being sold. Do I feel regret? Yes, I feel regret and disappointed with my decisions, but dwelling it for a long time will just make me more depressed and stressed with myself. At the end of the day, the past is the past and I can't control it anymore. What I can control is my future, and what I could with those Bitcoins that I'm getting on a weekly basis.

It is very unfortunate that many early investors sold their bitcoin very cheaply because of a lack of patience and understanding of where the price of Bitcoin is heading. I understand the mistake of these early investors. For those of us who joined Bitcoin late, we have seen the price of Bitcoin increase and how valuable Bitcoin is. We have no excuse for why we are not able to hodl Bitcoin because we have seen a lot of bear markets, which makes it clear that if the bitcoin price falls, it will definitely increase. Yet, people still panic when the price of Bitcoin falls, which often leads to the wrong decision to sell their bitcoin. It really pays to hodl Bitcoin, and investors need to try their best to understand the volatility of the market and not be threatened by it.
I don't think it's because of lack of patience that triggered and the sell of their coin, in fact many of those early investors thinks that they sold at a very reasonable price then, of course many early investors might have impression that the price of bitcoin would drop lower or dump, however from my own point of view is that those early investors shouldn't have sold all their assets at a go, its better they should hodl a certain percentage for future, unfortunately just few investors had the mindset of hodling their coins for future assets then who would ever believe and think that cryptocurrencies would later enjoy global acceptance and recognitions at those early stage, I also read story of someone who bought Pizza with huge amount of bitcoin then, absolutely those early sellers of coin would have regretted their actions but 'Life goes on' and there is hope if there is life.

I think the reason why you shouldn't sell your early is because.
Bitcoin is a digital asset and it's decentralized. where price increase on his own without a single control from any other organization
Bitcoin investment for me is an asset where you invest according to your capacity so that you won't be desperate to sell it on a wrong time. but having other asset will not make you to sell your bitcoin on a wrong time. You investing on bitcoin is not just for fun is a life changing journey which you need too acquire patients self control because there's a reward up front.

This is where patience comes to play, most times when investors in Bitcoin are encouraged to wait and exercise little bit of patience, because the more you hold on the greater percentage of you making great gain, when it comes to Bitcoin. But this is one thing that most people don't follow because of quick profit which they intend to make in the process. This person who is regretting his action by selling his Bitcoin premature, is only coming out openly simply due to the fact that he has seen how much profit that, he has lost by not waiting more as if the time he sold his coins. Most times people who sell even know that if they sell too early they may be regretting their actions but, maybe due to challenges and finances constraints they sell off their holdings. This is the reason why investors should not use money that they want to use for other purposes and put into Bitcoin. But only use money that they have no need of at the moment.

That Greg tweet is legendary, but let's be real. A 5x return from $0.06 to $0.30 probably felt as amazing as buying at $6k and selling at $30k.
It's easy to judge him. The real lesson in here is not to "never sell", but rather to never sell your entire stack. Taking profits to enjoy life is fine, just make sure you keep bitcoin.

Knowledge is out there and can be learned, but the confidence in the asset you invest in may vary for each person. I remember having a conversation similar to this on trading discussion board and someone argued with loads of words from his dictionary, but refused to acknowledge the fact of the matter. Shouldn't a person try to find out more to get convinced before investing? Absolutely they should. It's okay to panic, read the FUD and figure out from previous historical records what actually happens after a bearish year like this. Funny thing is, the same people that come online to run an advocacy for the "No panic" movement could be selling out stuffs offline when a greater news breaks their faith. Hahaha!!

We have to learn not to regret things, though. By that logic, even people who sold when the price was $100k will regret it someday. I don't see anything wrong in selling your bitcoin at any point you want to; what you shouldn't do, in my opinion, is sell it out of panic. Some people see the price of bitcoin going down, and then they panic. If you sell your bitcoin, it should be because you planned on selling it at a certain price or after a certain amount of profit. The good thing is, we always have an opportunity to buy again. Not buying it again is something to regret. He could have still bought when the price was $8, $10, $20, $50, or even $10k. He had a lot more opportunities to buy, so there is no point regretting over what you can't change.
Well, as long as you still sell in profits, or you sell because you planned it long ago, then there's no room for regrets. Regrets are only those who sell bitcoin too early that are far from their plan, or those who end up panic selling because they don't understand the high volatility of bitcoin. But let's be clear here, selling is never a bad option, all investors should take time to sell their coins, but they should sell at a reasonable price, or sell when they have seen already good profits to sell. However, not buying again is already an individual's choice. But if you want to experience bigger profits, buying back will always be the best option. Missed opportunities are not supposed to be missed forever, bitcoin never stops giving us opportunities to buy and stack bitcoin.

Hmm, panic selling and having a predefined exit plan are two completely different thing. Actually, everyone should know why they are selling. If someone sell BTC to cover his real-life expense then there should not be any problem. But if someone panic and dumps BTC after the price drops by 20% because they suddenly think Bitcoin is dead then its a completely different story Another thing is that ''I can always buy again'' type talk is valueless, in reality it is not that easy. If someone sells at $60k with expectation that they will buy again at $40k, but Bitcoin goes to $80k then they may have to wait for that lower price and eventually will not be able to buy back. This has happened to me a few times. So IMO, it is much more important to have a plan before volatility comes. There is no point in trying to make a perfect top or bottom call.

Many of us have been guilty of having these kind of feeling of wishing we waited a little longer so we can benefit from the sharp price increase. Timing the market accurately is not easy, it is infact risky to time the market instead of having a defined plan and working with the plan. Those who regret their actions after selling are greedy people. No matter the amount of profits they get, they will still regret if they miss out on more profits. As for those who sell out of panic, the solution they need is for them to work with a plan. The rule to apply should be to wait till the goal of the plan is reached while acting blind to short term market movements and paying deaf ears to noise.

Selling bitcoin is okay, but selling too early is one thing that investors should stop doing or should be discouraged from doing so. Why? Because no one invest just to lose in the end, but we all invest to increase the profit margin, to experience the growth of our future profits by buying more and holding longer.
Those who end up selling early might also have their personal reasons, but know the fact that if you want to meet your goal in your investment, always set your investment for long term and stick with discipline and endurance. This is also one reason why people shouldn't be investing all their life savings, but invest only what they can afford to lose to avoid early selling or panic selling when an emergency arise.

Selling bitcoin is not entirely bad, a lot of bitcoin investors decide to sell their bitcoin for profit purposes. But selling early their bitcoin, for me that's cutting short the long-term potentials of bitcoin and miss every opportunity that bitcoin halving could offer. No one wants to invest at a loss, therefore selling too early should be avoided to maximize the potential profits of bitcoin.
One thing is certain, if you want maximum amount of your profits, never sell early, but remain patient all throughout your bitcoin investment journey. The best rewards are always found in the end, as there's no shortcuts to it.

People should stop going back and looking at what they have sold in the past and what it is worth now, because if Bitcoin was not a success, the reverse could have been the case; nobody could have been regretting it, and as long as Bitcoin still exists, there will still be enough regret in front. What should matter more should be what those who sold early are going to do with the opportunity they have now after realising the value of what they did not take seriously before.

A clear example, and I don't know if you remember, was that many forum members said they would sell when BTC reached $100k. The thing is, BTC surpassed the $100k mark and performed better. While many did sell, those who sold above $125k and are now gradually buying back took full advantage. But now, knowing that the all-time high was around $126k, the smartest thing to do is buy and accumulate as much BTC as possible, since the market is expecting another big all-time high. When? We don't know, but I'm sure it will happen.

Selling bitcoin is okay, but selling too early is one thing that investors should stop doing or should be discouraged from doing so. Why? Because no one invest just to lose in the end, but we all invest to increase the profit margin, to experience the growth of our future profits by buying more and holding longer.
Selling too early doesn't always result in a loss, does it? So, that isn't an issue at all. The real problem arises when someone becomes greedy and expects profits that are far beyond realistic reach. Sometimes, an individual might have their own exit plan, even if it conflicts with the principle that "investments must end in profit." It becomes a difficult choice: whether to exit to maintain strategic discipline or to hold on longer in order to stick to that principle.

There was a tweet from a Twitter user who regretted selling his Bitcoin too early.
I wonder if their regrets will ever end? I think they will continue as long as they live. It was not a mistake to sell Bitcoin in the past because they were happy to sell it then. Instead of time, the price has increased a lot so there is no point in regretting now. Many of us believe that the price of Bitcoin will increase a lot in the future. When Bitcoin reaches $1 million in the future, how will they be? So you should not worry about the past. Wise people do not think about the past but they like to think about the future. So start accumulating BTC again thinking about the future and just hodl. Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you? Please share your thoughts as well.
No I am not in favor of selling btc at a low price. I believe that bitcoin has good potential in the long term. Now we can't be sure about the future because no one knows the future. But I am optimistic that we can take good profits from bitcoin in the future. So instead of focusing on the current market, plan for the long term.
