It will still gonna be the same line of action that we are going to find that the Twitter user will sell their Bitcoin before or after Bitcoin reaches $8. They will be by today, regretting their action of many years ago that they sold their Bitcoin cheaply.

At the time they are selling their Bitcoin, they thought they were selling at a good price, not a bad price. That's the way it is for us today; we are quietly selling our Bitcoin at a price below $120k. In 10-15 years to come, some of us might be regretting our actions of today, whereas we sold our Bitcoin at prices we took as profits

Many are regretting their past actions, and many are still procrastinating. Funny how many are still going to regret in a long run and wishes they too their bitcoin investment or stack serious. Like a post I stumbled upon on my fyp , the man was speaking on how he scale up his financial life with crypto and he made a certain statement concerning Bitcoin that a time will come this price they see too expensive now (Bitcoin recent price ) . As time goes it may even grow more so try to be part of the ecosystem.

When you sell early it makes you lose your future long-term gain that is driven by scarcity since the value will continue rising  by pushing prices higher over many circles , it make you pay higher short-term capital gains tax  and also keeps you at the edge of the wall to be confused of what to do because at any increase in time you start regretting your actions because then it will be too expensive for you to buy and start from the scratch.

It is always good you invest in Bitcoin for a long term and not a short term in other to get a good profit at the end of your overaccumulation stage.

If you manage to hold out for a long time then you’ll reap the rewards of your patience all this time. Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you? Please share your thoughts as well.

I mightn't have been among the early adopters of Bitcoin but was privileged to come into market place when Bitcoin was trading at $1k, and have been in the market since then to see the price at $120k but now it has been met with some corrections but that's temporary. If the price can get to this level from when I saw it then I doubt there's something that can stop the price from going further as we continue to appreciate in value. The market always looks positive irrespective of what's happening because the opportunity are too good to pass on. If we can see where Bitcoin is coming from then that should be enough reason to trust Bitcoin to give us more profit instead of doubting and selling.

If you want to maximize your future profits, hence selling early should be avoided. I don't mean to say selling shouldn't be done, but any investor can take part in selling a portion of his bitcoin when the market is favorable to sell, but not selling all his bitcoins in just a single span of time because he will definitely lost all his chances to gain maximum future outcome of his bitcoin investment.

And one more thing, selling too early is a sign of lack of knowledge and being impatient. Let's not forget the fact that being patient is a road to gain all time high price for bitcoin, everyone should stretch their patience longer because the more patient you are, the bigger rewards await for you in the future.

Now is so much different compared to the status of bitcoin before where price only moved slightly that some even considered them as useless coins. So I truly understand the feeling of those early investors why they chose to sell early their bitcoin instead of holding them longer.

However, currently bitcoin has already a promising price and it grows every now and then, despite of its price fluctuations that could literally pull its price down and sometimes push its price upward. And the good thing is, the longer you decide to hold your bitcoin, the bigger potentials for its price to reach another all time high. That's why everyone is more encouraged to hold their coins rather than selling them at a low price.
You are right, now creates so much difference in Bitcoin comparing it to before. Now there is a proof of work well done to show how much potential Bitcoin can be, while we may not blame those early investors that much why they choose to sell earlier instead of holding longer, it is in the light of those of us now to realize that things are really much better for us now compared to those early adopters who could not hold much longer because historically it is now crystal clear that Bitcoin can do wonders if chosen to hold for longer time even though nothing is completely guaranteed, as Bitcoin can no longer be considered as a useless coin not when it has proven not to be one.

We all regretted selling at some point. Bitcoin was still new and the price hadn't really settled yet. There was huge potential for it to go up. There's nothing to regret anymore. What's done is done. Nobody is going to regret selling Bitcoin at $60k, unless Bitcoin somehow reaches $50 million or something one day. You might feel bad when Bitcoin goes up afterward, but it's not going to be some insane increase that would change your life.

Selling bitcoin too early will compromise your future profits, and may even lost the chances to gain maximum profits, so why take the risk and sell bitcoin early? And as long as you enter bitcoin investment for long term, then there's no reason to exit early in the market by selling too early. Instead, continue buying bitcoin through DCA, always look at the positive side of bitcoin no matter how volatile it is and the market. Bitcoin in the end will reward us those who remain patient and loyal, and will make the most of bitcoin profits.

For me, real regret is more about the time when Bitcoin was still worth less than a dollar. At today’s price, especially around its recent highs, Bitcoin is already life-changing money for people who bought much earlier.

So if I sell now for a good profit, I dont think I would regret it that much. The room for growth is not the same as when Bitcoin was still extremely cheap.

Institutional investors and other big players are already heavily involved now, so the market feels different. Its no longer like the early days when someone with a small capital could discover Bitcoin as an unknown gem and potentially make an unbelievable return.

We have to learn not to regret things, though. By that logic, even people who sold when the price was $100k will regret it someday. I don't see anything wrong in selling your bitcoin at any point you want to; what you shouldn't do, in my opinion, is sell it out of panic. Some people see the price of bitcoin going down, and then they panic. If you sell your bitcoin, it should be because you planned on selling it at a certain price or after a certain amount of profit.
The good thing is, we always have an opportunity to buy again. Not buying it again is something to regret. He could have still bought when the price was $8, $10, $20, $50, or even $10k. He had a lot more opportunities to buy, so there is no point regretting over what you can't change.

That situation aren't really much uncommon at that time. The price was right at that time since the demand tells the price. Majority of the bitcoin users at that time wasn't anticipating such growth in bitcoin price in the future. Even me who accumated bitcoin on the early days sold my bitcoin since I profited from it. There are some regrets of course and "what if" questions if I hadn't sold any. All I can do is just move on and make better decisions in the future.

I believe that it isn't wrong to sell bitcoin at that time given that we can't predict the future and OGs shares the same regrets.

So many people who kept their Bitcoin using COldCard since 2018 have lost everything, every single Bitcoin, holding becomes a problem when you don't have a plan for it, you just want to keep holding till your grave time.
This is wrong, the person we used as an example in this thread spent his Bitcoin, the mistake he made for me is spending everything he had, there is nothing wrong in spending those Bitcoin but not leaving some behind is bad.
You should always have two plans for everything, what if it doesn't go the way I think it will? This is why you must also and always think about negative sides too, I will always spend my Bitcoin I refuse to be a slave of my own mindset, but I will always make sure that I never run out of Bitcoin.

I consider "selling Bitcoin too early" in two contexts

1. Selling it after a short time after buying and holding but with very good ROI. It's for situation when people have very good entries, then the market has a big bull run very short time later like several months. It's not bad to do that if you can especially if you don't plan to hold your coins for two or three market cycles.

2. Selling it for loss or very small profit but after a considerable time of buying and holding. It's for people who bought at top of a previous market cycle, then have to hold their position through a bear market like 2 years but can not hold, and sell their bitcoins when price just reach to ATH, break it a little bit. It's not a thing to do with Bitcoin investors because Bitcoin if breaking its previous ATH of a previous market cycle will make a very big bull run with high ROI.

Quote
Instead, continue buying bitcoin through DCA, always look at the positive side of bitcoin no matter how volatile it is and the market. Bitcoin in the end will reward us those who remain patient and loyal, and will make the most of bitcoin profits.
DCA buying is for entries and averaging entry price that later affects our portfolio sizes and potential ROIs at the end if we decide to take profit.

Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you? Please share your thoughts as well.
This is a story that is worth regretting because when he sold the bitcoin, it was okay according to the price at that time, but later seeing the price of bitcoin increase, it is normal that he will regret it. If we think about his history of selling 1700 bitcoins from the perspective of the present time, naturally he can do nothing except blame himself, and at the same time there is nothing to do except regret.

Those who can analyze the history behind bitcoin and understand the volatility that the bitcoin market has gone through until now will refrain from selling bitcoin at a low price. Those who have understood bitcoin will wait for a long time and continue investing while keeping their morale steady to get something good.
Well comparing the price of bitcoin back then and now it is actually regrettable that he sold his bitcoin but we should also look at both sides of the coin, not many investors are genius with a long vision and not every investor has that enduring power to foresee the future of bitcoin, secondly bitcoin is volatile what if for any reason the price/value of bitcoin actually dropped from what it was back then when he sold to something lesser? he would have been happy that he sold when he did if actually the value of bitcoin had dropped, so this things can go either way, it’s just this current time that bitcoin has been fluctuating around a particular value range, back then there was so much of uncertainty and i won’t completely blame anyone that sold their bitcoin back then.

I believe this fellow is the only one who can tell us why he sold his bitcoin too early, there are different factors that could’ve contributed to the decision of selling one’s bitcoin, it cloud be a lack of proper planning and he needed money to solve an emergency problem, probably he doesn’t have a plan of holding bitcoin for a long time, but I will not sell my bitcoin for any reason, instead I would want to keep buying and accumulating bitcoin, I think reserved funds is always important and essential for a long term investor, I believe in bitcoin so much, that my discretionary income is majorly for buying bitcoin, having good plans is very important.

I am guilty of that, sold many times in the past for which if I didn't I've got probably a good amount of savings that I can't worry maybe for a couple of months. But yes, we're done and don't have to dwell in it. What we can do right now is to continue the accumulation and look forward from learning with those mistakes or decisions that we've made in the past. At the time when we've sold, we even enjoyed the profit and we only feel that regret right now because we're looking at the price which might still be quite high or at least with a few profits in it. Yet, if the price falls and we've sold above that then, it won't be regretting anymore because we think that we've won.

If you manage to hold out for a long time then you’ll reap the rewards of your patience all this time. Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you?
These following sites have information about Bitcoin price over time from $0.0008 to $126,000 as well as descriptions for most notable events in Bitcoin history so far.

https://www.davemanuel.com/bitcoin-price-history.php
https://bitcoin.zorinaq.com/price/

It firstly shows strongly impressive price growth of Bitcoin over time but it also reminds us the importance of never selling all bitcoins we have. We all have need of selling bitcoins for cash to use or selling bitcoins to have stable coins for spending on some sites or using our bitcoin directly as payment for something but if we plan to take profit, never take profit all.

Like if we have 100 bitcoin in 2013, we can sell 90 bitcoins, and hold 10 bitcoins till 2026, we can see that we will still have very big profit and won't to regret anything. Similarly, if we have 10 bitcoins in 2017, sell 9 bitcoins for about $180,000 and hold 1 remaining bitcoin till 2024 or 2025, we can still have about $120,000 without regret.

Another chart, Satoshi per dollar, that shows Bitcoin purchasing power growth over time.

Greg Schoen is someone who has said that he wishes he still held onto the several thousand Bitcoin he once owned. But he can only lament his mistake for selling them too soon, where at the time he regretted selling his Bitcoin at $0.30. And he regretted it because Bitcoin subsequently rose to $8 per coin.
Unfortunately, the pain does not cost $ 8. The identical Bitcoin went for $ 100, $1000, $ 69k, and $ 100k. Each new greatest price only lead to pain.

You just need to be patient so you won't regret it later.
Patience is not only thing that will help you. Many people collapsed in 2018 and 2022 and continue to panic sell at bottom. Long term investors were not patient but some other had strong beliefs. When your account is down 80%, understanding why Bitcoin is valuable makes all the difference.

I have invested in Bitcoin for a long time, so I never express my desire to sell if the price of Bitcoin drops slightly, maybe they have too much Bitcoin and they might panic. But they should store their Bitcoin in different wallets, because having Bitcoin in multiple wallets reduces the risk.
However, if you invest in Bitcoin for the long term, it is definitely possible to get more profit, and although it is much less, it is possible to take the opportunity to buy Bitcoin occasionally.

And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you? Please share your thoughts as well.

If we look at the Bitcoin price chart, it has been increasing from the past to the present. So it will increase in the future as well, because the price of Bitcoin increases according to the halving cycle. After the halving cycle is over, the price of Bitcoin is now being corrected, the price of Bitcoin is being corrected because there is a buying opportunity here.
Those who get frustrated and give up their Bitcoin holdings at this time are mainly responsible for their own failure. If you hold Bitcoin patiently for a long time, it will definitely be possible to succeed.

Exactly!! we can’t bring back time on what happened in the past but at least we learned from it, right? I would say that it’s kinda difficult to move on or recover from what you have lost in the past because of emotions (excitement due to btc value and FOMO), but what really matters is your current decisions when it comes to properly handling of your investments. you should apply everything you have learned to make sure that you don’t make the same decisions again and also to avoid having any regrets in the future... tho, I wouldn’t exactly consider it as a mistake because we simply didn’t know that bitcoin would eventually reach its ATH, so at that time, we considered selling it based on our situations and what we thought was the right decision...
