I don't know what others think or say about this, but in my opinion, it's less about competition but more about how a person is by nature, because someone who is a good person by nature would never think about how someone else getting in the same line of business as them could make their business go bad or even lose customers or anything, because a person who is running a business with all honesty and dedication, they know their business won't get affected just by someone else starting a similar business unless they and their business start compromising on their own business.
In contrast, someone who is naturally not very good as a human and has wickedness or selfishness in them, and they don't want anyone else doing good, especially if they do it by competing with them, then they will surely do such a thing. They will try their best to scare them away from what they are trying to do even if the person himself is already into it and is doing pretty good for himself. It's immoral and unethical, but some people do it, they may say that they are doing it because they don't want competition, but that's not the actual reason.

Isn't it normal? That's a normal reaction coz you want to get the benefit the most. Why would you share it and at the end the benefit you will get will be lesser? And if you do share it, do you expect others will do the same to you when the situation is reversed? I don't think so. It's not being selfish, you are just protecting yourself.
Unless it doesn't affect me even in the slightest, then I wouldn't mind sharing it. They say competition is healthy. Yes it is but it also depends on the situation. So if you can eliminate it, then why not do it?

It is good to show people in the dark the light, so they can navigate their way, but when such help becomes a threat to your peace and prosperity it is a wrong help. Still it shouldn't stop us from helping those in need mostly as it regards an investment that could better their lives and make them wealthy in the long run.
When competition becomes unhealthy and a threat, it becomes a hindrance to progress and that's why these days so many people prefer to keep their mouth shut inorder to protect their wealth status and avoid competitions from those they intend to help and it's also an adviced security management protocol to observe so as not to be a victim of wrench attack or kidnapping or hack or scams that could arise as a consequence of the help rendered.

Protecting your own advantage is reasonable but deliberately discouraging someone is different. If you don’t want competition, you can simply keep the opportunity to yourself. Once you start telling people any opportunity doesn’t work when you know it already does, you are no longer just protecting your interest, you are only influencing their decision with information you know is not true.

Funny to think preventing others from a good plan means one is actually avoiding competition, well there’s different between holding back good update and avoiding competition like it’s never real not to face competition mostly in the business field. Competition is necessary though I find it selfish holding back when being asked about a particular plan, like op stated about making research rather than discouraging the person thought of building something. Basically the only reason is fear of competition no doubt but, I’m more concerned about lack of competition obviously without competition how can one tell their growth so far? Just imagine only a business owner running one particular business idea at some point such person will look up to others for idea and creativity reason why we have a lot of business mentors, I can never tell what the business industry or any other industry will look like without mentorship reason why it’s not advisable hiding ideas.

It is not competition because if it is, it will be better to tell them to join then both of you will now see who will do better than each other, that's how competition should be but when someone scares you or tells you negative things about the kind of business they do, it is because they are afraid that if they introduce you, you might outshine them and do better than them so I'll say it is inferiority complex. There is no harm in teaching others about the kind of business you are doing, that is if they approach you to help them. There is no need to discourage such people, even if there are challenges that you are facing you should open up and tell them so that it doesn't look as if you don't want to help.

Human itself may not be selfish by nature but since we also have this personal interest that we value the most, thus sharing the same opportunity to others might compromise the realization of our own personal interest and gains.
Honestly, I tend to be like this sometimes especially when I am seeing that the other person is gaining more advantage than me, maybe the concept of competition arise when it no longer serves your own purpose. But more than that, human by nature also comes with cooperation. We like to cooperate with others, and share the same opportunities and goals, as long as they don't affect our own goals and interest.

I don't think its just a normal competition, but more likely a huge selfish desire to seize the chance and opportunity alone without the presence of other people. And definitely, it's not going to work in the long run. Negativity begets negativity as well, but if you become more open to the fact that any opportunity or chance can be shared, the result will be more favorable on your part, and you even gain peace of mind as your extra bonus.

Lately I’ve been thinking about something I find interesting about competition. Why do some people become very supportive of an opportunity when they are the ones benefiting from it but suddenly become negative about it when other people discover the same opportunity?
For business to be viable, the market doesn't have to be saturated. Although marketing and quality of goods or services may favor you over others in the business. AFAIK, personal interest is the first quality to be prosperous; take emotion aside and do what's right for the business. There is a difference between saying do your research before joining and deliberately making an opportunity sound useless simply because you do not want more proper competing with you. People sometimes want others to succeed but only up to the point where that success does not compete with their own.
So I’m curious, is this simply normal human competition or does it become unfairly holding others back?
Would you stop a business from running because I discourage you? Or would you quit starting a business cause I tell you the business is unprofitable? Be mature and be responsible for your actions. Listen to advice, but through your own research, get conviction. As a business owner, I can actually discourage you from avoiding competition. It doesn't mean I do not want your success in life. I simply do not want to start sharing customers with you. But it's in your hand to quit or continue with the business plans.

It's always like that to people who knows you, get to pay for it from an unknown source and get the financial as well as business opportunity. Those who are close to you sees your success as competition while strangers will see it as potential, it's always better to go elsewhere to a total stranger who does the same business to teach you while you pay him or her, whenever your close friends or relatives hides information from you. No matter how crowded sellers are in the market, you'll still sell something, join in and make sales no matter what, if there are no longer customers who patronizes again as discouraged by your friend, you'll confirm it yourself. But give a try.

It is normal because everyone certainly does not want many competitors who will compete, a business with minimal competitors will get maximum profits, many competitors will reduce income and it is very troublesome if competitors are superior to us. Competitors are obstacles for business opportunities will be smaller, so logically no one wants competitors, besides normal human nature is greedy , will not care about what happens to others, and of course they will get rid of competitors

I am of the mindset that the more people succeed in an economy, the more the ecosystem will remain sustainable for everyone especially does trying to find their feet and I think if majority of persons think like this too, we might just have it real good. Normally humans are filled with greed and you must be conscious enough not to have greed towards your fellow human, I don't think much can be said to that.

I think not everyone has that mindset of being too optimistic by discouraging others, as our perspectives and points of view are different. Still if you are serious in venturing into a business, then what other people say shouldn't really matter that much.As a matter of fact someone wanting to take tips from you for a business doesn't really mean they are trying to compete with you. The only time you as an individual should have such thoughts is if they are going to open the business close to yours which is wrong. But apart from that, there is certainly no point in discouraging someone, either in cryptocurrency or traditional businesses. If you can't help them, then simply tell them you can't. If helping them will cost you your customers then take proper precaution and make a reasonable decision. I believe it's all about personal satisfaction, that's all....
When it involves same business and on a close by it will be much difficult to disclose things and how this work to the next person who needed to start up same business too. But i don't see any thing bad trying to help other when they want to get some tips and more information about a particular business, i have this experience sometimes ago when i needed to start up a business that a friend of mine was also into but he refused telling anything about the business and where i can also be buying my own goods but it was some else that helped me out, sometimes these things are caused by greed only you want to have it all when the sky is too big to accommodate anything.

Humans are just wicked if not tell me why people do not normalize giving people direct links or information that will be of great benefits to them instead they will rather discourage them nit to engage in the same line of business or investment that they are benefiting from. Greed and the act of being at the top where they want others to worship them or be poor while they are rich is the reason why most people hide good informations it's not just the competition if it was about competition they would give them the update since they are not going to affect their own profit.

Maybe that's how an incompetent person deals with competition. Although there isn't obvious competition here, but if you don't want others to take advantage the same opportunities like what you have been benefiting with, that only sounds that you are an unjust and unfair person because you don't want others to succeed from those free opportunities.
More than being selfish and jealous, I also find that person innately bad in general. One should not discourage others in seizing the same opportunities, even if it means less advantage for him.

In every business field there are gatekeepers. A new entrant into that business is seen as an adversary, a competition that can take others out. This is why the saying makes sense that if I teach you how to fish, do not fish in my pond. You gotta go someplace else to fish. That’s the same concept here. However, if you’re good enough there are more than one ways to get into a business and it doesn’t have to be through asking one person only.

This is due to human nature. Humans, by nature, do not like competitors, and therefore they will try by all means to keep away every potential competitor, either by misleading, providing false information, or even putting obstacles in the way of their competitors so that they fail.
I agree that there is a difference between saying "do your research before joining" and deliberately making an opportunity seem useless simply because you don't want real competition with you, especially if it's from someone close to you. But you can't blame people for thinking that competition might reduce their profits or perhaps they are afraid of their failure and your success.

You have already mentioned in your statement why they discourage others from entering their business. Yes, they may think that if someone else enters the same business as they are doing, they will have competitors and as a result their customer base may decrease, which is why they discourage most of the time. I have personally encountered such a situation. I know a man who has made a profit by trading in the stock market and is constantly making profits. But when I asked him about this business, he completely discouraged me and made me feel like he had lost a lot of money here and if I enter here, I can also lose a lot of money. Actually, it is an invisible fear so that the prevalence of people in the profession in which a person is is not increased.

It depends on how it’s interpreted. It shouldn’t be viewed as competition in a negative sense that would reduce the business’s profit margin, because Business 1 and Business 2 each have their own advantages. It’s human nature to feel envy when others do the same thing, and the perception that it’s unfair to hinder others can also arise—there are many examples of this that are easy to find around us. From a business perspective, isn’t this kind of behavior—hindering others as competitors—actually quite common?

Lately I’ve been thinking about something I find interesting about competition. Why do some people become very supportive of an opportunity when they are the ones benefiting from it but suddenly become negative about it when other people discover the same opportunity?
For example someone discovers a business opportunity or another legitimate way to earn, they participate, benefit from it and continue doing it but when another person now ask about it or wants to join, the attitude suddenly change. I understand that competition can reduce someone’s individual advantage. If more people enter, opportunities can become competitive and the reward eventually reduces. So from a personal perspective keeping an opportunity to yourself can make sense is discouraging others really the same thing as protecting your own interest?
There is a difference between saying do your research before joining and deliberately making an opportunity sound useless simply because you do not want more proper competing with you. People sometimes want others to succeed but only up to the point where that success does not compete with their own.
So I’m curious, is this simply normal human competition or does it become unfairly holding others back?
I am pretty sure that this is coming from someone living in a developing country? I wouldn't blame this man or guy for anything, there is this nasty habit that's very common in developing countries, and I will share it in here. People living in developing countries hardly think for themselves and act based on their mind, this person might have took his time to make something work for him, only for someone to come and start asking for a lead. It's a normal thing that people likes doing the same things in developing countries, why can't he find his own way? What makes him think that if he joined his friend and do what he does then things will change for him? Copy catting is a big deal for most people, and I don't like it, I noticed it to be a big plague affecting my people, always want to do what others are doing, they can't think and develop things themselves.
