Lol, it is just an unfortunate coincidence. You wouldn't ask a home seller if they own any cryptocurrency before buying their home, would you? Nobody is going to reveal that information to you. Let's say you manage to get the weird question out, there is also no way you can verify their answer, so it is useless.
Some people showcase their crypto assets online just to show off. In some cases, they even go to the extent of showing their home addresses. Others offer crypto-related services and must advertise them online. Maybe doing a simple search on the internet about the former owner wouldn't be a bad idea. Those data breaches are no joke but the company who caused the data breach usually only swept it under the rug as if it's nothing.
Honestly those data breaches should be the utmost concern because it involves the safety of their customer from a wrench attack.
Companies care about their reputation more than the safety of their customers. The standard practice when there is a data leak is to seek means to curtail it and inform those affected immediately. But they prefer to keep it secret because making the data breach public might reduce public confidence in them.

Who knows if the former owner of the house sold it because he knew that he's not safe in that house. They might have attacked him before he sold the house. Investors forget that crypto is money and you need to keep all your crypto dealings as a secret to prevent wrench attack. Physical attack is more dangerous than online attack because you might lose your life in the process.
That seems very possible because the previous owner might have sold the house for his own safety however it's not good to sell your house to someone else who might also get targeted by the criminals who're after you. The better way is to talk to police and such authorities to take proper action against the criminals not to sell your house to others and make things harder for them. Crypto currencies and any transactions related to crypto currencies should be kept private for maximum safety to be honest wrench attacks can be very harmful for ones life and it's always better to keep your privacy if you're into crypto currencies.

A couple in France's Somme department was targeted in three home invasions in less than a month after buying a former crypto millionaire's house. According to ChainCatcher, criminals had obtained the previous owner's tax details and address from the dark web and mistakenly believed the new residents held about 1 million euros in crypto assets.
The first intruder was driven off by the family's dog, while the second attack involved the residents being subdued and the assault being livestreamed on Snapchat before the attackers fled after realizing they had the wrong target. A third attempt was stopped by an alarm system. An Amiens criminal court later convicted two men, aged 20 and 21, for involvement in the third invasion and sentenced them to three years and 18 months in prison. Why are robbers in France drawn to crypto-holders like bees to honey? Is there no criminal penalty for this? Or do they imagine they’ll instantly become fabulously wealthy? What’s the reason? Or does the illusion of anonymity surrounding bitcoin lead them to believe that no one will be able to trace the money? One gets the impression that criminals in that country have a real thing for cryptocurrencies. This could be one of the dangers of buying a house own previously by a crypto person. As we all know that France is notoriously known for it's data leak, criminals who has in their possession the house and the address of crypto holders.
It turns out that in France, you basically can't even "touch" cryptocurrencies, because doing so potentially exposes to being targeted by criminals. You shouldn't even have friends who are publicly linked to cryptocurrencies and, of course, now have to thoroughly check whether the owner of your house, apartment, or car was a crypto-magnate But for safety or whatever reasons, they've sold their houses and the new buyer is not aware that the owner is on the radar of this criminals because they have obtained their data. And so the new owners should know the risk specially buying from a crypto millionaire.
BTC-community has long been waiting for the ability to pay for (large) purchases using bitcoin. The question is: do you still want this, given this history? Also for the crypto owners that have sold their house, they are still not safe, because the data might have contained their real names and identities.
They have no choice here but to turn their new home into a fortress, like in "Home Alone" and hire security. Otherwise, the stream of "uninvited BTC-guests" won't stop.

Wrench attacks are more common in France, and if you are into Bitcoin and are located in this country, take your time to maintain privacy and avoid any public appearance that identifies you with what you do as a Bitcoin user.
It is common in France because even their government is the one leaking the data. Also for the crypto owners that have sold their house, they are still not safe, because the data might have contained their real names and identities.
This means that before buying a house, there is a need to do a proper check on the past owners. This would help you know how to set up the house. Having extra security has become essential in some countries. I also thought the change of ownership of a property should be updated fast. Probably by now all home buyers might want to check the background of the owners themselves. Because you don't want to be the target just like in this case.
I'm also thinking that this could be one reason why they have sold it. Or without knowing the consequences, perhaps they wanted to live somewhere else or have a bigger house. Fortunately, I live in a country where law abiding citizens have the right to own firearms. Home invading perpetrators have a high probability of becoming perforated. Lucky for you mate. Not sure about the law in France though. Before you say that France is the top priority target for wrench attackers think again, it will reach everywhere soon, in my country whenever people who don't know alot heard about crypto they will call you a millionaire, just like that.
It's the question on France leaking the data of almost everyone. For sure it might reach everywhere soon, but the criminals will have to work double time to identify potential crypto holders. But here, the data is exposed that's why they were attack by 3 criminal groups.

A couple in France's Somme department was targeted in three home invasions in less than a month after buying a former crypto millionaire's house. Evidence that Data protection is just in writing and means nothing when stuff gets real! And for a millionaire, how active do you have to be to have this information available online..? This could be one of the dangers of buying a house own previously by a crypto person. This is not just a crypto person but a "crypto millionaire", and I think this guy got a hold of this leak and left the house for his safety (and the family) and not telling the incoming house owners.. perhaps house renovation can help and probably just a note to say your crypto guy doesn't leave here any more, or maybe work with the authorities for a change of address whatever will call off these break ins. Also for the crypto owners that have sold their house, they are still not safe, because the data might have contained their real names and identities.
Time for an Identify change, he has the money and for security reasons am sure this can be done legally.. if not relocate for ones safety.

That's really dangerous and the new owner doesn't have an idea why they're attacked at first. I guess this sets as a warning for the next profit takers for the next bull run. If ever you've got some profits and plans to buy a house, you have to know the background of the seller. It's okay to keep on asking everything for the peace of mind. But you can't force them if they are good in hiding their relation and past about being a crypto millionaire.

Sometimes you don’t need to tell people or brag about your crypto reserves. You just need to be a law‑abiding citizen who pays taxes on time and is listed in some government documents.. And then someone very unscrupulous simply sells your data. After all, that’s exactly what happened, "a corrupt tax service employee was selling the dossiers of wealthy investors."
The investors here weren’t braggers, nor were they people who were trying to promote themselves through crypto.
if you think about it more deeply, the question arises: do we really need to be so law‑abiding and follow the rules if the places where we entrust our information can easily leak or sell our data? What was that? A glitch or an error? But the result turned out to be disastrous for many.

Data leaks are a very big problem, and also trusting the government on everything, including protecting our data, is misplaced trust . The government always screws us up every time This is why I am not comfortable with exchanges sharing out data with the government. On top of the information getting stolen or leaked by an exchange, now I have another government leak to worry about. I am thinking the previous owner of the property sold it off for the same exact reason. Security threats.

Publicly exposing yourself to be a crypto holder is what is causing this wrench attack in this people. They’re innocent but because they’re in the house of a person whom felt publicly exposing their crypto asset is the new lifestyle, they’re not paying for his ignorance. I hope the attack stops now after convicting to people for the attempted robbery attacks.
He may still not be safe in his new location because there could still be a trace leading to him again. I hope he has learnt from his mistake and won’t try to impress about his owning again. Crypto is the new oil money, so anyone that is found having one, they’ll be target and could cause harm to their lives and properties.

This does show that people need to be extra careful when buying any form of building; the previous owner doesn't have to be a crypto enthusiast. This should be treated as an eye-opener for crypto enthusiasts about prioritizing privacy, especially when purchasing things or providing online platforms with their private information, because some bad actors are selling crypto enthusiasts private information on the dark web. In the meantime, I also believe the French government also needs to do something because the violation of people's privacy and physical attack of crypto enthusiasts is happening many times there.

Probably same nightmare if any kind of showoff lived in the house. Less to do with it belonging to a crypto guy, more to do with it belonging to a tryhard.
But you have to see the positve side of the story. Considering how many show offs are on the Internet today, this will become so normalized that ALL houses will eventually have a history of 'Rich Bitcoiners'!

He may not need to do an identity change or something as far as wanting to relocate to another country for safety I think, just understanding that he is now a target and he's at risk of being robbed, kidnapped or even something worse, security consciousness needs to be the most paramount thing to focus on. You have to put in place security measures to ensure that there is no attack, and even in the situation of an attack that you are well prepared to handle it. The problem is when you are a target and do not know that you are a target or when you know you are a target and you do not do anything about it.

Unfortunately, we’ll probably be hearing many more stories like this in the UK very soon because of the Trezor data leak. Stories like these are both frightening and upsetting.
Stories like these could be one of the reasons why Satoshi decided to be anonymous, imagine if he was known, who knows the amount of death threats or attacks he would've recieved, especially whenever there's a dip, people who're ignorant to volatility would take it personal and send threats to his media accounts, people can be very crazy lately. I can't even imagine losing everything I've hustled to achieve through holding Bitcoin to crimals whether online or offline, someone like me that can be very emotional won't be able to take the lose, it would break me completely. Honestly this is the best bet for any bitcoin holders is to remain anonymous else they would be target of criminals, definately there was breach of data whose leak got exposed to darkweb criminals, its obvious those criminals must have gotten hold of the new house owner at gun point to release the details and to have access to his wallet, unfortunately that is a wrong person who is getting punished, the new house owner in a matter of urgency sell off the house because of their own safety and risk of lives three invasions is absolutely very risky, however that particular house would just have remain unoccupied else those criminals would continue to invade the building thinking that any new occupants are the real owners who massively bought bitcoin.

What I can only advice to anyone buying a new house or moving into one, is to first do a thorough background check in order to avoid inheritance of problems that made the former person quit or sell or abandon the property, because had it been this new couple did a thorough background check first, am sure they would not have willingly put themselves in that situation where it becomes hard to sleep at night or roam the streets by day because someone wants to attack them, thinking they are the crypto millionaire they are looking for.
You're not being realistic. There is nothing anybody buying that house could have done. Are you saying they would not buy the house simply because the old owner was a crypto holder? Also, what resources do you have to even do a "thorough background check"? Be realistic. How many average people have the data to find out everything about another person? That is a situation that is almost unavoidable. The house you are in right now, if it is rented or bought, did you do any background check on the people who were in the house before you? Even if you did, what did you find? Do you know if they had crypto, or did you find out their browser history or their social media footprint? I doubt it. So the couple are just a victim of a situation that anybody could have fallen into. You can do a background check or investigate the building you want to move into, but you can never know everything. Besides, were the couple supposed to reject the house simply because the last owner was a crypto holder?

What you're saying points that it makes sense to investigate the reason why a house owner that you want to buy wanted to sell it in the first place. It could be that the former house owner had been attacked a couple of times and he didn't want to make the information public inorder not to reduce the value of the property before selling it because nobody will want to buy a home that is the target of robbers. It is likewise not recommended that crypto holders should make their holdings public even when they feel like bragging about it in public because of the many stories of wrench attacks that leads to the unfortunate demise of some victims. It is sad that most of these crypto holders attacks are coming from France, that is a developed country, I hope that their government will take proactive moves to combat the menace so that crypto holders will feel safe in that country.

I'm not even sure where to draw my conclusion from in this story because there are clearly two different individuals who're under threats (in danger) here... The previous home owner and the new home owner (the buyer). Can we actually call this a "danger of buying a house that was previously own by a crypto person", when we clearly can't identify crypto users just by looking at their face ?. Asking questions is not even a sure way because many crypto users, especially those who're Security cautious, won't go about spitting out what ought to be personal. And this case of data leak is still something that i'm yet to understand, unless the person is just one of the regular rich crypto user who barely understands the importance of privacy... but of course, this is France that we're talking about, and with the too many reports in recent times, things shouldn't be too surprising.
