I think any new person will be very curious to know everything about this forum expecialy when they must have been fed with information about signature campaign, it will increase their hunger to grow in knowledge to rank up as quick as possible making them to be too curious. We have seen many of them being too inquisitive, but as time passes by their hunger and desire dropped drastically because they didn't get what they expected and some never continued. Talking about people not being rude or hash to newbie, it's not possible because everyone may not be the same on how to  approach them. newbie must develop thick skin to blend with the forum. I know that most newbie breaks some rules out of ignorant but some may still know and want to try and see if they can be punished for their action. Newbie should read the pinned message on any board they enter, as to be fully aware of the penalty of offenders, not just going about as if here is a social media where you can post anything without a law. Even as they are new they should read properly and post carefully and avoid position a misinformation that will attract people to them.

Those that are new in this forum can’t actually know all the forum rules at once, the longer you stay in this forum the more you know the rules very well.

‎If you are new here don’t put too much pressure on yourself to know everything at once, just take it one step at a time.
‎The longer you stay here the more things you will know.

‎We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance.

‎When I newly joined this forum I didn’t know all the rules, but the longer I stayed the more familiar those rules were to me.
You are not correct; the forum doesn't have many rules, and they are not difficult to understand. The reason why many newbies are not familiar with the forum rules is that when they join the forum, they are not interested in reading through the rules, and this is why there are always mistakes. If the forum were something so difficult, I believe there wouldn't be any old members in this forum; everyone would have been a victim of breaking forum rules. Not knowing the forum rules is an individual mistake, not because it is difficult or something else.

What is the purpose of this topic? Please think about it yourself and see that this topic is not necessary at all.

We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance.
If anyone violated the forum rules, the person will not be blamed but he will face the consequences. Example is anyone that plagiarized, the person will be banned. If the person post repeatedly on a thread without any other people posting, his post will be merged and so on.

While I'm trying to get things from the Op point which I get part of there are some laws that ought to be known or still you will suffer the consequences.

Those who may not give attention to the laws when found guilty may still suffer from it depending are grievous is the offence and this can be plagiarism and Ai contents, merit begging or farming.

Yes, it's true that an individual can't know everything about the forum at once when joining the forum as a newbie, but yet that doesn't mean if a newbie is found committing or going against any of the forum rules due to ignorance, that he/she won't be punished, because the forum rules don't care if you were ignorant of it or not. And which is why even though you are not to know everything about this forum,  at the unofficial list of Bitcointalk rules and guidelines by mprep is one which every newbie is ought to know, as it starts categorically the list of things that are prohibited here, and likewise what is also allowed here. And that alone is enough basic knowledge any newbie needs to start his journey on this forum .

Most members of the forum suspect a beginner account to be an alt account. That is where the harshness on newbies starts from.
Even if someone suspects a member for not being a newbie but pretending to be one, that’s not enough for the member to be harassed, especially when the rule-breaking is not something that’s generally unacceptable like plagiarism, although some members view things differently.

I'm not sure why this looks like you are defending here instead of making awareness for newbies, there is nothing like ignorance to law. If a person that is new to an environment is admitted to a school, the rules will be hand over and it's their responsibility to know these rules. It's up to you if you decide to learn about them or ignore but the very day you break any of them, you are going to face the consequences. By the way, who doesn't know that cheating is a bad thing to do, it's a society culture and norm not to cheat.
I don't think OP's post look more like a defence than awareness, because there are several reasons why people break rules and ignorance happens to be one of them.

I understand the angle OP is coming from and it is true that people break rules because they genuinely didn't know the rule exists or they misunderstand what the rule means.

However, not only newbies break rules, even old forum users breaks the forum rules as well. Let's take a rule such as, "Do not enroll your account and your Alts in the same signature campaign"  they know this rule, but they chose to ignore it.

They ignored this rule for two reasons, is either they think they won't get caught or they believe the rule is unfair or unnecessary. Therefore, ignorance can lead to rule breaking, but not everyone who break a rule is ignorant.

I agree with you that the forum rule is actually easy and clear to understand just like the once you mentioned, however there some rules or things that newbies may not actually know at the beginning like AI rules, using translator to post in another local board, cheating on contest, posting things that are not verified, begging of merit, creating thread recently created by another member, spamming, buying of account, etc.
I actually understand what you meant. A long time ago I was mentioned in the Russia board, when I got the notification I went to see why I was mentioned and I used translator to read the reason why I got mentioned and I think it happened to be something i created.
And out of ignorance I used same translator to reply them and I never knew it was wrong for me to do that.
One to two months later i found out that using translator to reply in another local board was wrong.
But God being so kind, that was the only time i made such mistake.

Someone can’t actually know everything about the forum at once.
But once you know, make sure you don’t continue breaking the rules and always be guided.

The problem is that newbies find it difficult to read those pinned threads and miss the simple rules. They prefer to rush and create duplicate threads without considering to use the search engine because I know that search engine isn't something new to any newbie because a lot of social media platforms have the search engine. A newbie should read more and post less.

I doubt if all OG's had even been able to read in pinned posts in all the section due to how numerous they're and most of them are mega of contents that you can't exercise that enough patient to read all through from the A-Z.
Your solicitation not to be harsh at newbies sounds good because there're also certain user's who had gained experience in the forum that seems to oppress newcomers but I think such acts should strengthens the newbies to adapt in good conducts because, some newbies comes into the forum and without having good knowledges about the forum, they'll be exhibiting some nonchalant attitudes that's goes contrarily to the forum rules.
So you don't expect either the newbies or any user going against the rules to be romanced or pet while out of their ignorantic behaviours with the forum.

Lastly try to read the pinned posts in every board you visit

Newbies should try as it's better to spend time reading and getting yourself familiarize with the forum rules than to end up regretting forever as you wish you knew ahead before committing the offense. If you end up getting yourself ban, it becomes a forever problem for you because coming back with a new account, makes you to commit another offense (ban evasion) so you see why reading all the rules to understand them is better. There are other rules that aren't written but your common sense should make you understand what they are the more you participate on the forum. Here's a plus; take corrections when they come and they should be quick as possible and you won't be punished.

So you mean that it is not easy for newbies to know that cheating in contests is very wrong? It is just like saying children do not know that if they put their hand in fire, it will hurt them.

Although, I did not see anywhere on the rules about cheating a contest. So no one will be banned for cheating in contests, but such person's account and his known alts are going to be given negative feedback and which is normal.
If you see things from my perspective, you will understand that those accounts that appear to be newbies cheating in contests are not actually newbies, they are peoples alt accounts.

Most of the rules we observed here were not stated on the official forum rules, example cheating in contest, cheating in signature campaigns with Alts accounts and so on.

But, we can find all this rules in contest threads, signature campaign threads and similar threads. I have come to understand that having multiple accounts will make you break many forum rules if you don't have self control, especially cheating in contest and signature campaigns.

I wanted to ask the OP how long in the process for newbies will it take for them to know each rule. From what time to what time for the different rules of the forum. Well then, for plagiarism every learned person should know that plagiarism is a crime, it doesn't have to learnt from the forum for anyone to know this and make it a normal thing not to do even without knowing that the forum rules is against plagiarism.

If someone is completely new, not knowing the rules can be an explanation for mistakes, but it is not a reason to be exempt from the responsibility of breaking the rules. If a new person comes and engages in an incident like plagiarism, then his fault is not that he did not know the rules. Rather, his fault is that he did not actually come here to learn anything. The reason is clear that when someone comes here to learn, he will not actually go to plagiarize others. Especially if the same user posts the same text again and again, takes the help of AI again and again, and deliberately cheats, then it must be understood that his purpose in coming to the forum was never to learn.

You are right that even after being on the forum for a long time, many people do not know some of the rules. Therefore, it is not enough to just be on the forum. If someone has the mentality of reading regularly, verifying information, admitting mistakes and accepting corrections, he can learn a lot.

The problem is that newbies find it difficult to read those pinned threads and miss the simple rules. They prefer to rush and create duplicate threads without considering to use the search engine because I know that search engine isn't something new to any newbie because a lot of social media platforms have the search engine. A newbie should read more and post less.
Your advice is truly excellent for all beginners, as they essentially need to read more before writing more. Writing more immediately can also lead to mistakes if they don't have the necessary knowledge to reference. Therefore, the main step is to use search engines and look at more pinned threads in each sub-topic to better understand the various topics before writing. So, your advice is clearly very appropriate for all beginners who have entered this forum, and it should be the same on other platforms as well.

‎Lastly try to read the pinned posts in every board you visit
When I joined here as a new member, pinned posts helped me a lot. At first, I couldn't read all the rules at once. So when I went to post on a board, I would read the pinned post and then share my opinion on that board various topic. Because important guidelines are given in shortcuts there. The answers to all the common questions that people normally ask are also written at the beginning. The rules in the forum are not a matter of memorizing. There are some common mistakes that should be avoided. The point is that if I understand how meaningful, informative, helpful the opinion I am expressing is in the forum and how much creativity I have here. A user will understand the rest of the rules over time.

‎I will encourage those that are new in this forum to always visit the meta and reputation board, some cases over there will help you know what you should do or not do in this forum
‎This advice is not for beginners alone even some older members in this forum, because I believe some older members still don’t know all the rules.

‎Lastly try to read the pinned posts in every board you visit
You can’t learn everything at once as a beginner, but it would be advisable if you know those major rules that could lead to your account being banned permanently just like plagiarism and use of AI to create your posts. When I joined this forum I made sure I didn’t copy any writer’s content and present it like it was my own personal knowledge,it’s fine if you want to cite any example with someone else’s opinion but make sure you acknowledge them by adding a reference link.Knowing the rules and not adhering to it are two different things, when you know the rules as a newbie always make sure you adhere to them otherwise you might lose your account. All the older members on this forum are conservant with the rules except it’s a new rule that was just enacted recently just like the signature ban rule, that’s why every member on this forum just always track the Meta board because ignorance is no excuse.

Sincerely, what's the need of this post? Somehow, its seems like you are encouraging laziness and not going through things to learn more better and faster.

Common man, Who knows everything at once? It's has always been bit by bit. Perhaps, am sure that the forum is not too harsh on newbies. It's just corrections, maybe somehow sounds a bit harsh, but you should know it's individualistic, not everyone speaks roughly to people. So we can capitalize on few persons way to everyone here. This forum is a peaceful and informative place, and you shouldn't sound like they completely treat people that make mistakes badly or very harsh.

Generally, I think your topic title and your first 3 lines aren't making any sense at all. It's either you edit or pull it down completely. My thoughts though.

That's not how I remembered my own experience, I've spent over a year on the forum before knowing about the forum rules, I was so hooked into learning everything that I could on this forum that I couldn't even care less if there is some rules or not, it went well for a while until I started seeing some complains.

Plagiarism and creating topics without original links and so on, the adrenaline was there and it was all about Bitcoin and crypto mining, I was young and still in school, have a father who believed in a child, it was a rollercoaster, all I am saying is I take the warnings seriously and I believe that this is how new members are been treated till date, you don't get punished without some warnings at first.

I do not think that the problem is in the pressure on beginners, but rather in alt accounts that claim to be new members (it is easy to notice because of the style of their posts).

welcome message was a necessary procedure, but the forum rules are easy and clear:

 - Avoid posting virus/malware links.
 - Avoid plagiarism.

I think the desire to grow fast make some newbies miss out on some certain things they should know.

I liked this point. "Cheating in contests.” OP, are you serious? Let’s check the terms and conditions of any contest. Doesn’t it say that fraud is not allowed, that you can’t participate with multiple accounts, and so on and so forth? What else needs to be written for a poor, inexperienced beginner to understand this? Do we really need to say several times what is considered normal in the world, not to deceive or lie? Is that really necessary?

I’ll keep it short: what is right and normal for people will be followed by a normal person even without rules. But if someone comes to the forum with other intentions, then neither rules nor warnings will help them.  That’s the essence of the person, not their lack of education or understanding of the rules, OP.

I totally disagree with you. Any beginner that claim they don't know about the things you mentioned, it means they never read at all. The first thing expected to do when one joins new forum is to read about the rules. It's not specific to Bitcointalk alone, every platform you can think of, getting to know about the rules is ethical.

These rules are contained in the pin threads. Cheating on contest is intentional because there is usually a rule on the contest thread that clearly prohibit cheating. I can't imagine someone participating in contest without reading the rules. If one's desire is to grow as fast as possible, complying with the forum rules should be their priority. Does it make sense to get your account banned for breaking rules while you're eager to grow and miss the rules?
