Lastly try to read the pinned posts in every board you visit
It's a first thing to do, not the last thing and you are wrong by teaching newbies like this. This thread is another pointless thread, similar to this following thread. Use the search function before creating a thread. There are pinned threads to read, and people don't read, just create new threads about nothing new while new threads are even worse than existing threads. I agree that the first things for newbies to do in every boards that they open is to read the pinned threads, the pinned threads are the guides into what is expected of every posters on every topic in the board, if a newbie understands what ought to and what ought not in a board they have learnt the basic rules. Knowing about the technicalities of Bitcoin as a newbie who doesn't have any prior experience would take some time depending on how intelligent the person is but knowing about the forum rules is not difficult. This is why pinned threads are the basics and must read for newbies, if they do and understand them it would be easy for them to navigate the board without fear of breaking any rules. When I was a newbie in this forum I didn't ask most of the questions that newbies usually ask because the boards are self explanatory through pinned threads.

Most of the registrations are not even just learning about bitcoin, they are registering because someone had told them that they will be able to make money post here. Thus their initial action is post as much as possible, not to sit down and read out them pinned threads. Of course, it does not necessarily allow anyone to break law, and, as others have noted, none of the above were good excuses, but really it is why the issue keeps happening after X years.
Perhaps, if it was required that campaign managers read and follow rules and reputation board prior to entering a campaign, we would not have as many of the "newbie broke a rule" cases. So just a thought -- we are all here talking about a problem, which is a part of our own system of signature campaigns.

There are few rules in this forum, by following which you can easily learn and gain experience. In this current situation if you can refrain from copy paste and refrain from plagiarism, then you will definitely be able to survive. And there is enough space to gain knowledge in this forum, no matter what you are into, you can get help from this forum. So every member, new and old, can learn from the posts pinned in this forum, so it is important to spend time in this forum to complete yourself with experience.

Bold of you to assume anyone actually reads the pinned posts. Half the Legendary accounts here still just randomly post everywhere hoping a merit falls out.
Sure, we shouldn't nuke newbies from for a single misplaced thread, but by the time someone posts their 10th "Will quantum computers break Bitcoin?" thread, the ignorance defense wears a bit thin.

Those that are new in this forum can’t actually know all the forum rules at once, the longer you stay in this forum the more you know the rules very well. If you are new here don’t put too much pressure on yourself to know everything at once, just take it one step at a time. The longer you stay here the more things you will know. We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance. When I newly joined this forum I didn’t know all the rules, but the longer I stayed the more familiar those rules were to me. I will encourage those that are new in this forum to always visit the meta and reputation board, some cases over there will help you know what you should do or not do in this forum This advice is not for beginners alone even some older members in this forum, because I believe some older members still don’t know all the rules. Lastly try to read the pinned posts in every board you visit
I think The rules here are very simple and not that much complicated to read and understand within a day or two the most, so I don’t know why they can’t know all the forum rules at once, they’re very direct rules which only talks about the does and don’ts of the forum. even if they don’t know all at least they should be able to get themselves well acquainted with the most basic ones. When somebody comes into a new environment there’s every need to study and understand how things are being done in the area. So, I think that the first thing a newbie should do is to study the rules and regulations of the forum and not just to rush in making posts. It took me about some days trying to study the forum and it’s mode of operations and get myself acquainted with the basic rules before I started posting having been registered few days past. At least a day or two can be used to study and understand the rules.

I joined this forum by starting from my local forum. The reason is clear, the language used is very easy to understand. This makes it easier for me to figure out how this forum works, what can and cannot be done. Another tip is don’t be shy to admit mistakes and ask questions because that really helps. So I didn’t need many days to start participating in discussions since I could understand the language being used. Next, basically rules evolve and we’ll automatically adapt. As for the global forum rules, I think they’re not much different because the local forum certainly refers to the global rules. But one thing is for sure, this forum urges us not to be lazy about reading.

Even though the forum may be harsh on newbies, I don't think it is harsh to newbies who break simple rules. Anybody who has been on the internet for a while won't struggle with keeping the forum rules. Most of the things are things common sense should tell you. Like not plagiarising, not generating posts with AI. These are things that people should ordinarily know are wrong anywhere and shouldn't do them. Common sense should also tell any person that when they go to a place, whether online or offline, they should read the rules of the place. I believe that a newbie who actually reads, even though it would be obvious that he's green, he would avoid a lot of mistakes. It's not quantum mechanics that you need years to learn. Knowing all the rules is not the goal, but using common sense to know what you should ordinarily know is not difficult to do.

Forum rules are not enforced very strictly to be honest. The only thing they should avoid at any cost is plagiarism, and what is costing them is they simply copy from AI chat bots and post it as their own content, which got no use and they deserve to be banned. If someone is really interested they might be asking silly/annoying question but they won't go on and teach others about bitcoin when they don't even know what it is that is what pisses the other users.

I think that all of us here are like that too, no one can understand everything all at once, there must be a process until we can comprehend the forum rules and how everything works. So, for those who are new to this forum, they should be more patient as they learn the ropes. That definitely takes time and patience, but if they’re willing to learn and follow the rules, it will all be worth it in the end. It should be easier for people who want to learn. What often makes it difficult is when beginners just want instant results and think that this forum isn't strict. As a result, they spam the forum and start using ChatGPT or other AI models to create their posts, which often leads to their accounts being tagged or even banned.

In my own opinion, some newbies are actually seeing the forum rules in a written format without reading it carefully, if at all they take thier time or sacrifices thier time to go through all the rules and regulations gradually it would be more better than looking at it as picture. Some members may spend too much time in the forum without bothering to read through and begin making some silly mistakes unexpectedly, being a beginner should not be an excuses of abandon the forums rules, so following the guidelines in the forum as a newbie may pave or gives you room to learn more.
I also noticed or observed one or two things that may help newbies, which is putting more efforts on reading of other experienced members thread and acquire things there too, than rushing to psot a new threads at the initial level. Going round the members thread would definitely teaches a newbies almost and be clear on some unclear rules and regulations. Also some rules are actually learnt from seeing what has happened to someone else before and learn from thier and know what causes the issue. Same goes to the already or experiences members, because so.e of the forum rules may change or new rules may comes up at any moment.

Learning is a continuous process in life, and with that in mind, I don't think not knowing everything about the forum should discourage people from engaging in discussions on the forum, inasmuch as they do it meaningfully and are on point with the topic in question. Because that's actually what matters most on this forum. However, one good thing about this forum is that each board has their respective rules written on top of it, which any newbie who wants to engage in discussion on those thread can just visit read what is written on it. While apart from that the "Beginners and Help" board is the best place for newbies to engage in discussion, followed by Bitcoin Discussion board, and gambling for gamblers. While the rest can be avoided newbies.

At least he has to know the basic rules of the forums, just like the prohibition of AI use, merit begging, and spamming. These, in my view, are some rules that if you don't know about at first and violate can lead to serious issues related to your account. The first advice for a newbie is to ask about the rules, read them, understand them, and then practice them in the forum. With time, you will learn more things about the forums. However, knowing the rules should be the first priority for good growth here and can help avoid anything that can cause serious issues later for him.

I think it would have been very convenient if you had shared Lauda's thread Newbies - Read before posting in your opening post, which is required reading, but otherwise I agree with you. And I appreciate you writing this when you already have some experience, and not just after signing up, as is common lately on this board: you know meta and reputation, they may not be the most appropriate sections for a newbie to write, but they are for reading and learning a lot about this place. I submit that most of the rules in this forum are built on common-sense. Just avoid the things that has the potential of being tagged as a spam; or things that can put you in a position where people can report you. While this may be the case, reading the forum rules is the best thing to do as a newbie. Even if you find it to be inconvenient, such inconvenience is worth the hassle compared if your account gets reported thereby ultimately banning you in the process. Sometimes we have to sacrifice a little bit of our time for the sake of maintaining the integrity of this forum for the benefit of all. Forum rules are not enforced very strictly to be honest. The only thing they should avoid at any cost is plagiarism, and what is costing them is they simply copy from AI chat bots and post it as their own content, which got no use and they deserve to be banned. In the contrary, forum rules are indeed enforced with great respect especially to spams. There are other forum users here that help the admins in determining which posts are spams and scams that also trigger an instant report and delete button from the admins once proven to be of such. Also if you feel like the forum rules are not that enforced, it is miles better to just observe them because it can potentially be reported in the future should it be enforced one way or another.

As a beginner who just come to this forum, it’s important for you to go through the forum rules, read them and avoid so many things that are prohibited in the forum to avoid losing your account. This forum wants to remain reputable, that is why they are strict when it comes using AI to post or plagiarism, such acts will spoil the forum’s reputation, and with how far this forum has gone, I don’t think such behavior will be accommodated here anymore because we have moderators that clean the forum’s reputation.

Meself have actually never read the forum rules. Plus, even if I to, I might not be able to absorb 'em. But, some do get clear automatically overtime with discussions that happen around. These, in my view, are some rules that if you don't know about at first and violate can lead to serious issues related to your account. Those are commun rules between all the forums but we can't blame a newbie for just being a newbie. And I guess this is the main reason why: - Forum admins and mods are comprehensible with new comers at the level it comes that they don't strictly apply rules strictly but rather give another chance to the newbie to correct his mistakes. - Sometimes we see a professional newbie despite being arround for just few days. With the except of being an alt account for an already existing account, that user is a gorum user by default who used to frequent forums and social media platforms especially those being anonymously based like Reddit or Quora or any other social forum for whatever subject. Reading forum rules at once won't help anybody be a correct forum user. Imo, the main key is to be an active user by keep reading and join discussions. Users will always help each other correct their mistakes and this is the best practical school rather than just memorizing rules just like a machine device.

Although mistakes made by newbies due to ignorance are mostly skipped, but there is no forgiveness for some mistakes, whether it is new or old, like if someone is posted using AI, then in this case not knowing the rules is not a crime but not following the rules is crime. So everyone should know the new and contemporary rules or discussions of the forum and contribute new knowledge regularly with discipline, in this case it is important to keep up to date on Meta, Reputation, Service boards. And for your own development, it is more important to make a habit of reading than posting on the forum to know everything new and share your knowledge with everyone. It is everyone's responsibility to follow these rules always keep yourself updated and to be a good contributor to the forum.

I submit that most of the rules in this forum are built on common-sense. Just avoid the things that has the potential of being tagged as a spam; or things that can put you in a position where people can report you.
I’ve been following the forum since 2020, and the rules have been constantly changing to adapt to new things. This isn’t a problem for me, but it seems like for others, the changes can make it hard to adjust. I keep supporting the positive discussions on the forum so that it has a clear foundation. Even though I understand that sometimes it takes a process to adjust and stay active in such a good forum. Rules are not only useful for users; they’re obviously meant to make it easier for moderators to have a clear basis for deciding on further actions. We’ve already felt the benefits of this, and the forum tends to get better and better. The forum should continue to grow, and users should have a broader perspective on its progress. If this keeps going, the forum will become an incredible place.

I think the first thing every sensible person would do is ask for the do's and don't's at the same time ensuring that you do everything to keep to the rules. Nobody is being hard and harsh on no newbie, it is just expected from everyone of them to not expect a soft landing and patting in the back whenever they're not doing something well. It should be thank you to whoever gave you the orientation before joining otherwise you'd have successfully broken one of the rules as well. It is something I'm most grateful for actually, the ability to read and change my opinion on things, I go in there (Meta) to read again when I lack good knowledge about a particular rule.
