Some of these newbies who are used to social media posts might not be familiar with plagiarism. Some social media platforms don't care about plagiarism or the use of artificial intelligence. When they come to such forums that regulate these practices, they might end up becoming victims if they fail to follow the rules.

But this place is not a social media which don't care much about plagiarism, but rather an online discussion forum, which is almost the same as an online website. And that's why the use of third party content without crediting the original owners is highly considered a crime. And moreover, plagiarism is an English word, which implies that a social media user is supposed to have known what it means, despite being a consistent social media user.

Quote
The pathetic case of Former University of Cambridge sociology professor Jason Arday, who was accused of plagiarism, is an example of how this practice could destroy the lives of people. Just obey the rules of an organization, and you would be fine. I have always told newbies in different forums that it is not compulsory to make a contribution if you don't have anything to say or write.
It's actually unethical for a university professor to be caught during plagiarism, because this is what students would have done and he queries them, but unfortunately, he happens to be the victim. And because of that, I don't think it was right leaving such professor in the University, as if he is likely ruined other students.

-snip-
Even there are many complaints about leniency of the forum on bans against posters with plagiarism, AI recent years.

This fact means forum users have many chances to be known about their rule breaks, change their posting, improve post quality, learn more about forum rules, and avoid elimination from the forum community.
Plagiarism in recent years before AI took control of everything has become the most discussed topic and the cause of many accounts being banned and banned on this forum.
Because there are many tools to check which accounts do it and in chat it also looks strange with random words.

There are actually many warnings before the ban that they fix previously banned posts so that they don't get banned, but many ignore them because they think they are invisible.
And now with technological advancements it's easier to figure it out because AI has mastered everything, elimination is done quickly, unlike the era before AI which still had to use a lot of tools to prove it.

Staff do not want to hand out bans for unconstructive posts but if we feel that you as a user are continually making very poor or unsubstantial posts due to your paid signature the following bans will be issued:

First offence: 7 days
Second offence: 14 days
Third offence: 30 days
Fourth: Permanent ban

Your first ban is your first warning. If you have to be banned for a fourth time it is permanent and you will no longer be allowed to participate on the forum under any accounts. Note: If you are banned on one account then you are not allowed to post under any accounts you own for the duration of your ban. The only exception to this rule is Meta where you can discuss the circumstances of your ban if you wish to do so but anywhere outside of that sub will be considered ban evasion and will get your ban doubled, but it is generally best to just patiently wait out your ban and improve your posts on return and hopefully no further bans will be needed.
Then the quote you gave maybe the origin of Sigban which is currently applied by Nuti with a more modern application https://postflayer.onrender.com/,
displaying the score of each Forum member so that they know what needs to be improved.

Practice makes perfect, you cannot expect to be good at something when you are just getting introduced to it. This applies to the forum as well, you learn gradually by reading and also asking questions. The reason why a lot of beginners break the forum rules a lot of times is because they sign up and then they start thinking of how to grow their account immediately instead of thinking about how they can grow their account. One way to survive in the forum is by reading carefully, without that anything you jump into might be useless.  The forum is a good space to learn about Bitcoin and other crypto currencies, including a whole lot of other things as well.
Most people feel discouraged because senior members correct them in a manner that Seems harsh but they forget that the lesson is in the correction and not how it was presented.

‎We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance.

Forum rules are quite easy to follow and yes you can't learn everything at the same time but there are most important ones that you can begin with, there are some people that when you correct them in their mistakes they tend to do the same thing over and over again and that's a problem, they may break the rules out of ignorance but that doesn't mean that there won't be any consequences for their mistakes though I don't agree with talking to anyone harshly but ignorance isn't overlooked here in the forum because in any organization that you find yourself the first thing is to ask for the basic rules that can easily get you in trouble and try to avoid them.

When an information is being passed especially when it has to do with a beginner breaking a forum rule it might seem harsh but everything that's said to them is to correct them so they can put in more effort and do better. Getting discouraged is never an option because everyone knows the benefits of being in the forum. It is very important to prioritize reading as a beginner to guide you so you don't make careless mistakes. It is impossible to know everything at the beginning but with time you can gradually make improvements I'd you learn.

Honestly this is the problem with some beginners and earning is a gradual process. Once you try to rush things, you will start messing up. If you are new to a place, the first thing you should know are the do's and don'ts, the same thing applies to this forum. Reading the forum rules properly before making a post should be a must for newbies in my opinion.

There's nothing special about growing your account quickly, because ignoring the rules can hurt your account instead of helping it. This forum offers a lot of things and when you put your focus only on growing your account, it can cause laziness which you will start ignoring the important information.

If you are new to this forum then spend most of your time reading the forum because that will help you understand how this forum works and it will also help you in understanding how to grow your account here. Once you have the understanding that how to achieve high rank here then rest of your journey becomes easy here.

One mistake which many of us make here is that we don't search the forum to see whether our query is already answered or not. Due to this reason, same question is answered multiple times. Just try to avoid repeating that.

When i peruse through your post, i just laughed because i felt it immediately as if I'm the one you are actually referring to because i can remember vividly that i did allot of mistakes that i was corrected allover again, although within those period the journey wasn't that easy on me but I'm grateful to have picked courage in putting all my mistakes right and i know that it took my months to get use of things of the community and if i can pass certain levels, every newbies can do it, it is just left for any newbies to a courageous by picking correction where necessary in the forum and keep moving because you must have a story to tell on how you are able to archive the level you will be any time soon.

No one is an island of knowledge, you cannot know everything within a short period of time and no one in the forum expects you to do that but what's expected of you is to make sure you study everything that's necessary and get yourself acquainted with the rules and regulations. To start, some beginners don't even know they are breaking the rules when they do certain things until they are being corrected. If you don't study you cannot know what you need to, being on the forum is all about reading and also contributing valuable ideas but to be able make constructive posts you must first of all be consistent with learning, you cannot teach what you aren't sure of.

It is true that practice makes perfect, but not in terms of rules. On every platform, there are rules, and everyone is expected to read and follow the rules before they start using the platform. It is just instructions, nothing more than that.don’t do this, don’t do that and that is all.The point is that most beginners do know the rules but because of what they want to achieve quickly that is reason why some of them end up breaking the rules. If people always take it easy with every rule that beginners break in the forum, a lot of beginners will continue breaking the rules, which I think will not make any sense.

What every newbie is expected to do is quickly ask about anything they don’t understand and they will be guided. And for those who easily give up just because they got corrected, they are not really ready to learn. If they are ready to learn, they will never give up.And again, people should understand that everyone way of approaching things can never be the same. Some people ways of approaching things may seem harsh but they don’t necessarily mean it that way.and even if someone means it that way, someone is there to learn they should not feel offended.

Those that are new in this forum can’t actually know all the forum rules at once, the longer you stay in this forum the more you know the rules very well.

‎If you are new here don’t put too much pressure on yourself to know everything at once, just take it one step at a time.
‎The longer you stay here the more things you will know.

‎We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance.

‎When I newly joined this forum I didn’t know all the rules, but the longer I stayed the more familiar those rules were to me.

‎I will encourage those that are new in this forum to always visit the meta and reputation board, some cases over there will help you know what you should do or not do in this forum
‎This advice is not for beginners alone even some older members in this forum, because I believe some older members still don’t know all the rules.

‎Lastly try to read the pinned posts in every board you visit
People do not learn everything from the mother's womb, they come from the mother's womb and then gradually start learning everything, just like this forum and about this forum, no one could learn at once, people here have gradually gained experience that the more time they spend on this forum, the more they know about this forum. When a person pays more attention to something and spends more time on it, then he will definitely be able to master that thing well, so of course we should spend more time on this forum and know the unknown things.

I can agree with you.
Each of us is different, and has a different character, approach to new things, learning, etc.
People who are more responsible will always make an effort to study the available materials, understand the rules, etc.
However, there are many people who do not take the rules seriously or think that the rules are not important to them.
That is their attitude and thinking.
When such people come to a forum like this, their main motive is to reach their goal, and usually this is to use the opportunity to monetize their status on the forum through campaigns, in the shortest and fastest way possible.
This usually means bypassing the forum rules as much as possible.
Of course, not all new members are like that, but we must be aware of the purpose for which some members come to this forum and why they are willing to break the forum rules.
Of course, sometimes it can happen that a new member unintentionally breaks a forum rule, but usually it is immediately visible and can be forgiven.

When an information is being passed especially when it has to do with a beginner breaking a forum rule it might seem harsh but everything that's said to them is to correct them so they can put in more effort and do better.
If you are one that is normally civil and well cultured when relating with people and systems especially the ones that you are not too familiar with, it will be easy to learn the forum rules as a beginner and grow to learner other ones as you continue to stay on the forum. You don't need to know all the rules in the forum. just don't be a messy person around the forum and learn the principle of searching out answers before asking it out. if you always try t use the search option to access information before posting, i will be impossible to break any forum rule.

like the ones that newbies are fund of doing which is spamming on the forum, if they always search out the doubt they want to clear before creating a post to ask a question that has been asked on the forum, they will not fall into that form of spam. use the search options and your chances of getting things wrong becomes too small.

Anyway the rules are already available very much even in almost every discussion board and its children there is always a thread embedded to be used as guidelines I think that is enough, so reminding them in any way it depends on whoever submits it, the problem of offense we have discussed many times in meta and it depends on the subjectivity of each person.

If his job is just asking and then he leaves, which is the most annoying of many beginners, I think they should just ask google or AI to get a short answer according to his will.
Don't forget if indeed they spam to report it or if they bother you, you can ignore it.

Getting discouraged is never an option because everyone knows the benefits of being in the forum. It is very important to prioritize reading as a beginner to guide you so you don't make careless mistakes. It is impossible to know everything at the beginning but with time you can gradually make improvements I'd you learn.
When the beginners join the forum so sometime they consider correction a harsh feedback and became disheart actually these correction improve our posting quality but newbie become so emotional due to these corrections no one can learn all the rules in one day it takes time .
They should adopt the habit of self-research to servive on this forum we should have much patience and i think tone matter a lot in this situation.

According to you which things the seniors should keep in mind while guiding the beginners Huh

What do you think is there any simple onboard guide or mentorship system should create for new users or not???

Inasmuch as newbies can’t learn the rules of the forum everyday it would be advised they keep an eye on the rules each day in other to get it attached to their memory. And it’s not a matter of knowing the rules alone but the most important thing is the adhere to them because most mistake can get one’s account banned permanently.Just as @rachael9385 has said, there are a lot of benefits that comes from being a member of this forum,so it would be so painful if you let you account go down because of ignorance,so lastly I would encourage every newbie to become familiar with the forum rules even as it wouldn’t take a day to be conversant with them and also adhere to them because a penalty is attached to each rule when violated.

Exactly. As a beginner criticism that sounds harsh is actually meant to be constructive not to seem harsh towards them. Especially since the goal is to encourage them to improve themselves, work harder and avoid making the same mistakes in the future. Of course, when we're still beginners we naturally make mistakes, especially on forums like Bitcointalk where many beginners sometimes struggle to follow the forum rules and are still confused about how to use the forum.

If a beginner feels that reprimands or criticisms are just a problem it will only slow down their progress. As a beginner, the main priority is to read the rules and available guides so you don’t get stuck making unnecessary mistakes. It’s even better to be corrected as a beginner than to keep making mistakes and then get caught when your account ranks up because you’ve made too many errors. No one becomes an expert right away, but by consistently learning and accepting corrections, your ability to understand the forum and its rules will gradually improve over time. The most serious forum mistakes are plagiarism and sharing virus/malware links, as @hugeblack mentioned on the first page.

Picking offense because of how a message is presented to you is most certainly an option. Either it does help you to get better or not is up to you. I mean, you can be offended with how the message is presented and still manage to pick the truth or underlying lesson out of it. The forum is one place you shouldn’t look to find people being emotional or sympathetic, that’s some very costly commodity to find here.

So when someone is told to read the rules or do more of reading than writing and perhaps having to pay more attention to certain aspects of their activity on the forum, that’s something to be given conscious thought and consideration. It’s all in a bid to help YOU!

No one is island of knowledge but there are basic things to look out for and I'm sure this is not the only place of forum some of us has visited. My country has one of the largest forum Africa perhaps it's even the biggest and it's somehow related to how this forum work but the difference in advert is you don't have to make advertisements for people, you can wear your signature and personal text to push your business or you buy a space from the admin to promote in specific board.

We have challenges here but I can tell you the ones I have seen there is worse, the moderators fight tribalism, they are fed up with ethnicity, the slammers. Scams are not moderated over there just like here, so if you get scam you will have to bear the consequences of your actions. The forum is very similar like BTT and I'm sure there are other places that has similar forum like this place that would have exposed you, no need to start here with a baby steps.

This was always my rule to get really introduced to the forum, keep reading and postpone writing until you are fully aware about forum ethics if you really want your opinions to get attention or you plan to stay longer in the forum. You will never adopt forum rules if you are just a periodic guest who aren't familiar with forum presence in general. With bitcointalk forum, it isn't an experience like other forums so it needs someone to be really attracted to stay here.
