For me, no amount will make we walk away completely in gamble. First you need to ask to know the reasons as to why we chose to gamble, I know many are gambling for profit and this set of people is likely to say that there is a certain amount they will win from gambling that will make them walk away completely. but as for me, I don't think it's possible because I have passion for football it's one of my favorite games so nothing on earth can deprive me from stopping it completely. Even though I win big amount from gambling I will still continue gambling because I didn't intend to make profit from gambling in the first place but that doesn't mean I won't take if when it comes rather I don't think about profit whenever I'm gambling.

There may be a few gamblers who take up gambling as a hobby, maybe because they are already very wealthy. But most gamblers want to make money from gambling, some want to double their money overnight, and many dream of owning a house and car with income from gambling; everyone's goals are different.
300k$ is a big amount of money in our country too. If I can win so much from gambling, then I will definitely stay away from gambling for the rest of my life, even if I do not have a job, just pay all expenses with this money, and my life will end very well. So if it's 100K$ and I can win, I don't need to gamble anymore. It is a big amount for me to change my life.

This isn't a simple one, but if any $10 million dollar tradeoff was going to be possible then I would take it and probably quit watching most sports just to avoid being dragged right back in..and yes some are saying too much money but you need to understand that am giving up my TV entertainment too so need to make my point..thinking about it maybe $100 million should be enough, go on some island and see what nature has out there Right? Or maybe go look for another hobby, especially for those who enjoy sports and gambling mainly for the entertainment they derive from it. It’s gonna be really hard getting to quit a hobby that’s literally become part of your life, so it’s only fair you’re beautifully compensated for it. But with the kind of money you’re mentioning, it’ll be easy to forget about gambling and get to acquire a fresh hobby.

That's an enough amount for a person to make a house, run a business, and enjoy the earnings from it. But again, it's all a matter of addiction. If they acquire a whole empire and have an addiction, they will lose it all to gambling. When you are taking such a high amount from gambling, then sure, gambling will addict you to itself. When you want to lose it and take a side, you will fail and be attracted to it again and again. So, my advice for others is to take this post as a reminder. If you get a high amount, first seek good treatment to rid yourself of this addiction, and then start your life otherwise, you will end up the same way.

It will be near impossible to walk away from gambling completely after winning some money, once you start to gamble that's the end of it, you will always feel like gambling.
This is why some people made a lot of money and they still come back to gamble more, so the story that OP shared isn't surprising, many people have made such mistake and some are still on similar journey as we speak.

300k is a lot of money, and even if I were a rich gambler, I would walk away with it, but gambling has this greed that comes with it, and if you don't put yourself under control you are going to end up losing. Winning comes by luck and it is impossible to get lucky consistently, always remember to take your wins and exit the game. I'm sure this gambler had the intention of walking away even he hits less than that amount but now that he got 300k dollars his instincts would tell him that there's a possibility that he could win more if he keeps on trying, this is what leads to losses.
But the possibility of winning that $300k with a $10 bet as widely speculated is not high and there is very tendency that the gambler may have lost accumulatively near that amount in jackpot, gambling is not a career but then we have people who choose that path and regardless how much money they win, they may not want to take a bow, but gor the general opinion most of us will definitely walk away from gambling and make a seal off that there won't be any more deposits from then hence forth moving on to other things.

It will be a lie if I said that all gamblers are gambling to have some fun, most gamblers want to make money from gambling atleast, now if you manage to win $300,000 from online gambling, fully paid, is this enough for you to stop gambling?
Someone I don't know was talking to a friend of mine yesterday and he said he once won 300k and gambling took everything back, he did alot with the money, build a house and start a farming business.
Slowly he started losing everything back to gambling and it was all because he failed to take his eye off gambling, a big mistake that cost him everything, but then I am thinking, isn't 300k big enough to walk away completely?
Additional, 300k is a lot of money in my country, enough to make one life like a king.
If your friend had realized he stood to lose everything, that amount would have been quite sufficient; however, he assumed he would keep winning and, not knowing when to stop, lost all his money. Greed is one of humanity's greatest enemies. The friend you mentioned lost everything precisely because of his greed. This isn't limited to gambling; people invest in cryptocurrency or the stock market, too. Sometimes luck is on their side and they quickly grow their capital into a substantial sum, yet the desire to earn even more leads them to eventually lose everything they had. To avoid this, set a goal and know when to stop once you’ve reached it.

One thing I know is that he is not the first gambler to have won such a huge amount of money and then still lost it all back in the game. I would like to believe that there are so many gamblers that have experience this and that's why I also believe that a lot of gamblers here lie that they just gamble for fun. Even if you know your limits and boundaries when gambling that doesn't take out the fact that you actually want to make cash from the habit but winning an amount like this is definitely life changing and in both ways too as this money can also be the downfall to your life if not properly managed and controlled.

it is not easy for everyone to have the same reason for gambling. There are those that gamble for entertainment and there are those that are there to make quick profit. However majority of gamblers are gambling because they want to make profit and as such they see gambling as a source of income. Therefore no matter how much they win from gambling it will be hard for them to stay away from gambling because they believe that they can be able to win more than the previous amount. Another thing is there inability to be able to maintain or manage huge amounts of money. As for me if am opportune to win such amount of money I may never gamble again.

That is very possible based on the amount of money the gambler used to wager and his level of greed too, because from the narration of this story, this gambler must be a greedy type because for me, I don't see reason why he will win such amount of money, use it to open farming business, build a house with it and lot more, and then ending up giving that money back to the system, he's level of greediness is the high one, and I guess he must have been using huge amounts of money in trying to win more money, because $300k is enough to be ok in my country if you venture into a rightful business.

Regardless of how huge the win is I will not completely stop gambling, one thing I have noticed is that once a person starts making huge amount of money the responsibilities and things that requires money increases making the money less valuable this is why no matter how much money a person has the money is never enough because people tends to live a life that best suit their pockets at anytime in life that is the reason the money will never fully satisfy a persons want, I have never seen a rich person relaxing because they can afford anything they want, rather they kept chasing money and working harder so their money will keep increasing and never finish. When you spend a dime it reduces, the more you spend the lower it goes the only solution is to continue with that which will help I increasing the money.

$300K is a huge amount but the real problem is not the amount of money, the problem is not being able to stop. Honestly when a gambler wins such a large amount of money, naturally the addiction to winning more than losing money starts working in his head. If someone returns to gambling even after such a big win, then the same cycle can start again even if he gets another $300k or $3 million. In the context of our country it is possible to arrange life beautifully with this money but the problem is not in the amount of money, the problem is created in the greed and habits in people's heads. So I think that in real life, it is possible to stop gambling completely after getting $300k only if someone can control themselves strictly, If you are not mentally strong enough to control yourself, it is not possible to get off the gambling board even if you get $1 million. And personally If i got that amount of money i try to give up gambling.

Every gambler has their own level of satisfaction, so we really cannot give a fixed amount, but for me maybe $1k is already enough and I can walk away with that.
When you say you can walk away, do you mean stop gambling for a time being or for a lifetime? Because $1k can be a target for one to reach either a year or a month, and when it’s achieved, the person can stop for the main time, but for lifetime settlements, I don’t think that amount is enough. I know no money is too much because of human greed, but $1k, on the other hand, is also very little. It's impossible for him to stop gambling because it a little win of $1k, so probably he's going to the option of walking away for the main time with the plans to come back after a few weeks or months depending on what he decides. Of course the amount is not something that can serve him for lifetime no matter the value of his country's currency, if he is given that amount after spending the money he will still come back to look for more money that's how it is with most gamblers especially those that has been lucky to win before.

Regardless of the amount of money won i doubt that any true gambler will quit, gambling is highly addictive and most gamblers are greedy, even humans naturally have this insatiable nature, they always want to conquer new grounds after defeating a certain milestone, personally i doubt that any amount of win will make me stop gambling because i have been gambling for years, i have tried most times to quit even after major wins and somehow i still find myself gambling.

No matter how much a gambler wins from gambling, even if they acquire most of their needs like houses and businesses as you have mentioned above, it will be very hard for a person to stop gambling even if he/she is not addicted because that is even when the person will be eyeing for more money to be made, as there is nothing like too much money in this life, winning a huge amount will be even much more a motivation to continue and wished for more winings. Some might even loose all the money won with the aim of winning more and some might even after acquiring many things are likely not to stop until probably he/she looses all the asset acquired or loose something important before he/she can thinks of stoping. Gambling is very hard to stop even when you are loosing because, you will want to win back all the money lost.

I'm among the gamblers that are gambling for fun or entertainment so no amount of money that I win in gambling will make me to walk away completely rather I withdraw 90% of my winning and use the money to get myself something that if I see it I will remember it was the money I won from gambling that made it possible for me to have it, and I will be gambling with the 10% I didn't withdraw and if I exhaust the money without winning I won't be chasing losses I will continue playing anytime I have spare money.

It’s not lie that every gamblers are gambling because of fun, most people are still hoping to make money from it. But if a person can win $300k, and collect the money in full, then the person is supposed to stop gambling and protect what he has. Because in many countries $300k is indeed a very big money that can change a person’s life totally.
The man made a very big mistake to even continued gambling after he have build a house and even started a farming business. Most times knowing when to walk away is part of winning. If you have win big it’s best to secure your money, instead of risking everything to gambling site.
If you are not gambling solely for money, then there is no reason to stop gambling. I might stop gambling if it is the criteria for me to win such an amount. But I wouldn't quit just because I won big, since gambling is fun to me. But I would have to develop my self-control since owning such a high amount can make one gamble with more money. First, I will ensure that the money is invested in viable assets or businesses. Then I will earmark some amount for my gambling activities because I might be lucky to win big again.

That amount is too small for a gambler to quit gambling only if he has already made up his mind to quit gambling initially, before he won $1k. He can only go on a break to enable him enjoy his profits and in order to control himself from getting carried away by his win. If most gamblers can go on a break after winning a reasonable amount of money, it will help them control their greedy nature.

It will be a lie if I said that all gamblers are gambling to have some fun, most gamblers want to make money from gambling atleast, now if you manage to win $300,000 from online gambling, fully paid, is this enough for you to stop gambling?
This is more than enough for me to stop. The only reason you’ll see people winning this big money and then go back to gambling is because they used the money to buy things that will incur them more expenses to maintain instead of venturing into a business that will bring them profit from time to time. You’re gambling for money, so if you are making money off another means, gambling will be of less interest to you unless you’re an addicted gambler.
Yes he started a good business which is farming business. Even though that should be his first time doing the farming business, he should have risked a little and not risk all the money. By doing so, gradually he’ll understand the business better and not make mistakes that’ll make him lose everything. Your friend was an addicted gambler and that caused him to lose everything even when he already won a jackpot through gambling.

When someone is a degenerated gambler I can tell you for a fact that, there is no amount of money that will be enough to motivate them to walk away, winning such amount will only fuel their brain to think they can turn the $300,000 into billions. For someone with a gambling mind, a big win just simply means more money to take bigger risks. The only way is for them to either ban themselve from gambling platforms as soon as the money appears in their account if not the temptation to try again will always set in.
