I think a lot of people thought that Bitcoin is going to cause a lot of problems for the fiat currencies and the countries because once it gets mainstream, people are going to prioritize Bitcoin over fiat currencies,
The funny thing now is that people are also thinking the same thing about Bitcoin. Many people say Bitcoin will take over fiat currency; meanwhile, that's not part of the purpose it was invented for. Although some have realised this and are also doing what's necessary by adopting it, some are still sceptical about it.
From my point of view, Bitcoin will not remain the same it is in the future, although it's value today, but in the future probably in the next 10 year just like the title of this discussion asked, Bitcoin will be more valuable than it's current status and many people who didn't adopt it today will have more than enough reasons to adopt it and hold, funny enough even those who bought for short term and sell off whenever they get little profit might also regret it because long term investment is far more preferable than short term investment.

What do you guys think?
Most definitely there will be new use cases especially as there's  this push for more adoption in various sectors in the global economy. Bitcoin eventually will never stop being a store of value, even as we are looking forward to more adoption and usability in other areas of finances and the likes, it will still continue to hold that value, as a decentralized coin with limited supply, it will still have its value keeping potential even in years to come, provided it gains as much adoption as possible and stays around for that long.

I see Bitcoin becoming attaining multiple use forms than it is now, more adoption and value potentials both for individuals and institutions globally, i see states even, adopting it into their system as some sort of economic buffer to help with currency strength and inflation cushion, there will be obviously more case use which we may not see coming now or be able to relate the possibility of such application untill that time comes and we will possibly be surprised at the scale of possibility its got.

The core identity of Bitcoin will not change in ten years. But people can increase its use. So far, apart from price fluctuations, the strengths of Bitcoin are still at the same level: fixed supply, we can control the assets ourselves, the opportunity for transactions without borders is still the same, and Bitcoin is still not dependent on a central institution as it was in the beginning. I think Bitcoin will play a big role in the future as a means of storing value. Especially in the future, its use may increase even more in those countries where the value of the currency decreases rapidly and the people of that country cannot trust the banking system. In those countries, Bitcoin can be given more importance as a savings.

I think the best thing to do now, consistent buying and accumulating of bitcoin, personally I wouldn’t be worried about what is happening with bitcoin, 10 years is equivalent to 2 circles, so it would be better to keep buying bitcoin, I assume that the market is favorable now, as long as you have some money to buy bitcoin consistently is just better you buy, instead of wasting such time, the future of bitcoin is going to be bright, and we should also invest with caution and try to invest with your discretionary income, which is money that is leftover that we have no use for, use that money to buy bitcoin.

If we think about the next 10 years from now, we will go through three Bitcoin halvings, so imagine what the position of Bitcoin will be after the three Bitcoin halvings. In this case, if we think about the next 10 years from the time Bitcoin was created, we will see how much popularity Bitcoin has gained in these ten years and the price of Bitcoin has created a milestone of $126k, which has made Bitcoin users and investors very interested in Bitcoin. I think that Bitcoin will be in a very good position in the next 10 years and will make Bitcoin more popular with people.

What can be more than increasing the size of your Bitcoin through accumulating bitcoin consistently? Nothing actually because being worried about what is going to happen to Bitcoin will not stop whatever that want to happen, what will happen is what no one can be 100 percent sure of, when you are worried you can make a wrong decision out of curiosity. There is no guarantee that the future of Bitcoin is going to be bright and why it is important not to invest beyond our discretionary income so that you will not be troubled for any reason.

There is certainly a lot of debate about where Bitcoin's value will reach in the next 10 years. However, it is no secret that Bitcoin is gradually becoming the most valuable asset for people. The progress Bitcoin has made in the last 10 years will increase even more in the next 10 years. Moreover, the way people have increased their attention to Bitcoin adoption, the value of Bitcoin will definitely increase a lot. Currently, Bitcoin is considered as digital gold and future generations will consider that digital gold as the most valuable asset in their lives. If Bitcoin's adoption increases, it will be widely used in almost everything, starting from Bitcoin payment methods, which will definitely be able to make a big change in the financial situation.

I don’t know how some people think, because if we will be honest, then we should know that the government is not even going to allow that happen. We should know the purpose why bitcoin was created, and uptill now we have not been able to achieve bitcoin purpose yet. Bitcoin was created to serve as alternative currency, bitcoin wasn’t created to replace fiat currency.

We want bitcoin to serve as alternative currency, and we finding it difficult to achieve that. All I expect from bitcoin in the next 10 years is for it to have gotten more awareness, but it’s can replace fiat currency.

You are right that an investor in the early accumulation stage should try to buy bitcoin regularly and increase his holding. It is good to have an idea about the bitcoin cycle, but an investor should invest according to his income flow and keep a long-term mindset. Investment activities should not be conducted by calculating the cycle. Even if the price of bitcoin decreases in the market, it cannot be bought aggressively, which can cause financial losses. The amount of investment in bitcoin should be adjusted according to the discretionary income flow. It is more important to improve your cashflow than constantly predicting where the price of bitcoin is going. And if a person wants to accumulate in bitcoin for 10 years, then his cashflow should be created in such a way that he can continue it for a long time. there is no need to stress so much about the short-term price of bitcoin.

See, we can follow any kind of strategy to sustain Bitcoin investment in the long term, we can form an emergency fund along with Bitcoin investment. In this, Bitcoin investment will be more long-term, and the amount of money we use in Bitcoin investment should not be more than our needs.
We should invest as much money as we intend to invest in Bitcoin, so every person should maintain Bitcoin continuity for Bitcoin investment.
If every person is able to invest in Bitcoin by following such a strategy, then it will definitely be easy to sustain his Bitcoin investment for a long time. Therefore, Bitcoin investment should be done in this way, then every person's strategy will be able to successfully survive for a long time.

What if Bitcoin quantum safe is implemented and the signature cryptography is change? You know there has been a challenge regarding how quantum is going to be able to steal Bitcoin from wallet that has public keys exposed. What do you think is going to happen by then? There is possible change before that time and if eventually happen, there is definitely going to be some changes about Bitcoin, even the address change is very possible if things go as debated.

As for the price, it's going to be mix changes. Expect the price to do well if people influence and expect it to under perform if people create fear. The problem about this one is that people might not see it coming. I don't think anyone every saw Bitcoin that it was going to enter $128k and it did. The same way it did this one, it will do more in he upcoming bull runs.

I fully agree with your comment and people that do not understand the benefit of holding Bitcoin should ask questions so that they don't have to be making the mistakes everytime thinking it's unnecessary for them to buy now and hold before the price of Bitcoin will continue to depreciate.
If the price of Bitcoin falls, that should not be a problem to us because buying  consistently will actually help investors to have enough Bitcoin so when the price goes up, people are going to be profitable when they are ready to sell.

Your "wapwapwendy" account is a newbie but you are certainly not new to the forum. Having said that, you are probably an account farmer and wanted to build up the account. The recent activity on the account after you started posting has been noticed and also the fact the account was registered in 2019.

As for the question, I believe Bitcoin will probably become worthless as it will be replaced by a superior crypto that will be used by the masses.

Buying of Bitcoin should be a consistent something using the DCA strategy especially for those who do not understand much about it rather than buying the dip or lump summing, it makes worrying about market fluctuations less as it will reduce the impact of volatility. Yes asking questions can definitely help them understand how Bitcoin works more so they don't keep making mistakes all the time. The major reason why some people think it's not necessary to buy and hold Bitcoin is probably because they expect it to depreciate all the time or they probably are more focused on making profits instead of having long term mindset.

Holding Bitcoin keeps you ready for whatever opportunity the market brings. Just keep accumulating and be patient you don't know when the next big opportunity will come, at least you'll be prepared for it.

The price of Bitcoin falling does not matter if you are looking at the price in 10 years time because by then you would not even notice that the price even fell because you will not be able to notice anything due to the big numbers of profits that you have already made. When buying Bitcoin, do not put in mind that you will sell in few months but keep in mind that when you are selling, the price of bitcoin will be much higher.

10 years can give you many profits that you will not know how to spend the money. The price of Bitcoin can fall this moment but that should not be your concern for worry if you already bought. Many people think that they are losing money but they do not know that, Bitcoin does not lose its value but can fall in fiats price when you look for dollars value. In 10 years time, you will still be having that quality of Bitcoin if  you do not sell.

In 10 years alone? I doubt it. But in the distant future, anything's possible. Bitcoin is already an open source project. I'm sure it will adapt itself to the latest trends in the FinTech space. Bitcoin's successor would be far more than just a cryptocurrency. Not a crypto itself, but something completely new.

Given that BTC is still in its infancy, it's going to take a long time (if any) before Bitcoin is replaced. I think there's no need to worry about this until the very last Bitcoin is mined. Neither you or I will be alive by the time that happens. Like I've said before, 10 years is a lot in crypto/Blockchain land. If Bitcoin went this far, it can survive anything.

Well judging from the current trend it is easier to predict a positive outcome for bitcoin in the next decade because bitcoin has shown significant dominance amongst other cryptocurrencies in recent times and there is high chances it will do far more better than what it is doing currently since more and more persons/countries are getting to know and accept bitcoin as a means of exchange.

However, widespread adoption of bitcoin doesn’t change the fact that bitcoin still remains a digital asset and as such is still prone to fluctuations because of it’s volatile nature, in as much as we propose a great future for bitcoin we should also invest with caution, 10years is a long time and a lot can happen, a major event, news or war could change the current bitcoin trajectory in split seconds, it is better for investors to regulate their expectations about bitcoin so they don’t put themselves in a tight corner should incase bitcoin doesn’t go as predicted.

yeah, I think that’s a good point. Bitcoin can have a strong long-term outlook without being immune to major shocks. A lot will probably come down to how well the network and ecosystem adapt over the next decade.

You do not talk about long-term investment and you do not talk about short-term investment. As you said, if a person manages his investment in this way, then he may face losses. For example, suppose a person continues to buy regularly, buy weekly or monthly, and if he buys for 50 thousand dollars and if he buys for 70 thousand dollars, then now if the price of Bitcoin is 60 thousand dollars and if he sees that his investment is making a profit compared to the purchase of 50 thousand dollars, then if he sells the entire amount, then he must have faced losses.

Every person's goal should be long-term and the possibility of losing money in long-term investment is much less than in short-term investment. If a person is willing to invest in short-term, what he can do is, when the market is on the decline, he can buy a lot at once and when the market rises, he can sell.

Agree that buying BTC in small amounts regularly, especially during market fluctuations, this reduces the risk of investing the entire amount at once and if the price is low, you can get more BTC for the same amount.

However I don't think it's better to buy without wasting time, because no matter how much BTC is seen as a long term asset, its price fluctuates a lot.  So I think it's more important to keep your emergency expenses and necessary savings in order in addition to buying regularly. It's easy to do DCA if you have extra money, but it's not right to invest the money you need just assuming the future will be good.

Bitcoin has been around for quite a while now and has already gone through several cycles.

Some people see it mainly as digital gold, while others believe it could become much more than that.

I'm curious how people here see Bitcoin evolving over the next 10 years.

Will it remain mostly a store of value, or do you think we'll see new use cases develop over time?

What do you guys think?

Right now, it feels like Bitcoin has stagnated in terms of its technological advancement. It’s as regulated as it can be, and now, more than ever, those who don’t want to go through KYC on CEXs have to resort to tricks. Everyone views Bitcoin at the very least as a trading tool with the guarantee of eventually reaching an ATH, or at the most as a means of sending funds without intermediaries, a means of saving and investing. And I hope that in 10 years, Bitcoin will become freer, less regulated, and more technologically advanced. But right now, it feels like we’re in a period of stagnation, and that’s a problem. Bitcoin is still just as reliable today.
