If the casino put restrictions on users to pass kyc before they start deposit and gambling, they will go to the competitors, there are many of casino round that will gladly accept deposit and let them play and will not show any problem. Sometimes, the issues does not start immediately, it's when they notice unidentified users win big amount of money they become woke and start asking for ridiculous documents for verification before withdrawals.

I know how valuable privacy is to people but we need to admit to one thing, you can't gamble without a kyc verification in any of the popular and reportable casino. As far as the popular casino in this forum is concern, you need to make basic verification to be able to used them but if you don't want to be trapped with excuses of not wanting to pay out, do it before you even make deposit in the casino, they will frustrate the living out of you if you hit a jackpot.

How many casinos that ask for KYC have you used in the past? As far as I know, as long as they ask for KYC, you can be allowed to pass verification long before you start gambling. Some don’t make it mandatory, while others do, but again, there are levels to this KYC verification, which is where most gamblers face the issue. They might have passed verification, but they will still be asked to submit advanced documents. The verification being asked is not the problem; it's them not accepting it after it is submitted, which is where the issue comes from.

There are several casinos that appears to actually be non KYC, just because they don’t request for it upon registration, many people assume they’re no. KYC, not until situations like this occur, then they only get to realize that they can actually request for it. There are casino like that ,they don't require kyc at the start but some of the casino do specify that kyc maybe require at any time when necessary. So, I don't think it is actually the fault of casino. There are some gamblers that may want to outsmart a casino by using a fake or false details to create an account with a casino. This isn't the first time this has been discussed and the suggestion has been made, but it's not that simple. Especially from this community around, many people value their privacy and do in fact prefer casinos without KYC, but to a degree it is like shooting yourself in the foot because they can trigger it anyway and do so very frequently, mostly when big money has been won.

I personally think the casinos with good reputation in the forum, those who made a name for themselves for being very KYC-"friendly", are usually reliable in how they handle the KYC issue.

The problem with new casinos is that most crypto people, me included, would almost never hand over their full KYC data upfront, let alone ever, perhaps never use them in the first place. It's probably mostly about those being in the middle of not established at all and very well established. The very well established casinos are usually predictable in their behavior although we have seen otherwise here as well. Unless it is a big and well known casino, handing over your KYC data to an unknown company is the most stupid thing you can do. Just don't use the casino then. I agree with you, fairest model for casinos should be
1- Basic KYC completion should be made mandatory at time of account opening.
2- Or player will clearly know whether any additional document will be required in future.

But I don't like "you won big, now prove everything again" type surprise verification at all.

And as player, we should do our part.
Before making your deposit you should check casino's license, KYC policy, withdrawal term and reputation. Because it is much easier to make any decision by reading casino's term before your money enters. There is no point in arguing after your withdrawal is blocked.

Why?
The question should be why gamblers are not reading the casino they are using TOS before fully using it as their gambling platform, because no gamblers truly win on any gambling platform, even after passing the KYC, while going against the gambling platform.
It only gives shady gambling platforms the chance to confiscate their winning, and if it's the TOS of the casino to ask for KYC after huge wins, why not do the KYC or leave the casino?

I'm a little bit confused because casinos are not in position to stop people from passing their KYC verification. Provided you are not found guilty of breaking the casino's rules and regulations you will successfully pass your KYC verification and withdraw your winnings.
As for your question, for some casinos no KYC means no verification during registration, but they can ask for verification under certain conditions.

I don't think there are any people here who like KYC verification, but yes, in some cases we don't like it, but there's nothing we can do about it because of the acts of AML.

And I also think here we cannot put the entire blame on the casinos because their terms and conditions state in advance that if necessary they can ask the player to submit KYC verification.
So since they are giving this declaration in advance, I think if we have more problems with KYC verification, then we should play in non-KYC casinos from the beginning.

But I think you got them wrong, they don't want to restrict users from withdrawal. It's a part of the process that when someone wins significant amount of money, they are required to do it.

Many casino platforms do this, when they win a lot of money, their account or withdrawal is blocked. And then the whole KYC system is started, if that person fails to provide KYC, then the casino platform suffers the entire money.
There is no KYC or hassle when depositing money, but all the problems arise when withdrawing money.

However, all these problems are more common on unreliable gambling platforms, so in this current situation, it is much better to deposit on a trusted and good platform to avoid any problems.

Without the casinos carrying out this verification, they can be accused of allowing their casino to be used for those offenses and they will be taken to court to prove that the withdrawal was won legitimately and not cover up for money laundry and also to be able to proved the identity of the gambler that made use of this casino to make this withdrawal that is why the verification is needed. Although this is not good for privacy but they need to obey the laws and run their business in order or they get shut down and no one will want to shut down a casino that is making them profits hence KYC verification should be done before even gambling on any casinos that the option is available.
