Nigerians are still benefiting that most armed criminals do not know much about cryptocurrencies now like how it has been in France and some other countries in Europe but it is only a matter of time because this can become common later in the future that some people will be kidnapped and ransom will be demanded in bitcoin or in altcoins.

When discussing with people around me, I just play along like I do not really know about cryptocurrencies.

Yes, I find out that this thing you just noted about many adding BTC to their name or nicknames is very common now in this country, and people really need to be careful of what they do. Most of this guys using BTC either as initial to their names are not genuine BTC investors, this people get their BTC in a more fraudulent manner and they are still proud to openly come out and call themselves BTC investors or whatever. And this act is causing serious problems to the genuine investors and as a result most of the genuine investors now tends to hide their identity because right now if Nigeria Police stops any one on the road and finds out anything crypto related around you then they’re already assuming you’re one of those fraudulent BTC guys who flaunt BTC as name or nicknames.

Undoubtedly, that right because a lot of this boys adding BTC to their names and nicknames are mostly those that are involved in receiving bitcoin through fraudulent activity. Most of this teenage boys are mostly those that do this behavior and they feel so much comfortable in doing this without thinking to be security conscious of how they can be picked as target by some goons for the fact that they added btc to their names. Almost everyone knowns the value of bitcoin so people can get themselves dirty just to get a hold of bitcoin.
 Most of this boys are not fully invested into bitcoin they just received bitcoin while those that are investing in it understand this risks which his why they had to stay hidden to avoid any risk coming to them. Let not take our security and life for granted, we have just one life and when wasted no returning.

The only problem is see here is our level of reasoning. Some persons reason differently and it's a problem. What Mr A might see as potential hazard if he does it, Mr B will see it as a big flex and begin to flaunt it with so much pride all day long. While we point out that answering such names and living some kind of life that shows up about your holdings or assets are not safe for you, some other persons feel it's a big boy life and it's best to attract the opposite sex or show how big they are. Well, it's individualistic. For me, I prefer a low key live, even if I had all the BTC kept. Some others may prefer to showcase, and thats to there own risk and detriment.

If you show yourself to be a rich person, people will believe you are and whatever comes with that will definitely come your way. I don’t really know why people prioritize show off than their life, I have always felt that security starts before you even think about your wallet or passwords. If everybody around you already knows that you have a lot of bitcoin, even though you have the best hardware wallet in the world will not protect you from people that want attack you physically and do what they want to you.

The one that shocked me most was someone snapping his wallet and sent it as streak on Snapchat showing us that he owns bitcoin of around $20,000. You don’t have to be scared or hide completely from the society, just be careful with the way you share or tell people about your investments or savings. For me, I think financial life should just be private and stay away from attention that does not add anything to your account or useless.

I was wondering, why live the life high meanwhile You're in possession of crypto? Not just crypto but huge amount of crypto. Don't forget, we lived in a cruel world where everyone is looking out for their neck and they will do anything within their power to ensure they grab stability of finances. I've seen brother betray brother because of money and when it involves the market, we know exactly how the market works and how it's been unable to pin down.

You know, I really do not see any reason why people would go as far as publicizing their Bitcoin holdings, I mean what’s the privacy in that? Except of course for some Bitcoin whales or major investors, who have premium securities, which may not even be a good reason or an excuse to publicize your holdings, because we have see on different occasions how big Bitcoin investors have been attacked, both online and offline. If the criminals eventually comes to think of using BTC as a ramsome option then  it will be a good advantage to them but ist it not everyone that will be able to afford it due to it nature, but if they succed to get paid through this means then they will now legacy it as means payment which may lead to the government barning it to reduce the crime rate in the society.

Those who are really aware of Bitcoin security will never share how many sats they have in their wallet, how many years they have been holding Bitcoin. Personally, I never tell anyone that I know about Bitcoin. I have already heard of many such incidents where influential or wealthy people are being threatened, there have also been incidents like kidnapping. You should come to X and see different version of usernames, you will be overwhelmed how usernames that crypto influencers add to their names and you know what baffles me more about them, they don't have anything. They are mostly airdrop people looking for new projects they can extract and once the project is done listing on the exchange, they sent to the exchange and sell and move to the new project with the same pattern, max extractions with no meaningful contributions.

One crypto influencer was crying some days ago, he was robbed and they went away with his valuable and forcedly take away his Ethereum, the coins were trace to a swap protocol where the money was laundered and couldn't do nothing. He is used to showing off the things he achieved from crypto only for jealous people to come and rob him at home and take everything from him. There is nothing like privacy trust me.
