Along with the security of your assts, you need to consider your own security. If you do not take proper security of yours assts, your assets will be stolen and if you do not take your own security, your life will be threatened. A person must give equal importance to both. In some cases, there are names on social media who are very enthusiastic about crypto or use the name of a particular crypto. Some may even claim to be large holders. This is a threat to their own assets as well as to themselves. A person who is using crypto or Bitcoin must stop telling others about himself, otherwise he can be attacked at any time. It is not difficult to find out the identity of a person from social media, fraudsters must know these things. So, you have to take care of your own security yourself.

I don't know if I will say that's traders that love to show off their bitcoin but I wouldn't be surprised if a new investor is showing off just to be proud of himself. One thing with riches is that you keep it secret if not, you will be attacked because you don't know who is your enemy. I find it difficult to tell people I'm a bitcoin investor.
Everyone is not the same, some persons do not understand that anything that has to do with Bitcoin investment has to be secret, there are things that most of us that are opportune be here has learned overtime, we know of privavy which which Bitcoin represents, some investors out there may not have good knowledge all that, some see their Bitcoin hodling as something to brag with, not knowing that they indirectly putting themselves in danger. An investors Bitcoin hodlings should be confidential, exposing it, knowingly or ignorantly may have severe and regrettable consequences. You aren't far from the truth. Is not everyone that understood it should be something confidential, because their are some of them close to me that normally show off. Maybe bitter experience will make them understand that what they're doing is actually not the best way to deal with Bitcoin. To keep our holdings private is actually the best way to live long especially in this our current world that criminals aren't smiling.

Folks often resort to violence due to money issues because they aren't reasonable, and along the line either someone gets severely injured or dies. At the end of the day life goes on. While in this space it's different but also similar ,people often endanger themselves because they're not wise especially newbies who get excited at the beginning of their journey. Like for example, tell me why someone would choose for people to call him something like BTC Boy, or something that adds BTC to their name or even FX/ Forex trader? Does it even make any sense. whether he or she isn't an investor or is an investor / trader I see no reason for such. Is it a symbol of respect ?, or are you placing yourself as a target for physical attacks ? Even if you are just playing there are some things you don't play with because any one can take it seriously that includes bad people.
I don't know how people become so comfortable that they like to show off their wealth for people to respect them or see them as one of the big boys in town but those kind of lifestyle doesn't entice me because we live in a world where privacy is very necessary for anyone who values their life and also the security of their assets. The mentality of people in Nigeria who are not into cryptocurrency is that those people that are dealing in bitcoin are rich so calling yourself crypto boy or BTC boy is just a way to tell people with bad motives to locate you and rob you or harm you. What is the essence of trying to create an awareness that you are a crypto enthusiast when information like that can lead you to problem. Even if you're not targeted by criminals, the security operatives can investigate you to know if you're actually into cryptocurrency or you are using it to cover up illegal business dealings. I don't blame those who boast about themselves owning a large amount of cryptos because some of them are unaware of the dangers of doing so.

Glad that you mentioned newbies, because they are the ones that normally behave like this. Why is it that people who are not even benefiting much always show off more than rich people? Because I don't think any responsible investor who knows what Bitcoin investment is would expose himself in public.
Without being told, we're meant to keep our investments very secure, because there are many people who are not happy with you. So let's help ourselves, do the needful things, and stay safe with our investments.

Staying anonymous is better than trying to show wealth online where there can be people that will be looking for how to take advantage by any means possible. Every crypto holders need to protect themselves from showing off their crypto balance so that the police or law enforcement will not be asking various questions about how the money was gotten. People that are business minded have their ways of showing off maybe through their cars, mansion or luxury instead of showing money or Bitcoin balance online.

The risk exposure may not be just about you but extending to your family members as they can be kidnapped for ransom since you have exposed your financial status so you will capable of affording a ransom for a kidnapped loved one.
Being secretive is a lifestyle hack that a lot of people in this generation are deficient of, they want to always show off and feel relevant. While you hustle secretively why not let your success remain private with just you alone and enjoy your life and freedom.
A lot of people just wants to be seen as the cryptocurrency big shot in their neighborhood, they want to be known to be the most progressive and as such, they flaunt themselves about in the faces of everyone, just to leave that impression, wants to know too much and so they say too much. These little irrelevances could have a significant effect on you as an individual or even the family. You might be way too conscious about your movements and where about but, could you say the same for the rest of your family members? With the vague idea most persons have about cryptocurrency or Bitcoin, it’s very ideal to keep things in this space private and be more reserved.

Our people just like to flaunt wealth even the ones that don’t have anything, they just want to impress or show off to their fellows who don’t also have.. just a foolish circle of friends where everyone is trying to intimidate the next person. As for me I’ve reached a stage in my life where there’s nothing you will do that can faze me or try to intimidate me by flaunting wealth, I just consider some of these guys as unwise. Adding crypto related words to one’s name or nickname doesn’t make you richer, only makes you look childish and puts a target on your back both physically and electronically.

One of the worst things to do is to flaunt wealth in an environment where 80-90% of people are poor, you’ll be putting yourself at high risk of being a target. Poor people are very desperate to change their situation, they're the most opportunists and the lazy ones don't stealing from others to survive. So flaunting wealth in such kind of environment is like making yourself a mark for thieves. Living a private life as a Bitcoiner is the best option so you don't risk loosing wealth you're trying to build to lazy people that might want to steal it.

The truth is; some people like flaunting what they have, some want visibility, some want to be the most popular among their peers without knowing what the later effects could be. If per adventure out of your own carelessness you endanger your holdings, the moment where your life is at stake, you may either give up your assets or your life. And believe me if anything should happen to you your fellow holders will accept you as a worthy sacrifice. Because you have indirectly profited the masses and loosing your own self.
I can tell you for a fact that this people that attach BTC, FX, Dollars, crypto etc are very normal. Just like our faces are different, so is what we want. It is hard to take away proud from someone it’ll require changing them completely. And in this market we have soo many different people. So i can promise you that you’ll keep seeing it.
Like you mentioned; this is Mostly seen within the newbies. They will probably get to that point where they’ll understand that as decentralized as it is, it doesn’t need publicity i.e if they strive to get there.
If you even do a proper analysis you may realize that these set of people that have those attached to their names have just little to nothing of it. Some just have an idea.

Most of the people we heard they got scammed are people who are always ponpus or people who like to show off what they have just to oppress some people who can not afford it and later those people who can not afford it are the people that will gang up to make sure they deal with this person. So, anyone who is into Crypto or Bitcoin investment should learn to keep things on the low because if they can not do this, then I am sorry there are people out there who will gladly humble them.

Everyone want to feel in the same front sage as their mates and that is why you will see an average person who is supposed to hide their self and save the little he has, go and start to be bringing unwanted attention to their self. Not too long I visited my friend in his place. I stayed for some couple of days there. And when I was there I needed to cut my hair so he told me the place to go for the barbing.
When I got there the signage of the barber had BTC at the back of it. I later discovered from my friend that the dude has no clue about bitcoin or even crypto as a whole. That he just put it there to attract the big boys to his saloon. At times I don't even know how some person reason because what that barber did is just as dumb as fuck. If any bad thing happens to him because of that now, everyone will go and blame the devil.
People are kidnapped for things lesser than this. Kidnapper can even thing that he has money and kidnap him for big ransom. Even if you are odogwu bitcoin, you don't need to prove anything to anyone, the world especially. You don't have to be announcing it because that can make you a target to those bad guys. Just remain humble because even this world that we all are obsessed about and are trying to impress, dosen't even give a fuck if we live or you die. That right there is the truth

At first, if Bitcoin is in your custody, the thing is this, you depend on it to appreciate in value so you could make good profit, also, using it as a measurement of value etc. However Bitcoin also depends on you to keep it active, and believe me, even if you are no more, it keeps doing much better and even better when only you have access to it alone as it would help reduce the circulating supply which would further increase the price value overtime. Aside that, when it comes to safety and security, many people are ignorant in this aspect, not everyone is safety conscious, some people are just not careful with their activities and how they show off which is why you see most of them constantly being attacked. Looking at how sensitive Bitcoin could be in the eyes of the public, how can someone add BTC to their nick and wants to be addressed in such manners when in reality they have nothing not even a fraction of it in their possession and they expect criminals to keep eyes off them. It is time people take their own safety serious than putting themselves I problems they can not be able to solve when the heat dawns on them.

The less people know , the safer you’re going to be.. Environment matters too.. if you want to at least give yourself such name , then do it in a sane environment where nobody can easily just get access to you and you must also be willing to invest on that separately. Some actually do it to promote their business.. you ever wonder why those popular forex guys like Ahmed, Habby and other Celebs live? No one can easily have access to them or their houses, some do have body guards too .. Yet there’re lots folks out there mimicking same habit for no good reasons

In your investment journey, it is necessary for someone to remain cool, and calm as he continues with his investment, the safety of your investment is actually in your in your hand because when you begin to tell people how much you have invested in Bitcoin, it is a way of endangering yourself, and your asset. Several times on the news we have seen people bullied or even killed because they refused to keep quiet about there investment, and thereby exposing themselves to more danger. If you must talk about your investment, it should be to your closet, someone with very high intimacy with you, and not just a road side friend because even many have been betrayed by friends. Many people like to boast about their investment. However there might be people with bigger portfolio that remains very silent, but your boast or the inability to conserve yourself is what can lead you into troubles.

Very serious point. Self exaltation causes the self and asset endangering. It's indeed a very bad idea to publicly announce what is meant to be secret, securing the wallet and not securing your self makes no sense at all. Most of the wicked people who will hear those titles will respond with hate and jealousy not even knowing that some people are just parading themselves and some of those who actually has Bitcoin are small holders. There's no need risking ones life mostly in this insecure Nigeria.

People fail to see what security is really all about, and when the word decentralisation is used, they think it to only be recognised in the crypto space, forgetting that whoever is in the crypto space can be a target, as it is becoming a more valuable asset on daily basis. That being said, securing your Bitcoin and crypto assets in the most top notch software/hardware doesn't mean when you go around flaunting and exposing your crypto identity to the public makes your investment/holdings safe. When a threat of life comes in, you will be forced to give out the pass codes and everything required for your life.
One thing I love about Bitcoin investment, it doesn't speak out for itself, it is the investor that lets the public knows what he/she is doing.
