I am not sure if they are still working like that but i can't see any reason why wouldn't they.
In my country, many of those who sell courses, trading signals, or VIP groups for trading signals end up in prison on allegations of cheating their members. They sell signals and take the money, but most of their members end up losing a huge amount of money. the funny thing is, even here already have several case like this, a lot of people still very easy to become a victim because of "high profit" offers. the victim is not because they are stupid, most of them a rich person with a lot of money joined the signal with entry can be more than $1K for their VIP offers. Truth is most people who sell signals and do all those influencing on social media are not really in-depth technical experts, they are just people who have learnt the game on surface and use the signals and other influencing tactics to win more people. It’s a thing of leverage where you use the knowledge you have, despite not being so deep in it to win more people by your side especially with the popularity you might have gotten already or based on your content creation skills. These people are not necessarily as knowledgeable as you think or as compared to the highly technical and career traders who sit in front of their PCs day in day out to follow trades. In following people like these influencers, it’s important for you to also be smart enough not to get into trouble by buying signals and investing in them when you are completely ignorant of the expected outcome of the trade.

The problem is when the product itself has no credibility behind it.
If the content lacks credibility or doesn't seem right. It is simple: just skip it. No need to watch videos that don't meet your expectations. Different creators offer content with varying styles of language and delivery. Some provide only superficial information, while others offer truly substantial, high-quality insights that make keeping up with their updates well worth the time. The real issue arises with creators who subtly scam their audience. Such as by promoting specific tokens because they are affiliates or part of a community, only to abandon the project once they’ve made a profit. Ultimately, it is up to us, the audience, to evaluate the content and decide whether or not to watch. "Why are you selling signals if you're a good trader?"
It's about business. And more importantly, what would you consider enough evidence that a signal provider can actually trade?
Check on the track records and how they deliver the contents. But, NOTE! Never trust 100% on the signal. They won't always work 100%. Furthermore, signals won't be effective if you don't have a sufficient understanding of trading. So, essentially, keep learning about trading itself. Use signals only to supplement your own analysis. Though ideally, you should conduct your own analysis without relying on purchased trading signals.

they made the choice without being forced and they are also aware of the risks that is associated with trading. A lot of people that buy these signals are very desperate and this is what is used against them. They prefer to take the easy route instead of seeking proper information. If the money is taken from them that's different but they paid on their own free will.
Yes I say this they did not force anyone to follow the signal, so it is not a big crime so they should not have been put in jail at all. If they forced anyone to follow the signal and they faced losses then they should have been blamed, if I trade and do not follow the trading signal then no one can force me to do anything. But if I follow the signal as I want and fail then it is my fault not the person who gave the signal. So I think they were put in jail just to create pressure on them, so they should not have been put in jail at all they should have been released.

If sellers of signals have been put to jail, that's because they are dishonest to their customers. They've marketed the signals that they're selling and probably said of guarantee profits after availing them. We're not forced to buy them, that's true and that's why we shouldn't buy into any of them even if they say that they've made millions through it. Because if they did made a lot of money from it, then congratulations to them but I am not paying them.

Selling signal with empty promise and even causing serious losses to people who trusted them, isn't much different from merchant selling some low-quality, fake product while advertising it as top notch stuff. We shouldn't rush to conclude whether they deserve to be imprisoned, as that depends on many factors such as the extent of the damage, the laws of that country..But with actions showing signs of fraud, intentional deception, and making false promises to profit. They certainly need to be held accountable and face the law.

Yes I say this they did not force anyone to follow the signal, so it is not a big crime so they should not have been put in jail at all. I had to go through the OP and message you were replying to as I didn't see any mention of signal provider going to jail for selling signals , but I will take it this was used as a figure of speech. Btw , considering this is prop firm trading we talking about..signals can actually get your payout denied should you reach far, because if more than 2 accounts take such signals both will be flagged and you risk losing your account & profits. So if its signals you want better to use an EA(expert advisor). If they forced anyone to follow the signal and they faced losses then they should have been blamed, if I trade and do not follow the trading signal then no one can force me to do anything. But if I follow the signal as I want and fail then it is my fault not the person who gave the signal. Where is the mention of jail coming from for this signal provider, and the fact that they aren't financial advisors and have all these disclaimers , jail not possible.

A professional trader may have limited capital and so he can use other ways to making money based on his knowledge which is make senses. The main question is whether they are real trader or just selling fake signals to earn money! A signal provider should have clear portfolio and tracking record instead of showing just successful trades. Some people pretend to become a professional trader where their main aim is to earn money from reference commission along with selling expensive courses. People should be careful from those fraud but if anyone can show their consistent profit over long time and expain strategy honestly then maybe we can learn from them

for me, i never joined any paid membership for signal or any of similar "vip" clubs. because i know every signal's never guarantee a profit, sometimes it will be losses because of market can change at any times. the funny things is, even a lot of case paid membership like this end up with fraud, newbies will come to believe if there any ways to trade for instant profits just like joined paid membership offer for signal or moonshot (for meme/degen). My motto is very simple: “No one who wants to help someone, would ask for payment first or later.” So if they say they will help new traders to make a profit by joining a paid membership, it means they don’t actually want to help, but they just want to make money from their prospective members.

And that's what the customers are believing that's going to get them a lot of money just after the purchase. It's a lie and many have lost money already in it, but they know that there are people who will still purchase it and so they never stop. There's a deception in the marketing because they use screenshots of huge profits that probably have been made by someone else.

Those who sell trading signals collect enough fake screenshots and collect small video clips and those who buy signals from someone after watching them are the biggest fools. Because why would someone who understands trading so well and can make such big profits share that secret with others. He can earn a lot of money by trading. Now although the business of selling signals has decreased a lot, it was a very booming business till 2028-2024. And during this time, fraudulent groups have cheated a lot of money by selling trading signals. But now people have become very aware due to which this kind of business is not available to everyone.

You hit it 100%. That is so true and the victims haven't thought of that. Because if that's me, and I am making so much money, why would I care for the others and spend my time with asking them to pay my signals?Double source? no. For someone who's making a lot of money, they will value their time more than any others and they don't want to get bothered while making money themselves. I wish that these signals will eventually gone and everyone start to learn how to trade for real.

People buying the signals are the people which I blame, how will you depend on other people before you can trade? Also all those people selling signals are always making serious advertisements on social media, I believe someone that really understands trading, and is making money from trading won’t be online begging people to come buy trading signal. I know some guys that really make money from trading, you not even going to see them in public, not to talk of seeing them online begging people to

It's obvious that those who sell trading signals, strategies, and other ready-made solutions for making money through trading do so primarily because they've failed at trading and, by posing as trading gurus on social media, try to make money by selling their services to more naive users. To be honest, I also don't see any reason why a trader who is truly successful would suddenly decide to get involved in such things.

People buying the signals are the people which I blame, how will you depend on other people before you can trade? Both are at fault, but I also blame the people buying those signals more than the seller. If they werent greedy, lazy and stuck on this get rich quick mindset of just leaning on someone else, those signal sellers wouldn't even be able to survive, and people wouldn't fall into that dumb trap so easy. No demand, no supply, right? At the end of the day, sellers are taking advantage of buyers' greed, while the buyers are willingly turning themselves into prey because they want the profit without putting in the work to learn.

Do you see selling signals, creating trading content, or teaching as a legitimate way for a good trader to scale beyond their own capital?
And more importantly, what would you consider enough evidence that a signal provider can actually trade?
Selling signals is a way of monetising your trading skill or ability and it's legitimate, the problem is how accurate the signals turn out to be. I'm not saying it has to be 10/10 but at least the win ratio should be greater than your losses, that way you will be able to make profit from the signals you've bought and not paying for signals and at the end of the day still accumulate losses. Many traders that sell signals do it to raise capital for themselves to trade which isn't bad while some fake it just to draw the attention of unsuspecting aspirants who would like to live a good and comfortable life. That's what this traders capitalise on and even go out of their way to make sure you see them in such light.
