Some are trading to be profitable by selling signals even though they are not using the same signal they are selling to others for themselves. If you think you don't know much about trading, it is more advisable that you learn and take your time to understand some of the strategies and trading patterns to be profitable than to depend on third parties' signals that will end up failing you on trades.

That is just the point, it is better you learn how to trade and get more experience and get some strategy to be using in your trading, and you will be much better than someone that always waits for a signal to drop before he can risk. Trading is unpredictable and signals are not all guaranteed, they are selling it to get more money to use and double their funds to trade. A good trader doesn't have such time to be generating signals for lower traders, they can just lecture you in their group on how to trade and use their strategy, but giving signals frequently, I don't think it is real, it is just getting money from selling, but not really from trading.

It is quite funny that a lot of people still think everyone that sells trading signals are actually professional traders but that's far From accurate because most of them are just doing it to make money off gullible people. I don't think that anyone that makes a lot of money from trading would not really have the time to sell signals. Most of these so called traders don't know what they are doing and beginners are blindly following them.

That seems more precise, yet the outcome is the same: anyone capable of trading successfully can simply borrow capital to fund their activities, rather than resorting to selling fake signals.
A lot of these traders that sell signals don't trade and that's something that's supposed to make it questionable but the problem with a lot of people is that they are too desperate to make money and this makes them unable to spot all these on time. if money is what they lack they can borrow to fund their trading account if what their signals are accurate.

Quote
I therefore agree with you, a trader's track record is what matters most. I do not believe that anyone with genuine skill would even consider selling their signals; they would inevitably find more innovative ways to operate.
I don't think a trader that's busy making money would have the time to sell signals besides humans don't really like to show people how they make money, they prefer to gatekeep. people coming online to sell signals already proves that they don't really make money from trading.

This is probably one of the most common questions asked about traders who also sell signals, create content, or teach.

And honestly, I think it's the wrong question.

Trading income is directly related to the amount of capital you trade with.

A trader can have a genuine edge and still not have enough capital to generate meaningful income from trading alone.

So naturally, traders look for ways to scale their edge beyond their own account.

Some create educational content.
Some build an audience on YouTube.
Some offer signals.
Some trade through prop firms.
Some manage other people's capital.

None of these things are inherently bad.

In fact, for many traders, they're simply different ways of scaling their edge beyond their own capital.

Prop firms can provide access to more capital, but they also come with fees, rules, restrictions and their own risks.

Education and content can be useful if the person actually has something valuable to teach.

And selling signals can be perfectly legitimate too.

The problem isn't how a trader chooses to monetize their skills.

The problem is when the product itself has no credibility behind it.

  • Low-quality educational content.
  • Fake or deleted signals.
  • Only showing winning trades.
  • Screenshots from trades that happened weeks or months ago.
  • No verifiable track record.

If someone is selling signals, I don't really care that they're selling signals.

I want to know:

Can they actually trade?

To me, that's where the conversation should be.

Not:

"Why are you selling signals if you're a good trader?"

But:

"If you're a good trader, can you prove it?"

That's a much more interesting question.

What do you think?

Do you see selling signals, creating trading content, or teaching as a legitimate way for a good trader to scale beyond their own capital?

And more importantly, what would you consider enough evidence that a signal provider can actually trade?

I used to believe strongly in the "those who can't do, teach" philosophy, I still do. Actually I think while selling signals can be a way of scaling the traders edge, Manny traders who you see on the Internet selling courses and paid premium channels don't actually make their money through trading. They're more of influencers and marketers than traders.

Those gullible traders who go into crypto trading without any form of knowledge on their own will definitely go out for signals and get scammed from that, most of them don't even care to do little analysis of those trade signals before their go out with it, and the questions is between those selling crypto trading signals, and those giving out free signals, which one is less risky to abide with, but I think is not hard to choose between the two is it?

I would not be willing to choose between these two people. Because a person who is truly a successful trader would never give signals for a small amount of money. Because by giving signals, a person can be exposed to many types of risks. For example, if everyone is harmed because of his signal, then everyone will start blaming that person and may ask for this compensation from that person. A successful trader may never be willing to take such a decision for a small amount of money.

Those people who give signals or sell signals who have no knowledge related to trading and have not learned anything about trading. Such people deceive everyone in the name of giving signals and take money from everyone. Try to stay away from such people as much as possible.

In this day and age, it's very easy to deceive people. We can show off our wealth on social media, and they won't know whether it's real wealth we own or just rented goods or borrowed money. This is because money is now used as a benchmark by people to determine whether they are truly experts, especially when it comes to trading.

The simple logic is that if someone is an expert in a trade that we know is very easy to make money, then they won't bother to make money from their members. And in fact, that makes it difficult for them to run their classes because they have to educate those who attend.

I think even if someone is truly an expert, if they are truly willing to educate, they won't ask for money to join their class.

A trader who sells signals and earn from what ever trading stunt they are pulling online is either a real trader or just a fake trader making money from doing marketing stunts.
Most of the traders that sell signals are fake traders, a few percent of them that are actually real do it because they probably need the money to continue funding their trading account. A lot of these crypto traders you see today selling signals aren't making money from trading, that's the reason why they use this as a means to support themselves, inky gullible people fall for all these.

Quote
The fake trader relies on having more subscribers on their channel to earn more money, while the real trader actually has strategies they abide by and actually survive from what they earn on the live market with real proof of work.
Real traders survive by what they earn just like you said, they are too busy making money which makes them have less time to sell signals. The moment I see a trader selling signals consistently o already know that they are a fraud.

First of all professional trader never sell their trades signal like always drope in financial abuse. So it's not about the amount who they take for signal it's about financial abuse. Simple is thatIt's prohibited......

I am trader and to be honest I never call someone to buy my signal or follow it because for me it just nothing except a crime (financial abuse). Even if someone ask for me about signal on educational purposes then still I try to stop them to follow me. Trading is just a financial deal and whenever you made any mess up then it's result will be pop up in lose. So that's why follow your own opinion...

Don't assume that a sell signal means that the person is a bad trader. As it can be a sell when they are selling. And it can be a buy when they are subscribed. What's really important is if their results can be verified independently. Winning trades without losing trades or without considering risk can only be a monologue. If losses are ignored and risk is not considered. Then it is a monologue of winning trades. It's also a bad idea to rely on free signals. As free does not mean reliable. As for anything I would look at the full history. Losing streaks fees and drawdowns. Ete before following someone. It's more important to understand the rationale behind a trade than simply copying a trade blindly.

nothing wrong if they are really selling the signal not just trying to get own profits, i know someone also selling his signal for VIP members, but he never claimed if he will always get profits on every trades, but he also not forces people to buy his services, only people he trust will get the slot. since he also warn people not just follow his signal but also checking the market by it fundamental or news, so he not just trying to sell signal. and the most important is, he never ask for high money to join his vip's. while other people mostly asked start from $100 or even more than $500. that can be a sign someone trying to scam his VIP member, or its only a trap. you are right about not all is bad trader, but mostly they are scammer.
