I would like to know which marketplaces accept payment using bitcoin to buy an Iphone? We have not found it and in my own area the use of fiat is preferred. People will probably be happy with this option especially the BTC = Iphone price comparison from time to time as in the second post. Apple itself does not integrate bitcoin payments? If that happens, everyone will be pissed.

Why does everyone talk about holding Bitcoin, but its main purpose was to transact as a digital currency. If someone buys their favorite IPhone with 5-10% of their previously saved Bitcoin, then I don't see any problem. At the end of the day, what is the point of saving wealth if it is not actually useful for fulfilling any of your needs or hobbies. Although buying an iPhone with Bitcoin at this price is beyond my means now, because my BTC portfolio is not much strong now.
If we are to see Bitcoin as money, then there should not be any limitation to what it should be used to acquire and where it can’t be spent. Taking the current market value aside, if someone has the money and their only fund is both spending and saving, and the reserve is on Bitcoin, I also don’t see anything wrong with spending part of it to pay for the thing you actually want so long as it doesn't require the person to empty their vault for the sake of flashing luxury.

Personally, I don't go for an Iphone because aside that its too expensive, it's not making me productive at all. But for those who have sufficient amount of bitcoin saved in their wallet, why not? If an Iphone can make yourself happy and satisfied, any amount of bitcoin will be nothing compared to the joy it brings inside you.
You don't just invest to make you rich in the future and secure your retirement funds, but you should also prioritize what makes you happy at the moment because that will also build bigger motivation to keep you moving forward and keep investing in bitcoin to enjoy your present and future life. Your bitcoin, your money, your rules.

I don't see any problem using Bitcoin as your payment mode to buy an iPhone. We do have some shops locally here that also accept crypto as payment.
Do you know a shop over there that accepts crypto payment and the owners are still alive? Have we all been set lose now? I have since been living in deep trepidation over the last few years from the case of an alleged attack on store owners for displaying banners that read " we accept Bitcoin payments here". This is the second time I'm making reference to that post, but I just can't find it anymore.
Back to the topic. I guess OP is just too obsessed with Apple phones that they had to make this post hours after the pre-order for the new iPhone 18 and pro was released. Edit: What is the plan, die before your Bitcoin is sold? The predicted scarcity of bitcoin in the nearest future, and the way big institutions are moving with this whole thing has brainwashed people into believing they should never sell theirs.

If there's a reason for me to buy an Iphone, I think I will just purchase it through fiat rather than spend my bitcoin because anytime it will grow its value in the market and lose my future profits. I am doing this because this is more practical on my part than spending my hard-earned bitcoin.
However, buying Iphone using bitcoin is a personal choice. People buy something no matter how expensive it is because they chose to invest on theirselves and their emotions first, even if they are losing a valuable amount of bitcoin. And there's no wrong with it, its just that people may have different priorities in life.

If the money is stored in bitcoin not fiat then I see nothing bad using bitcoin to purchase an iPhone, the only reason why bitcoin payment method is not popular yet is because many view bitcoin as a store of value only or people who are into gadgets trade don’t accept bitcoin as payment method. If the mindset of bitcoin as payment method is getting popular then a lot of people will definitely use bitcoin, the topic is not about iPhone expense or the problem is not having much bitcoin obviously why will anyone want to purchase iPhone with bitcoin when there’s no sufficient coin, if bitcoin is available purchasing an iPhone with bitcoin is not wrong.

What's your thought on someone that chooses to use their Bitcoin to buy an iPhone?
It could be good; it could also be a bad choice. The purpose of Bitcoin is to be used as currency, and anyone who uses their Bitcoin in the purchase of an iPhone is simply fulfilling the purpose Bitcoin was made for. The thing, however, is that if you are wanting to buy an iPhone with the bitcoin you have, make sure your decision is not made prematurely; that is, you are not sacrificing the investment you have to buy an iPhone because you cannot control your wants. It is alright to use your Bitcoin in the purchase of an iPhone when you can buy the iPhone comfortably without it affecting your investment.

I'd also add that there is network fees and that buying with bitcoin will cost you by 5-15% more always
Not really true Yes there's a network fee especially through on chain But it's not a fixed percentage It's based on transaction size data and congestion level $5000 can go for $5 and $1000 might even go for $20. ~snip~ Maybe this guy is using exchange when dealing with someone who has fixed fees and usually always offers high transaction fees, but I have never heard of any exchange right now that offers 5% to 15%, unlike before, where some exchanges asked for more than $50 withdraw fees per withdrawal. Or I think this guy experienced a few sellers here I saw before who are selling some gadgets here that offer plus 5% when paying BTC, even in the currency exchange section. Some people offer this with a few percent added to the exchange of fiat or goods. So he means the extra added percentage is for the seller's condition in exchange for its service/product/currencies, not the transaction fees itself.

The topic it's quite generic I know just curious after having a conversation that circled around this area. Supposed there's a marketplace where devices are sold (let's use this first) And they accept Bitcoin and Fiat. What's your thought on someone that chooses to use their Bitcoin to buy an iPhone?
Lol I used an iPhone because it's one of the most compared when it comes to Bitcoin and what people tend to buy. And I wanted to see perspective when luxury spending is on the line. I think it depends on the same things as with fiat- How much money you have in the first place. And of course how deep your history with apple is as well. Personally, I would avoid buying an I-Phone since it is too expensive and cannot justify the extra cost. I say this because most high end or even mid-range phones can do either the same or extremely close to the same. Some Bitcoiner's do not tend to be the type to flaunt their money so I would expect them to make reasonable purchases but I cannot speak for all coiners...

Let's say that I can afford to buy it but that's going to cost a lot on my holdings. As much as I would like to have one, this is what I remember for this type of purchase.
And this was why I used an IPhone as an example. Imo if we too fixated about the future benefit what about the now Or about using Bitcoin as a medium of exchange even if it might have it's own issues. You're right that is why we are holding today, there's no point if we're going to hold forever. Spending some is fine because that's part of the usage why bitcoin was created. I think in the minds of people like who's got a lot of obligations are thinking about the fixation and future benefit of holding. And that's okay but if you're able to afford that and it's only a small part of your btc holding, get that iphone. Let's say that I can afford to buy it but that's going to cost a lot on my holdings. As much as I would like to have one, this is what I remember for this type of purchase.
I think that I'll wait for a couple of years until I'll be able to afford that. On this type of economy, I'll have to save and put the needs first. But if you can afford it and that's going to make you happy, that's one of the reasons why we invest and that's to afford things and become happy with that purchase and by owning one of the latest releases.
The image does not apply if you replace the Bitcoin that you spend, it is a bit overused because many people just spent without replacing. Only if I'll replace what I spend or it's only a very small portion of total holdings. And I think why many are not able to replace what's spent is because of the price is getting more expensive.

Buying things like phones should ideally be rewarding, not something that feels like another liability or monthly bill, regardless of the payment method.. And for practical reasons, unless i have lots bitcoin holdings, i won't use to buy it at this very moment when bitcoin is currently starting to keep climbing and have higher chance to climb more.

To be honest, I'd be glad if somebody is buying an iPhone or whatever using Bitcoin. That'd be good for Bitcoin adoption. However, for me, I'd have to weigh the pros and cons. If it's significantly cheaper to get the phone with Bitcoin, I might use Bitcoin. But if it's otherwise, I'd use my fiat. If it's pretty much the same, I might pay it with Bitcoin and use my fiat to buy the exact amount of Bitcoin I spent for the phone to replenish my Bitcoin savings.
As regards deflation, I don't see it as a problem. On the contrary, it might even be beneficial overall. People would begin to buy out of necessity rather than out of pure consumerist behavior.

What's your thought on someone that chooses to use their Bitcoin to buy an iPhone?
It's actually his business if he wants to buy an iPhone with his Bitcoin, because it's his Bitcoin and he can do whatever he wants with it. But if it were me, I certainly wouldn't want to use Bitcoin just to buy an iPhone. Honestly, I'm not the FOMO type --- like every time an iPhone is released, I'll immediately buy it. That's just not my style. I simply choose to wait until the price makes sense to me. And use fiat entirely for that. I think it's ridiculous to spend an asset as valuable as Bitcoin just to buy a device like this when you can use fiat for it. The price of Bitcoin only goes up in the long term. If I spent an asset that could potentially become much more valuable in the future, just to purchase something that's not really a priority and loses value over time, how stupid would I be.

Nothing wrong with it, phone has become basic need and buying an iphone and the ecosystem surrounding it isn't luxury buying. An iphone isn't even that expensive and wouldn't empty your lifesavings, if you need one just go buy it and the bitcoin used to buy has served its purpose, maybe you got some good ROI from your investment, your $500 is now $1000 and you can buy better phones which frankly you're using bitcoin as intended. I would like to know which marketplaces accept payment using bitcoin to buy an Iphone? We have not found it and in my own area the use of fiat is preferred. There is nothing to think about here. I would also like to see people buying iPhones using Bitcoin as it will expand the use of Bitcoin. We all know that Bitcoin was created to make transactions without a third party. So if someone has the opportunity to buy an iPhone using Bitcoin, then he can buy it, it is a personal matter. In my country, there is no opportunity to buy an iPhone using Bitcoin in any marketplace because Bitcoin is illegal in my country. If there was an opportunity now, I cannot afford to buy an iPhone.

And what is to stop us from buying a laptop using Bitcoin? Isn't that the very purpose for which Bitcoin was created and the goal we are all striving to achieve? I mean, using Bitcoin for everyday payments?
But if you mean parting with your precious Bitcoin to buy luxury items, that is a different matter; if I had both cash and Bitcoin, I would certainly use the cash for purchases and hold onto the Bitcoin, But if you have to, I wouldn't mind using Bitcoin.

I actually have no problem with someone who chooses to use Bitcoin to buy an iPhone. First, it's their Bitcoin after all so they can use it whenever they want and whatever they want to use it for. If someone choose to use Bitcoin in purchasing an iPhone, it probably means that he have more Bitcoin other than the Bitcoin he'll use to buy the phone, so it means that he can afford lose that amount of btc. And it's actually nice when someone uses btc to purchase items right? We get to see or hear more people using it for purchases or transactions.
But if you'll ask me whether I'll use Bitcoin when buying an iPhone, I don't think I'll use Bitcoin just a personal preference. I'd still prefer to keep my btc as investment rather than using it on a luxurious item. Maybe unless, I am rich in Bitcoin enough not to care whether I lose a small amount of it lol

Lol I used an iPhone because it's one of the most compared when it comes to Bitcoin and what people tend to buy. And I wanted to see perspective when luxury spending is on the line. Personally, I would rather not use BTC to purchase an iPhone if I can help it. It's easy to understand why: BTC is ideal for long-term investing rather than purchasing a consumer good that loses value the moment you buy it. But BTC still has the potential to grow in the coming years. There are lots of stories about people wishing they hadn't spent their bitcoin back in the day (the most infamous of which is that pizza story). That's fine if it's just to play around / experiment with spending BTC — just make sure it's a small portion of your holdings, not a significant one. But if the amount you're considering is fairly substantial, I'd rather sell a small portion for fiat and let the rest sit and HODL. Bottom line: spend the sats you're willing to lose, hold the rest.

If i have fiat at hand and still have some bitcoin holding which are all equivalent to the worth of the iPhone, then the consideration now goes beyond merely substituting my bitcoin for an iPhone but rather it now involves me deciding wether i am willing to let go of my fiat while still holding unto my bitcoin or to let go of my bitcoin while still holding on to my fiat. Once you break it down this way, the answer becomes damn simple because exchanging fiat for an iPhone is far better than trading your bitcoin for an iPhone when you still have your fiat as a better alternative for carrying out that kind of transaction. fiat is less valuable to bitcoin and an iPhone so it is the easier option to be considered.

I'm not sure there should be an issue with that. Maybe we should just accept that iPhones are overrated. They are just like any other asset you can spend your money on, but people these days treat iPhones as a luxury, which I don't think they are.Buying an iPhone with Bitcoin shouldn't be a big discussion. Bitcoin is money, and money is meant to be spent on whatever we choose. As long as you own the keys, the Bitcoin is yours, and you can decide whether to keep it or spend it on something you want. Personally, I don't like iPhones. I prefer Samsung devices, and as I said, I think iPhones are overrated. Apple keeps releasing new series with very small differences between them, making the upgrades feel less significant. At this point, it seems like they are just flooding the market with new versions while falling behind in some areas.
