Good information. The Dangote IPO shares are open to everyone in the world. It is not for Nigerians alone to invest in it. Foreign investors are rushing into the stock on the Bamboo and Trove app the last time I checked.

Investors are allowed to fear if they invest in Dangote IPO stock. There is no investment without risk, so fear is allowed.
What's the minimum investment amount, I haven't logged in Bamboo app before though, because I never seems to purchase stocks before, what's the total amount in dollars they are looking to reach before investment closes,  I mean their target.

These apps you mentioned, are they also US and UK based app? If they can access it wherever they are, then they can join the IPO fundraising event.

This is another opportunity for those that are looking for were to invest their money without fear , although it's not a short term investment but long term. Minimum of 10 shares at #525 each which is #5,250 and it's about $4 . I will advise that you take this advantage. Should someone take this advantage to invest or not? Considering the fact that the dollar is still strong against naira it will return big although it depends on the activeness of shares in the market.
Okay I have heard you. Dangote wants people to invest and it is now they want us to start buying shares when the high status class have bought the dip, it is the poor and struggling workers they want them to buy the top. I don't think this is a good investment, maybe good later if the price appreciates. Investing in stock can be profitable when  you invest big not with that shallow money that don't have any worth even in the next 50 years. Inflation is the only reason that can make it look like a profit on investment.
This a very good opportunity to help every citizens to become a share holder as some See's it as a riskier way of puting there money into play to get returns after some times.
While we are taking decisions towards investing in shares we also have to consider that shatres also have it ups and downs peculiar to w
shares. Deflation can cause a lot after investment has been made which could lead to reduced interest, lack of trust for the organization that sold the shares. All of this should be put into consideration while but trying to buy and must be from a reputable organization.

All of a sudden Dangote wants people to invest and it is now that things are not going well in the country that they want people to invest? Is Dangote not part of the problem is Nigeria? The reason why I said Dangote is also part of the problem in the country is because he is a good businessman that the whole world knows, and his business alone can help the country, but what did he do? Despite him producing petroleum oil in the country there is no benefit from the country, the price of oil is still going high.

So what is the benefit of investing in his refinery? The country is getting worse and this is what he has to offer us, what about people that don’t have money, because i believe 50% of Nigerians are currently unemployed and they are suffering to put food on their table, although Dangote is not the main problem of the country because he is not a politician or the president of the country but he can do better, and the investment he is trying to bring now will not last for a long time.

You should try to ask people who have in the past invested in dangote before because this stock is like a slap to their face, if you doubt this I suggest you watch some video on YouTube.

This is not a bad investment but in a country where it's currency losses value over time, even if the value grows bigger in the future it might still not make sense, I'd rather use the money to buy dollar and keep.

It won't stop Nigerian government from stealing money to the offshore markets, it won't stop naira from getting worser, it's just my opinion and not a financial advice.

I think that there are potentials of being profitable if you buy Dangote, shares because as some people have noted it is the only functional refinery in Nigeria, which have a population of over 200 million people so we can project that the shares would yield reasonable profit in the future. But I cannot blame anybody especially foreigners who wouldn't be comfortable to invest in Nigeria, due to the insecurity in some parts of the country and the depreciation of naira but despite these facts I would still go on to buy Dangote shares because Nigeria, is a consuming nation with a lot of activities that requires the use of finished petroleum products.

I'm sorry to say this, take it as an opinion.

This shares from Dangote that's worth 5,000 naira is a scam.
It seems you people don't get it, this Dangote never cared about Nigerians, if you have been sleeping on what's happening it's just you.

Dangote had never helped the masses in any way, nothing comes for free with this business tycoon, it's why I don't have any respect for such people.

Let's talk about it, he only needs 1 million Nigeria's to invest.
5,000 naira in 1 million places is a Billion Naira.

You Nigerians are not thinking, if nothing good happens with these shares in the future you can easily look away because it's just 5,000 isn't it? But the share owner already cashed big money.

When are you people going to wake up?

Well for those people who might be interested in buying shares of a company, the Dangote Refinery might be a good shares to consider, being a very fresh IPO attracting very huge volume of investors, and interest within, and across the country, buying such share will enable investors to make good money especially for long term. Some of us who are really into Bitcoin investing, and have benefited from Bitcoin may not have much interest turning to another form of investment, but should in case you want to consider going into stock investing, Dangote Refinery shares is really a stock to invest in.
When you want to make any stock investing knowing the potential for growth is very important, although new IPOs carries very high volatility, but it is bound for growth in future, and considering how much investors are interested in the shares, it is an evidence for good potential, and growth in the long term.

Many people are jumping on this IPO because it is 'DANGOTE" which could be the dumbest decision anyone would make. There is so much more attached to an IPO that many do not make out the time to make research about. It's not a smooth investment as many will see it and investors could lose their money too as dividends are not guaranteed, stated - The Official IPO information.

I was seeing about the IPO since last week but I was too busy to even pay attention until I saw everything was finalized. Somehow, I was seeing Solana selling tokenized shares on their chain, I don't know where they are going to buy as well but everything that I observed yesterday, the sale was awful. Some of the third party medium disappointed alot of people until I check the shares percentage that was given to public and I couldn't close my mouth, it's just 3.3%. Grin

Quote
One major thing to look out for is the valuation risk of 4.1 billion shares selling at #525, tha'ts quite a huge amount, don't you think? Also, the IPO price will fluctuate as the market remains open, investors will always keep the market busy, those with the trading mentality will not get to place multiple applications to buy shares at a lower price.

I respect it for been the company as first of its kind with that kind of valuation but the shares are not that large compare to what other companies are doing. One thing I realized about this is the fact that they are selling it in naira. I know there are private group that are going to offer dollar buy but this will strengthen the Naira against other currencies that the government has been fighting for long. I will not be buying, I don't have much interest in IPOs.

All of a sudden dangote has people's best interest at heart? He hasn't thought about empowering people through this means before? One question people need to ask themselves is why dangote decided to do this four months to the election. It is nothing new that the Nigerian government borrows money from the likes of dangote or in most cases he just funds the politicians, I think that this is just a means to use this as a fund raiser for whatever he wants to use the Money.

People are not even inquisitive to ask questions about this to know if it is really legit or not, immediately they heard dangotes name they even borrowed to invest in it.

I know someone who bought shares from the Dangote refinery, and I'm not looking forward to buying some. Yes, I am Nigerian and do not believe in the process, and I'm also not convinced it could be worth much more in the future given how long we have to wait for it to rise to a reasonable figure.

I will think about it after the election, depending on the result and who wins, I cannot involve myself with the current government.

If this offer had come from any country other than Nigeria, I might have jumped at that opportunity.
However, I do not have confidence in any country like Nigeria.

Biggest issue with investing here is instability of Naira's value.
I checked online and found that back in 2015-16, you could get approximately 250 to 300 Naira for a dollar. Yet now, in 2026, it takes over 1300 Naira to get a single dollar. Consequently, even if share price rise in future, a depreciation in Naira's value would result in lower actual return for us. That is why I am skeptical about whether this investment would yield any substantial profit. Of course reverse could happen if Naira's value were to appreciate. That is precisely where the major risk lies.
Your point is valued, the instability of the countries currency is an issue and we the citizens of Nigeria have been dealing with that for a long time coming,  but I believe there should be a dollar equivalent of it, I think there are dollar options you could buy, because I already read somewhere but I cannot remember that it was also listed in the U.S stock exchange. So you can check that if you really want to get it, I believe Dangote himself would have thought of all this options before making his own decisions.

Before any one goes investing into Dangote's refinary you should do well to understand what your getting yourself into.

It's called Dangote's refinary IPO (IPO stands for initial public offering, it means allowing the public buy shares from a company) Reasons is to raise funds to either pay their first investors or to expand the company

Now they want to raise money and if all the 10% are sold they expect to make 2.15 trillion Nira, that is $1.6billion,
For a regular Nigerian that will want to buy with excitement with the expectation to make some money, you also have to know that they are offering this deal because they need $1.6 billion, and they need it for either settling first investors (people or institutions who provided capital for the company before the IPO) or they want to expand the company, if they use it to settle those first investors that means those investors automatically sold, and based on my experiences both in the crypto market and stocks when sells like that happen the market will sell massively and that will make a lot of investors loose money, and some people will regret. Although after a sell like that happen if the company does well you will still expect an upward rally after that.

So what I'm basically saying is that when your investing in Dangote's refinary you goal should be long-term, if you are to excited and you want some good money to get things done, this in not the investment for that.

I think that the best thing to do even if you want to invest in dangotes refinery stocks is to wait for at least 6 months, these few investments that are being made are either going into political campaigns or used to pay other investors. At first I thought it was phishing but it turns out that dangote is actually selling shares and the minimum entry is $4 which isn't much of a big deal to lose. But a lot of people are starting to think that this is going to be their way out of poverty and they are Investing 20 times the minimum entry amount.

I still think Bitcoin investment is so much better than investing in a centralized platform.  The reason behind is that Bitcoin does not implement any restrictions on buying and holding.  You can argue with regulation, but it is not native to the bitcoin network, and there are lots of ways to avoid these unjust regulations implemented by the external authorities (government).

For example, if I invest to the opportunity stated by @OP, how can I deal with that country's regulation?  Since I am not residing in that country, I am sure there are foreign policies to observe.  Unlike Bitcoin, where the boundaries are broken, and any form of investment transaction (buying and holding) is treated by the system the same way throughout the globe. To put it simply, it is less hustle to invest in Bitcoin.

In additon let us say I am very interested to invest on this Dangote's Refinery, what should I do?  As a foreign investor, do I need certain documents to be able to qualify to buy a share from the company?

Buying shares is better than keeping large sums of money in the bank. Dangote conglomerate has proved over the years to be a viable investment. Shareholders in some of its companies have been enjoying high dividends. But those who want to invest should consider that Dangote is doing well currently because of the political patronage it has received from both the present and past Nigerian governments. What would happen when the company falls out of the favor of the government in power? It is risky to invest in a country that lacks strong and reliable institutions. Investors should also consider the inflation rate of Nigeria to ascertain if keeping their money in shares is worth it. As I said earlier, it is not a bad investment. However, let potential shareholders do their research.

According to the news, it was said that those who bought the IPO shares will choose which currency, USD or the Naira how they want to receive the dividends in. The Dangote Refinery does not supply oil to Nigeria alone. It deals in the foreign market, which makes it a big company worth investing in. No doubt there will be profit for long-term investors. Profit for short-term investors is not guaranteed in this context. I believe the price per unit will drop in price once the units are released to investors.

A lot of people are thinking that they can get rich from this overnight but that's not really how it works, the main reason why he is making this public Is because he probably wants to pay initial investors or put the money into other things. The target the company has is to make over a trillion. This could be another investment or it could just be a scheme pulled off by a rich man. If anything goes south in the future nothing is going to happen to dangote because he has the support of the Nigerian government and he is a billionaire. The problem a lot of people have is that they are quick to make an investment without carrying out proper research.

The Dangote Refinery Shares/IPO has been a long awaited IPO for the people of Nigeria who knows what investment is all about. I don't know if other foreign investors can take part in this shares, except they make use of some Nigerian investment fintech bodies like cowrywise (which is one I am using).

These forms of investments are not for a get rich quick kinds of personalities. Investment in this, you will have to give it time for the next couple of years before it may start materialising. Patience is a major tool for investing in shares as it is not as volatile like the crypto industry.

The shares will be listed in Nigeria market, you can also give the means that people from other countries can invest in it. This will been better than not posting posting about it.

US, UK and many other people that are not citizens of Nigeria may not be able to invest in the IPO, but Nigerian diaspora that have Nigerian valid documents can be able to invest in it.

If Dangote wants people from countries like US and UK to invest in the stock, it has to take FZE to the international markets.
The IPO is primarily for Africans but actually open for everyone to invest in because the plan is to expand the business to other countries like Kenya where he plan to build a second refinery. Those outside Africa that wants to invest can do that through one of the African fintech companies like Bamboo or Cowrywise. The shares can also be purchased via the banks such as Ecobank and the rest of them.
