In the healthcare sector even small decisions can cause huge losses due to mistakes. And in usually AI is used in all tasks to find information, which can find specific information in a very short time, it is also possible to do such work in the healthcare sector, which will save time.
But depending on AI for treatment is very risky. There is a threat of death. AI can diagnose a patient as a different disease according to his symptoms and prescribe medicine. According to the past medical reports of many patients, even common medicines can cause harm to them. AI will never know these things, it will only prescribe medicine according to your command, which is much more risky.
We should not completely depend on AI for very sensitive matters like treatment. Even sometimes we try to solve our minor physical problems through AI. AI may suggest us some normal medicine. But as conscious people, we should understand that no physical problem should be think as minor . A common disease can cause major physical damage. So we should not involve AI in everything.

While AI has been seen being more practiced in critical healthcare workflows, but know the fact that this AI isn't doing the main job, they are just there as helping tools, while those physicians and nurses are still making the major operations. So there is no danger there. The only thing that everything will be put in danger if this AI and human partnership will not fit or both are incompetent and ineffective. But I don't think this is the case, AI is there to help, not as a burden to these medical practitioners.
I've seen a lot of physician using AI to analyse symptom of their patient secretly, I'm not against it and in fact I like it this way because the physician can get second opinion to analyse the symptom and not being overly confident which mean lesser chance for wrong diagnosis. AI really excels to increase efficiency when used by professional and I hope it stays that way. Healthcare workflow should always be about competent physician diagnosing the patient and not relying 100% on AI. Hopefully it can also reduce cost and give wider access to better healthcare around the world. Just like how software engineer can increase output by using AI, a physician can diagnose accurately more patient in a day with the help of AI.

Completely relying on Ai can be disastrous. It should just be a toil used to ascertain, check and improve productivity and accuracy and not the workman itself doing the whole work. Just like the invent of robotics, that helped to do work but are still controlled by humans. Just like it, many times robots failed in there activities, sometimes doing it wrongly or not as planned, and faces regulations by humans. The same way I think AI can also be used but should be used as just a help tool to foster more reliability and good output in healthcare services.

Normally, are you seeing the use of AI in the healthcare sector in a good way or in a bad way?
AI is technological advancement so it's supposed to improve the healthcare sector and be a blessing as then we can give better healthcare to patients and that's what I believe it's doing. Information can be easily access giving doctors and nurses more resources to render immediate care to cases they aren't familiar with, medications can be easily researched on and other valuable information can be pulled up in matters of seconds to save a life. In the area of surgery, AI assistances can come in handle as the operation can be done smoothly with the use of AI advanced robots to carry out the surgery without any complications. We can also have Ai powered robots to give you letter healthcare or montour your vitals just to avoid any issues etc. No way AI is going to be a curse to the health-care sector.

I see this as a good opportunity to improve healthcare systems. I don't think it should be dangerous if it is tested properly and done with the right regulations and testing in place.
The one thing i think would be a problem is if the data is used incorrectly and used in evil ways to hurt someone.
For sure, it would be a thing that we are going to venture out as a human race, but i think we could really make things easier with the help of AI.

Data corruption is another thing to look out for, if an AI/Robot is meant to work peacefully on the human body and someone or some bad actors intentionally infect such AI, it can get out of hands pretty fast. I believe that AI should be limited or maybe restricted, especially when implemented in a robot body, we are playing with fire even if it's been tested several times, let's forget that side and start to think about what could happen if back actors hunt for these robots. And they are already talking about making AI to be the most intelligent, how is that not risky for humans? If AI can think and reason for itself they will start having their own goals too.

Technology becomes more useful to humanity the moment we really understand its limits. While it’s very true that AI can be very valuable when it comes to making healthcare a lot more faster and even give professionals access to information that they might not have had immediately. But does that mean people should just follow every recommendation from AI models without human judgement? Definitely not. When it comes to issues that concerns human healthcare, even the slightest mistakes could result to serious consequences. So in conclusion, keeping qualified professionals around is just as important as the technology itself.

Technology is moving towards improvement, different types of work can be used in the healthcare with AI. Currently, we can see that different types of activities are going on to use AI in different types of critical work.
AI is doing good helpful work in small small things in the healthcare sector but bringing AI towards critical works seems to be taking a dangerous form.
Normally, are you seeing the use of AI in the healthcare sector in a good way or in a bad way?
I can give a vivid example of how artificial intelligence helped me cure a disease I had literally a month ago, and this isn’t made up — it’s a completely real case. So, I started experiencing constant headaches and neck pain, and when I went to see a neurologist, she prescribed medications that didn’t quite fit the treatment for this condition. With the help of AI, I was able to figure out roughly what the problem was. Together with the AI, we came up with two possible explanations: it could be muscles or blood vessels. And after certain studies, I ultimately understood the essence of his condition almost completely with the help of AI, while the neurologist hadn’t figured it out yet. And just imagine, during the next consultation, I told her myself what tests I should undergo, and she confirmed them. In other words, the AI helped me understand my condition faster than a professional doctor could.

I'd also agree that the primary issues that they will face is the means of collection and utilization of the data. Information on health matters is personal and should have strict rules to ensure that the information is not misused and privacy will not be breached for any individual particularly patients. Technology can be very useful but it has its responsibilities. this AI is certainly helpful to us in the future and in the hands of responsible use, it can make a lot of positive changes in the healthcare sector and improve the lives of numerous people.

As we know, AI helps humans in all fields, but among them of all fields, the most sensitive department is healthcare, where a small mistake can lead to a patient's death. What's your opinion about the use of AI in healthcare? In my opinion, in healthcare, I don't recommend it completely and don't deny its usage. Here are some reasons, such as facilitating medical staff, making reports, identifying major signs, and reading reports in these fields. AI must be useful, and its work is able to be appreciated, but diagnosing a disease by communicating with patients is not recommended. For example, if an AI tool diagnoses the wrong disease, then its effect on the patient is unbearable. So I do not have any issue with the use of AI, but I'm trying to convince people that AI is not completely trustworthy in the medical field, especially in diagnostic centers. Maybe in upcoming years, AI will completely dominate this field. What's your opinion about it?

I might not be right on this but we are beginning to rely too much on Ai and the downside of this is that we are beginning to look down on the existence of humans like it doesn't mean anything. I would not say that Ai in the healthcare sector is a curse because there is a lot that can be done with it but the problem with this is that we might be playing with a lot of lives because Ai can make mistakes, perhaps the chances of this happening is quite low but still there is a possibility that this can happen. It is a blessing because this shows that technology is improving and we can use this to our benefits but there are still lots of uncertainties about this.

I'm using AI in UI/UX design and it's tremendously helping me and accelerating my work process, so I assume it's doing the same thing in the healthcare sector. Imagine how much research AI can do and help scientists to discover new medications. We only get stronger models every year. I don't think that we should delay progress but we should use the progress of AI to boost the progress of the healthcare sector and other sectors. I know a case where AI was correct and the doctor was wrong. I'm not from a country where healthcare is good but AI has worked much better than doctors for many people.

You may know well why discussion about AI is happening because everyone is understanding in which directions AI is moving at the present time.
Different people who are involved in research on AI are giving their final statements and stepping away from the path of AI, that's why currently the topic of AI is being discussed much more.
AI is helping quite well in the medical field too but not seeing the use of AI in different types of critical work in a good way, that's why the post has been created for discussion. As you said, I am also saying the same because AI is helping us in different ways but I think the use of AI in the healthcare sector for critical work will never be right.
Yea, I think AI is very useful in certain fields and sectors currently but it is not ready to be deployed absolutely everywhere, even though a lot of people seem to think it is. Personally I have heard in my country that AI seems to be quite successful in making detections on certain types of cancers. It could have a higher successful detection rate than human detections, so in this regard this is a positive use case. Using AI to sort out your personal files and emails and finding that it went ahead and deleted everything is not a good use case! Normally it was us consumers are the ones that are not rushing with this AI. Our thinking is only basic and our first look about the AI is its drawbacks are the ones that surfaces the most compared to the potential benefit it can bring. Experts know better than us anyway. They study things first before deployment in order to minimize the room for errors because their reputation is also at stake here. That is a good thing about AI you heard in your country mate but here in mine, I saw a news one time that doctors from other foreign countries are now operating remotely on here. I think AI is involved on that operation. There are just things that are out of reach of a normal individual in which this is where AI can now shine. Even though there is also a risk but at least there is an action that has been done and the chance for success may still be higher. I think in the case of AI - it has been released into the wild so to speak in order for the general public to firstly use it and get involved with it, secondly to help ot learn and thirdly to do all the initial work for the software tech companies for free. As regards to having an operation done with the use of AI is actually a bit scary to me, was it more robotics though than AI? On the other side though, if you were having that operation in the future and the results of previous operations was positive would it still deter you?

What if healthcare becomes more expensive and now individual that are not financially capable will have to face the bad effects of illness. What will happen to those who will loose their jobs.. Introducing AI to this and that.. they should also be aware of the after effects of these AI and should be able to sort them out you don't just get to do some thing and abandon the negativity it causes..
Over all I feel it should be regulated and, they should be able to fix what so ever it causes, replace jobs, reduce cost etc..

What your comment points to is that humans have to find a way to upgrade their current skill level,so as not to get put out of a job because AI can do it better. We have to leave the junior aspects of our jobs for AI and upgrade to higher knowledge that would entail we oversee what AI is doing and how to manage the use of AI in the workplace, because as it stands now, AI is in almost every sector and the jobs it replaces is the low level skills. So even in medicine and healthcare sector, that is what they are being applied to. You don't expect AI to do major surgeries because they are not yet up to that stage but they can provide guidance during surgery and be a replacement for the many staff that would normally perform a serious surgery with so many medical staff in the theater.

Quite a lot of "healthcare" is only probabilities in matching the symptoms of one person with anything recorded in the past. AI can do that faster than us, just specialized humans may be needed to double check against hallucinations and other silly tricks AI brings just to give an answer in difficult cases. Protein folding and other "search" / "match" / "brute force" operations may also be just fine for AI to do them. Heck, even talking and assessing what is wrong with a person may be done better by AI simply because it has more "patience" and longer "attention span" than an actual medic. But we do have to draw the line. Although many seek nowadays help and comfort from AI chatbots over the internet, people tend to forget that those don't care and only give the answers that are probabilistically the good ones. Plus an AI didn't take the Hippocratic Oath, never forget that. Over all I feel it should be regulated and, they should be able to fix what so ever it causes, replace jobs, reduce cost etc.. The costs are going down. The top tier models from a few months ago now are visibly cheaper. Of course, the newest top tier models are now even more expensive too, but a company should have now enough options to optimize the costs. Imho the price paid for healthcare is not that tightly related to their costs, sadly it's sometimes related more to how desperate the "customers" are.

You have a point, Ai in the wrong hands can be very disastrous, a lot of people have this weird conspiracy theory about Ai becoming self aware and making decisions on their own but personally I doubt if such a thing can ever happen, Ai cannot just do anything that it hasn't been authorized to do. A lot of people just have their opinions about it and it's always based on science fictions and not actual facts. If the data is in the wrong hands like you said there could be a problem, Ai follows the command that it is given till it is carried out, in the hands of unreasonable people it could be a tool for destruction and not really to save lives.

Instead of worrying, just learn to adapt. Whether we like it or not, AI will become common, not just in the healthcare sector, but also in different sectors. Also, there are different jobs in healthcare, it's not like it's all about operations. Some work will become faster, more efficient and accurate because of AI. AI is like your additional helper.
It will only cause danger if you are entirely dependent on AI and you are a doctor. AI is good, but that doesn't mean it won't have an error or bug, that's why you can't depend entirely on AI especially if you are a doctor.

My mother is a doctor with thirty years of work experience, who is parallelly building an academic career. I introduced her to AI a year and a half ago; before that, she was unaware of the existence of this tool. So, young specialists work in her department who finished their residency just a couple of years ago. And my mom says that ChatGPT and the like are simply a new plague, because these young doctors consult with them on everything, ignoring the possibility of making their own observations and conclusions. And because of this, they miss a great deal, and most importantly, they do not learn from older and more experienced colleagues, thinking that they can rely on AI in everything.
This can serve as an example of how AI undermines the professional growth of doctors. Young doctors, of course, want to follow the easy path, and as a result, AI replaces professional growth for them. This is bad from the traditional perspective on the profession. But from the perspective of the beneficiaries of the introduction of AI into all aspects of society, this is precisely the goal. Such doctors will later be easily replaced by AI, and they will find themselves out of work. But there is a trap here. In general, to manage a certain system (AI), the managing system (human scientists) must be more complex than the managed system. In the human population, only a fraction of a percent are geniuses, and a few percent are very intelligent people. Among them, an even smaller number receive an education and have the opportunity for professional self‑realization. In absolute terms, this number will decrease due to the corrupting influence of AI. If the population shrinks, the number of intelligent people will drop even further. There will come a time when there will be no scientists capable of maintaining, developing, and controlling AI. And there will simply be no one to teach the new ones.

I don't know for sure because I'm not a doctor or medical professional, but I definitely think AI will definitely be very useful for the world of health. For example, to diagnose diseases more quickly, or for hospital administration, it will also be very good. So yes, it is certainly very useful if used properly. But if AI is included in surgery or other critical matters, I think it is very dangerous for now. Because basically, a person's life should not be endangered by AI. So the conclusion is that AI is very good to be used as a tool to help diagnose diseases, or even to find new drugs, maybe according to the news. So yes, that's the conclusion. But more importantly, humans are clearly better, and AI also clearly must be able to be controlled well by humans so they can become good AI.
