Do you have better advice? Genuinely? For my friend.
It's good you talked him out of it.

The second golden rule says, "Do unto others as you would want them to do to you."

Yeah, your friend got scammed, and it was hurtful, painful, and all that. However, it shouldn't be the reason to start scamming others too. He should learn from it and move on.

Some persons got scammed, and it encouraged them to learn about scams, and today, they are scam baiters, reporting, preventing, and educating people about scams. Your friend can also be that guy.
Even to me, it sounded like his friend has intentions to scam others in order to recover what he lost. I think that's because he can see easy money there but might oversee the deed. Scamming others would never do good to us is what I think. I strongly believe in karma and I think what we do now will find it's way back to us in future. Instead of scamming, it is better to earn way less but live a peaceful life with no questions asked. Also, I don't think one can really respect that money earned via scamming. That money would disappear much faster.

His friend might want to earn money instead of reporting or educating others. Yes, this is definitely a better choice but I doubt his friend would consider until he recovers the loss.

If I had a friend like that, I’d try to talk some sense into them to get them to give up that idea, but then I’d find a way to end our friendship. I don’t think this person would be an ideal friend for you because someone who’s trying to scam someone else today might think about scamming you tomorrow. Staying friends with someone like that could hurt you in the long run...

There are many people who have started from scratch and achieved success. Your friend can draw the motivation they need right now from people who have hit rock bottom due to similar problems and then climbed back to the top. Life is very difficult for all of us, and we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. At this point, our duty should always be to work hard, but it should never be to scam someone else...

I am somewhat confused after reading all the comments that have come up in this discussion thread. Seeing how everyone is flattering or consoling his friend, it seems that no one really understands why they chose this path. Before solving a problem, one must understand why the problem arose.
The issue is not that your friend just wants to get back the lost money or is deliberately choosing the wrong path. People do not choose unethical paths for no reason. When someone is under extreme pressure, they start looking for ways to get out of it. Finding no path, they think, 'I have to solve this problem no matter what'. At that very moment, they do not have the ability to distinguish between right and wrong.
This has happened in my own case as well. Like the original poster, a friend of mine had invested in cryptocurrency and lost all his money. After that, he started behaving almost like a madman. Eventually, he began to forget the pain of losing money, but with no money in his pocket, he became financially destitute. When a member of his family fell ill and asked him for money, he couldn’t give it. From that moment, he started thinking of himself as the worst person in the world. Gradually, he returned to his unusual state. Now he only thinks about earning money. Sometimes he talks to me about different plans, but I’ve never agreed with him. I knew about his problems, so whenever he was in trouble, I helped him as much as I could. Now he is fully engaged in good work and never thinks about cheating anyone (Very briefly stated).. This is how I listened to my friend problem and helped him get out of those bad thoughts. Since you’re his friend, you should first listen to his problem. He has lost a lot of money and must have faced some kind of crisis ,that’s why he’s suggesting you take this path. You should understand the problem and help him get out of it.

Losing money can make someone feel sad and frustrated after the years of hard work but cheating other people isn't the right thing at all. Cheating may bring some money temporarily but it may destroy someone's future. So he should  reconsider investing again in crypto which may change his life.
Earning money honestly is always better to earn money by hurting people and he should focus on new opportunities instead of trying to recover his losses through scamming others in wrong way

After many years in crypto space he seems to have failed and tired 😩😫

He came to my place yesterday and what he said shocked me as I wasn't expecting such..

Friend, I think we all got it wrong, in crypto space it pays to become a scammer than trying so hard to be an investor and still fail, gullible people are everywhere they will fall for one or two scams easily, he said.

Has your friend look at many scammers that have been investigated and jailed for crypto scam? Stealing doesn't pay and it doesn't matter if it's crypto, anywhere you still that money will not last long. It might not come now, you can enjoy the money for as long as you want but when the times comes, jail will be the end. There are many people that loss everything in one bear market, they stay up and gave everything once more and they make more than they imagined.

Quote
I believe this is coming from his side of frustration, he lost his long time holding in February 2026, I guess he hasn't gotten over it yet obviously, mind you I talked him out of scamming others like a revenge thing.

After he went back home I thought about it very well, scammers are really making a killing in this space, and they are doing it for free, getting away with it, but hurting a human like myself is what I can't do, imagine stealing 10 BTC that belongs to a father who have saving it for years, planning to leave it behind for his family if possible.

Do you have better advice? Genuinely? For my friend.

10 Bitcoin? You didn't say any detail how he lost that amount. If you own that significant amount of Bitcoin, you shouldn't joke around with your security. How do you even loss everything when he didn't use an exchange or is it the regular Trust wallet stories I see around where people get phished? You can't a solution to particular problem until he discus the rest of the story, how he loss the Bitcoin before he can get a better advice.

To be honest, I feel like you are the one that needs this advice not your friend, maybe you are not being honest to us, but is okay, I just want to make something clear, your friend or you didn't lose his Bitcoin to scammers right? He lost it when the market crashed right? Why would anyone possibly think about scamming others? Innocent people that has never stole from you ? People that weren't the cause of your misfortune? There is no good excuse for committing crime and such mentality isn't good in our society. People should learn to be patient and always take other legal means of acquiring wealth. Say no to scam

Many people don't think like this anymore, we are now in one of those evil times where people will gladly kill other people for their own future, this happens a lot in my country, families are surviving on crime to feed the mouth.

A family that consists of older people and they all can't reason like a living being, there is a way that karma works and it makes people questions the existence of karma, people have said it to my face that people's life has to get ruined for others to be successful.

It's a Lion and a Lamb's world, but this feels good coming from a stranger, many people wouldn't care.

You are also sounding harsh towards him. His friend might be talking out of frustration from what he might have observed and not what he has experience with scammers. Assuming he was scammed, and he has the intention of scamming people, he would be doing that and retaliating but it's going to be innocent people and one day if he is caught in the act, he will answer to everything he has done.

Scam doesn't justify anything, even if you are going through health challenges you should never try to scam anyone. If you see the way prison change people and affect mental health after doing time, you wouldn't think of about it twice.

Life inevitably involves setbacks. Besides, it wouldn't be at all interesting if everything were easy and free of challenges. Smiley Your friend needs to learn how to "take a hit". Smiley

He came to my place yesterday and what he said shocked me as I wasn't expecting such..

Friend, I think we all got it wrong, in crypto space it pays to become a scammer than trying so hard to be an investor and still fail, gullible people are everywhere they will fall for one or two scams easily, he said.
In moments of desperation, people may say foolish things, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will go on to act on them.

I believe this is coming from his side of frustration, he lost his long time holding in February 2026, I guess he hasn't gotten over it yet obviously, mind you I talked him out of scamming others like a revenge thing.
Did he end up a victim of scammers?

How long had his holding been in existence?

Who is he planning to take revenge on? Innocent victims who had absolutely nothing to do with his loss? He should "punish" the people who actually harmed him instead. Then again, if he did fall victim to scammers, he only has himself to blame for being so trusting and naive.

I’d like to hear the full details of his story.

After he went back home I thought about it very well, scammers are really making a killing in this space, and they are doing it for free, getting away with it, but hurting a human like myself is what I can't do, imagine stealing 10 BTC that belongs to a father who have saving it for years, planning to leave it behind for his family if possible.
This is comparable to shattering another person’s dreams and hopes. It is profoundly cruel - for these savings might serve as a vital "safety net" for the future, or perhaps as funds earmarked for a child’s education. In other words, the "value" of these crypto assets to their owner may be immeasurably greater than just a specific sum of money.

Do you have better advice? Genuinely? For my friend.
Accept the loss. Don't seek revenge against anyone, for life is too short to waste it on malice - especially malice directed at oneself. Focus instead on what brings pleasure. If he is tired and disillusioned with the cryptoindustry, let him take a rest. He can return when he is ready. Life doesn't end with setbacks \ financial losses. Money can always be earned again. Just keep walking. Forward.

If he is mature, I don't think he should be given any advice because he would know what responsibilities he has. If he doesn't work hard along with maturity, then he should work hard and make some income to improve his life. In addition, he should gradually learn about the world and do something great. If he learns about crypto, he can make a much better life. In addition, he should keep his morals good and love people so that people appreciate him and consider him good. In addition, he should try to fulfill his dream and struggle so that he can make tomorrow easier for himself. In addition, the world teaches a person at every new turn, so everyone has to understand that he should make himself strong.

It is natural for a person to feel hurt when facing losses in investments, especially when that money is earned by a person through hard work. But one should not make others suffer to compensate for one's own losses. Losing money in the market and losing money through fraud are not the same thing, we need to understand this difference well. It is not right to harm another innocent person for one's own loss. This not only wastes their hard-earned money, but also completely breaks the trust that one has in another. When faced with a financial crisis, people can often think of making the wrong decision, but even in that situation it is important to maintain one's conscience and integrity. Because although it is possible to earn back the lost money, once a person loses trust, it is very difficult to regain it.

Scam is not a concept new to crypto or even human kind it is there even before we invented the concept of banking but with digital format of money then things became easier for them to stay unknown while stealing money but governments are chasing the ones who did serious crimes while many just get away when they steal few thousand dollar or more but did to an average middle class person who don't have energy left to take the long legal fight to take them down.

So my advice is be careful next time. Don't trust anybody...

Why do you have to  mention don don’t trust anyone?  It very truth that scams existed before crypto and yes the digital now makes it even easier to hide, but still saying someone shouldn’t trust anybody is what even makes the scammers happy now let see it ask when you trust nobody, you become isolated, and isolated people are easier to scam again….

When I mean don't trust anyone is just don't give attention to anyone who comes up with an investment plan, it can be a random person you met online or someone you personally knew suggesting that you must invest because it can give you returns. We should only take decisions whenever we are convinced, and when we don't have enough knowledge then we should educate ourselves.

Sorry, just trying to feel on the safer side, it really now understanding you have put your words together now…Don’t trust anyone was really sounding like you should live in a bunker at first, but now you have made it clear by say don’t trust investment pitches blindly too…

It just feel so sad when I hear someone got scammed today, just by saying bring that money I will double it such thing should not even get to anyone mind…..

I don’t think this person would be an ideal friend for you because someone who’s trying to scam someone else today might think about scamming you tomorrow. Staying friends with someone like that could hurt you in the long run...

Regardless of the fact that, they might want to scam me someday, associating with such friend really does put you at risk. I wouldn’t discard him, he needs someone to show him the part to living a honorable life. Life isn’t easy for sure but, we need to accept the fact that, we can’t always get what we want or have things our way.

Maybe this individual should get his friend to see the other side of the picture, the work that is done by innocent victims, the many hours they’ve got to put in, the futuristic plans they’ve got for themselves and how this rip would shatter the dreams of someone else. They really need to see that to fully understand the consequences of their actions and most of all, no one can’t live a life of crime and be free.

It’s better to be free than being hunted or locked up as it’s the fate of criminals.

How did they have access into his wallet and steal his 10btc in the first place? It doesn't matter how long he has saved his BTC and his purpose of doing so. The mistakes he made which I believe was what cost him his 10btc is that he didn't take the security of his wallet as his top priority. Scammers can't steal your assets in your wallet unless you gave them your seed phrase or passphrase, I guess he may have given it to them intentionally and he didn't see the danger ahead. There is no point of him taking revenge on others just because his 10btc was stolen by scammers. Revenge won't bring back his 10btc but letting go slowly will heal his wounds fast than taking revenge on people who had no parts in his predicament.

The fact that no one is perfect doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take care of our wallet or secure our wallet well, i will not blame anyone for his lost because how did someone get access to his wallet from the first place, no matter how it is, if an investor did not make a mistake or do something that will make him lose his investment it will be difficult for him to get scam, those who don’t have that amount of bitcoin are doing everything to make sure they never get scam and he that have up to 10 btc got scam.

If he has a plan to go and start scamming people too or stealing from people he shouldn’t use the lost of his btc to make an excuse, there is nothing revenge will bring back, he might even get caught in the process and send to prison for years, people have lost more than what he lost and they are still trying their best to bounce back, some even bounced back and get more than what they lost, of he has another plan in his mind he should say it than using another thing as an excuse.

I believe this is coming from his side of frustration, he lost his long time holding in February 2026, I guess he hasn't gotten over it yet obviously, mind you I talked him out of scamming others like a revenge thing.
If you were scammed and after years has gone buy you are still feeling the impact of the scam, what do you think those you planned scamming will feel is you take that part? no matter your reason for going into fraud, fraud is fraud and doesn't end well. as someone that has been scammed, i think he is even in the best position to advice others not to be part of that bad and faulty system.

Bitcoin investment might not promise an investor quick returns like the way scammers gets their funds but it is always better to eat little that has dignity that going after plenty that comes with curses.

That's not a good choice. There might be some kind of identity loss or something, and I think that's a more worrisome sign.
There are other things to do aside from scamming lol
From the way I see it's just a lack of prospect and not willing to put in effort to get financial freedom. There are people that assume that the only way that they can make the amount of money that they aim to get is by scamming but that mindset is a way that they sabotage themselves with realizing it until it is too late. Besides scamming takes a lot of hardwork and that same effort can be put into learning something legal.

Losing money can make someone feel sad and frustrated after the years of hard work but cheating other people isn't the right thing at all. Cheating may bring some money temporarily but it may destroy someone's future. So he should  reconsider investing again in crypto which may change his life.
One downside of fraud and how it destroys people that get involved in it is that they start having unrealistic expectations and this becomes a problem when they no longer have anyone else to scam. Fast money also gets exhausted the same way the money was made, that's the reason why it's important to make money legitimately even though the process might be slow.
