It's such a big shame that a Nigerian team managed to win CAF Champions League twice, and in this ongoing CAF Champions League Rangers is the only Nigerian team that qualified to the next round, and from the look of things I don't even think Rangers can win the CAF Champions League.
It is football brother and in that game, no champion reigns forever. I understand your feeling but what we are seeing now is a sharp decline in football generally including the national team that failed to qualify for the 2026 World cup. If they overhaul the management of NFA, I'm sure something good might begin to happen to Nigerian football. It is a big shame indeed if we have to compare Nigeria with other African countries that have won the CAF Champions League trophy. The CAF Champions League trophy, It's now that I have found out that the North Africa(Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria) is the one dominating it because they have won the trophy 37 times, more than half of the total since the CAF Champions League competition started in 1964 till today. Nigeria and Ivory Coast won twice. Guinea, South Africa, and Ghana won it three times. Find out more details with this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAF_Champions_League

Find out more details with this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAF_Champions_LeagueSince the last 2 decades the North African teams have been dominating both CAF champions league and the Confredation cup. If we were to check why they are better than the sub Saharan African clubs , you will notice that they have good sporting projects, in terms of finances, infrastructures, coverage, salary+bonuses, sponsorship etc. So there's are no excuse for clubs from that part of Africa not to play well. Which is why Al Alhy is biggest team with staggering 12 Champions league (The Real Madrid of Africa) and they move like the top clubs in Europe. The only country that still impresses me in the sub Saharan countries is South Africa. Their league is one of the best to,with quality infrastructures and other things like the North African. Mamelodi sundowns is an example, but the remaining teams in other Africa countries are poor in everything. Like our local clubs who doesn't make good impact the continental football. I expect them NA teams to still dominate for a long time only South African teams can compete with them.

I am not surprised at the results of the CAF tournament because our local leagues are not well equipped to go that far although the two teams that won the trophy in the past had strong support in every competition and I could remember vividly clear when the then Late Sen. Ifeanyi Uba gave them support fully and they won the trophy if I am not mistaken and ever since then it has been difficult for any Nigeria clubs to get through to the final stage of the CAF tournament. Another thing that bothers me is that we trade players round the globe who are doing perfectly well but down home hear nothing is heard about our local football league, the clubs are not even known not to talk to being recognised because they don't even qualify for the CAF tournament. It is quite unfortunate.

Just the other day I saw a video where the car that was sent to pick up the super eagles was a car that should not be used to pick up stars, and this is because they don’t value their footballers and the footballers knows that the government really don’t value them and really don’t care what they play. Any super eagle player that is performing very well is just doing it because he wants to make Nigerias citizens happy and they love what they are doing. If the super eagles don’t qualify for the next world cup I won’t blame the players at all.

I don't know why any Nigerian that have the opportunity to occupy any public office always fail to do the right thing that will better Nigeria. This mindset is what is drawing Nigeria backward, and if Nigerians don't change this mindset it will be difficult for our football to get better because our leaders put themselves first before putting the people they are representing, and the NFF will keep embezzling the funds meant for the well fair if the Super Eagles, just imagine the car that was sent to pick up the Super Eagles.

Alright guys, let's talk about this match, it's tomorrow and happening on Nigerian soil at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu. They'll battle it out as both teams are in good form in their different leagues, Enugu rangers are top of the NPL table while MC Alger is 6th place in Algerian Ligue1 with 2 matches outstanding. They're both in good form for the match What is your prediction in this match?

The only reason these West African countries you mention have won less caf champions league title is because they have not invested so much in their football, like this north African countries that usually sign top players from other top African team, just to strengthen their team and also get the highest quality in the process, and most importantly, they pays their players very well, unlike these teams in this West African countries you called out now, that find it difficult to invest in their squad, since they are not as rich as these north african teams. The last time most of these West african teams won the caf champions league, check very well they invested so much in their team, so if the West african club side starts investing in their team like the north Africans, I believe that with time we are going to see them up there with these north africans.

This is the exact reason why many talents are dying in Africa because of poor investment, how do you expect a player of a team to perform when they don't have the right support and sponsorship? When they will always need to protest and beg before their bonuses are paid? It's not a good way to treat your players and staff and that's why we normally struggle in the global stage and are considered less important or weak because we don't cherish the talents we have and we always treat them anyhow, regardless of who is doing well in the CAF champions league, we need to do well in the global stage too, we can see Morocco working hard to be solid in the global stage and other African teams must also put their best to be strong and solid, and with time, they will make us proud and that will go a long way to start motivate other African teams to invest more in their players and also encourage the team to play well in the global stage. We are strong, only if we have the right support and believe in ourselves.

If MC Alger was to draw this game at Enugu home , then the second leg won't be easy for Rangers. North African teams knows how to play well in their home. Every big chances Enugu have tomorrow must be converted, if they don't do that it will haunt them in the second leg. They are our only hope now, they need to qualify to the group stage so that next season we would still have 2 teams going to the champions league and 2 to the Confredation. Today's match update Young African of Tanzania won by 4 goals away, so that technically means they have already qualified to the group stage. Even Orlando Pirates have qualified in my one view, I don't think African stars will do much in the second leg. We have 2 more matches to go.

What you say is not wrong, in fact there are many young talents in Africa who are very talented in the world of football, but unfortunately the bad behavior of local league management is systemic corruption, Domestic competition is unstable and local football tournament governance is poor, making sponsors reluctant to invest in football leagues in Africa. In the African Champions League, there is still a lot of Nepotism and Age Faking in Junior Teams, such as what happens in U-17 or U-20, these factors will clearly kill pure talent that should really be worthy of developing in the football game in Africa, but they were eliminated due to the bad culture of nepotism. Not to mention the risks faced by young African talents who have to deal with fake agents, they look for victims by disguising themselves and promising professional football contracts at European or Asian clubs, but none of that ever happens, they are actually neglected and their money is wasted, it is a shame that quite a few of the best potential football talents in Africa have lost their careers and foundered on their journey.

You know that we don’t usually follow up in the Algerian League1, we can’t actually know how good MC Alger can be, but for the fact that they are in the sixth piston of their league, they are good, but I think Enugu Rangers are not far better than them either, but for them he sitting on top of the NFL table by losing just one match so far, I think they can win this match. Another advantage is the home advantage. Enugu Rangers will be playing in their home stadium in front of their fans, they can do their best to make their fans happy because this is a foreign opponent, many teams are willing to play the CAF league but are not privileged, they will not take it lightly and will try their best to win the match. My prediction on this match will be 2-1 in favor of the home team.

I would be lying to myself if I am saying that enugu rangers can beat mc alger just because they are playing at home. Mc alger are one of the top teams in Africa, because they are always there competing consistently every year, so I believe that their experience in the competition and their superior quality will be enough to compete effectively against this enugu rangers team, which they stands a chance to win, if they will be more clinical in front of goal, once the opportunity comes. But if I would be gambling on this game, I will be going with the option of away or gg, since they both have the attacking force to punish each other when their is an opportunity.

I see you are very conversant with the CAF championship 🏆. It is just obvious how these continental leagues are ignored by the local broadcasting station's, not even a special time allocated for local leagues for viewers consumption. You can as well do well to post links to websites/channels were we can view live CAF tournament since it is not as popular as we think. It will also be nice if you update your post's with livescores as well to keep readers abreast of the match and winner's.

Enugu rangers actually won this game 2-0, and it was as a result of the red card that mc alger got in the 53 minutes that cost them the game. They were even the favourite to win the game, even though they were playing away from home, but the red card changes everything, which made things very easy for enugu rangers, because it was after the red card, the goals started coming. Congratulations to enugu rangers because it was a very big winning on their own soil.

The action of the ref show professionalism there is nothing he would have done at that point it's purely red as the player never touched the ball but the leg in that eighteen years area, though the decision turn little chaotic as the members of the opposition team runs around for protest that their voice have not remedy of the already issued red card , I will anchor my view that it's the red card that made Enugu rangers victory more clear though their opponent pattern of game was full of violence, rough always falling their opponent once they are ahead or close to eighteen.

This is not the first time I have said this. One red card cannot demoralized a team to lose their match unless the team was already a weak one. Or the player who got the red card was the main key player of the team. Even at that what about the defense or midfield. Though the position the player got the red card also put into consideration.Oussama Benhaoua was the attacking player for MC Alger but that red card wouldn't have affect them. They would used wisdom to draw that game since their were one man out of the pitch against their opponent. It was a lucky day for the Enugu Rangers. Congratulations for them for the win. But they should do better next time.

Congratulations to enugu rangers because it was a very big winning on their own soil. This is a very good victory and advantage to Enugu rangers. Now that they have 2 goal lead advantage they need to make sure that they don't bottle it in the second leg. I am not sure Enugu rangers will be able to do much in Algers home. Most of the Nigeria teams that have gone to North African usually lose. These best thing for them is by trying to score, them they have 2 goal lead and away goals advantage. The chances for Enugu rangers to qualify to the group stage is like 60% Today's match update This is the last game for the first leg. The second leg is expected to start on the 20th of October.

They would used wisdom to draw that game since their were one man out of the pitch against their opponent. It was a lucky day for the Enugu Rangers. Congratulations for them for the win. But they should do better next time. A red card can cause a team to lose a match, but it doesn't mean the team is weak, especially when both teams has a strong squad. Just like the match between Manchester city and Liverpool, Liverpool lost the match to city because of the red card and also they were playing against a strong side. I believe Enugu rangers isn't a weak team , so even if MC Alger has a strong squad, the red card might have giving room for the other team to win . A team can still win with 10 players if there performance is good and they are playing against a weak opponent.

I didn't watch this match but I liked the scores. it would've been very disappointing if Rangers lost from home, now they have a 2 goal advantage while going for the return leg. I could see that Rangers were the first to get a red card in the 13th minutes, so they played with a deficit until the 53rd minute when MC Alger player was red carded as well, so it appears Rangers brought forth the goals when the match became balanced again. I applaud them for this victory, their fans must really be very pleased with the score line.
