Anybody that think he doesn't need Bitcoin has not seen the reason why Bitcoin is needed until they get into one problem. Some countries today have money in other countries like US, but they can't access it because they are sanction by US due to political conflict. If their money was in Bitcoin, that can never happen because you control the key to your wealth, not another man or another country.

There are vast benefits to why holding Bitcoin is very necessary, however, I think people don't care until they need it. If you see any person says he doesn't need Bitcoin then he hasn't gotten a reason to hold Bitcoin.

Everybody needs bitcoin eventually but I think it's important to make it clear for people to hold it rightly through self custody. You can only escape sanctions if you're holding your coin in a self custody wallet. If you hold your coin in any of the centralized exchanges, it's not different from money in your bank because they can freeze it the same way your money could be frozen when government or any authority tells them to.

If you're holding, play by the rules "not your keys, not your coins". Centralized exchanges are operating under a defined rules that they comply with. If you are ever worried about your assets getting freeze due to sanctions, bitcoin is here to give you the freedom but only if you're in control of your keys.

Anyone who believes that stablecoin is more valuable than Bitcoin is ignorant. It's just like comparing oranges and apples. Stablecoins are centralised, therefore controlled by an organisation. Bitcoin's price increases, thereby making it a valuable asset and a hedge against inflation. Stablecoins have some good parts like their stability and wide usage, but that doesn't make them, or any fiat currency, more valuable.

El Salvador is a good example, but it seems they have deviated from the initial plans for Bitcoin. The World Bank and International Monetary Fund kept mounting pressure on Nayib Bukele, making him shift some ground.

You're right, but it's very difficult to fight against a system that tells you that fiat currency, the dollar, the euro, or gold are more valuable and have the highest store of value index. However, we are clear that BTC is the best asset of all, and that it's much better to own BTC. But we must exist within the system because we still can't be completely irreverent, as the elites are in control; they run the police, government agencies, and everything else.

As long as we know about BTC and can openly discuss its benefits here on the internet, I'm sure those who come seeking information will consider our words and advice. So far, that's how it is.

I always find it interesting the fact that adoption doesn't necessarily mean there is always more to build on BTC. It may just be that Bitcoin is going to be a standard way of settling and the financial system is slow, costly, or restrictive. Interesting about cross-border settlement is that the same asset can cross 24 hours a day, at any time, and without relying on a correspondent bank chain, or on banking hours. The problem is to make that experience so easy that users do not have to know the technicalities of the Bitcoin system.

Everyone can attribute a primary characteristic to it or view its utility through their own economic and social lens—there is no single perspective on its usefulness, as that depends on the individual; one certainly cannot rule out the "HODL" strategy. However, given the inherent strengths Bitcoin represents, holding it is never a simple matter; therefore, I disagree with your notion of simplicity in this regard.

Hodling Bitcoin for longer duration is not an easy thing specially for people who are new and not familiar with price fluctuation of Bitcoin. In Oct 2025, price of Bitcoin was at 126k and just few months after we saw Bitcoin going down to 60k. Many sell Bitcoin in panic when price goes down like that. So some people the best use of Bitcoin is to HODL it for long term to get good profit, for me the best utility of Bitcoin is receiving payment from any country and that too without any deduction.

It depends on what sort of adoption we’re talking about, because if we’re referring to adoption by knowledgeable individuals, we have most likely already reached the peak, by which I mean people who are capable of self custody of Bitcoin without relying on third party services. New adopters would mainly be young people coming of age who are taking an interest in the subject. Whereas, in the case of adoption linked to speculation on the spot price or on futures and derivatives, that comes and goes and is cyclical. Everything could change if government funding were to be provided.
There is no clear ways to show that we have reached the peak of self custody adoption, because we don’t have reliable data showing how many bitcoin users are capable of managing their own keys. Let not forgot majority of the users are on centralised exchanges even though they come here and disregard the use of the CEx, we all know that most of this users still used the centralised exchanges. And it’s only the centralised exchanges that can get us the data to know if the adoption is at the peak, but for self custody we never can know.

It is a currency, that and being special from others in terms of decentralization and being censorship resistant the majot use case of bitcoin. The people who are using bitcoin dont have to think about intermediary people while sending and be assured that the money will reach the recipient once sent.

This is the biggest use of bitcoin. It does not need any further use case to solidify its position over the other existing modes of transacting.

Again the use of bitcoin has become as a side effect in storing for long term which is why people prefer it over traditional assets. Now if you are looking for reasons to find cases you will never find much effect in that unless you are willing to see its growth in fiat price over the years.

HODL or Hold has its magic power for people who can maintain this practice with very great ROIs over years of hodling or holding. I consider there is no big difference in practice between holding and hodling but possibly with Bitcoin community, they would like to say HODLing rather than holding.

Holding bitcoin for about 5 years is like very profit guaranteed but if you can hold your bitcoin through 2 cycles or more, profit will be greater.

With Bitcoin blockchain, you can use a non custodial wallet with full control through private keys, and broadcast your Bitcoin transactions, wait for confirmation from Bitcoin miners, without fear of fund freeze by governments during confirmation pending time. No reverse, no charge back like banks or companies can do like Paypal.

Yes, I completely agree with you. The Bitcoin market has been very successful in the long term and the person who has been able to hold on to Bitcoin for a long time by investing in it has definitely achieved success. But to hold on for a long time, faith and patience are required.

If a person can build faith in Bitcoin, then he will definitely be able to face the market decline. The only way to face the decline is to build faith in Bitcoin. If a person is patient and cannot build faith in Bitcoin, then he will never be able to hold on for a long time and will be afraid and sell his holdings during the decline.

Native BTC lending, staking, payments, DeFi the next phase is about putting the Bitcoin people already hold to work without giving up custody.

Everything you're saying is a product of a centralized platform. Bitcoin never offered loan products, staking, or anything like that – it's just decentralized money. The products you're talking about come from third parties, and when someone uses those products, it means they've already been given up custody and are trusting a third party to manage their assets. So basically, they no longer have full control over their assets, and whatever policies that third party has, they need to comply with them in order to keep accessing those features.

Right now Bitcoin doesn't need anyone's help, it needs your silence 🤐, it needs you to put an end to your shilling career from the past, it's aware of the wrench attack killing its people.

Do nothing, the best has been done already.

Leave everything for the news and powerful people, Shilling Bitcoin is no more the job of the average masses, it's now the job of the big players who have better security around them.

Leave it for Trump, leave it for BlackRock, Leave it for the institutions who already made ETFs for Bitcoin, so that your days on mother earth can be long.

What do you think will be the biggest use case for BTC beyond simply holding it?
Beyond Holding, one big use case i hope to see with Bitcoin will be as a cross border legal tender, although on personal grounds some have already been using it as some reliable means of exchange across border, there are much restrictions legally which makes it mostly used as monetary exchange means mostly on personal and some institutional levels, generally it has not been acknowledged as a cross border legal tender for some countries and regions due to their restriction and not adopting it yet.

Becoming that unifying means of exchange across border globally, such that every regions and country accepts it by adoption and sees it as that legal tender, will be a huge benchmark and Mile stone for Bitcoin and, the valuation of Bitcoin will even exceed far beyond what it is now, because its daily volume will be massive and it will have been able to achieve some sort of global currency status, which in itself is another form of valuation.

Bitcoin has gone beyond the stage of hyping it, during it's early days with it's subtle hype most of us still missed out, we were skeptical and didn't take it seriously until the early holders started to get multiplied values on their Bitcoin. So surely Bitcoin doesn't need any hypes because it has clearly passed that stage and like you said in your subject what it needs is more adoption that would reach the grassroots. Already Bitcoin has become an asset to hold on the long term for profit and the next phase of it's adoption should be for what it was originally intended for which is p2p transactions.

Exactly, the main aim is to hold your Bitcoin, allowing these services is reducing your power if controlling your Bitcoin because all these are related to centralization and the main aim of holding Bitcoin is to have a decentralized investment for the future. Staking can make you lose your Bitcoin because it will involve theirs party, but for using Bitcoin for payments it is your choice, you can decide to use it that’s what you have but don’t expect that it will trigger adoption.
Bitcoin had already gotten the name it deserve in this world, no need of further hype, just buy and hold.

What do you think will be the biggest use case for BTC beyond simply holding it?
I may be wrong, but I think this is the kind of topics that may results to spam around here. Bitcoin is money but in digital form with a unique property of decentralisation. Now, if I ask you what would be the biggest use case of dollar beyond what its used for, I am expecting any useful reply from anyone? Money is money, be it digital or not. The use cases are already established in my opinion.
Bitcoin is not the dollar, they're different in nature. Dollar is government owned/issued and unlimited in supply while bitcoin is a limited, decentralized global asset. The use cases of bitcoin is still unfolding and have not been totally established because as bitcoin continues to progress and grow, more use cases for it unfolds, we've seen various use cases unfold as it propagates, of which the most recent is using it as collateral for loans/other financing purposes.

OP what I consider the biggest use case for bitcoin has already been established which is the permissionless, borderless transfer and ownership of value. Other use cases take its relevance from the established facts above.

I personally think that bitcoin needs to be hype, it is because of the hype that someone of us became interested in investing in bitcoin. Hype can attracts more people to invest in bitcoin, and whatever people say to hype bitcoin is because it is worth it.

There are some newly launched altcoins that are hyped just to attract investors to buy the coin but they aren't worth it. The hypes is a trap and once you fall for it, you money might be gone. Bitcoin hype isn't just to promote bitcoin so that more people will invest, it is actually worth it.

Hey man, Bitcoin has crossed that stage. It doesn't need any hype and moreover, it's not one of those low value coins in the market. Let me ask you a question. Do you need to hype gold before people will buy and invest in it? Only at the mention of gold you already know we are talking about quality and value, so it is for bitcoin also. In the past when bitcoin hasn't gotten this so much awareness, people were being persuaded to invest in it and most people didn't take it seriously but it has now grown to a level that most people who would have afforded 1 bitcoin about 10 years ago cannot be able to afford it now. What I'm saying is that a good asset markets itself to the public. Bitcoin doesn't need any hype or promotions anymore. Just one positive news about bitcoin you will see everyone rushing to buy it and hold.

Those altcoins that received a lot of hype in the past where are they in the market now, are there many people still investing in them? Bitcoin doesn't need all that hype because it's not a pump and dump coin that will just skyrocket at a blink and starts falling.

There will be hypes about gold and Bitcoin but both Bitcoin and gold have reached to matured phase so that communities will make hypes. It's different with altcoin projects, scam projects which have to do marketing, create hypes in order to scam victims.

Clearly, Bitcoin has communities to do that, and Bitcoin does not need to scam anyone.

Even there are companies and Ponzi projects that try to use Bitcoin as part of their advertisements for Ponzi scams, it does not make Bitcoin as a Ponzi, and does not turn Bitcoin to a scam coin.

I think we should separate bitcoin itself from the people or companies using the name for scams cause have almost been scammed when I was first introduced to bitcoin and I know how it feels and till date I believe so many people are still being scammed through various platforms and bitcoin can be hyped like any other asset, but the hype most people have been scammed through most of this hype anf I can relate to that so to me I think the most  important thing is to understand what you are buying and not blindly follow the hype around just because someone is using the Bitcoin name.

Snip.

At this point in time in the history of Bitcoin, I don't think that we should be talking about hyping Bitcoin. Bitcoin has moved beyond hyping Bitcoin is now in a new dimension and level that anyone who is still concerned about hyping Bitcoin will be taken for another thing else by people. It was in the early days of Bitcoin introductions that Bitcoin enthusiasts were concerned about hyping and promoting Bitcoin it's no longer necessary at this point in time.

Bitcoin has past different through different stages, now we are talking about institutional adoption. That is to tell you were and how Bitcoin has developed and gotten to as a technology. What Bitcoin needs is people who are interested in adoption and Long term holding because, when it comes to Bitcoin we have gone pass that awareness stage.
