Questions about Casino coins

Rollbit and Betfury are both casinos. I know about their token back then, and the Rollbit token seems to be more popular and used than the Betfury token, but they are not tokens I can start chasing because their purpose is only limited to the casino.

I don’t think it’s worth much to invest in them unless one is buying it because of the bonus offer holding. Aside from that, I don’t consider any casino worth buying and holding.

I feel like it’s definitely not worth of an investment coin, I think if anything it’s more of a convenience for casino members that want to pay less on transaction fees and that sort of thing. Maybe some of the betting is also like stretched further so to speak if you bet using that casinos token although I’m not so sure.

Crypto casinos have taken that place. Everything is being updated with time. Currently, crypto casinos have been launched where you can gamble using different cryptos or dollars.

Old casinos are reducing their reliance on their own tokens as casinos are evolving to be multi-coin enabled and can gamble using coins as per the expectations of gamblers.

I have reduced my reliance on casino coins these days because alternative coins are being easily deposited and used.

With regards to Rollbit token, it gained traction back a few years ago because of the buyback-and-burn mechanics that they did. However, the use case of the token is specifically around the website alone, and the value of it is heavily tied to how many players are playing on the website. Low traffic = value of token goes down hence the one that you said that while other altcoins are going up, casino coins remained stagnant or went down in price.

Why other casinos haven't build their own coin? There might be many reasons, but I think the 2 things that comes to my mind is:
- strict government regulation, and
- they don't see any benefits from it.
Stake became popular without any token on it. Duelbits had the same experience, and I can list many popular gambling websites out there that didn't have any coins at all. It's not whether we like or hate casino coins. It's just that, casino owners don't see any benefit of creating one, and the possible benefits that they could reap isn't enough to cover the possible stress that they could get by maintaining it. In addition due to strict regulation on crypto gambling and token issuance in many country, platform have reduced promoting token.

I noticed Rollbit token is no more or not listed on exchanges than Uniswap. So it could be because of strict regulations. I noticed the coin did not really fall from all-time high like other altcoins that will almost dropped in price and value. But if the coin is not selling on many exchanges, this is enough to discourage some people from buying it.

All I know is that Shuffle tokens are listed on the exchange XT.com we also don't know how strict these exchanges are, most casino tokens are on DEX for trading.

It could be that the reason why the Exchange does not want to list casino tokens is like money laundering, low liquidity and the utility of tokens that are only useful to casinos and games is nothing more than that.

So casino tokens will not match the investment, unless your profits are playing on the casino itself.

99% of casino token went rugged in the past. So people feel skepticism about that, and they abandoned it. I see no purpose for a casino to issue a token beside using it for the loyalty purpose to its users, which is not really profitable to hold in long term.
There might be some reliable tokens exist, but most of it dumped to the ground until it's vanished from the market. It was built bad image for casino token, which is making people being careless the existence of it.

I know the tokens like shuffle and rollbit should get exceptional, but these tokens are no more than pump and dump tokens.

Well, 99 percent of meme coins and meme tokens have also been rugged in the past, but there seems to be still people who pay attention to them because of the resemblance it has to gambling...
I believe people just decided to move from casino tokens because they realized they were dealing with something very similar to securities or shares of a company which was pretty much unregulated and there were no warranties for those who decided to hold those tokens in the first place.

People will be get attracted to meme coins nowadays, but it seems it got different in the case of casino tokens and coins issued by casinos.

I'll take Pons as an example. Anyone who bought this when it was only 10k - 100k FDV is already a millionaire right now because i's currently trading at 260m FDV, and peaked at 500m FDV. In term of fairness, meme offered you a fair launch to buy it from 0 FDV only if you're lucky enough. So it serves more opportunity to becomes rich rather than casino token, though both obviously posses the same risk.

I wouldn’t say I like or hate casino tokens,I only consider the casino as a space where I play games and not to buy their tokens.One of the major reason why I don’t wouldn’t consider casino tokens as my thing is the fact that they are highly speculative and they are backed up by hype.It’s better I stick to bitcoin and bitcoin alone and the casino would only be for wagering.But there are also things to be considered before buying those casino tokens,first I would say have you checked the reputation of the casino?don’t you know that if the casino stops functioning the token would also pause,then again another thing to consider is the utility of the token,you should ask yourself if the token can be used beyond the casino ecosystem.Lastly,I would suggest every gambler interested in purchasing a casino tokens to consider the pros and cons before buying any.

That is the fact when it comes to comes to, Casino tokens , what is keeping them up is the massive speculation that the casino will do just to keep them up which is the hype we are talking about. Apart from that there is nothing special about tokens which these casinos are trying to make people have. I don't know why these casinos are still trying to bring back these token because, the hype around them died down people lost interest in altcoins some time ago when people lost alot of money trying to mine different altcoins and later found out that it was later due to hype and nothing more. You can use your normal crypto currencies Bitcoin and Altcoins to gamble but not tokens that are been provided by casinos.

if you mean casino-issued crypto coins, i’d look at what the token actually does before buying or using one. some are just in-platform credits, while others are tradable tokens with much more price risk. vega is another platform to compare, but don’t assume every casino token has real value.

meme coins are a trap, my advice, also due to the fact that we are on bitcoin talk and not on meme talk, is to keep bitcoin.
ok use the memes, use the casino coins but don't keep them, because in the long run they will be worth rubbish.

It seems to me that the use cases for these tokens are quite limited, and I have doubts that a player community can be strong enough to support a token. Gamblers are too unpredictable, today you’re winning and everything is going well, but tomorrow you start losing and you don’t even go back to that casino anymore. So I would probably rather buy a few tokens from some leading exchanges than consider buying casino tokens.

I think that they are no longer talking about them again because they are not useful outside their gambling platforms, especially now that they are no longer listed in an exchange like before. So i just guess that it was the main reason they went out of fashion.

I don't actually know of others, but personally I no longer look in that direction since they are not useful elsewhere.

How useful is it to those that have it?
Because if they are going to spend a lot of money to bring that to reality,  they need to be sure that they are putting their money in the right place, but since those that have it are not getting anything special from it, it would not encourage others to do the same.

I don't hate or like them, because I have no benefits hating or liking them. Before now I only sees them as a shit coin, so my perception about them will not change anytime soon.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve observed about these casino tokens, just like most other altcoins, they’re mostly moved by market hype and the tokens are heavily dependent on speculation. The moment that the excitement fades, there just may not be enough demand or utility again to keep pushing the token. It’s very possible for any casino to create their token, but where the real challenge lies is giving people a real reason to encourage them to hold it rather than just using the token for speculation.

I will tell you what has gone wrong with casino tokens - trend on altcoins has gone. Casinos never really cared about their tokens, because they almost have no use case. Take a look on price chart of any casino token and you will see diagonal that is going down to 0. That is the answer for your question. Who would buy something if you cant do anything with it and its value is only going down. I have said many times, casinos should focus on gambling, and not on tokens. They should do what they originally were created for.

Shuffle's token still leads the casino token market, followed by Rollbit's token in second place by market cap here:

Rollbit has buyback and burn, meanwhile Shuffle combines burns with rewards. I think that's why Shuffle's token looks more interesting.

Like or hate? It depends on the benefits offered by the tokens.

I think it's too risky for a casino to launch its own token before they have a strong brand and big user base. If their token dumps hard, it will badly harm the casino as a brand. IMO, a casino needs to have a clear business model that has generated solid revenue first.

Users and holders need reasons why they have to buy and hold the tokens. If the benefits are only to get in-game rewards like free spins, more bonuses, etc., then I think the market is really limited and segmented to only the users of the casino.

Buyback-burn and rewards look like good reasons for people to buy and hold the tokens. With this strategy, even non-casino users may consider investing in it because there's a possibility the token price will rise due to buyback-burn from the revenue of the casino. The rewards are also good, especially if they come like dividends.

I own a small amount of BFG coins from the BetFury casino. Staking them used to earn me a small amount of top crypto coins, which I was able to withdraw and sell. But that was a long time ago. Now staking or holding casino coins is a pointless thing to do. They keep falling in price, and buying them is only worth it for the casino bonuses. Right now, all casino tokens are garbage. Buying them will only bring you disappointment.

This is your experience on just one token. You shouldn't then classify all other token based on your experience on one token. The OP made mention of RollBit doing well in their token. You can ease on your experience and don't blame all other tokens for the failure of just one token.  Be open minded. Even as the OP talked about RollBit, it still doesn't mean every other token will now do well. Just saying.

OP did mention the Rollbit token, but he also asked about other casino tokens. Rollbit had strong growth in 2024, but since then it hasn't shown any significant price growth. If you look at other casino tokens, not just BFG but also FUN, TGC, WINR, and many other lesser-known casino tokens, you'll see that their prices keep falling and they don't bring any profit to their holders.

So the Rollbit story is a case of survivorship bias. Just because one casino token performed well doesn't mean the others will. And even if you buy Rollbit now, there's no guarantee that it will be profitable in the future.

I agree with your main point that viewing casino token as standard investment coin is risky. However use of RLB is currently not limited to casino alone so describing it in that manner would not be entirely accurate. I could see RLB is still actively traded on Uniswap and Rollbit use its revenue to buy back and burn token. So for me actual question are whether there is any external utility and how sustainable the token's value accrual mechanism is.
