The eight casino's that would be affected where listed in the report so you could check to see if your favorite casino(s) as the case may be was or were affected by this.
Several reasons for the permanent close up of these casino were cited.

This is going to take away the fun gamers get from those casinos and also jobs of workers of these casinos.

They are all casinos that are built around Washington, I think the days of located casinos is fading away because of howamy gamblers are now going after online casinos.

I am not saying this is why they are closing down but I am talking because of what happened to few gamblers I know, they used to visit betting stores nearby but all of a sudden they have all moved into online gambling.

In fact, I am even more convinced that gamblers there will use online gambling as an alternative. But what I am thinking about is the impact on the employees who will lose their jobs. If your competitor is getting a big slice of the market and you cannot keep up, then investors have no choice but to cut their losses and close their casinos.

There's no problem with gamblers because they still have other casinos to play, but expect to have new casinos coming up in the future because the market is always there.

If the casino has listed its platform in a marketplace where bankrupt casino/business can be listed for sale, it will be better for the team.

There will be investors who will be willing to buy them if they try.

It's not as easy as you make it, there would need to be vacancies before other online casino start employing, there is already some bit of employment issues, so those who would lose their jobs this period may have to fall in line with those who are willing and and doing have any job before now.
And again it's not such a similar role between offline casino workers and online, if you lose your offline role you can't just transcend to online using your offline skills, that's not how it works.

This is what I am thinking, that you are talking about offline casinos earlier but what he said there are online ones. But this is only 8 of I think the many that are still left. So those employees still has chance to transfer on the other offline casinos. Applying and getting hired may also not be hard, as they already have an experience on the same field. Given earlier that there may still be plenty of offline casinos left, offline casinos can continue getting a demand (players).

It is not easy to immediately switch to online, especially if this is where you grew up with. If it happens that an offline casino will have a branch online or transfer online because they got busted out offline, they can always retain the same employees just to cut the hassle.

A lot of people are just saying it's a sad news since those that works with the casinos will become jobless but I don't see it that way because if a casino goes bankrupt and shutdown, it is mostly an avenue for a new casino to emerge. What this means is that some of those who became jobless after the closure of the former casino they work with will have to apply to work with new casinos and of course it is easier for them to get a job in another casino since they will ask for work experience and they will also want to employ people that have knowledge in casino games so it's not totally a sad news for them.

Starting up your own personal casino business is not actually that difficult, if you have the funds all you need is for someone to build your site for you. The major thing when it comes to casino business is funds, when you have the funds believe me you are good, so I believe investors were not interested. Sad one, its got it's bad side and the good side too. For the gamblers, their fun and escape from reality and lucky chance will be gone by the closing of these casinos. Jobs indeed will be lost, there may be a very trace effect on the economy of that area as some persons does benefit from the presence of those casinos in that area. The owners of the casino too are going to loose out on a source of income, but i believe they would have made enough money to get them started on other things.

A good aspect of this is the reduction in the addiction risk it may have posed on some of the gamblers who visits such casino before their closure of the casino. Gambling addiction may reduce in that area since there will be very limited Casino to attend to the addiction of some gamblers, they may just rather choose to quit since they have very limited access to gambling.

I am not from Washington and not living there and it is not concerning the gambling sites on this forum as they are not affected. I think if the gambling sites on this forum is not affected by not being part of the 8 casinos, it is nothing to be worried about.

You have a point but when it comes to the online aspect of this which might technically seem as the same thing they do offline it may require some level of training. Mind you, these workers have some experience when it comes to dealing with customers but it doesn't make all of them qualified to be hired by online casinos. We are concerned about the closing and not necessarily what caused the closing. Few things that can caused casino to close

1. Debt: when a casinos borrows way more money than it can originally pay it can run into debt. I am not implying debt is bad. If more profit are made, then the debt can be managed, but when there is none to no profit at all, that's where the issue comes in.


2. Competition: when your rivals are up and down trying to win customers and you can't keep up. Definitely, you will feel close up if you can't meet up.


3. Regulations body from the government: this also can go as far as putting casinos out of business when they only offer same game over and over again. If casinos don't come up with an idea that is still in line with the registration, then they will run out of business.


4. Lack of profit: I think this one is major factor for business to close down. Not only casinos.

850 people will lose their source of income, and 850 unemployed people joined the number of the already unemployed in the state; this is just the reality of life. they will start job hunting and most of them will fix their self somewhere while others might use the opportunity to start up something.

Hmm. I think there are reasons why they would choose to do that. IMO, it would affect taxes. Revenue might change because of this. I usually see casinos near restaurants, hotels, etc and they might be affected by it.

Yes, this is bad news for both local player and worker. However I don't view this merely as incident where eight casino are shutting down. Several thing have converged here, including Maverick Gaming’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy and pressure on their business model. situation has arisen from combination of competition from tribal casino, debt and financial pressure and operating cost.

Also, I dont like to label them as permanently closed just yet. While closure is scheduled for November 30, Maverick’s notice indicate that if any new owner or operator step in during bankruptcy proceeding then closure of certain property might be averted or delayed.

The operational requirements is changing and becoming expensive for the low income casinos and surviving the market pressure becomes an impossible thing to do, problem ranging from recent regulatory requirements and taxes3have forced alot of them into bankruptcy and the inability to get another operator will definitely forced them to close down their operations.

I think this shutdown is one of the major effects of online gambling.  People who love the convenience of their home and love gambling will just access online platform and enjoy their gambling engagement.

Same also applies to me, I'm only familiar with chips gambling casino of all the eight that we are listed, I'm not the type of Gambler that always like using so many casinos to gamble, I only maintain the few ones I normally consider for using over the time.

It's a pity that this gambling casino's are going to shut down, but I'm pretty much sure that not all their users will be well informed of this incidence until the finally got affected and have no remedy, I also appreciate the fact that pasding across this information will save some other users to take action as necessary.
