This is not a good news at all and it going to make so many workers jobless except new casinos are going to be created in due time. Those that have been working for these casinos that will be closing soon are not going to be happy and some of them will be losing their source of income in due time, mostly for those that don't have any other work apart from the remote job they are handling for these casinos. Most of the players using the casinos would have to look for another casino they will be using as replacement.
That is why it is good for people to be splitting there income into something that will give them profit or good return even though the one they considered as main source of income is not longer giving them... for a period of time. But I believe they have been surviving before they even started working for those Casinos and I also believe that there are people who don't depend solely on these casinos works which means they have other small side hustle and these are the folks it won't affect much.

From this report https://x.com/SEATTLESUBMISS/status/2106130425328660835 8 casino in the Washington area are about to close up next month ending, not really a good story for casino lovers in the Washington area. The eight casino's that would be affected where listed in the report so you could check to see if your favorite casino(s) as the case may be was or were affected by this. Several reasons for the permanent close up of these casino were cited. This is going to take away the fun gamers get from those casinos and also jobs of workers of these casinos. So, you’re talking about offline casinos here. I’m not at all surprised that they are closing; after all, in the digital age, anyone can place bets from their smartphone while lying on the couch. Why drag yourself to a physical casino? Sure, offline casinos offer a different vibe and a unique emotional experience, but I still think this type of casino is gradually going to die out - humans are lazy creatures, and we’re already deeply immersed in the "pleasures" of online gambling. That tweet mentioned tribal casinos, which have supposedly proven to be the most competitive (perhaps due to lower operating costs and labor expenses?). Still, I believe that’s only part of the story; the real reason lies with online casinos, which are siphoning off the vast majority of the audience from brick-and-mortar venues.

It's not as easy as you make it, there would need to be vacancies before other online casino start employing, there is already some bit of employment issues
This is true, but casinos are emerging everyday, but mostly online casinos. Maybe those that can already adapt to online casinos would be immediately employable. Again it's not a must they would hire out their services to casinos, if they have basic skills they can still work in other niches as secretaries, marketers or customer service representatives depending on their specializations. And again it's not such a similar role between offline casino workers and online, if you lose your offline role you can't just transcend to online using your offline skills, that's not how it works.
They already have the experience and that matters more, what's remaining is to learn the tools which they can get acquainted to during internship. It's not that difficult to learn. A good customer service personnel for an offline casino who already knows how to attend to clients and escalate complaints when necessary wouldn't find it much harder to use Zendesk or HubSpot unless they're really that much old school.

When a casino closes, the jobs of the people working there may be lost but it is not considered normal employment. Many times more families than the number of employees who earn a living in the casino are destroyed by gambling in one night, It is a bit like lamenting the loss of jobs of employees of an adulterated drug factory when it closes. A business whose entire structure is built on the financial ruin and addiction of people can never be called a healthy workplace. Therefore even if some people are employed there, the closure of casinos is always positive for the economic security of the general public in society. However it is true that those who are addicted will switch to other casinos.
In countries that legalize gambling, you cannot compare casinos to counterfeit drug factories. Workers in casinos are the same as workers in factories or other industries. The number of workers who lose their jobs due to the closure of these casinos is quite large. This may also be related to competition with other casinos or online casinos. But it could also be related to tax pressure that may already be quite high.

this comparison makes no sense, games are games and they cannot be counterfeited. at most they are copied and that's fine, it's not illegal to copy, our whole world is based on copying and improving what others have done, so i wouldn't say it's a counterfeit copy, but a copy at most. With drugs it's different and the comparison makes no sense.

Laws can change, casinos can get squeezed out by larger players, can go bankrupt etc etc. Sort of like a big sport, where you must always be ready that your career ends with due to an injury or something. Always have to have a plan B for your career.

That is a big amount of casinos to close all in one go, but the one thing that they seem to miss from their list is the competition from online casinos. It's only in recent years the the gambling industry had a lot more freedom in America when talking about online betting and particularly sports betting. That has given people a new way to spend their money without even leaving their home and is probably considered a more interesting way to gamble than endlessly feeding money into slot machines. There will be some jobs lost but there are probably plenty of other casinos in the area who customers can use. Sometimes these casino companies can just be badly run and the economics don't make sense with all the costs uncontrolled and it not generating enough profits from the customer base.

I am not discussing building a career, but more about the status of casino workers which cannot be judged from their negative traits. After all, they are workers, and of course, there is no job or career without the risk of losing it. Even a boss can lose their business, let alone just an employee. What needs to be considered is the reason why a business eventually closes. Is it due to market competition, or legal regulations?

The sad part here is the number of employees who will be out of a job. I really wish that it were a switch to online gambling because somehow they could still absorb some of the employees for computer jobs and other employees who are necessary in their office where the website is running.
Anyway, some are declaring bankruptcy, so I am guessing that physical casinos are having trouble finding new customers. Well, I think it's not just Washington. I bet many other states are probably feeling this problem.
So, as gambling companies are very unpredictable for gamblers, it is the same for the workers and the owners. It shouldn't just be one source of income that their workers rely on, and this also goes for owners because anything can happen at any time. A new government can bring a new policy that may not favor your company, and there can be an external attack. If this happens, it can badly affect those who rely so much on it as their only source of income. Many gambling companies that do not exist today never knew they would no longer be around.

I am not familiar with the eight casino platforms mentioned in the source link you provided. This is the first time I have heard or seen the names of these eight casino platforms. The casino platform I use is very popular and has a good reputation in the Bitcoin forum. However, there may be many reasons for the closure of these eight casino platforms, all of which I may not know, but I think that these platforms are not officially registered and they may be closed due to various irregularities.

Casinos and exchange have been shutting their doors lately. I think the prolonged Bitcoin drawdown and the effect on the overall market squeezed some operations and cause them to close down. This is something we see near the bottom of bear markets and while it is a shame, the weak need to clear out to make room for the strong.

Whatever be the reasons, what's most important is that there are persons who have just lost their jobs, gamblers who may have lost their favorite platform and have to look for a replacement, and more power to the competition who are still in business and now have to absorb new gamblers and maybe some workers.

It seems like offline casinos have significantly higher operating costs than online casinos. So, I think that is a major reason for this case, right ? Also, I always thought that offline casinos were always busy with players, but this news has made me wonder if that is not always true, and maybe online casinos are the main competition for them.

I think the closure of those casinos in the United States is just further proof people are moving from brick and mortar casinos to online crypto casinos, which can be easily accessed through one's phone. At this point, the youngest people who are allowed to gamble are stumbling upon advertising on their social media feed which redirect them to Rainbet, Shuffle and other casinos which are heavily investing in influencers and normal Instagram /Twitter users with a decent number of followers.
If those brick and mortar casinos want to survive, then they will need to open their own online versions and offer a crypto experience for a worldwide audience.

The only casino I have actually seen is Chips casino and I think it was on this forum or on social media i really can’t remember. They said about 850 workers will be affected and that’s a sad one too.
It's not the chips that had appeared on the forum before, I think you are talking about chips.gg. The post on X doesn't show logo though, to check out if it's the real chips.gg that had been here or another one. I haven't seen or heard any of the casinos though, they are strange to me and I don't think they are crypto casinos with crypto deposits and withdrawals.

Most people now prefers to gamble online for small amounts and to have fun privately. The ones visit physical casinos too want to visit on dedicated casino cities to have an experience than a local casino, many even prefer going overseas. Las Vegas, Macau, Monte Carlo, Singapore, cities like that may still have casino tourism and profiting casinos but local casinos specially in the US would going to have a hard time ahead.

This is a shocking news to casino workers in Washington and also to gamblers who are really using these platforms for their own gambling. When casino platform shutdown many people are really affected, not only the casino company, but the country, the workers, and also the gamblers. In the case of the country, revenue generated from these casino sites will no longer be there, the gamblers will also miss their favourite casino platforms, and some might find it difficult to identify another favourable gambling platform. Sometimes casino sites can go bankrupt, and unable to to maintain their workers, and this might cause them to place their workers on redundancy. There are also many new casinos coming up in recent time, and competition has reduced the customers of some casino platform making them to loose customers, and not functioning very effectively. Today there are many online casinos which are not even licensed attracting the interest of many gamblers from the duly licensed casinos.

The owners are battling with Bankrupcy and they have to close to curtail expenses, although I found this clause that might keep the site on or delay it's closure ...
Bankruptsy? That's not something new for a casino, well, for online casinos, it's rare. For physical ones, its yes. I heard lots of casinos filed bankruptsy because of the operation expenses, this happened if they just lacks marketing effort, or simply failing to attract enough customers. Well, some land based caisnos also struggle when they fail to adapt to changes in the industry, including the shift toward online gambling/casino.

This is going to take away the fun gamers get from those casinos and also jobs of workers of these casinos.
There are plenty of online casinos who will be willing to hire those experienced professionals. Especially since the gamblers will probably migrate to online from those as well - more workforce will be needed. Offline casinos are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. I agree, every gambler are becoming more aware of the fact that they can actually make their gambling experience a lot more easier if they focused more on online gambling, this gives more convenience and it is slowly taking away the relevance of land based casinos. It would take more than just working in a land based casino to be considered as an expert to work in an online casino, a little bit of tech skills is needed.
