Smart people in the house how did you all bypass the habit of copy pasting wallet addresses?
Is there any whitelist method where you just copy paste it? Is there any offline methods?
Drop your own copy pasting strategy where dust txns won't reach?
The only method I still have is using wallet to scan barcode. I find it stressful at times, what about you?

The best way to copy securely is to ensure your device is not compromised with clipboard hijackers or any other malware. With this, you're sure the address you copied is the one you pasted on the other end. Always double check the addresses before confirming them, not just the last 3 characters but the entire thing, both side by side, to ensure there are no changes.
If you do not want to copy them at all, scanning a qr code is your only option I think.

Drop your own copy pasting strategy where dust txns won't reach?
Before I share my idea on how to safely copy and paste your Bitcoin address to make your transaction, first ensure that you don't have copy-and-paste malware on your system, because the targeted address could be copied and exchanged with another one. Don't copy an address from your transaction history if you are not that experience in it, go straight to your wallet address and copy and ensure that you paste accordingly without any omission or alteration address you copied, additionally you can choose to verify your copied address is the same as the one you have pasted. Lastly, don't expose your wallet address to the public to avoid address poisoning when random people begin to copy your address to send you those transactions, and you may mistake them for your intended address if you go through your history to copy the address you wanted to send coins to.

If you've dusts in the wallet, it's best to use addresses that doesn't have them or you will use coin control to select UTXO sets next time you're spending from the address. If you do not want to copy them at all, scanning a qr code is your only option I think.
Scanning QR code works well if it's a different device, I'm not sure there's a way around it with same device. I actually prefer scanning QR codes than copying and pasting. It's more stress free and more accurate. Though you must always make it a habit to confirm very well before proceeding.

How stressful can it be, if it actually helps keep you secured then just a very tiny stress is actually nothing to worry about if you ask me. First in security you don't consider stress as a priority especially when in reality it isn't that much of a stress, I consider scanning barcode safe, also if you are not the easily distracted person and you always pay attention to detail with some security checks copy and paste works fine.

If your wallet supports Qrcode[most wallet should anyway]..you can choose that over manual copy and paste, but you still have to learn the habit of verifying before trusting everything is fine… Verify the details once or twice again before hitting the sign or send button, it doesn’t take up to an hour . The qrcode isn’t immune, they can be manipulated or replaced from receiving wallet device [initiator], if it is infected but they are generally safer than the manual copy and paste

Drop your own copy pasting strategy where dust txns won't reach?
Bro one of the easiest way to dodge out all this copy and paste of a thing stress is to just use the Address Book feature on your wallet/exchange or even whitelist. All you just need to do is to save the address instantly, well confirmed and you then lock it , so next time you just have to select it from options, haves the stress of copying anything. You don’t need to copy anything again. But also if you must have to copy and paste. Here is a real trick, all you need to do is to stop checking the last and first four letters. This are what scammers are aware of already, they knows that me and you are lazy. So all they do is to use a bots to generate a fake address that is looking just exactly like yours, using the first and last four digit of your own address. So for you to think fast ahead of them you need to also check out your middle characters. And also for those that do use a hardware wallet. You should do well by avoiding what your phone or computer is showing you on screen. You should do well by trusting and confirming only the address that is displaying on your physical device before going ahead to approve anything. Just as easy at that.

Exactly, i was about saying neither of the two methods is completely safe from attack. The best way is what has already being said here. Always verify the complete address after you copy it from deposit address and not from your transaction history before you confirm the transaction. I shared a video few days back on my LB about a user that the Binance exchange was changing his deposits addresses without the user knowledge and that was how he ended up sending money to a wrong address. If only he had paid attention he might not have being the victim of that malware attack. Paying attention to details when it come to copy pasting addresses cannot be overlooked.

Br careful of dust attack and address poisoning. Make sure that you check and recheck the address you are sending to by making sure it us correct.
Be careful of malware generally. Learn how to avoid malware. Use cold storage for high amount of money. Always be careful of malware both on cokd and hot wallet.

Is there any whitelist method where you just copy paste it? Is there any offline methods? --- I find it stressful at times, what about you?
CTRL+C then CTRL+V. I guess that's how we can copy and paste on a computer right? Most of the investors are doing it that way, and that includes me. However, I've added this whenever I send coins where I'm checking every single character of the address to make sure that it's correct. When I say every single character, I mean every single letter and number out there, and yes, I know for some the might confuse themselves because of those uppercase and lowercase letters aside from the fact that there are some numbers out there, but it works for me, and so does for the majority who are doing it. QR codes work, but they aren't immune just like what the above post was said, so for me, looking every single character for me is the safest way. LAZY?? Trust me. Being lazy could cause you thousands and even millions so f*ck the laziness.

I think 99/100 all use copy and paste, only a few make use of QR codes. Don't always trust your keyboard, I don't mind spending time manually checking each character of the address before sending. Lastly, don't expose your wallet address to the public to avoid address poisoning when random people begin to copy your address to send you those transactions, and you may mistake them for your intended address if you go through your history to copy the address you wanted to send coins to.
Is the forum not public, we all have our addresses posted on campaign threads, that's public enough.

Someone who have confidence that their device isn't compromised with clipboard hijack can just copy paste because they were already sure and that's when the bad event will take place, assets sent and gone. I think it's better to never believe that your device is safe, when it's time to make transactions always take your time to cross check the addresses over and over again, it's your money and you need to be responsible with it. I don't feel like it's alot of work to keep cross-checking addresses every time you want to, if you don't want to lose money this is a responsibility as per your hardware earned money, it's not something to play with.

Scanning the QR code is the best, you will capture the right address and to send to, and you still need to confirm before sending it even though the chance of having the wrong address if you scan the code is slim, that is why it is the best method to have safe transaction. If you can’t scam, the only way to be safe using copy and paste is to make sure you double check the wallet. Since written down the wallet manually can be stressful, and time wasting, and you can easily make some mistakes, you can just copy and paste it, but take your time to double check it to be sure every alphabet or word is correct before sending.

Being lazy could cause you thousands and even millions so f*ck the laziness. Looking at every single character will consume some extra time and slow your pace of completing the transaction, but in that extra moment taking to complete a transaction, it can just be what saves you from sending to a wrong address even if not in the first time you are making a transaction, but it can save you someday from sending to a wrong address because you have the habit of not making transactions in a rush. Learning to scan QR codes alone can stimulate you to make transactions quickly without trying to verify the address from the QR codes still, and it is not so good. In terms of safety, the good thing to do is to verify by using your eyes as already said.

With such questions, you will have interest in reading these threads. How to lose your Bitcoins with CTRL-C CTRL-VHow is sending bitcoin through a QR-code safe ?Most important, with anything you are unsure, do a first transaction with very small fund as a test. If a small fund test is completed well, you can do next transactions with bigger values. Test is important. If there is something wrong, and your computer, device is compromised, even a small fund will be stolen quickly because hackers do that with automatic tools.

Mate, don't overcomplicate a process that is actually simple. Manually copy-pasting securely or scanning the barcode (and double-checking) takes less than a minute. What is stressing you out? Or do you mean copying something more sensitive, like a seed phrase or something similar? -snip- Drop your own copy pasting strategy where dust txns won't reach?
Could you explain in more detail what you mean by this? what wallet are you using?

I will make a testing transaction with a label for that sending address, and after it is done well, I will make my main transaction, even can consider to split it to two or three transactions by clicking on the address book, find the address with label.
Then I will double check the address character with the address I will send my bitcoin to, it's only double check.
After checking everything, and remember that after my first testing transaction was finished well, I will broadcast that main transaction. If I split the main transaction to 2 or 3 smaller ones, I am sure that if a second transaction completed well, my computer is good to use, and remaining transactions will have no problems.

My strategy is very simple. I don't need any fancy apps or antimalware protection. I simply copy paste the address and manually check the full address letter by letter. I double check the address manually and only then initiate a payment. This simple way allows me to make transactions in ease without having to bother about any clipboard malware.

Clipboard highjackers are a real thing and can present a clear danger but as long as you do not use the same device for your financial transactions as well as surfing the web and picking up viruses randomly. And even then I still quadruple check the addresses. Everytime. As long as you stay vigilant you should be fine.

I use Trezor so I just always make sure the address shown on its screen is the one I copied. Thus, I do a normal copy+paste.
For what it's worth, I've never seen a different addess on the screen so far (and that's about 10 years in crypto) although I know there could be both software mistake of not copying it and a malware that changes the address in the buffer. Still, just checking the screen before singing a tx was always a 100% guarantee and I never felt the need to apply further security measures.
