shit happens, but when shit keeps happening with the same company its beyond negligence. i mean, the ones behind this were preparing to do this for months. if ledger had been doing secret shopper tests monthly for all their authorized third party sellers, they would have caught this way earlier and minimized the damage.
But as what I know, they don't have that secret shopper thing.
i don't think they do either, otherwise something like this would not have been allowed to get so far.
they are arrogant, and their arrogance is going to lead to their downfall, and unfortunately a lot of their fanboys are going to lose a shit ton of money in the process.
But what you say is really good suggestion, because somehow it can give them an idea if the device sold still in good shape and not same thing today which is tampered.
exactly. and this is not just a ledger thing, every other hardware wallet should have a process to anonymously buy devices sold by authorized third party sellers worldwide and check them for tampering.
and they need to have better legal measures in place as well, because how can a company they supply be allowed to be sold to who knows who, and that not be disclosed to them? it's fucking insane.
i hope both CryptoBilis and ledger get fucking sued, maybe that will get their head out of their ass.
Their South East Asian counter part just destroy the name official reseller. Then many of those good companies running honest business will get affected with this. Since majority of crypto users will not going to buy a hardware wallet with them anymore, because they might get afraid to buy another tampered wallets.
all authorized hardware wallet resellers are fucked, you would be stupid to buy from one after what happened.
It's not a hardware wallet that any normal person can say is most secure, but it's obviously important to people that their crypto Messiah tells them so and they'll believe it.
