For a course in college, yes. Actually there are uni and colleges doing some. But for lower education like high school, financial literacy subject is the most important. I see its not being learned or taught even on college student, idk why. It's also explain why only very few knows investment. Mostly knows after work graduates or only after experiencing some bad thing, like scammed or what lmao
With my observation why most of the college don't teach there young student about Bitcoin is because, much attention or importance have not been attached to it given more parents the need to enlighten there children more about Bitcoin and how to invest on it as financial freedom at that early age of there life encouraging them to be business oriented from the primary stage of life. The fear that the attention of the children might be diverted from focusing their education to making money.

Rather than making “crypto” part of the educational curriculum, I think it’d be better to teach the Blockchain technology instead.
I agree because it will also cover bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies next but it will be for another subject if it's about holding/investing in crypto.
But with learning blockchain technology, it can also cover another industry which is the information technology where learners gain another skill with it.

Btw, most of the important financial literacy you need to know aren’t taught in school..
This is true, but if they're going to give some background and teachings while their learners are kids.
That's a big help in opening their minds to the real world that it's more than just money and technology, and that will open them to economics and financial education too.

Rather than making “crypto” part of the educational curriculum, I think it’d be better to teach the Blockchain technology instead.

The crypto industry is going to evolve and the most fundamental thing the young generation needs to learn should be “the blockchain” and by teaching them about the technology according to their level of assimilation, they’d learn about cryptocurrencies along the way.

Btw, most of the important financial literacy you need to know aren’t taught in school..

I agree, but I think DLT or Distributed Ledger Technology should be the one put into the educational curriculum.  This way student can identify the difference between cryptocurrencies and the advantages of each DLT technology. From here, they have the option of what to master among the DLT Technologies (it is quite boring if the study is linear).  This way they will have a better understanding of cryptocurrency.

It is also good to put cryptocurrency economics into the curriculum.

Having to teach high school kids how to trade crypto is just recipe for disaster. They don’t need a whole crypto subject, schools just need to tech financial literacy, teaching how money works, inflation and how to spot scams.

And also on the tech side the introduction of basic blockchain in computer class is enough or even DLT. The rest should be for high institute. Smart builders and investors should be what we are trying to raise. Not trades that are looking for quick pumps 😂

If you are referring to Bitcoin, then the governments of countries that have legalized it should add it to the their school curriculum, so that student can understand how it works, its potential benefits and risks, and how to use it responsibly before they start making decisions involving cryptocurrencies. But if you are referring to cryptocurrencies, I don't think they should be added to the school curriculum as a whole because not all cryptocurrencies are worth learning about.

..........
Ew that's mind numbing txt.....!!!

It's too dry to read. Literally I put on my glass to read this.... You should need to just explain it in few points....  However let's jump on the field. The idea of putting crypto in educational curriculum is absolutely amazing like I I am in the favor of this stance. We all should need to teleport our Crypto space knowledge to new generation wether it's in terms of institutional campus or in terms of resource center.

Besides that I will tell you one more thing that we should need to just scattered Crypto and Bitcoin like we should need to only give them a legit click because in my opinion Crypto name is got too notorious like a lot of bullshit just make it degraded and that's why when people heard the name of crypto then simply their mind land on a others Alts.

So crypto and Bitcoin are two different things although it's same ancestry but still different..... Cheesy

Thread like this has already been discussed in the past. But I will still share my own point of view.

In the end, the decision that this crypto should be put in the educational curriculum still relies on how each country's government is dealing with crypto. For some crypto-friendly countries, it could be possible but for countries who are not open with cryptocurrency, and their state is still against with the existence of crypto, putting it in the educational curriculum will be impossible.

The young generation have the right to know more about crypto, but the final decision is not within their hands, but on the present government if they consider having a future with crypto.

If you are referring to bitcoin, definitely this should be a must. Bitcoin will continue to grow in the next possible years and will open more investment opportunities to those who are interested. At least those at a young age should be aware about bitcoin, so they won't only stick with traditional fiat but also consider bitcoin as an alternative currency, and a great investment asset that comes with high risk management and financial discipline.

However, no matter how these young people crave to learn about bitcoin, it depends on the government whether bitcoin will be allow to be taught in schools or it will be another essential tool that will be completely ignored.

We have more than 1000+ cryptocurrency in the world and no one can learn all of them. Only if you are talking about bitcoin because it's only bitcoin that is qualified to be taught in schools since, it is now part of the world. A currency and a long term asset at the same time.

It's only El Salvador that has implemented this since, they are far ahead of other countries on implementing the study of bitcoin by the citizens. Other country government should emulate El Salvador.
I kind of get your point, but the way you said it doesn’t suits it. You didn’t state why you think it’s only bitcoin that is qualified to be taught in school or rather be included in the school curriculum. And I’m not sure if bitcoin has actually become part of the world like you said, just few countries have only made it legally tender. Most nations are really against it being used as a currency self the prefer to view it as an investment asset that is taxable which wasn’t the main idea of Satoshi.
That said, El Salvador is one of the nation that early adopted the bitcoin technology and even the government were in support of it that’s why it was easy for the to have gone this far as regard bitcoin being part of the country’s economy.

As of October 2026, no country recognizes Bitcoin as legal tender anymore. People need to catch up on the news.

That said, El Salvador is one of the nation that early adopted the bitcoin technology and even the government were in support of it that’s why it was easy for the to have gone this far as regard bitcoin being part of the country’s economy.

El Salvador  did not just invest in Bitcoin. It even brought it into the national education curriculum and tried to make it part of the country's economy. But what's the result after 5 years ? The country is still on the brink of bankruptcy , and people's lives have not improved.

A country will never get strong and rich when it's full of speculators or folks who just buy BTC and sit on it waiting for a pump . It needs more scientists, economists ,engineers , finance professionals ...That's what gives a country a real chance to grow and  prosper.

So imo ,  there's  no real benefit to bringing Bitcoin into the education system.

Crypto is already part of the educational curriculum in my country. It is discussed under money and investment. My little niece once came to me for help when she was given an assignment on cryptocurrencies. I don't think children in primary or secondary schools should be burdened with topics on digital wallets, decentralization, and blockchain technology. These children already have so much workload that takes up most of their time.

Maybe college students could be introduced to crypto education if they are interested. They can build a career in some areas of the crypto industry; who knows.

Most conventional schools don't teach financial education. It takes personal learning and experience to build money management skills. So I doubt that the introduction of crypto education would improve the financial decisions of most students.

Snip
Incorporating crypto into the education curriculum would certainly be excellent. This is because the times are fundamentally different now than they were in the past, and understanding crypto is clearly crucial. This is a cutting-edge technology of the present day, and it holds immense potential. Therefore, incorporating it into the education system is clearly excellent.

However, implementing it in the education system requires every school to find teachers who know and understand this subject. I don't think this is easy, especially where I live. There are still very few true experts in cryptography. So, it will definitely be a challenge. But no matter what, I really want to see the current generation of children understand and appreciate cryptography. It's part of this era, and those who don't understand it can clearly be said to be behind the times.

I might want to disagree to your perspective slightly, for kids facing too much work load is some to consider, I don’t want think that we should actually wait until college before deciding to introduce crypto or blockchain concepts to our kids, now you need to understand that the world is faster and kids are already experiencing and getting exposed to what this digital currency actually means, I could tell you for a fact that even my 10 years old son could understand some little online payment, having social media has changed a lot of things and if you don’t not think to teach them in a well structured way scammer or even influencers might want to show them how to get rich in a quicker way….

For now having to teach a primary kid about private keys or about decentralization would be so hard on them, but at some point we could start by some basic concepts like following up grades by grades…thing as “Values of money” or “why is money so important to man?” Or “what is online safety means?” Just we all learn basic knowledge in computer classes….

Well you did made mention of curriculum workload, we already have outdated topics in the syllabus which if you ask I think it time to change such topics like addition of financial literacy and lot more…

I stated that children are already being introduced to crypto when they learn about money. But I am not comfortable with introducing children to more complicated areas of crypto and blockchain technology. There are kids who naturally develop interest in an area. These exceptional children can easily be exposed to complicated concepts.

I don't think we should argue about that because children have been deprived of the happiness, creativity, and freedom of childhood because of the high rate of rigorous academic work in schools and even at home. The issues of outdated workload should be channeled to the government and not me. Maybe you should bring to the notice of the education ministry of your country the need to remove some topics from the curriculum.

You didn't say anything different from my earlier post.

Which cryptocurrencies are you referring to? Aside from Bitcoin, almost all cryptocurrencies should be approached with caution; those lacking financial or investment knowledge should avoid investing in them. In general, however, I agree that it is necessary to include this topic as part of the school curriculum.
Irrespective of the name the aim of this types of threads is to create awareness about the need for governments across the world to see the need for them to see the to include crypto education which Bitcoin is part of, when talking about crypto we should not only limit it only to Bitcoin even though Bitcoin is the most successful crypto which nobody is doubting about it here. This will help the younger generation of people coming who are of school age to pick up interest in crypto currency early, I believe that moves like this will go a long way in helping crypto adoption on the long run.

Only if you are talking about bitcoin because it's only bitcoin that is qualified to be taught in schools since, it is now part of the world. A currency and a long term asset at the same time.

If you study and focus only on what is already famous, widely accepted, and "part of the world," you will always remain a step behind—you will always be a man of yesterday  Tongue
This is very true, I believe that crypto education is one that is evolving, so it's important that we study about crypto currency as a course an introducing it to these young once is very important and key because the young once are the leaders of tomorrow.

I think for sure Crypto should be taught in schools, at least the basics of it before students
go into their college years to potentially specialise in it but I wouldnt expect it to happen in
general terms.

In my country, pre college education does not include financial literacy. Kids are taught about
religion for example waste of time imo but not taught about real world uses
like how pensions and money work for example. So cryptography and blockchain technology
has become very much mainstream so kids should get some degree of enlightenment about it.

Parents wants their children to start thinking towards making money even while they are still in school and if they are informed that by introducing bitcoin to their wards that it is going to expose them to another form of wealth, they are going to buy into the idea of including bitcoin in the school curricular.

The major challenge is that the people that are in charge of our school routine are part of the past generation that don't understand much about bitcoin. because they lack proper understanding, it is going to be hard for them to suggest including bitcoin in the school curriculum. some private schools both high school and colleges have included bitcoin as part of her minor courses, the ones that are yet to catch up with things is mostly the public schools.

Which cryptocurrencies are you referring to? Aside from Bitcoin, almost all cryptocurrencies should be approached with caution; those lacking financial or investment knowledge should avoid investing in them. In general, however, I agree that it is necessary to include this topic as part of the school curriculum.
Exactly, once bitcoin has been recorganized in the national educational curriculum, other cryptocurrencies will automatically be taught in schools so the most important one among all is bitcoin. And before that can be done, the school authorities must have seen the important of bitcoin within their locality and with that they can forward the request with living evidences to be included in the national curriculum.

Giving bitcoin knowledge to pupils from basic educational level like Primary school to University level will propagate the innovation in a good way.

What parent want their kid chasing money while they are still in school by speculating on high risk assets or getting into get rich quick plays like leveraged trading and futures?

I'm a Bitcoin investor and a parent myself, but I wouldn't want that for my kid.

Idk what you guys think, but imo, Bitcoin or any kind of investing has no place in the regular school curriculum. Schools should focus on the basics: core knowledge, critical thinking, practical skills, and basic financial literacy. Don't put the get rich quick mindset into kids' heads or turn them into gamblers at such an early age. That's not how you set them up for the future.

Education can help build a generation that understands cryptocurrency before entering the market. This will help shape the next generation of people know and appriciates what crypto currency is before even ever going into the market, with this the next generation of those going into crypto currency will have an edge, this is very important because it will help students acquire basic knowledge and information through a formal educational setting which will be included in the educational curriculum
It could be useful, but I don't think it's necessary. Bitcoin and this whole industry has spread across the world without being included in any educational curriculum anywhere in the world, and this just happened with the word of the mouth, and nowadays, and more into the future, the world will keep moving more towards digitalization, which means that if our generation could come to know about these things easily, the younger or upcoming generations will easily find out and understand everything about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies considering how sharp the younger generations are when it comes to technology itself.

Even now, social media platforms are all full of cryptocurrency-related discussions and all, people are talking about them everywhere because millions of people are already into cryptocurrencies. Moving into the future, this quantity will only keep increasing, which will make sure that younger generations know and learn about cryptocurrencies comprehensively even if they are not taught to them in their educational institutions. However, as I said, it can be useful if they are taught earlier about the positive and negative aspects of cryptocurrencies and their involvement in them, so that when they grow older, they will have a clear mindset and approach towards them.
