But why are you angry? You chose to cash out because you were scared of losing, right? What if you had waited and one match spoiled the whole bet? Wouldn’t you be wishing you had taken the cash out?
Honestly, I feel some people focus too much on what they could have won instead of appreciating what they actually got.

So tell me, is it greed, or is it just human nature? Why do people get upset over a bet they cashed out successfully, just because they would have won more?

That's usually how human instincts react to situations like this, humans always want to have a total win but when a person only get a small win out of the whole, they can feel disappointed, feeling like a mediocre. So, it's normal to feel that way but a responsible player will still be happy because they have secure a good amount. Personally, I can have that feeling of "why did I cash out so early" But on a second thought, I would still be happy because it's possible that the game would have gone bad. It's just human nature to feel that pain of not being able to hold the game till the end but it's greed to hold till the end and lose all the money assuming the game go bad.

I like cash out, so there's no way I will be seeing $18k cash out and leave it without cashing out.

It is just human nature and also some part of greed in human that time when person cashout so his main priority was risk management like not to take risk and also take some profit but when the matches were won then this person forgets that he was not taking the risk thats why he took this step if he loss only one match then he would have also loss his $4000 so that $18000 cashout was his good step so i think a wise bettor should bee happy on his secured profit not to feel regret after the time passed.

I want to ask something very common about sports betting. Let’s say you stake $4000 to win $30,000, and while the matches are still going on, they offer you $18,000 to cash out. You decide to take it because you don’t want to risk losing everything. Now imagine you cash out and later all the remaining matches win, instead of being happy that you made a good decision and secured your money, you start saying, “Ahh, if I had waited, I would have won $30,000”.

But why are you angry? You chose to cash out because you were scared of losing, right? What if you had waited and one match spoiled the whole bet? Wouldn’t you be wishing you had taken the cash out?

In that situation, I always cash out, but it always makes me angry. Everyone wants more money, especially when they've made the right bet. But 4.5x is good enough to cash out.
P.S. The exception is small bets, where I don't care about the result and just want either the maximum win or nothing.

That's the regret settling in, but at the same time there's nothing wrong with cashing out early. Like you've said, there's always a world where the other legs could've lost and it's like that saying about crying over spilled milk.

There's no need to be that annoyed when the bet could've still gone either way and your emotions would've been the opposite if you cashed out at the right time. Better take it for what it is, since a close loss would feel much worse.

It is actually greed that will make someone to cash out that amount of money and still be angry for cashing out just because the remaining game played.
Some people are just too greedy and that is why they keep losing.
Whenever I cash out my bet and the bet later played as predicted by me, I will not get angry for cashing out early because I know that gambling is by luck and winning is a 50-50 chance, so if I decide to cash out, I will never get angry just because it played later. Anyone who’s getting angry for that is a greedy person.

There are many people who refuse to cash out just because of greediness and they ended up losing huge amount of money, it is always better to cash out when the cash out comes out good amount of money.

Before you Cashout, you have to check the remaining games or matches and analysis them very well and check their previous matches and wins. And also check the kind of league they are playing. There are times we select games base on teams and not knowing that the leagues are different and teams do well in different Leagues. All those things I said above has happened to me. According to people experience is the best teacher. I selected 7 games. And I won 5 games and there was a cashout, so I went back to check the remaining games and I discovered that the Arsenal team was not the male team but the female team and I selected it to win their opponent so when I previewed the two teams, the H2H was very close and at that point there was no confidence on Arsenal team again and I have t cashout the money.

You know what happened, Arsenal female team drew the match and the other remaining match entered. Assuming I didn't cashout, I would have lost the bet. I don't normally do cashout but depends on the scenereo.

This is about being appreciative of what you get. Satisfaction.

There's a trick that I use when I cash out my parlay ticket. Don't check the remaining games. Think of it like you already won, and you don't really have any remaining legs on your ticket that you should check. This way, you won't feel the frustration when all the remaining legs suddenly win, and you won't feel bad anymore.

I've done that many times, and it works like a charm for me.

It’s in our nature to complain about things we have no control over. I have been in such situations before, at first, my reaction was mixed with a bit of regret but ultimately I was grateful that I made some winnings. I have a bet right now on Crystal Palace match, and if I’m presented with a cashout option half of my stake, I will happily take it.

Greed will not work for everyone. Someone will decide to praise themselves for making a smart choice. After all, the amount received exceeds the initial bid, so the desire to get more will always be more risky. I would be happy with what I already have, but people are gambling, and next time, some people, knowing such a coincidence with winnings, will most likely make another mistake, thinking that this time they will be lucky. Gambling always tempts people to want more, but the winner is the one who knows how to control himself and stop in time.

As far as I understand, this is about the withdrawal option offered by the bookmaker? 🙋

I think the player who took $18,000 and withdrew it instead of continuing to play and win $30,000 is upset because he feels outsmarted. No one likes to feel like a fool.

The player understands that he's playing against the bookmaker. If the bookmaker offers him a withdrawal, it means they're offering him a clearly unfavorable deal. Yes, the player may have good reasons to accept this offer at the moment. However, from a mathematical standpoint, it's unfavorable. And the player knows this.

So after receiving his $18,000, he begins to suffer psychologically. He suffers because of the unfairness. He lost the psychological game to the bookmaker. The bookmaker is rich; he has practically unlimited money.  Thus, he can offer his counterparty (players) unfavorable deals, and the player is often forced to agree to them because he is poor and has limited money. Yes, this can be considered unfair.

On the other hand, if you make a profit, you should be happy, not upset. 💁

Honestly, I feel some people focus too much on what they could have won instead of appreciating what they actually got.

So tell me, is it greed, or is it just human nature? Why do people get upset over a bet they cashed out successfully, just because they would have won more?
This is just a human nature. All kinds of results whether if it is a win or a loss, our minds will always come up with this "what if's". Like we have this thoughts of what would have happened if we had made a different decision. Wherein, we will never know the exact outcome and if the last leg of the match lose, I'd probably say that luckily I cashed out early or the entire bet I placed will be lost.

It may seem as though it's greed but it's not but the human brain thinking irrationally because why would someone who luckily got $14k richer be worried about the $12k that's uncertain. In the right sense, such person should be happy to get $14k using $4k, that's some gamblers wish but the luck came to the person, which is worth being grateful.
Although the initial reward that was to be won is bigger but $14k cashout is better than nothing and people should be grateful whether or not the remaining game played cause what if it didn't, which mean the person lost the $4k stake and potential $30k reward.

That is greed & if we refer to the seven deadly sins, it is a part of human nature. Humans always want more, even when a gambler wins $5,000 in a single session, they still hope to end up with $50,000. Just in case it actually reaches $50,000, they will surely be expecting $500,000. We are never truly satisfied until we are grateful, that's why in gambling we need to set limits, a limit on losses or a limit on wins.

It's usually in human nature to feel regret for an opportunity missed, but it would have been even more painful if we had lost everything after having the opportunity to cash out $18,000 but later turned it down because we wanted more.

I believe that I have said this before in the past, and am equally going to say this again, if you want to win big in gambling, you need to be greedy, because cashing out small small winnings will at a point deprive you of a big winning you would have gotten if you have allowed all the games to play, so if you can afford to lose a cash out opportunity, then being greedy and waiting for the big winning is not a bad idea to me.

So tell me, is it greed, or is it just human nature? Why do people get upset over a bet they cashed out successfully, just because they would have won more?
it is human nature but the truth remains that nothing is guaranteed as long as gambling is concerned. the worse case scenario is always possible and like they say, a bird at hand is far more precious than a thousand in the bush.

there are several what if that is possible in this case. the good thing is that you have won even though you could have won more but in the same way that you could have won more, you could also have lost more or all. there is not a thing that is guaranteed in gambling

As a gambler , you don't have to complain about the game you cashed out, and that very game end up becoming successful. However, not everyone like using the cash out option because while cash out can make you recover part of your potential win, it can also deprive you of huge win. If you are a responsible gambler, and you want to win huge amount of money, cashing out will always deprive from that huge win, so you should be able to stay calm, and watch your game going, if they game happen to spoil you try some other time, and if it becomes successful you win. There was someone who was always aiming to win huge , and doesn't cash out his games, he failed many times, but one day he succeeded winning a life changing bet, but if he had cultivated the habit of cashing out, he would have missed that huge win. Every gambler is entitle to his own decision, and there is no need regretting any decision you make because you chose it.

People are actually different, for someone like me I will get angry if I cash out and the game or the match ends up playing, this is one of the reasons why I usually don't like cashing out my game, no matter the amount I see in cash out I don't like cashing out so I wouldn't regret later.
I know some of you are going to say I am a greedy person, I really don't care I'm being truthful to my self, majority of people that are gamblers are going to feel very bad if such a thing happens, but some people will pretend as if they won't feel bad but deep down they will feel bad.
Cashing out is good, but if you cash out and you later discover that the game actually played you will be sad.

You know humans will always be humans, we have that greed in us, but we forget that we are not in control of what happens to our bet slip,  going by the example you gave, anyone that cash out such amount on that stake, should be happy, but you know people are not satisfied with they have at hand, I'm a gambler I understand how people feel when they cash out and the game later won, I have been in that situation before, but I learn to move on even if the game play, because I can draw back time, and the money won has problems it will solve for me, I have refused to cash out when my bet is remaining one for me to boom different times, I ended up losing the game, so now is either I cashout or I leave it and accept any outcome later.

Honestly, I feel some people focus too much on what they could have won instead of appreciating what they actually got.

So tell me, is it greed, or is it just human nature? Why do people get upset over a bet they cashed out successfully, just because they would have won more?

The complaints is bond out of greediness from the gamblers because Instead of the person to be happy that he doesn't lost all the games had it been he didn't cash out and lost is sad because he cashed out and at the long run the whole game played. This is a two way thing it's either the gambler is at the disadvantage or the casino is at advantage, two of this people can't be winners at a time and we should understand that one party must go home smiling at the end of the day.

I have experienced this severally because I was afraid that the games won't play and so I just cashed out the available cash that was shown and at the end the game played, I only felt bad but I was happy because I was able to make a little money from it as I don't lost my stake money as well. I think it's greed and human nature of not being satisfied with the little they have that makes them to complain because they would have won more if they didn't cashed out.
